Results of experiments recently performed are reported, in which two optical parametric amplifiers were set up to generate two independently quadrature squeezed continuous wave laser beams. The transformation of quadrature squeezed states into polarization squeezed states and into states with spatial quantum correlations is demonstrated. By utilizing two squeezed laser beams, a polarization squeezed state exhibiting three simultaneously squeezed Stokes operator variances was generated. Continuous variable polarization entanglement was generated and the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox was observed. A pair of Stokes operators satisfied both the inseparability criterion and the conditional variance criterion. Values of 0.49 and 0.77, respectively, were observed, with entanglement requiring values below unity. The inseparability measure of the observed quadrature entanglement was 0.44. This value is sufficient for a demonstration of quantum teleportation, which is the next experimental goal of the authors.  相似文献

量子纠缠是一种重要的量子资源,在多个空间分离的量子存储器间建立确定性的量子纠缠,然后在用户控制的时刻将所存储的量子纠缠转移到量子信道中进行信息的分发和传送,这对于实现量子信息网络是至关重要的.本文介绍了用光学参量放大器制备与铷原子D1吸收线对应的非经典光场,而且在三个空间分离的原子系综中确定性量子纠缠的产生、存储和转移.利用电磁感应透明光和原子相互作用的原理,将制备的多组分光场纠缠态模式映射到三个远距离的原子系综以建立原子自旋波之间的纠缠.然后,存储在原子系综中的纠缠态通过三个量子通道,纠缠态的量子噪声被转移到三束空间分离的正交纠缠光场.三束释放的光场间纠缠的存在验证了该系统具有保持多组分纠缠的能力.这个方案实现了三个量子节点间的纠缠,并且可以直接扩展到具有更多节点的量子网络,为未来实现大型量子网络通信奠定了基础.  相似文献

We propose a novel quantum switch teleportation with a continuous variable, which can teleport a quantum state to two different receivers alternatively, using a pair of two-mode squeezed lights as the quantum switching to manipulate the transmission route. In this scheme, the EPR entangled beams shared by sender and receivers are produced by mixing a pair of two-mode squeezed lights on one beamsplitter and separating them by using a polarizing beam splitter. The teleportation capability of this system is examined by the criteria proposed by Ralph and Lam [#!ralph!#] from a small signal quantum optical point of view. We study the interaction of a nearly resonant linearly polarized laser beam with a cloud of cold cesium atoms in a high finesse optical cavity. We show theoretically and experimentally that the cross-Kerr effect due to the saturation of the optical transition produces quadrature squeezing on both the mean field and the orthogonally polarized vacuum mode. An interpretation of this vacuum squeezing as polarization squeezing is given and a method for measuring quantum Stokes parameters for weak beams via a local oscillator is developed.  相似文献

We report on a novel and efficient source of polarization squeezing that uses a single pass through an optical fiber. Using the fiber's two orthogonal polarization axes produces two identical squeezed beams. Combining these in a Stokes measurement generates polarization squeezing of up to 5.1 +/- 0.3 dB. Furthermore, this scheme enables us to directly measure, for both polarizations, the noise of any given quadrature.  相似文献

The development of the Raman atom laser promises to make available new techniques for accessing and manipulating the quantum statistical properties of Bose-Einstein condensates. In this work we show how, combined with the already existing methods for the manipulation of quantum states of light which are central to quantum optics, the Raman input-output coupling mechanisms potentially enable the production of quadrature squeezed and sub-Poissonian atomic beams, and entanglement between atomic and optical fields. We also propose a method of measuring the quantum statistics of the atomic beam by transferring them to an optical field. Finally, by combning these techniques, we propose a method of teleporting the atom laser beam from one trapped condensate to another.  相似文献

We report the measurement of the intensity difference squeezing via the non-degenerate four-wave mixing process in a rubidium atomic vapor medium. Two pairs of balanced detection systems are employed to measure the probe and the conjugate beams, respectively. It is convenient to get the quantum shot noise limit, the squeezed and the amplified noise power spectra. We also investigate the influence of the input extra quadrature amplitude noise of the probe beam. The influence of the extra noise can be minimized and the squeezing can be optimized under the proper parameter condition. We measure the -3.7-dB intensity difference squeezing when the probe beam has a 3-dB extra quadrature amplitude noise. This result is slightly smaller than -4.1 dB when the ideal coherent light (no extra noise) for the probe beam is used.  相似文献

We report the experimental transformation of quadrature entanglement between two optical beams into continuous variable polarization entanglement. We extend the inseparability criterion proposed by Duan et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 84, 2722 (2000)]] to polarization states and use it to quantify the entanglement. We propose an elaboration utilizing two quadrature entangled pairs for which all three Stokes operators between a pair of beams are entangled.  相似文献

We report on the generation of a continuous variable Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) entanglement using an optical fiber interferometer. The Kerr nonlinearity in the fiber is exploited for the generation of two independent squeezed beams. These interfere at a beam splitter and EPR entanglement is obtained between the output beams. The correlation of the amplitude (phase) quadratures is measured to be 4.0+/-0.2 (4.0+/-0.4) dB below the quantum noise limit. The sum criterion for these squeezing variances 0.80+/-0.03<2 verifies the nonseparability of the state. The product of the inferred uncertainties for one beam (0.64+/-0.08) is well below the EPR limit of unity.  相似文献

A two-mode entangled state was generated experimentally through mixing two squeezed lights from two optical parametric amplifiers on a 50/50 beam splitter.The entangled beams were measured by means of two pairs of balanced homodyne detection systems respectively.The relative phases between the local beams and the detected beams can be locked by using the optical phase modulation technique.The covariance matrix of the two-mode entangled state was obtained when the relative phase of the local beam and the detected beam in one homodyne detection system is locked and the other is scanned.This method provides a way by which one can extract the covariance matrix of any selected quadrature components of two-mode Gaussian state.  相似文献

Analytic expressions and computed examples are given to elucidate the coherence and polarization properties of Stokes beams, i.e. beams formed by superposition of a completely unpolarized and a completely polarized electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model beam. We found that superposition of such two beams cannot form a Stokes beam with a constant state of polarization on propagation. An additional constraint on the source plane parameters of the two Gaussian Schell-model beams is proposed. The resultant Stokes beam with a constant state of polarization on propagation is found to be a Gaussian Schell-model beam with the same variances as the two constituent Gaussian Schell-model beams. However, the modulus of the Gaussian intensity distributions across the source planes of these beams may be different.  相似文献

纠缠微波信号是电磁场微波频段量子特性的体现.在总结了现有纠缠微波信号产生及验证实验的基础上,针对目前没有统一的表达式来描述纠缠微波信号格式的问题,通过深入分析纠缠微波信号的特性,提出了两种纠缠微波信号的表示方法.一种是在量子框架下,利用双模压缩真空态表示,并分别在光子数表象下和Wigner分布下分析了其信号特征,刻画了正交分量之间的正反关联特性;另一种是在经典框架下,利用关联随机信号表示,刻画了测量后纠缠微波信号场幅度正交分量随时间变化的波形图.两种表示恰当合理地反映了纠缠微波信号连续变量纠缠的特性.  相似文献

QND measurements of the amplitude quadrature of continuous-wave light are performed with a monolithic dual-port degenerate optical parametric amplifier (OPA). Operated with a vacuum meter input, both output beams are squeezed and 33% correlated, demonstrating individually squeezed twin beams. The sum of the signal and meter transfer coefficients is 1.05, demonstrating operation as a quantum optical tap. The device exhibits quantum state preparation ability for both signal and meter output, reaching the conditional variances of dB and dB, respectively. An improved quantum measurement is realized by injecting 3.4 dB amplitude-squeezed light into the meter input port of the OPA. This achieves increased correlation and squeezing of the output beams, and both improved operation as a quantum optical tap and as a quantum state preparator. We propose a quantum state sharing scheme for continuous variables using bright two-mode squeezed state and single-mode squeezed state light. The squeezing of a single-mode state is applied to enhance the security of information in quantum teleportation network. The signal-to-noise ratio of communication and the fidelity between the secret and reconstruction state are analysed. It is shown that both the receivers of Bob and Charlie cannot extract information with a high signal-to-noise ratio because of the large noise come from the other quadrature component of single mode squeezed state. Anyone of Bob and Charlie can retrieve the quantum state with a high signal-to-noise ratio if and only if the other one cooperates with the measurement.  相似文献

We show that three-level atoms excited by two cavity modes in a Lambda configuration close to electromagnetically induced transparency can produce strongly squeezed bright beams or correlated beams which can be used for quantum nondemolition measurements. The input intensity is the experimental "knob" for tuning the system into a squeezer or a quantum nondemolition device. The quantum correlations become ideal at a critical point characterized by the appearance of a switching behavior in the mean fields intensities. Our predictions, based on a realistic fully quantum three-level model including cavity losses and spontaneous emission, allow direct comparison with future experiments.  相似文献

根据Anderson等近期的理论研究,简要介绍了Ⅱ类相位匹配倍频过程产生纠缠光的理论计算过程,得出了纠缠的类型、纠缠度与抽运功率的函数关系和纠缠度的理论值。利用Ⅱ类非临界相位匹配的KTP晶体作为倍频晶体,采用倍频腔结构为半整块的单端驻波腔(由于腔的入射光与反射光重合,无法直接取出纠缠光束,需要先将腔内的纠缠光束当作一对压缩的耦合模取出,再在50/50光学分束器上干涉恢复一对纠缠的本征模),在基频光波长获得了具有正交振幅负关联、正交相位正关联特征的量子纠缠光束对,它们的正交振幅和噪声低于散粒噪声基准0.2±0.1 dB,正交相位差噪声低于散粒噪声基准1±0.2 dB。最后分析了两个正交分量的纠缠度不平衡的原因。与目前常用的光学参变振荡器相比,此类纠缠产生源的装置具有便捷和结构简单的优点。  相似文献

We perform a reconstruction of the polarization sector of the density matrix of an intense polarization squeezed beam starting from a complete set of Stokes measurements. We demonstrate experimentally a protocol of transferring nonclassical quantum properties using two pairs of quantum-correlated twin beams in the continuous variable regime. The intensity quantum correlation from one twin beam is transferred to two initially independent idler beams with the help of a displacement transformation. It makes two originally independent beams exhibit an intensity quantum correlation of 0.8 dB below shot-noise level.  相似文献

1.5 μm光通信波段非经典光场在光纤中有着极低的传输损耗, 因而是基于光纤的实用化连续变量量子信息研究的重要资源. 本文利用周期极化磷酸氧钛晶体构成的半整块结构简并光学参量放大器, 实验获得了连续变量1.5 μm光通信波段的明亮压缩态光场. 光学参量放大器的阈值功率为230 mW. 当780 nm抽运光场功率为110 mW, 1.5 μm注入信号光场功率为3 mW时, 连续变量1.5 μm明亮正交位相压缩态光场的压缩度达4.7 dB. 进而利用时域零拍探测系统测量压缩态, 采用量子层析技术重构了该明亮正交位相压缩态光场的Wigner准概率分布函数.  相似文献
