We develop a Galois theory for systems of linear difference equations with periodic parameters, for which we also introduce linear difference algebraic groups. We apply this to constructively test if solutions of linear q-difference equations, with q ∈ ?* and q not a root of unity, satisfy any polynomial ζ-difference equations with ζ t  = 1, t ≥ 1.  相似文献

We consider modular pairs of certain second-order q-difference equations. An example of such a pair is the t-Q Baxter equations for the quantum relativistic Toda lattice in the strong coupling regime. Another example from quantum mechanics is q-deformation of the Schrödinger equation with a hyperbolic potential. We show that the analyticity condition for the wave function or the Baxter function leads to a set of transcendental equations for the coefficients of the potential or the transfer matrix, the solution of which is their discrete spectrum.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 142, No. 3, pp. 500–509, March, 2005.  相似文献

We derive raising and lowering operators for orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle and find second order differential and q-difference equations for these polynomials. A general functional equation is found which allows one to relate the zeros of the orthogonal polynomials to the stationary values of an explicit quasi-energy and implies recurrences on the orthogonal polynomial coefficients. We also evaluate the discriminants and quantized discriminants of polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle.  相似文献

We study polynomial-type solutions of the q-Heun equation, which is related with quasi-exact solvability. The condition that the q-Heun equation has a non-zero polynomial-type solution is described by the roots of the spectral polynomial, whose variable is the accessory parameter E. We obtain sufficient conditions that the roots of the spectral polynomial are all real and distinct. We consider the ultradiscrete limit to clarify the roots of the spectral polynomial and the zeros of the polynomial-type solution of the q-Heun equation.  相似文献

Asymptotic diagonalizations of linear differential equations are studied by several authors. The problems for linear difference equations are investigated recently by Bodine and Sacker. In their work, the full spectrum condition plays essential role. Here we consider a related problem for q-difference equations, |q| < 1, which do not satisfy the full spectrum condition. Our tool is the Arnold normal form for matrix.  相似文献

In this paper, we give a characterization of some classical q-orthogonal polynomials in terms of a difference property of the associated Stieltjes function, i.e. this function solves a first-order non-homogeneous q-difference equation. The solutions of the aforementioned q-difference equation (given in terms of hypergeometric series) for some canonical cases, namely, q-Charlier, q-Kravchuk, q-Meixner and q-Hahn, are worked out.  相似文献

This contribution deals with multiple orthogonal polynomials of type II with respect to q-discrete measures (q-Hahn measures). In addition, we show that this family of multiple orthogonal polynomials has a lowering operator, and raising operators, as well as a Rodrigues type formula. The combination of lowering and raising operators leads to a third order q-difference equation when two orthogonality conditions are considered. An explicit expression of this q-difference equation will be given. Indeed, this q-difference equation relates polynomials with a given degree evaluated at four consecutive non-uniformed distributed points, which makes these polynomials interesting from the point of view of bispectral problems.  相似文献

We propose an algorithm to put linear recurrent systems in a form which is convenient for using the systems to search for polynomial, power series, Laurent series, and other types of solutions of various linear functional systems (differential, difference and q-difference). Some algorithms to search for solutions of functional systems are described. None of the proposed algorithms requires preliminary uncoupling of linear systems  相似文献

A Rodrigues type representation for the second kind solution of a second-order q-difference equation of hypergeometric type is given. This representation contains some q-extensions of integrals related with relevant special functions. For these integrals, a general recurrence relation, which only involves the coefficients of the q-difference equation, is also presented.  相似文献

Similar to the problem of linearization, the “small divisor problem” also arises in the discussion of invertible analytic solutions of a class of q-difference equations. In this paper we give the existence of such solutions under the Brjuno condition and prove that the equation may not have a nontrivial analytic solution when the Brjuno condition is violated. These results are applied to discussing a nonlinear iterative equation.  相似文献

In this paper, some analytic approaches are formulated for the existence of analytic solutions of analytic nonlinear difference equations. From the point of view of dynamical systems, analytic solutions of such kinds of equations can be generally expressed by formal power series of exponential variables, so we are interested in considering a difference equation as a q-difference equation via a suitable coordinate transformation. After stating analytic results for formal series solutions of nonlinear q-difference equations, we also derive some results for the existence of analytic solutions to autonomous rational difference equations.  相似文献

Theq-extended hyperbolic functions ofn-th order {h q,s(z)}s∈ Z n which areZ n-components of expq function form the set fundamental solutions of a simpleq-difference equation. Against the background ofq-deformed hyperbolic functions ofn-th order other natural extensions and related topics are considered. Apart from easy general solution of homogenous ordinaryq-difference equations ofn-th order main trigonometric-like identity known for hyperbolic functions ofn-th order is given itsq-commutative counterpart. Hint how to arrive at other identities is implicit in theq-treatment proposed. The paper constitutes an example of the application of the method of projections presented in Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras publication [19]; see also references to Ben Cheikh’s papers.  相似文献

We present an asymmetric q-Painlevé equation. We will derive this using q-orthogonal polynomials with respect to generalized Freud weights: their recurrence coefficients will obey this q-Painlevé equation (up to a simple transformation). We will show a stable method of computing a special solution, which gives the recurrence coefficients. We establish a connection with α-q-PV.  相似文献

The kernel function of Cauchy type for type BC is defined as a solution of linear q-difference equations. In this paper, we show that this kernel function intertwines the commuting family of van Diejen’s q-difference operators. This result gives rise to a transformation formula for certain multiple basic hypergeometric series of type BC. We also construct a new infinite family of commuting q-difference operators for which the Koornwinder polynomials are joint eigenfunctions.  相似文献

The bispectral quantum Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov (BqKZ) equation corresponding to the affine Hecke algebra H of type A N-1 is a consistent system of q-difference equations which in some sense contains two families of Cherednik’s quantum affine Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations for meromorphic functions with values in principal series representations of H. In this paper, we extend this construction of BqKZ to the case where H is the affine Hecke algebra associated with an arbitrary irreducible reduced root system. We construct explicit solutions of BqKZ and describe its correspondence to a bispectral problem involving Macdonald’s q-difference operators.  相似文献

We obtain sufficient conditions for the asymptotic convergence of all solutions of a scalar q-difference equation with double delays. Moreover, we prove that the limits of the solutions could be formulated in terms of the initial functions and the solution of a corresponding sum equation.  相似文献

The investigation of a q -analogue of the convolution on the line, started in conjunction with Koornwinder, is continued, with special attention to the approximation of functions by means of the convolution. A new space of functions that forms an increasing chain of algebras (with respect to the q -convolution), depending on a parameter s>0 , is constructed. For a special value of the parameter the corresponding algebra is commutative and unital, and is shown to be the quotient of an algebra studied in a previous paper modulo the kernel of a q -analogue of the Fourier transform. This result has an analytic interpretation in terms of analytic functions, whose q -moments have a (fast) decreasing behavior and allows the extension of Koornwinder's inversion formula for the q -Fourier transform. A few results on the invertibility of functions with respect to the q -convolution are also obtained and they are applied to the solution of certain simple linear q -difference equations with polynomial coefficients.  相似文献

We develop a tree method for multidimensional q-Hahn polynomials. We define them as eigenfunctions of a multidimensional q-difference operator and we use the factorization of this operator as a key tool. Then we define multidimensional q-Racah polynomials as the connection coefficients between different bases of q-Hahn polynomials. We show that our multidimensional q-Racah polynomials may be expressed as product of ordinary one-dimensional q-Racah polynomial by means of a suitable sequence of transplantations of edges of the trees. Our paper is inspired to the classical tree methods in the theory of Clebsch–Gordan coefficients and of hyperspherical coordinates. It is based on previous work of Dunkl, who considered two-dimensional q-Hahn polynomials. It is also related to a recent paper of Gasper and Rahman: we show that their multidimensional q-Racah polynomials correspond to a particular case of our construction.  相似文献
