In this study some of the assumptions introduced in [1] in developing a closed system of equations for a turbulent boundary layer will be simplified. With the aid of the system of equations of [1], a theoretical solution is found for the problem of a jet in an accompanying flow, it being assumed that the structure of the jet turbulence depends solely on local conditions. Experiment has shown that the turbulence in such a jet does depend also on the prehistory of the flow. At large distances from the source, the theoretical characteristics of the jet agree well with the experimentally determined characteristics of the wake beyond a body. Also examined is the problem of the boundary layer between two homogeneous flows, flowing with different velocities.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR. The problem of the propagation of a laminar immersed fan jet with swirling was considered in [1–3]. In [1], the jet source scheme was used to find a self-similar solution for a weakly swirling jet. An attempt to solve by an integral method the analogous problem for a jet emanating from a slit of finite size was made in [2]. In [3], the equations of motion for a jet with arbitrary swirling were reduced under a number of assumptions to the equations that describe the flow of a flat immersed jet. This paper gives the numerical solution to the problem of the propagation of a radial jet emanating with arbitrary swirling from a slit of finite size and an analytic solution for the main section of the jet.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 49–54, March–April, 1991.  相似文献

Using the boundary-layer equations as a basis, the author considers the propagation of plane jets of conducting fluid in a transverse magnetic field (noninductive approximation). The propagation of plane jets of conducting fluid is considered in several studies [1–12]. In the first few studies jet flow in a nonuniform magnetic field is considered; here the field strength distribution along the jet axis was chosen in order to obtain self-similar solutions. The solution to such a problem given a constant conductivity of the medium is given in [1–3] for a free jet and in [4] for a semibounded jet; reference [5] contains a solution to the problem of a free jet allowing for the dependence of conductivity on temperature. References [6–8] attempt an exact solution to the problem of jet propagation in any magnetic field. An approximate solution to problems of this type can be obtained by using the integral method. References [9–10] contain the solution obtained by this method for a free jet propagating in a uniform magnetic field. The last study [10] also gives a comparison of the exact solution obtained in [3] with the solution obtained by the integral method using as an example the propagation of a jet in a nonuniform magnetic field. It is shown that for scale values of the jet velocity and thickness the integral method yields almost-exact values. In this study [10], the propagation of a free jet is considered allowing for conduction anisotropy. The solution to the problem of a free jet within the asymptotic boundary layer is obtained in [1] by applying the expansion method to the small magnetic-interaction parameter. With this method, the problem of a turbulent jet is considered in terms of the Prandtl scheme. The Boussinesq formula for the turbulent-viscosity coefficient is used in [12].This study considers the dynamic and thermal problems involved with a laminar free and semibounded jet within the asymptotic boundary layer, propagating in a magnetic field with any distribution. A system of ordinary differential equations and the integral condition are obtained from the initial partial differential equations. The solution of the derived equations is illustrated by the example of jet propagation in a uniform magnetic field. A similar solution is obtained for a turbulent free jet with the turbulent-exchange coefficient defined by the Prandtl scheme.  相似文献

The problem of an axisymmetric turbulent electrohydrodynamic jet exhausting from a nozzle into an interelectrode gap is formulated. A numerical method of integrating the system of equations describing this flow is developed. This method is used to investigate three-dimensional effects in the jet (expansion of the jet, reverse flows). The influence on the jet characteristics (currents of the charge carried out of the nozzle, jet diameter, etc.) of the geometrical and electrical parameters and also of purely hydrodynamic factors (level of turbulence, relative velocity of parallel flow, etc.) is investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 144–149, September–October, 1980.  相似文献

A study is made of the exhausting of a jet of viscous gas from a cylindrical channel into vacuum in the presence of a flat bounding surface outside the channel in the plane of its exit section. The problem is solved numerically using the complete system of Navier—Stokes equations. The developed flow model makes it possible to take into account the influence of an external medium into which the jet exhausts on the structure of the flow in the exit section of the channel, and also the influence of the subsonic part of the boundary layer in the channel on the flow field of the jet.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 122–128, January–February, 1981.  相似文献

The problem of the propagation of a three-dimensional jet of viscid incompressible fluid flowing from a narrow curved slot into a fluid-filled space along a rigid plane is considered within the framework of the equations of a steady laminar boundary layer. A class of initial conditions at the slot outlet which generates in the jet a velocity field without secondary flows is identified. Within this class the boundaryvalue problem for the three-dimensional boundary layer can be divided into two problems of lower dimensionality: a dynamic and a kinematic problem. As a result of the analysis of the kinematic problem the general structure of the regions of existence and uniqueness of the solution is determined. An investigation of the dynamic problem shows that as the boundaries of the region of existence are approached a singularity characterized by an infinite increase in the thickness of the jet is formed in the solution of the boundary layer equations.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 75–81, July–August, 1991.  相似文献

Equations are described for the three-dimensional motion of a thin jet of viscous liquid. The jet is a liquid body whose transverse dimensions are small compared with the other characteristic dimensions of the problem. The aim in the present paper is to establish a closed system of asymptotic equations for the dynamics of such a thin jet. A more detailed derivation of quasi-one-dimensional asymptotic equations for the dynamics of thin liquid jets and an analysis on the basis of them of the curved decay shape of the jet in the linear and nonlinear stages is contained in [1, 2].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 11–18, September–October, 1980.  相似文献

A regular procedure is proposed for deriving approximate equations of motion of straight thin rotating jets of a viscous incompressible fluid, and similarity parameters of such flows are established. The problem of the stability of free steady motion of a finite jet is considered in the framework of a model that takes into account in the zeroth approximation the effects of viscosity, the rotation of the jet, and capillarity.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 51–59, March–April, 1984.  相似文献

The laminar-turbulent transition zone is investigated for a broad class of jet flows. The problem is considered in terms of the inviscid model. The solution of the initial-boundary value problem for three-dimensional unsteady Euler equations is found by the Bubnov-Galerkin method using the generalized Rayleigh approach [1–4]. The occurrence, subsequent nonlinear evolution and interaction of two-dimensional wave disturbances are studied, together with their secondary instability with respect to three-dimensional disturbances.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 8–19, September–October, 1985.  相似文献

The problem of free flow past a point source is considered for two streams with different Bernoulli constants whose encounter creates a bounded region of constant pressure. The theory and method of solving problems of plane ideal jet flows with different Bernoulli constants in the jets were developed in [1]. Here, in conformity with [1], a nonlinear system of equations is derived, the question of the construction of a high-accuracy numerical solution is considered, and certain calculation results are presented for various values of the Bernoulli and cavitation numbers, which are dimensionless parameters of the problem.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 55–60, May–June, 1986.  相似文献

The problem of jet flow excited in a viscous density-stratified fluid by a point source of momentum acting horizontally is considered. Simplified asymptotic equations are obtained in the boundary layer approximation. It is shown that the vertical velocity component is small and the motion in the jet has a layered structure. The longitudinal velocity distributions in the jet are measured experimentally. It is shown that these distributions are affine and can be satisfactorily approximated by Schlichting's well-known boundary layer solution for a round submerged jet in a fluid uniform with respect to density.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No.6, pp. 10–16, November–December, 1993.We are grateful to I. Evaporation of a semidispersive drop system in a turbulent gas jet is considered. A method for calculating drop evaporation in a turbulent gas jet is proposed based on a simplified solution of the scattering problem for an evaporating admixture. Evaporation of water as it is atomized in a turbulent air jet is experimentally studied. Quasi-one-dimensional equations for the three-dimensional motion of thin liquid jets have been derived by Entov and the present author [1, 2] from the balance integral equations for the mass, momentum, and angular momentum written down for a jet section. Simplified equations of this kind make it possible, in particular, to investigate with comparative ease the motion of bending jets and also the loss of stability of jets moving in air associated with the development of kinks, etc. It is of interest to obtain quasi-one-dimensional equations of jet motion by direct integration over the section of a thin jet of the three-dimensional differential equations of hydrodynamics. In the present note, this approach is illustrated by the example of bending of a jet in a plane.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 161–163, January–February, 1983.  相似文献

The second and third terms in the asymptotic expansion of the stream function in the nonsimilar problem of the development of a two-dimensional turbulent jet in an unbounded space are found in final form. Results of experimental investigations of free turbulent jets are cited, and the effect of the initial velocity profile on the aerodynamic characteristics of the jet is considered. The problem of the development of a two-dimensional turbulent jet in an unbounded space has been considered in [1–3]. The existing solution is similar, and is valid only at a sufficiently large distance from the slit. Allowance for the finite dimensions of the slit leads to a nonsimilar problem. The papers [4–6] are devoted to the experimental investigation of the free two-dimensional turbulent jet.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 137–142, July–August, 1971.  相似文献

The problem of the interaction of a viscous supersonic stream in a flat nozzle with a transverse gas jet of the same composition blown through a slot in one wall of the nozzle is examined. The complete Navier-Stokes equations are used as the initial equations. The statement of the problem in the case of the absence of blowing coincides with [1]. The conditions at the blowing cut are obtained on the assumption that the flow of the blown jet up to the blowing cut is described by one-dimensional equations of ideal gasdynamics. The proposed model of the interaction is generalized to the case of flow of a multicomponent gas mixture in chemical equilibrium. The exact solutions found in [2] are used as the boundary conditions at the entrance to the section of the nozzle under consideration. The results of numerical calculations of the flows of a homogeneous nonreacting gas and of an equilibrium mixture of gases consisting of four components (H2, H2O, CO, CO2) are given for different values of the parameters of the main stream and of the blown jet. In the latter case it is assumed that the effect of thermo- and barodiffusion can be neglected.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 4, pp. 55–63, July–August, 1974.  相似文献

Three schemes of potential flow around a convex contour are examined: free jet; in the presence of a jet-directing wall extending to the contour (without a gap); and in the presence of a jet-directing wall not extending to the contour (with a gap). It is assumed that the jet, not branching, flows around the contour and on one side. The existence and (with certain limitations) uniqueness of the solution of integral equations corresponding to the first two schemes are proved. Their analytic solutions are given for the case of a flow of a sufficiently thin jet around a circle. The first problem is calculated numerically in the entire region of the parameters. The scheme with a gap is examined for the case of flow around a half-plane. The problem of closure of the given potential models is dicsussed. In the case of the scheme without a gap the situation is typical for potential flow problems: The position of the separation point is a free parameter of the model. At the same time, in the presence of a gap (in particular, for the case of a free jet) the flow is determined completely by a system ofa priori assigned geometric parameters.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 10–22, July–August, 1978.The author is grateful to M.
