One of the basic inverse problems in an anisotropic media is the determination of coefficients in a bounded domain with a single measurement. We consider the problem of finding the coefficient of the second derivatives in a second-order hyperbolic equation with variable coefficients.

Under a weak regularity assumption and a geometrical condition on the metric, we prove the uniqueness in a multidimensional hyperbolic inverse problem with a single measurement. Moreover we show that our uniqueness results yield the Lipschitz stability estimate in L 2 space for solution to the inverse problem under consideration.  相似文献

Motivated by the Suzuki’s type fixed point theorems, we give several new existence theorems for scalar quasi-equilibrium problems, and vector quasi-equilibrium problem on complete metric spaces. We give important examples for our results. Note that the solution of quasi-equilibrium problem (resp. vector quasi-equilibrium problem) is unique under suitable conditions, and we can find the unique solution by the Picard iteration. Besides, we also give a new coincidence theorem on complete metric spaces. Finally, we give a new minimax theorem on complete metric spaces. Note that the solution of minimax theorem is unique under suitable conditions, and we can find the unique solution by the Picard iteration.  相似文献

We study the existence of a set with minimal perimeter that separates two disjoint sets in a metric measure space equipped with a doubling measure and supporting a Poincaré inequality. A measure constructed by De Giorgi is used to state a relaxed problem, whose solution coincides with the solution to the original problem for measure theoretically thick sets. Moreover, we study properties of the De Giorgi measure on metric measure spaces and show that it is comparable to the Hausdorff measure of codimension one. We also explore the relationship between the De Giorgi measure and the variational capacity of order one. The theory of functions of bounded variation on metric spaces is used extensively in the arguments.  相似文献

Anisotropic meshes are known to be well-suited for problems which exhibit anisotropic solution features.Defning an appropriate metric tensor and designing an efcient algorithm for anisotropic mesh generation are two important aspects of the anisotropic mesh methodology.In this paper,we are concerned with the natural metric tensor for use in anisotropic mesh generation for anisotropic elliptic problems.We provide an algorithm to generate anisotropic meshes under the given metric tensor.We show that the inverse of the anisotropic difusion matrix of the anisotropic elliptic problem is a natural metric tensor for the anisotropic mesh generation in three aspects:better discrete algebraic systems,more accurate fnite element solution and superconvergence on the mesh nodes.Various numerical examples demonstrating the efectiveness are presented.  相似文献

We analyze stability of conservative solutions of the Cauchy problem on the line for the (integrated) Hunter–Saxton (HS) equation. Generically, the solutions of the HS equation develop singularities with steep gradients while preserving continuity of the solution itself. In order to obtain uniqueness, one is required to augment the equation itself by a measure that represents the associated energy, and the breakdown of the solution is associated with a complicated interplay where the measure becomes singular. The main result in this article is the construction of a Lipschitz metric that compares two solutions of the HS equation with the respective initial data. The Lipschitz metric is based on the use of the Wasserstein metric.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that given a smoothly conformally compact asymptotically hyperbolic metric there is a short-time solution to the Ricci flow that remains smoothly conformally compact and asymptotically hyperbolic. We adapt recent results of Schnürer, Schulze and Simon to prove a stability result for conformally compact Einstein metrics sufficiently close to the hyperbolic metric.  相似文献

We prove a comparison theorem for the isoperimetric profiles of solutions of the normalized Ricci flow on the two-sphere: If the isoperimetric profile of the initial metric is greater than that of some positively curved axisymmetric metric, then the inequality remains true for the isoperimetric profiles of the evolved metrics. We apply this using the Rosenau solution as the model metric to deduce sharp time-dependent curvature bounds for arbitrary solutions of the normalized Ricci flow on the two-sphere. This gives a simple and direct proof of convergence to a constant curvature metric without use of any blowup or compactness arguments, Harnack estimates, or any classification of behaviour near singularities.  相似文献

We consider the Liouville equation associated with a metric g of class C2 and we prove dispersion and Strichartz estimates for the solution of this equation in terms of geodesics associated with g. We introduce the notion of focusing and dispersive metric to characterize metrics such that the same dispersion estimate as in the Euclidean case holds. To deal with the case of non-trapped long range perturbation of the Euclidean metric, we prove a global velocity moments effect on the solution. In particular, we obtain global in time Strichartz estimates for metrics such that the dispersion estimate is not satisfied.  相似文献

We consider the local solution of the Calabi flow for rough initial data. In particular, we prove that for any smooth metric, there is a C α neighborhood such that the Calabi flow has a short time solution for any C α metric in the neighborhood. We also prove that on a compact Kähler surface, if the evolving metrics of the Calabi flow are all L equivalent, then the Calabi flow exists for all time and converges to an extremal metric subsequently.  相似文献

This paper mainly deals with the study of directional versions of metric regularity and metric subregularity for general set-valued mappings between infinite-dimensional spaces. Using advanced techniques of variational analysis and generalized differentiation, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions, which extend even the known results for the conventional metric regularity. Finally, these results are applied to non-smooth optimization problems. We show that that at a locally optimal solution M-stationarity conditions are fulfilled if the constraint mapping is subregular with respect to one critical direction and that for every critical direction a M-stationarity condition, possibly with different multipliers, is fulfilled.  相似文献

We consider a special form of parametric generalized equations arising from electronic circuits with AC sources and study the effect of perturbing the input signal on solution trajectories. Using methods of variational analysis and strong metric regularity property of an auxiliary map, we are able to prove the regularity properties of the solution trajectories inherited by the input signal. Furthermore, we establish the existence of continuous solution trajectories for the perturbed problem. This can be achieved via a result of uniform strong metric regularity for the auxiliary map.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the metric regularity of a positive order for generalized equations. More concretely, we establish verifiable sufficient conditions for a generalized equation to achieve the metric regularity of a positive order at its a given solution. The provided conditions are expressed in terms of the Fréchet coderivative/or the Mordukhovich coderivative/or the Clarke one of the corresponding multifunction formulated the generalized equation. In addition, we show that such sufficient conditions turn out to be also necessary for the metric regularity of a positive order of the generalized equation in the case where the multifunction established the generalized equation is closed and convex.  相似文献

In this paper the authors study the hyperbolic geometric flow on Riemann surfaces. This new nonlinear geometric evolution equation was recently introduced by the first two authors, motivated by Einstein equation and Hamilton's Ricci flow. We prove that, for any given initial metric on ?2 in certain class of metrics, one can always choose suitable initial velocity symmetric tensor such that the solution exists for all time, and the scalar curvature corresponding to the solution metric g ij keeps uniformly bounded for all time; moreover, if the initial velocity tensor is suitably “large", then the solution metric g ij converges to the flat metric at an algebraic rate. If the initial velocity tensor does not satisfy the condition, then the solution blows up at a finite time, and the scalar curvature R(t, x) goes to positive infinity as (t, x) tends to the blowup points, and a flow with surgery has to be considered. The authors attempt to show that, comparing to Ricci flow, the hyperbolic geometric flow has the following advantage: the surgery technique may be replaced by choosing suitable initial velocity tensor. Some geometric properties of hyperbolic geometric flow on general open and closed Riemann surfaces are also discussed.  相似文献
