A simple and cost effective method for making holographic optics-based interferometer, which is suitable for performing optical test studies on phase (transparent) objects in real-time, has been described. The optical arrangement in the proposed method involves a very simple alignment procedure and inexpensive holographic recording material is used in the formation of holographic optical elements. Recording schemes for the formation of holographic optical elements and the related techniques for the realisation of the proposed interferometer along with typical experimental results have been presented.  相似文献

A holographic optical element (HOE) based single-mode hybrid fiber optic interferometer for realizing the zero-order fringe is described. The HOE proposed and used integrates the actions of a beam combiner and a lens, and endows the interferometer with high tolerance for repositioning errors. 定量测定光源空间相干性在部分相干光成像, 非相干全息术及光信息处理领域具有重要的研究价值. 本文基于三角全息干涉光路提出了一种测量光源空间相干性的新方法. 利用三角干涉全息光路系统中分束镜产生的孪生光束进行干涉获得干涉图, 通过调整光源中心位置在写入平面内偏离光轴的量, 改变两孪生光束空间分离量的大小, 采集对应的一系列干涉图, 计算干涉图样的对比度, 从而对光源照明空间的波前上一系列不同距离的点对之间的空间复相干度进行测量. 实验系统光路配置较为简单且不需要使用特殊加工的光学元件. 针对一个准单色的扩展光源设计并进行实验, 结果表明利用文中提出的方法可以准确的测量光源的空间相干性, 实验结果相对于理论计算值的误差仅为3.8%. 关键词: 相干性 全息干涉 干涉仪 光学应用  相似文献

We report a simple, compact electronic speckle-pattern interferometer (ESPI) incorporating holographic optical elements (HOEs) for the study of out-of-plane vibration. Reflection and transmission HOEs provide reference and object beams in the interferometer. The alignment difficulties with conventional ESPI systems are minimized using HOEs. The time-average ESPI subtraction method is used to generate the fringe pattern and remove background speckle noise by introducing a phase shift between consecutive images. The amplitude and phase maps are obtained using path-difference modulation.  相似文献

Conventional methods of measuring the various parameters of holographic optical elements are tedious for mass production. A novel approach is described for the holographic elements used in the holographic sight, in which the parameters are defined and measured as per their intended final application. Since the holographic sight is used for accurate target acquisition along with the other features, parallax in the sight becomes a critical parameter. Besides, the maximum brightness of the reticle is another parameter of the device, which is important for the use of sight in the strong sunlight in summers. There are two holographic elements, namely holographic reticle and holographic lens in the sight. Both can be tested in a simple set-up in terms of the parallax of the sight and the brightness of the reticle. The masters for both elements are required to be benchmarked once and rest of the elements in a mass production can be tested with the reference of masters.  相似文献

In this study, an improved phase-shifting diffraction interferometer for measuring the surface topography of a microsphere is developed. A common diode-pumped solid state laser is used as the light source to facilitate apparatus realization, and a new polarized optical arrangement is designed to filter the bias light for phase-shifting control. A pinhole diffraction self-calibration method is proposed to eliminate systematic errors introduced by optical elements. The system has an adjustable signal contrast and is suitable for testing the surface with low reflectivity. Finally, a spherical ruby probe of a coordinate measuring machine is used as an example tested by the new phase-shifting diffraction interferometer system and the WYKO scanning white light interferometer for experimental comparison. The measured region presents consistent overall topography features, and the resulting peak-to-valley value of 84.43 nm and RMS value of 18.41 nm are achieved. The average roughness coincides with the manufacturer's specification value.  相似文献

A holographic interferometer senses vapor-induced optical path length changes in polymer or other chemically sensitive films. The interferometer is inherently sensitive to changes in chemical vapor content, self-compensates for drifts, and accommodates a large array of sensor elements. A sniff-locked-loop synchronous detection method takes advantage of the interferometer's rapid response to achieve vapor concentration sensitivity in the parts-per-billion (ppb, parts in 10(9)) range. We demonstrate, for example, 40 ppb sensitivity to ethyl alcohol using poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) with a measurement time of 5 s.  相似文献

In this paper, an optical surface curvature measurement technique based on digital holography is proposed. Unlike the previous digital holographic methods, which only involve a small part of the measured data for parameter estimation, the proposed method adopts more of them using least square method. Hence, the analyzed result is not affected by data extraction direction and less sensitive to imperfect phase compensation. The proposed method is demonstrated with a sample of reflection mirror in laser resonator, and verified by comparing the measurement result with that of the white light interferometer.  相似文献

A laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) is described in which holographic optical elements are used to provide the interferometer reference and object illumination beams. A complementary metal-oxide semiconductor camera, incorporating a digital signal processor, is used to carry out real-time signal processing of the interferometer output to allow multipoint LDV to be implemented.  相似文献

We present here the realization of fast electrically switchable holographic optical elements based on electric field multiplexing of volume holograms in lithium niobate crystals. We demonstrate the electrical control of holographic lenses and holographic mirrors for fast switching of the focal length and the direction of the reconstructed light beam, respectively. The switching time in the range of few hundred microseconds has been demonstrated using this technique.  相似文献

Two measuring methods of the plane diffraction grating spacing error are presented in this work. The first one resembles real- time holographic interferometry. The hologram is exposed when an object beam is the nth diffraction order, and is then illuminated by the -nth diffraction order wave. The second method makes use of double-exposure holographic interferometry. The first exposure is performed when the nth diffraction order is an object beam. During the second exposure the -nth diffraction order is an object beam. Both methods allow to measure the spacing error separately, not only from the grating surface error but also from the aberrations introduced by the other optical elements of the set-up.  相似文献

A system employing the radio frequency holographic method for the measurement of the reverberation time of an acoustic chamber is proposed. This system has the advantage of supplying visible information on the diminishing intensity of the acoustic wave. A simple mathematical model has been taken to discuss the basic principles involved in the system. A new method for studying transparent objects with a small transverse size is considered. The method is based on lateral-shift holographic interferometry combining the displacement of the transparent object under investigation between the recordings of a pair of holographic interference patterns and their optical treatment. The interference patterns of the transparent object under investigation with a lateral shift equal to or larger than the linear size of the object are equivalent to the interference patterns obtained in a double-beam interferometer with a reference wave. In addition, such patterns are characterized by a higher sensitivity of imaging of optical inhomogeneities of the object under investigation. The results of experiments on testing this method for monitoring optical inhomogeneities of the active medium crystal of a solid-state laser are reported. The resultant interference patterns depict optical inhomogeneity of the crystal with a sensitivity 12 times higher.  相似文献

A method for determining the reflection coefficients of optical elements, which is based on the use of a reflection interferometer, is proposed. The results of measurements with a He–Ne laser for several samples with different reflectivity levels are presented. Comparison with results of conventional measurements is made. Holographic interferometry offers the potential for quantitative, wholefield analysis of three-dimensional compressible flows. The technique is non-intrusive, does not require the introduction of seeding particles, and records the entire flow information within the pulse duration of a Q-switched ruby laser (˜30ns). At present, however, holographic interferometry is mainly used qualitatively due to the practical restrictions of data recording, acquisition and processing.To address the potential of holographic flow analysis a prototype multi-channel interferometer has been designed and preliminary wind tunnel results have been obtained. The proposed configuration uses specular illumination which, unlike comparable diffuse systems, does not suffer from fringe localisation and speckle noise. Beam collimation and steering through the flow field is achieved in a single operation by the use of holographic optical elements (HOEs). The resulting design is compact, light efficient, has aberration compensation, and the recorded data are conducive to both tomographic analysis and direct comparison to computational fluid dynamics (CFD) predictions.Holograms have been recorded of simple two-dimensional and axisymmetric compressible flows, to compare the accuracy of holographic density measurements with data from conventional pressure sensors and CFD codes. Data extraction from the holograms, and the elimination of rigid body motion, was achieved using digital Fourier transform fringe analysis. The introduction of phase errors by image processing has been investigated by analysing simulated fringe patterns generated from a combination of experimental amplitude information and computer generated phase data.  相似文献

The novel experimental realization of four-level optical quantum systems (ququarts) is presented. We exploit the polarization properties of the frequency nondegenerate biphoton field to obtain such systems. In this paper we present an electronic speckle pattern shearing interferometer using a photopolymer diffractive optical element in the form of a holographic grating, in combination with a ground glass to shear the images. The sheared images on the ground glass are further imaged onto a CCD camera. The distance between the grating and the ground glass can be used to control the shear and to vary the sensitivity of the system. The direction of sensitivity is easily controlled by rotation of the diffraction grating around its normal.Introducing photopolymer holographic gratings in ESPSI gives the advantage of using high aperture optical elements at relatively low cost. The fact that the diffractive optical element is a photopolymer layer on glass substrate with thickness of 2 mm makes for a compact optical system.The system was successfully used for detection of the resonant frequencies of a vibrating object.Most of the published work on vibration analysis is analytical. Very few experimental results are available in the literature. The well known laser Doppler vibrometers (LDV) and accelerometers used for modal analysis are pointwise measurement techniques, although multipoint LDV is available at significant cost.Electronic speckle pattern techniques suitable for experimental detection of the resonant frequencies of vibrating objects are very promising for vibration analysis because they are whole field and non-contact.A finite element model is developed for prediction of the vibration modes of the object under test. Detection of vibrational modes of aluminium diaphragm is demonstrated and compared with the theoretical model. The results obtained are very promising for future application of ESPSI systems with HOEs, for modal analysis. A significant advantage of shearography over electronic speckle pattern interferometry is that ESPSI is relatively insensitive to external disturbances. Another advantage of the proposed system is that it could be easily converted to a phase-shifting electronic speckle shearing interferometer.  相似文献

A multiple image cryptosystem based on different apertures in an optical set-up under a holographic arrangement is proposed. The system is a security architecture that uses different pupil aperture mask in the encoding lens to encrypt different images. Based on this approach multiple encryption is achieved by changing the pupil aperture arrangement of the optical system among exposures. In addition to the classical speckle phase mask, the geometrical parameters characterizing the apertures are introduced to increase the system security. Even when an illegal user steals the speckle phase mask, the system cannot be broken into without the correct pupil geometrical parameters. The experimental set-up is based on a volume photorefractive BSO crystal as storing device. Information retrieval is done via a phase conjugation operation. We also have to stress that the multiple storage under this scheme, is only possible with the help of the aperture mask. Simulation and experimental results are further introduced to verify the proposed method.  相似文献
