We construct an improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model with a cubic coupling term of the dilaton and the bulk scalar field. The background fields in this model are solved by the Einstein-dilaton system with a nontrivial dilaton potential, which has been shown to reproduce the equation of state from the lattice QCD with two flavors. The chiral transition behaviors are investigated in the improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model with the solved gravitational background, and the crossover transition can be realized. Our study provides the possibility to address the deconfining and chiral phase transitions simultaneously in the bottom-up holographic framework.  相似文献

We argue that deconfinement in anti-de Sitter space models of quantum chromodynamics (AdS/QCD models) occurs via a first order Hawking-Page type phase transition between low temperature thermal AdS and a high temperature black hole. Such a result is consistent with the expected temperature independence, to leading order in 1/Nc, of the meson spectrum and spatial Wilson loops below the deconfinement temperature. As a by-product, we obtain model dependent deconfinement temperatures Tc in the hard- and soft-wall models of AdS/QCD. Our result for Tc in the soft-wall model is close to a recent lattice prediction.  相似文献

In the Lorentz invariant formalism of compact space–time dimensions the assumption of periodic boundary conditions represents a consistent semi-classical quantization condition for relativistic fields. In Dolce (2011) [18] we have shown, for instance, that the ordinary Feynman path integral is obtained from the interference between the classical paths with different winding numbers associated with the cyclic dynamics of the field solutions. By means of the boundary conditions, the kinematical information of interactions can be encoded on the relativistic geometrodynamics of the boundary, see Dolce (2012) [8]. Furthermore, such a purely four-dimensional theory is manifestly dual to an extra-dimensional field theory. The resulting correspondence between extra-dimensional geometrodynamics and ordinary quantum behavior can be interpreted in terms of AdS/CFT correspondence. By applying this approach to a simple Quark–Gluon–Plasma freeze-out model we obtain fundamental analogies with basic aspects of AdS/QCD phenomenology.  相似文献

Recently Polchinski and Strassler reproduced the high energy QCD scaling at fixed angles from a gauge string duality inspired by the AdS/CFT correspondence. In their approach a confining gauge theory is taken as approximately dual to an AdS space with an IR cut-off. Considering such an approximation (AdS slice) we found a one to one holographic mapping between bulk and boundary scalar fields. Associating the bulk fields with dilatons and the boundary fields with glueballs of the confining gauge theory we also found the same high energy QCD scaling. Here, using this holographic mapping, we give a simple estimate for the mass ratios of the glueballs assuming the AdS slice approximation to be valid at low energies. We also compare these results to those coming from supergravity and lattice QCD.Received: 10 September 2003, Revised: 19 November 2003, Published online: 9 January 2004  相似文献

Holographic QCD is an extra-dimensional approach to modeling QCD resonances and their interactions. Holographic models encode information about chiral symmetry breaking, Weinberg sum rules, vector meson dominance, and other phenomenological features of QCD. There are two complementary approaches to holographic model building: a top–down approach which begins with string-theory brane configurations, and a bottom–up approach which is more phenomenological. In this talk I will describe the AdS/CFT correspondence, which motivates Holographic QCD, and the techniques used to build holographic models of QCD and to calculate observables in those models. I will also discuss an intriguing lightcone approach to Holographic QCD discovered by Brodsky and De Teramond.  相似文献

We investigate the AdS/QCD duality for the two-point correlation functions of the lowest dimension scalar meson and scalar glueball operators,in the case of the Soft Wall holographic model of QCD.Masses and decay constants as well as gluon condensates are compared to their QCD estimates. In particular, the role of the boundary conditions for the bulk-to-boundary propagators is emphasized.  相似文献

The mass spectrum of Δ -resonances is compared to predictions based on three quark-model variants, to predictions assuming that chiral symmetry is restored in high-mass baryon resonances, and to predictions derived from AdS/QCD. The latter approach yields a nearly perfect agreement when the confinement property of QCD is modeled by a soft wall in AdS.  相似文献

Light-front holography leads to a rigorous connection between hadronic amplitudes in a higher dimensional anti-de Sitter(AdS) space and frame-independent light-front wavefunctions of hadrons in(3 + 1)-dimensional physical space-time,thus providing a compelling physical interpretation of the AdS/CFT correspondence principle and AdS/QCD,a useful framework which describes the correspondence between theories in a modified AdS 5 background and confining field theories in physical space-time.To a first semiclassical approximation, where quantum loops and quark masses are not included, this approach leads to a single-variable light-front Schro¨dinger equation which determines the eigenspectrum and the light-front wavefunctions of hadrons for general spin and orbital angular momentum. The coordinate z in AdS space is uniquely identified with a Lorentz-invariant coordinate ζ which measures the separation of the constituents within a hadron at equal light-front time. The internal structure of hadrons is explicitly introduced and the angular momentum of the constituents plays a key role.We give an overview of the light-front holographic approach to strongly coupled QCD.In particular,we study the photon-to-meson transition form factors(TFFs) FMγ(Q 2) for γ→ M using light-front holographic methods. The results for the TFFs for the η and η ' mesons are also presented. Some novel features of QCD are discussed, including the consequences of confinement for quark and gluon condensates.A method for computing the hadronization of quark and gluon jets at the amplitude level is outlined.  相似文献

The axial-vector form factor of the nucleons is considered in the framework of hard-wall model of holographic QCD. A new interaction term between the bulk gauge and matter fields was included into the interaction Lagrangian. We obtain the axial-vector form factor of nucleons in the boundary QCD from the bulk action using AdS/CFT correspondence. The momentum square dependence of the axial-vector form factor is analysed numerically.  相似文献

To study drag force on a moving heavy quark through a plasma, we use a deformed AdS space-time, in which deformation parameter c describes non-conformality in AdS/QCD. In this case, the quark is mapped to a probe string in the AdS space. Considering the probable contribution of the deformation parameter in the probe string, we apply a general form of c-dependent string ansatz in the drag force computation. Then, we find the acceptable value of this parameter as it satisfies QCD calculations. Using this result, we also discuss the diffusion constant which is in agreement with the phenomenological result for the non-relativistic limit. Also, we show that while in absence of a deformation parameter, the probe string is a strictly increasing function of radial coordinate, the c-dependent probe string has a maximum value versus z.  相似文献

The couplings gρHH of the ρ meson with a scalar meson H are calculated in a holographic dual of QCD in which the Regge trajectories for the mesons are manifest. In contrast to the conclusion in general AdS/QCD models, the resulting couplings grow linearly with the quantum number of excited H; thus they are far from universal. This non-universality seems to result from the disappearance of an explicit cutoff in the holographic dimension in this model. Correspondingly, the ρ-dominance for the electromagnetic form factors of H does not hold any more, even in an apparent sign-alternating manner. With these couplings at hand, the asymptotic behavior of the form factors can easily be calculated. The form factor exhibits the 1/Q(2Δ-2) behavior, which is in accordance with the scaling behavior of the fixed-angle scattering amplitude based on the AdS/CFT correspondence. It is also pointed out that the asymptotic behavior can be matched to the results of perturbative QCD, if the conformal dimension Δ of the operator is replaced by the combination τ+L of the meson. We critically examine the question of scaling of the Deep Inelastic Scattering process in the medium Bjorken x region on a scalar boson in the framework of the AdS/QCD correspondence. To get the right polarization structure of the forward electroproduction amplitude, we show that one needs to add (at least) the scalar to scalar and scalar to vector hadronic amplitudes. This illustrates how the partonic picture may emerge from a simple scenario based on the AdS/QCD correspondence, provided one allows the conformal dimension of the hadronic field to equal 1 and use the concept of “hadron–parton duality”.  相似文献

Based on an IR-improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model for mesons, which provides a consistent prediction for the mass spectra of resonance scalar, pseudoscalar, vector and axial-vector mesons,we investigate its finite temperature effect.By analyzing the spectral function of mesons and fitting it with a Breit-Wigner form,we perform an analysis for the critical temperature of mesons. The back-reaction effects of bulk vacuum are considered and the thermal mass spectral function of resonance mesons is calculated based on the back-reaction improved action.A reasonable melting temperature is found to be T_c≈150 ± 7 MeV.which is consistent with the recent results from lattice QCD simulations.  相似文献
