In this paper, we study the existence of traveling wave solutions for a class of delayed non-local reaction-diffusion equations without quasi-monotonicity. The approach is based on the construction of two associated auxiliary reaction-diffusion equations with quasi-monotonicity and a profile set in a suitable Banach space by using the traveling wavefronts of the auxiliary equations. Under monostable assumption, by using the Schauder's fixed point theorem, we then show that there exists a constant c>0 such that for each c>c, the equation under consideration admits a traveling wavefront solution with speed c, which is not necessary to be monotonic.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a class of time-delayed reaction-diffusion equation with local nonlinearity for the birth rate. For all wavefronts with the speed c>c, where c>0 is the critical wave speed, we prove that these wavefronts are asymptotically stable, when the initial perturbation around the traveling waves decays exponentially as x→−∞, but the initial perturbation can be arbitrarily large in other locations. This essentially improves the stability results obtained by Mei, So, Li and Shen [M. Mei, J.W.-H. So, M.Y. Li, S.S.P. Shen, Asymptotic stability of traveling waves for the Nicholson's blowflies equation with diffusion, Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. A 134 (2004) 579-594] for the speed with small initial perturbation and by Lin and Mei [C.-K. Lin, M. Mei, On travelling wavefronts of the Nicholson's blowflies equations with diffusion, submitted for publication] for c>c with sufficiently small delay time r≈0. The approach adopted in this paper is the technical weighted energy method used in [M. Mei, J.W.-H. So, M.Y. Li, S.S.P. Shen, Asymptotic stability of traveling waves for the Nicholson's blowflies equation with diffusion, Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. A 134 (2004) 579-594], but inspired by Gourley [S.A. Gourley, Linear stability of travelling fronts in an age-structured reaction-diffusion population model, Quart. J. Mech. Appl. Math. 58 (2005) 257-268] and based on the property of the critical wavefronts, the weight function is carefully selected and it plays a key role in proving the stability for any c>c and for an arbitrary time-delay r>0.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the spatial dynamics of a nonlocal and time-delayed reaction-diffusion system, which is motivated by an age-structured population model with distributed maturation delay. The spreading speed c*, the existence of traveling waves with the wave speed c?c*, and the nonexistence of traveling waves with c<c* are obtained. It turns out that the spreading speed coincides with the minimal wave speed for monotone traveling waves.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the stability of non-monotone traveling waves for a discrete diffusion equation with monostable convolution type nonlinearity. By using the anti-weighted energy method and nonlin-ear Halanay’s inequality, we prove that all noncritical traveling waves (waves with speeds c > c*, c* is minimal speed) are time-exponentially stable, when the initial perturbations around the waves are small. As a corollary of our stability result, we immediately obtain the uniqueness of the traveling waves.  相似文献

This paper studies the multidimensional stability of traveling fronts in monostable reaction-difusion equations, including Ginzburg-Landau equations and Fisher-KPP equations.Eckmann and Wayne(1994)showed a one-dimensional stability result of traveling fronts with speeds c c(the critical speed)under complex perturbations. In the present work,we prove that these traveling fronts are also asymptotically stable subject to complex perturbations in multiple space dimensions(n=2,3),employing weighted energy methods.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence, asymptotic stability and uniqueness of traveling wavefronts in a nonlocal diffusion equation with delay. By constructing proper upper and lower solutions, the existence and asymptotic behavior of traveling wavefronts are established. Then the asymptotic stability with phase shift as well as the uniqueness up to translation of traveling wavefronts are proved by applying the idea of squeezing technique.  相似文献

A diffusive Lotka-Volterra type model with nonlocal delays for two competitive species is considered. The existence of a traveling wavefront analogous to a bistable wavefront for a single species is proved by transforming the system with nonlocal delays to a four-dimensional system without delay. Furthermore, in order to prove the asymptotic stability (up to translation) of bistable wavefronts of the system, the existence, regularity and comparison theorem of solutions of the corresponding Cauchy problem are first established for the systems on R by appealing to the theory of abstract functional differential equations. The asymptotic stability (up to translation) of bistable wavefronts are then proved by spectral methods. In particular, we also prove that the spreading speed is unique by upper and lower solutions technique. From the point of view of ecology, our results indicate that the nonlocal delays appeared in the interaction terms are not sensitive to the invasion of species of spatial isolation.  相似文献

We study the existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic stability of time periodic traveling wave solutions to a periodic diffusive Lotka–Volterra competition system. Under certain conditions, we prove that there exists a maximal wave speed c? such that for each wave speed c?c?, there is a time periodic traveling wave connecting two semi-trivial periodic solutions of the corresponding kinetic system. It is shown that such a traveling wave is unique modulo translation and is monotone with respect to its co-moving frame coordinate. We also show that the traveling wave solutions with wave speed c<c? are asymptotically stable in certain sense. In addition, we establish the nonexistence of time periodic traveling waves for nonzero speed c>c?.  相似文献

We study the existence of traveling wave solutions for a nonlocal and non-monotone delayed reaction-diffusion equation. Based on the construction of two associated auxiliary reaction diffusion equations with monotonicity and by using the traveling wavefronts of the auxiliary equations, the existence of the positive traveling wave solutions for c 〉 c. is obtained. Also, the exponential asymptotic behavior in the negative infinity was established. Moreover, we apply our results to some reactiondiffusion equations with spatio-temporal delay to obtain the existence of traveling waves. These results cover, complement and/or improve some existing ones in the literature.  相似文献

A class of integral equations without monotonicity is investigated. It is shown that there is a spreading speed c>0 for such an integral equation, and that its limiting integral equation admits a unique traveling wave (up to translation) with speed c?c and no traveling wave with c<c. These results are also applied to some nonlocal reaction-diffusion population models.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the traveling wave solutions and the spreading speeds for a nonlocal dispersal equation with convolution-type crossing-monostable nonlinearity, which is motivated by an age-structured population model with time delay. We first prove the existence of traveling wave solution with critical wave speed c = c*. By introducing two auxiliary monotone birth functions and using a fluctuation method, we further show that the number c = c* is also the spreading speed of the corresponding initial value problem with compact support. Then, the nonexistence of traveling wave solutions for c < c* is established. Finally, by means of the (technical) weighted energy method, we prove that the traveling wave with large speed is exponentially stable, when the initial perturbation around the wave is relatively small in a weighted norm.  相似文献

In a recent paper [P. Bates, A. Chmaj, A discrete convolution model for phase transition, Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 150 (1999) 281-305], a discrete convolution model for Ising-like phase transition has been derived, and the existence, uniqueness of traveling waves and stability of stationary solution have been studied. This nonlocal model describes l2-gradient flow for a Helmholts free energy functional with general range interaction. In this paper, by using the comparison principle and the squeezing technique, we prove that the traveling wavefronts with nonzero speed is globally asymptotic stable with phase shift.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of traveling fronts of reaction-diffusion equations with periodic advection in the whole plane R2. We are interested in curved fronts satisfying some “conical” conditions at infinity. We prove that there is a minimal speed c such that curved fronts with speed c exist if and only if cc. Moreover, we show that such curved fronts are decreasing in the direction of propagation, that is, they are increasing in time. We also give some results about the asymptotic behaviors of the speed with respect to the advection, diffusion and reaction coefficients.  相似文献

This is the second part of a series of study on the stability of traveling wavefronts of reaction-diffusion equations with time delays. In this paper we will consider a nonlocal time-delayed reaction-diffusion equation. When the initial perturbation around the traveling wave decays exponentially as x→−∞ (but the initial perturbation can be arbitrarily large in other locations), we prove the asymptotic stability of all traveling waves for the reaction-diffusion equation, including even the slower waves whose speed are close to the critical speed. This essentially improves the previous stability results by Mei and So [M. Mei, J.W.-H. So, Stability of strong traveling waves for a nonlocal time-delayed reaction-diffusion equation, Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. A 138 (2008) 551-568] for the speed with a small initial perturbation. The approach we use here is the weighted energy method, but the weight function is more tricky to construct due to the property of the critical wavefront, and the difficulty arising from the nonlocal nonlinearity is also overcome. Finally, by using the Crank-Nicholson scheme, we present some numerical results which confirm our theoretical study.  相似文献

We establish the existence of a continuous family of fast positive wavefronts u(t,x)=?(x+ct), ?(−)=0, ?(+)=κ, for the non-local delayed reaction-diffusion equation . Here 0 and κ>0 are fixed points of gC2(R+,R+) and the non-negative K is such that is finite for every real λ. We also prove that the fast wavefronts are non-monotone if .  相似文献

We show that for any k-connected graph having cocircumference c*, there is a cycle which intersects every cocycle of size c*-k + 2 or greater. We use this to show that in a 2-connected graph, there is a family of at most c* cycles for which each edge of the graph belongs to at least two cycles in the family. This settles a question raised by Oxley. A certain result known for cycles and cocycles in graphs is extended to matroids. It is shown that for a k-connected regular matroid having circumference c ≥ 2k if C1 and C2 are disjoint circuits satisfying r(C1)+r(C2)=r(C1C2), then |C1|+|C2|≤2(c-k + 1).  相似文献

We consider an eigenvalue problem associated to the antiplane shearing on a system of collinear faults under a slip-dependent friction law. Firstly we consider a periodic system of faults in the whole plane. We prove that the first eigenvalues/eigenfunctions of different physical periodicity are all equal and that the other eigenvalues converge to this first common eigenvalue as their physical period becomes indefinitely large. Secondly we consider a large scale fault system composed on a small scale collinear faults periodically disposed. If β0* is the first eigenvalue of the periodic problem in the whole plane, we prove that the first eigenvalue of the microscopic problem behaves as β0*/∈ when ∈→ 0 regardless the geometry of the domain (here ∈ is the scale quotient). The geophysical implications of this result is that the macroscopic critical slip Dc scales with Dc/∈ (here Dc is the small scale critical slip).  相似文献
