Eulerian quasisymmetric functions were introduced by Shareshian and Wachs in order to obtain a q-analog of Euler?s exponential generating function formula for the Eulerian numbers (Shareshian and Wachs, 2010 [17]). They are defined via the symmetric group, and applying the stable and nonstable principal specializations yields formulas for joint distributions of permutation statistics. We consider the wreath product of the cyclic group with the symmetric group, also known as the group of colored permutations. We use this group to introduce colored Eulerian quasisymmetric functions, which are a generalization of Eulerian quasisymmetric functions. We derive a formula for the generating function of these colored Eulerian quasisymmetric functions, which reduces to a formula of Shareshian and Wachs for the Eulerian quasisymmetric functions. We show that applying the stable and nonstable principal specializations yields formulas for joint distributions of colored permutation statistics, which generalize the Shareshian–Wachs q-analog of Euler?s formula, formulas of Foata and Han, and a formula of Chow and Gessel.  相似文献

The initial purpose of the present paper is to provide a combinatorial proof of the minor summation formula of Pfaffians in [Ishikawa, Wakayama, Minor summation formula of Pfaffians, Linear and Multilinear Algebra 39 (1995) 285-305] based on the lattice path method. The second aim is to study applications of the minor summation formula for obtaining several identities. Especially, a simple proof of Kawanaka's formula concerning a q-series identity involving the Schur functions [Kawanaka, A q-series identity involving Schur functions and related topics, Osaka J. Math. 36 (1999) 157-176] and of the identity in [Kawanaka, A q-Cauchy identity involving Schur functions and imprimitive complex reflection groups, Osaka J. Math. 38 (2001) 775-810] which is regarded as a determinant version of the previous one are given.  相似文献

A recent breakthrough in the theory of (type A) Macdonald polynomials is due to Haglund, Haiman and Loehr, who exhibited a combinatorial formula for these polynomials in terms of a pair of statistics on fillings of Young diagrams. Ram and Yip gave a formula for the Macdonald polynomials of arbitrary type in terms of so-called alcove walks; these originate in the work of Gaussent-Littelmann and of the author with Postnikov on discrete counterparts to the Littelmann path model. In this paper, we relate the above developments, by explaining how the Ram-Yip formula compresses to a new formula, which is similar to the Haglund-Haiman-Loehr one but contains considerably fewer terms.  相似文献

Using a quantum field theory renormalization group-like differential equation, we give a new proof of the recipe theorem for the Tutte polynomial for matroids. The solution of such an equation is in fact given by some appropriate characters of the Hopf algebra of isomorphic classes of matroids, characters which are then related to the Tutte polynomial for matroids. This Hopf algebraic approach also allows to prove, in a new way, a matroid Tutte polynomial convolution formula appearing in [W. Kook, V. Reiner, D. Stanton, A convolution formula for the Tutte polynomial, J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 76 (1999) 297–300] and [G. Etienne, M. Las Vergnas, External and internal elements of a matroid basis, Discrete Math. 179 (1998) 111–119].  相似文献

We introduce a family of quasisymmetric functions called Eulerian quasisymmetric functions, which specialize to enumerators for the joint distribution of the permutation statistics, major index and excedance number on permutations of fixed cycle type. This family is analogous to a family of quasisymmetric functions that Gessel and Reutenauer used to study the joint distribution of major index and descent number on permutations of fixed cycle type. Our central result is a formula for the generating function for the Eulerian quasisymmetric functions, which specializes to a new and surprising q-analog of a classical formula of Euler for the exponential generating function of the Eulerian polynomials. This q-analog computes the joint distribution of excedance number and major index, the only of the four important Euler-Mahonian distributions that had not yet been computed. Our study of the Eulerian quasisymmetric functions also yields results that include the descent statistic and refine results of Gessel and Reutenauer. We also obtain q-analogs, (q,p)-analogs and quasisymmetric function analogs of classical results on the symmetry and unimodality of the Eulerian polynomials. Our Eulerian quasisymmetric functions refine symmetric functions that have occurred in various representation theoretic and enumerative contexts including MacMahon's study of multiset derangements, work of Procesi and Stanley on toric varieties of Coxeter complexes, Stanley's work on chromatic symmetric functions, and the work of the authors on the homology of a certain poset introduced by Björner and Welker.  相似文献

Schur polynomials are a special case of Schubert polynomials. In this paper, we give an algorithm to compute the product of a Schubert polynomial with a Schur polynomial on the basis of Schubert polynomials. This is a special case of the general problem of the multiplication of two Schubert polynomials, where the corresponding algorithm is still missing. The main tools for the given algorithm is a factorization property of a special class of Schubert polynomials and the transition formula for Schubert polynomials.  相似文献

An analog of the Kreĭn–Saakyan formula is derived for any pair of relatively prime self-adjoint extensions of a minimal symmetric canonical differential operator. This allows us to deduce a trace formula in the matrix case. I am grateful to Sh. Saakyan for his interest in this work and lively discussion. Received: December 8, 2006. In this paper we consider the enumeration of three kinds of standard Young tableaux (SYT) of truncated shapes by use of the method of multiple integrals. A product formula for the number of truncated shapes of the form (nm, n ? r)k–1 is given, which implies that the number of SYT of truncated shape (n2, 1)\(1) is the number of level steps in all 2-Motzkin paths. The number of SYT with three rows truncated by some boxes ((n + k)3)\(k) is discussed. Furthermore, the integral representation of the number of SYT of truncated shape (nm)\(3, 2) is derived, which implies a simple formula of the number of SYT of truncated shape (nn)\(3, 2).  相似文献

Grothendieck polynomials, introduced by Lascoux and Schützenberger, are certain K-theory representatives for Schubert varieties. Symplectic Grothendieck polynomials, described more recently by Wyser and Yong, represent the K-theory classes of orbit closures for the complex symplectic group acting on the complete flag variety. We prove a transition formula for symplectic Grothendieck polynomials and study their stable limits. We show that each of the K-theoretic Schur P-functions of Ikeda and Naruse arises from a limiting procedure applied to symplectic Grothendieck polynomials representing certain “Grassmannian” orbit closures.  相似文献

Many combinatorial generating functions can be expressed as combinations of symmetric functions, or extracted as sub-series and specializations from such combinations. Gessel has outlined a large class of symmetric functions for which the resulting generating functions are D-finite. We extend Gessel's work by providing algorithms that compute differential equations, these generating functions satisfy in the case they are given as a scalar product of symmetric functions in Gessel's class. Examples of applications to k-regular graphs and Young tableaux with repeated entries are given. Asymptotic estimates are a natural application of our method, which we illustrate on the same model of Young tableaux. We also derive a seemingly new formula for the Kronecker product of the sum of Schur functions with itself.  相似文献

We formulate a nonrecursive combinatorial rule for the expansion of the stable Grothendieck polynomials of Fomin and Kirillov (Proc Formal Power Series Alg Comb, 1994) in the basis of stable Grothendieck polynomials for partitions. This gives a common generalization, as well as new proofs of the rule of Fomin and Greene (Discret Math 193:565–596, 1998) for the expansion of the stable Schubert polynomials into Schur polynomials, and the K-theoretic Grassmannian Littlewood–Richardson rule of Buch (Acta Math 189(1):37–78, 2002). The proof is based on a generalization of the Robinson–Schensted and Edelman–Greene insertion algorithms. Our results are applied to prove a number of new formulas and properties for K-theoretic quiver polynomials, and the Grothendieck polynomials of Lascoux and Schützenberger (C R Acad Sci Paris Ser I Math 294(13):447–450, 1982). In particular, we provide the first K-theoretic analogue of the factor sequence formula of Buch and Fulton (Invent Math 135(3):665–687, 1999) for the cohomological quiver polynomials.  相似文献

Abstract

A very general class of quasi-differential expressions which generate J-symmetric operators in Hilbert space is defined with the aid of Green's formula and characterized in terms of the coefficients. Furthermore, the limit-point condition is discussed for not necessarily symmetric expressions.  相似文献

Qualitative analysis of a stochastic ratio-dependent predator-prey system   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
A stochastic ratio-dependent predator-prey model is investigated in this paper. By the comparison theorem of stochastic equations and Itô’s formula, we obtain the global existence of a positive unique solution of the ratio-dependent model. Besides, a condition for species to be extinct is given and a persistent condition is established. We also conclude that both the prey population and the ratio-dependent function are stable in time average. In the end, numerical simulations are carried out to confirm our findings.  相似文献

We formulate a theory of invariants for the spin symmetric group in some suitable modules which involve the polynomial and exterior algebras. We solve the corresponding graded multiplicity problem in terms of specializations of the Schur Q-functions and a shifted q-hook formula. In addition, we provide a bijective proof for a formula of the principal specialization of the Schur Q-functions.  相似文献

Let Γ be a closed or unclosed unlimited contour, a shift α(t) maps homeomorphically the contour Γ onto itself with preserving or reversing the direction on Γ and also satisfies the conditions for some natural number n?2, αn(t)≅t, and αj(t)?t for 1?j<n. In this work we study subalgebra Σ of algebra L(Lp(Γ,ρ)), which contains all operators of the form

We use a recent characterization of the d-dimensional Archimedean copulas as the survival copulas of d-dimensional simplex distributions (McNeil and Nešlehová (2009) [1]) to construct new Archimedean copula families, and to examine the relationship between their dependence properties and the radial parts of the corresponding simplex distributions. In particular, a new formula for Kendall’s tau is derived and a new dependence ordering for non-negative random variables is introduced which generalises the Laplace transform order. We then generalise the Archimedean copulas to obtain Liouville copulas, which are the survival copulas of Liouville distributions and which are non-exchangeable in general. We derive a formula for Kendall’s tau of Liouville copulas in terms of the radial parts of the corresponding Liouville distributions.  相似文献
