We continue our study of noncommutative deformations of two-dimensional hyperbolic manifolds which we initiated in Part I. We construct a sequence of *-algebras which are quantizations of a compact Riemann surface of genus g corresponding to special values of the Planck constant. The Thomas-Fermi theory for electrons and fixed nuclei in a homogeneous magnetic field is shown to be a limit of quantum mechanics in the following sense: If the nuclear charges and the number of eletrons are multiplied by a, and the magnetic field by a 4/3, then the ground-state energy, divided by a 7/3, converges to the TF energy when a . A similar result holds also for the electronic density. This generalizes corresponding theorems for zero magnetic field due to Lieb, Simon, and Baumgartner.  相似文献

It is shown that a positive diatomic molecule consisting of N electrons and two nuclei with charges Z 1 and Z 2 is unstable with respect to breakup into two atomic subsystems if the nuclear charges are sufficiently large. We define a *-product on 3 and solve the polarization equation f*C=0 where C is the Casimir of the coadjoint representation of SO(3). We compute the action of SO(3) on the space of solutions. We then examine the case of non-zero eigenvalues of C, in order to find finite-dimensional representations of SO(3). Finally, we compute as an asymptotic series of C. This gives an explanation of the use of the star square root of C in a paper by Bayen et al. instead of its natural square root.  相似文献

The purely algebraic notion of CQG algebra (algebra of functions on a compact quantum group) is defined. In a straightforward algebraic manner, the Peter-Weyl theorem for CQG algebras and the existence of a unique positive definite Haar functional on any CQG algebra are established. It is shown that a CQG algebra can be naturally completed to aC *-algebra. The relations between our approach and several other approaches to compact quantum groups are discussed.  相似文献

The OPE algebra Q=Q(g 2 ) generated by a pair of oppositely charged currents (z,±g)(|z|=1) of spin is specified by the leading terms in the small distance expansions of (z 1,g)(z 2, -g) and (z 1,g)(z 2,g). The current (z,g) splits into a product of a U(1)-Thirring field and a Zamolodchikov-Fattev parafermionic current. The quasilocal(i.e.single-or double-valued) representations of Q are classified. The level k states involve 2(k+1) (ks–k+1) lowest weights (dimensions). The results can be viewed as an extension of the (known) representation theory of the SU(2) current algebra in the bosonic case corresponding to even values of g 2 and of the N=2 extended superconformal algebra in the fermionic case corresponding to odd g 2.  相似文献

The q-boson algebra is defined as an associative algebra with generators and relations. Some examples are given, and then the q-boson algebra is extended such that the roots of the diagonal generators are also defined. It is shown that a family of transformations exist mapping one set of standard generators of the q-boson algebra to another set of standard generators. Using such a transformation, one obtains expressions for q-bosons for which the kth q-boson state is expressed in terms of a q-Hermite polynomial p k (x; q) which reduces to the ordinary Hermite polynomial of degree k when q=1.  相似文献

We prove that the distributions defined on the Gelfand-Shilov spacesS with < 1 and, hence, more singular than hyperfunctions, retain the angular localizability property. Specifically, they have uniquely determined support cones. This result enables one to develop a distribution-theoretic technique suitable for the consistent treatment of quantum fields with arbitrarily singular ultraviolet and infrared behavior. One more model of aq-harmonic oscillator based on theq-orthogonal polynomials of Al-Salam and Carlitz is discussed. The explicit form ofq-creation andq-annihilation operators,q-coherent states and an analog of the Fourier transformation are established.
