We calculate the exclusive semi-leptonic charm baryon decays of the lowest lying charm baryon states into the ground state strangeness baryons using the covariant spectator quark model approach. We present results on rates,q 2- andE l -spectra as well as on the angular decay distribution in the cascade decay \(\Omega _c \to \Omega ( \to \Xi \pi ,\Lambda {\rm K})\) .  相似文献

We study the charmonium 2S states ??? and ??? c , and the bottomonium 2S states ???? and ??? b , using the light-front quark model and the 2S state wave function of harmonic oscillator as the approximation of the 2S quarkonium wave function. The decay constants, transition form factors and masses of these mesons are calculated and compared with experimental data. Predictions of quantities such as Br(???????? c ) are made. The 2S wave function may help us learn more about the structure of these heavy quarkonia.  相似文献

We present results for exclusive semileptonic decay widths of ground state spin-1/2 and spin-3/2  cb baryons corresponding to a cs, d transition at the quark level. The relevance of hyperfine mixing in spin-1/2 cb baryons is shown. Our form factors are compatible with heavy quark spin symmetry constraints obtained in the infinite heavy quark mass limit.  相似文献

Mass spectra and semileptonic decay rates of baryons consisting of two heavy (b or c) and one light quark are calculated in the framework of the relativistic quark model. The doubly heavy baryons are treated in the quark-diquark approximation. The ground and excited states of both the diquark and quark-diquark bound systems are considered. The quark-diquark potential is constructed. The light quark is treated completely relativistically, while the expansion in the inverse heavy-quark mass is used. The weak transition amplitudes of heavy diquarks bb and bc going, respectively, to bc and cc are explicitly expressed through the overlap integrals of the diquark wave functions in the whole accessible kinematic range. The relativistic baryon wave functions of the quark-diquark bound system are used for the calculation of the decay matrix elements, the Isgur-Wise function, and decay rates in the heavy-quark limit.  相似文献

It is argued quantitatively that a large difference between the D0 and D+ lifetimes is mainly due to non-perturbative long-distance effects. The total non-leptonic weak decay rates are related to the soft limit of short-distance processes. Scaling laws for the decay rates of heavy mesons with respect to mass are inferred from the QCD analysis of the soft limit of fragmentation. It is found that the decay rates are not determined by the disconnected spectator diagrams alone even in the limit of the heavy quark mass M going to infinity (< MW), since the leading term after the QCD correction scales like M5 exp √clog M. Some numerical discussion is made for the decay of B mesons and T mesons.  相似文献

Processes involving the production of D* mesons and Λ c baryons in electron-positron annihilation at the energies of 10.58 and 91.18 GeV are considered. At the energy of 10.58 GeV, the production of pairs of B mesons that is followed by their decay to charmed particles is analyzed along with direct charm production. The violation of scaling in the respective fragmentation functions is taken into account in the next-to-leading-logarithmic approximation of perturbative QCD. The required nonperturbative fragmentation functions are extracted numerically from experimental data obtained at B factories and are approximated by simple analytic expressions. It is shown that the difference in the nonperturbative fragmentation functions for transitions to mesons and baryons can readily be explained on the basis of the quark-counting rules.  相似文献

The masses, pseudoscalar and vector weak decay constants and electromagnetic form factors of light S-wave mesons are studied in the framework of the relativistic quark model based on the quasipotential approach. We use the same model assumptions and parameters as in our previous investigations of heavy meson and baryon properties. The masses and wave functions of the ground state and radially excited π, ρ, K, K* and φ mesons, obtained by solving numerically the relativistic Schrödinger-like equation with the complete relativistic qq? potential including both spin-independent and spin-dependent terms, are presented. Novel relativistic expressions for the weak decay constants of the pseudoscalar and vector mesons are derived. It is shown that the intermediate negative-energy quark states give significant contributions which essentially decrease the decay constants bringing them in agreement with experimental data. The electromagnetic form factors of the pion, charged and neutral kaon are calculated in a broad range of the space-like momentum transfer. The corresponding charge radii are determined. All results agree well with the available experimental data.  相似文献

We propose some extensions of the quark potential model to hybrids, fit them to the lattice data and use them for the purpose of calculating the masses, root mean square radii and wave functions at the origin of the conventional and hybrid charmonium mesons. We treat the ground and excited gluonic field between a quark and an antiquark as in the Born-Oppenheimer expansion, and use the shooting method to numerically solve the required Schrödinger equation for the radial wave functions; from these wave functions we calculate the mesonic properties. For masses we also check through a Crank Nichelson discretization. For hybrid charmonium mesons, we consider the exotic quantum number states with J PC = 0+?, 1?+ and 2+?. We also compare our results with the experimentally observed masses and theoretically predicted results of the other models. Our results have implications for scalar form factors, energy shifts, magnetic polarizabilities, decay constants, decay widths and differential cross-sections of conventional and hybrid mesons.  相似文献

We modify the mesonic wave function by using a short distance scale r 0 in analogy with hydrogen atom and estimate the values of masses and decay constants of the open flavour charm mesons D, D s and B c within the framework of a QCD potential model. We also calculate leptonic decay widths of these mesons to study branching ratios and lifetime. The results are in good agreement with experimental and other theoretical values.  相似文献

Semileptonic and non-leptonic decays of the B c meson to B s and B mesons, caused by the quark transitions, are studied in the framework of the relativistic quark model. The heavy quark expansion in inverse powers of the active c and spectator quark is used to simplify calculations while the final s and d quarks in the B s and B mesons are treated relativistically. The decay form factors are explicitly expressed through the overlap integrals of the meson wave functions in the whole accessible kinematical range. The obtained results are compared with the predictions of other approaches.Received: 14 August 2003, Revised: 3 September 2003, Published online: 7 November 2003  相似文献

We present the results of a comprehensive analysis of the angular decay distributions occurring in the weak exclusive decays of the lowest lying charm and bottom mesons and baryons. We deal with both semileptonic and nonleptonic decays and discuss various decay channels and their subsequent cascade decay chains including lepton mass effects. In the case of baryons we include polarization effects for the parent charm or bottom baryon. We list in table form general formulae which allow one to write down the joint angular decay distributions for the cascade decaysAB(→b 1+...+b n )+C(→c 1+...+c n ), for all spin casess A ≤1/2 ands B ,s C ≤3/2 for the prominent decays ofB andC. Two examples involving meson and baryon decays are discussed in detail.  相似文献

With the decay constants of D and D s mesons measured in experiment recently, we revisit the study of the bound states of quark and antiquark in B and D mesons in the relativistic potential model. The relativistic bound state wave equation is solved numerically. The masses, decay constants and wave functions of B and D mesons are obtained. Both the masses and decay constants obtained here can be seen as consistent with the experimental data. The wave functions can be used in the study of B and D meson decays.  相似文献

We show that baryons carrying heavy flavors, such as strangeness and charm, can be described by bound states of the corresponding heavy mesons in the background field of the basic SU(2) skyrmion. This method is quantitatively successful to O(Nc0), in the sense of the large-Nc expansion, but at O(1/Nc) it experiences problems associated with our lack of knowledge of higher-derivative terms in the Skyrme action. We derive a model-independent mass relation for strange baryons which is in excellent agreement with experiment.  相似文献

I use the constituent quark model to calculate the exclusive decays of bottom mesons into ground state baryon-antibaryon pairs mediated by the weakbc and b→u transitions. TheW-exchange contributions to these decays are found to be negligible. For theW-decay contributions I find that the simple colour-flavour structure of the 1/2+ and 3/2+ ground state baryons together with the current-current nonleptonic Hamiltonian leads to many simple and testable predictions. Notable among these is the predicted vanishing of decays involving 3/2+ baryons as in \(\overline {B^0 } (B^ - ) \to 3/2^ + \overline {1/2^ + } \) and \(\overline {B^0 } (B^ - ) \to 3/2^ + \overline {3/2^ + } \) . An experimental verification of these selection rules would test the chirality of the basicbc andbu transitions. I also derive predictions for the polarization of the final state baryons depending on the assumed mechanism of quark pair creation. These predictions can be checked in the cases where the final state baryons are weakly decaying spin 1/2 hyperons and charmed baryons.  相似文献

In this work, we analyse semi-leptonic and non-leptonic weak decays of the heavy baryons: Λ_b,Ξ_b,?_b and Λ_c,Ξ_c,?_c. For non-leptonic decay modes, we study only the factorizable channels induced by the external Wemission. The two spectator quarks in the baryonic transitions are treated as a diquark and form factors are calculated in the light-front approach. Using the results for form factors, we also calculate some corresponding semi-leptonic and non-leptonic decay widths. We find that our results are comparable with the available experimental data and other theoretical predictions. Decay branching fractions for many channels are found to reach the level 10~(-3)~10~(-2),which is promising for discovery in future measurements at BESIII, LHCb and Belle II. The SU(3) symmetry in semi-leptonic decays is examined and sources of symmetry breaking are discussed.  相似文献

The semileptonic decay width of heavy baryons such as (Λ b → Λcev) has been estimated in the framework of a nonrelativistic field theoretic quark model where four component quark field operators along with a harmonic oscillator wave function are used to describe translationally invariant hadronic states. The present estimation does not make an explicit use of heavy quark symmetry and has a reasonable agreement with the experimentally measured decay width, polarisation ratio and form factors with the harmonic oscillator radii and quark momentum distribution inside the hadron as free parameters.  相似文献

We use the quark model framework to calculate the weak decays of the lowest lying charmed baryons into ground state baryons and mesons. We present detailed results on the predicted flavour and multipole composition of the final state configurations which can be tested in the near future. For the decays 1/2+→1/2++0? we also give symmetry and current algebra estimates which we compare with the quark model results. Semileptonic branching ratios in charmed baryon decays are calculated to be of the order of ~5%. The total lifetime of charmed baryons is predicted to be ~7 10?14 s which is 5–10 times smaller than the free quark model estimate.  相似文献

We extend a previous work on the study of heavy charmonia and bottomonia in a deconfined quark-gluon plasma by considering the B c family of mesons. With the introduction of this bound state of a charm and a beauty quark, we investigate at finite temperature the behavior of the quarkonium, in an energy region between the ψ and the Y states.  相似文献

Low lying excitations of colored quarks and gluons are studied in the bag theory. The baryons and mesons considered have one quark in a P-wave excited state and the remainder in the ground state. They correspond to 1/2 and 3/2 baryons and to 0+ and 1+ mesons. Gluon hyperfine interactions are included to lowest order. SU(3) is broken by the strange quark mass. All parameters of the model were determined previously by fitting the masses of the light hadrons. The calculated masses of these states are generally found to be lighter than the observed states. Our spectrum contains states which do not occur in models of quark confinement with only two body forces but which should be present in the physical spectrum of any baglike confinement model.  相似文献
