A variety of rigorous inequalities for critical exponents is proved. Most notable is the low-temperature Josephson inequalitydv +2 2–. Others are 1 1 +v, 1 1 , 1,d 1 + 1/ (for d),dv, 3 + (for d), 4 , and 2m 2m+2 (form 2). The hypotheses vary; all inequalities are true for the spin-1/2 Ising model with nearest-neighbor ferromagnetic pair interactions.NSF Predoctoral Fellow (1976–1979). Furthermore if the pair { ,G} is asymptotically abelian, is ergodic iff is ergodic. Transitive ergodic states (corresponding to transitive central measures) are centrally decomposed into primary states whose isotropy groups form a conjugacy class of subgroups. IfG is locally compact and acts continuously on , the associated covariant representations of { , } are those induced by such subgroups. Transitive states under time-translations must be primary if required to be stable. The last section offers a complete classification of the isotropy groups of the primary states occurring in the central decomposition of euclidean transitive ergodic invariant states.  相似文献

The quantity characterizing the steepness of the exponential tail of the fundamental absorption edge is studied. The uniform nearest particle system (UNPS) is studied, which is a continuoustime Markov process with state space . The rigorous upper bound (mf) = ( – 1)/ for the order parameter 2, is given by the correlation identity and the FKG inequality. Then an improvement of this bound (mf) is shown in a similar fashion; C( – 1)/|log( – 1) for >1. Recently, Mountford proved that the critical value c=1. Combining his result and our improved bound implies that if the critical exponent exists, it is strictly greater than the mean-field value 1 in the weak sense.  相似文献

The thermodynamic behavior of the Bose–Hubbard model is solved for any temperature and any chemical potential. It is found that there is a range of critical coupling strengths c1 < c2 < c3 < in this model. For coupling strengths between c,k and c,k+1, Bose–Einstein condensation is suppressed at densities near the integer values = 1,...,k with an energy gap. This is known as a Mott insulator phase and was previously shown only for zero temperature. In the context of ultra-cold atoms, this phenomenon was experimentally observed in 2002(1) but, in the Bose–Hubbard model, it manifests itself also in the pressure-volume diagram at high pressures. It is suggested that this phenomenon persists for finite-range hopping and might also be experimentally observable.  相似文献

We consider general even ferromagnetic systems with pair interactions in a nonnegative external magnetic fieldh. We extend the bichromatic majority model by including (one-dimensional isotropic) correlations and numerically discuss, through Monte Carlo simulations, the simple, 1/3, and 2/3 majority rules. We calculate, as functions of the concentration and correlation degree, the mean finite cluster size, and the order parameterm as well as their respective critical exponents and. We find1 regardless of the correlation degree or the type of majority. Also, a supplementary divergence of is observed at the>0 borderline.  相似文献

Quantum shot noise consists of individual pulses which contribute time-dependent (operator) potentials toward a total potentialV(t). The averaged quantity T exp t0 t dtV(t) in general can no longer be calculated explicitly, in contrast to the classical case, and expansions are of interest. Noncommutative cumulant expansions are not directly applicable if the correlation functions ofV(t) have singularities, as happens in applications. It is shown here that these expansions, when applied to quantum shot noise, can be partially summed to give expansions in powers of the pulse density. Three types of such expansions are established explicitly, and for two of them the derivation is direct. For one of them the first-order approximation is closely connected to the so-called unified theory of spectral-line broadening.  相似文献

We consider a semi-infinite 3-dimensional Ising system with a rough wall to describe the effect of the roughness r of the substrate on wetting. We show that the difference of wall free energies (r)= AW(r)– BW(r) of the two phases behaves like (r)r(1), where r=1 characterizes a purely flat surface, confirming at low enough temperature and small roughness the validity of Wenzel's law, cos (r)r cos (1), which relates the contact angle of a sessile droplet to the roughness of the substrate  相似文献

We propose a new method for solving radiation transport problems, which permits including in analytic form for the case of normal incidence the effect of spatial finiteness of the scattering medium. The formation of the light field accompanying changes in the optical parameters and optical dimensions of the medium is analyzed.this paper, we examine the simplest case of a geometry of a scattering medium in the form of a parallelipiped with optical length x, height y, and width z. The analysis is performed for the case =1, y = z with the latter varying in the range 0.1 to . The results obtained show that the light field depends strongly on the optical dimensions of the medium. Nuclear responses for neutrinos and neutrino studies in Mo nuclei are briefly reported. Nuclear spin-isospin responses for neutrinos are crucial for neutrino studies in nuclei. Spin-isospin responses for solar neutrinos, supernova neutrinos and neutrinos involved in double-beta decays are discussed. It is of great interest to study neutrino masses and low energy solar neutrinos. It is shown that it is possible to carry out with 100Mo both spectroscopic studies of double-beta decays with the sensitivity of the order of m 0.03eV and real-time exclusive studies of the low energy solar neutrinos.  相似文献

The purpose of this article is the study of the new class of multifractal measures, which combines additive and multiplicative chaos, defined bywhere is any positive Borel measure on [0,1] and b is an integer 2. The singularities analysis of the measures , involves new results on the mass distribution of when describes large classes of multifractal measures. These results generalize ubiquity theorems associated with the Lebesgue measure.Under suitable assumptions on , the multifractal spectrum of , is linear on [0,h, ] for some critical value h, . Then is strictly concave on the right of h, , and on this part it is deduced from the multifractal spectrum of by an affine transformation. This untypical shape is the result of the combination between Dirac masses and atomless multifractal measures. These measures satisfy multifractal formalisms. They open interesting perspectives in modeling discontinuous phenomena.  相似文献

We investigate correlation inequalities for Ising ferromagnets with continuous spins, giving a simple unified derivation of inequalities of Griffiths, Ginibre, Percus, Lebowitz, and Ellis and Monroe. The single-spin measure and Hamiltonian for which an inequality may be proved become more restricted as the inequality becomes more complex. However, all results hold for a model with ferromagnetic pair interactions, positive (nonuniform) external field, and single-spin measure eitherv() = [1/(l + 1)] x f=0/l (–l +2j +) (spinl/2) ordv() = exp [–P()]d, whereP is an even polynomial all of whose coefficients must be positive except the quadratic, which is arbitrary. The Lebowitz correlation inequality is a corollary of the Ellis-Monroe inequality. As an application, we generalize the method of van Beijeren to establish a sharp phase interface at low temperature in nearest neighbor ferromagnets of at least three dimensions with arbitrary (symmetric) single-spin measure.Supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Grants MPS 73-05037 and MPS 75-20638. A cluster of two atoms described by thes-f model with Coulomb repulsion has been considered. The interaction between localized 4f electrons (S=1/2) is taken in the molecular field approximation. The thermodynamic quantities like magnetization, specific heat and correlation functions n , n , S z n , S z n , S z (n n ), n n and S + a + a as functions of temperature are presented for different band fillingN=0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2. The dependence of Curie temperature onN is calculated. The phase diagram forN=1 (T=0K) shows the possibility of existence of two phases: paramagnetic and ferromagnetic.The Curie temperature and the specific heat as functions ofN exhibit similar trends as found in experiments on doped magnetic semiconductors.  相似文献
