选取高品质因数的圆弓形散射元微腔构建耦合波导,通过改变散射元参数和耦合腔散射元平移等方法,得出光子晶体耦合腔波导结构的慢光变化规律,并实现很好平带下的极高群折射率。模拟结果显示,不同微腔个数的耦合波导,通过调整短轴/长轴之比和散射元平移等方式,不仅可以获得各种平带慢光曲线,还可以获得群折射率从4.10×104到1.35×105的超低慢光结构。  相似文献

在线缺陷光子晶体波导中,利用矩形孔和椭圆孔分别替代临近线缺陷的第二行和第一、三行圆形孔,构成矩形孔光子晶体波导结构.利用平面波展开法对波导的慢光特性进行仿真分析,研究矩形孔的非对称性对慢光带宽和色散特性的影响.研究表明,在慢光区域平均群折射率变化为±10%的情况下,与圆形孔线缺陷波导相比,得到的导模能更好地限制在禁带中,而且当矩形孔宽度参量小于高度参量时,导模可以得到归一化延迟带宽积更大、带宽更宽、色散更小的慢光.通过对波导中矩形孔参量的优化,得到的慢光归一化延迟带宽积最大为0.402,此时带宽为44.4nm,群速度色散为8.0ps2/mm.  相似文献

提出具有高群有效折射率的双环级联作为核心元件的谐振式平面光波导陀螺结构, 基于光学Sagnac原理得到了双微环耦合谐振式光学陀螺理论灵敏度与群有效折射率的一般表达式和双环与单环陀螺系统的灵敏度关系, 并由耦合模理论方法得到了双环系统耦合器的两个透射系数对应的群有效折射率变化情况. 在环腔半径R1=R2=100 μm、环腔传输损耗系数t1=t2=0.95的情况下, 针对环与环之间耦合器和环与波导之间耦合器透射系数对群有效折射率的不同影响, 得到了最大群有效折射率的产生条件. 采用文中参数(R=100 μm, t=0.95)计算的单环谐振式陀螺灵敏度为(104-105)°/h, 而双环级联谐振系统理论灵敏度能够达到10 °/h. 该研究对微环耦合谐振腔在角速度检测上的应用有重要的意义.  相似文献

应用有效折射率/有限元法(EI-FEM),考虑到LiNbO3晶体和Ti扩散的各向异性,折射率增量与寻常光、非寻常光及波长色散的关系,设计了1.55μm光波长下工作的z切y传播Ti:LiNbO3单模条波导的制备参数,计算和分析了其单模特性、模式场分布及其变化规律.扩展了EI-FEM,将其用于求解耦合波导系统,确定了方向耦合器的耦合长度及其波长色散特性.  相似文献

将增益介质加入金属环构成的表面等离子体激元耦合共振波导,利用传输矩阵及时域有限差分方法研究了不同增益系数下该耦合共振波导的透射谱线、色散关系以及群折射率.结果表明,增益介质共振频率附近的反常色散及正常色散变化能有效影响由共振波导几何结构决定的色散关系曲线,且具有相反的效果,分别使其变得平坦和陡峭,从而放大和缩小由共振波导几何结构决定的群折射率.另外,增益系数随外加抽运光改变的特点使得加入增益介质的耦合共振波导具有传输性能可灵活调节特性.文章的研究对促进耦合共振波导在高密度光学集成中的广泛应用具有积极意义. 关键词: 增益介质 耦合共振波导 表面等离子体激元 群折射率  相似文献

研究了单光子晶体界面介质波导中的慢光效应.芯层-空气层界面的全内反射效应以及光子晶体基底的禁带效应共同形成了对光场能量的横向约束.用基于超元胞的平面波展开法计算得到了导模色散曲线,并据此对其色散、群速以及群速色散性质做了详尽分析.由于利用了色散曲线慢光区域内拐点附近低群速色散的部分,该单光子晶体界面介质波导具有良好的慢光特性.对两个不同导模计算得到的平均群速分别为c/98和c/376,可用相对频带宽度分别达到2.1×10-3和4.1×10-4.另外,该慢光结构可以侧向耦合的方式克服光子晶体慢光波导耦合困难的缺点.  相似文献

对一维光子晶体中的色散介质采用洛伦兹振子模型,对线性层及色散δ层均采用传输矩阵的方法,研究了一维含色散介质的光子晶体微腔中的简正耦合模.通过改变洛伦兹振子和微腔之间的失谐频率,分析了简正耦合模频率的变化情况.在失谐频率比较大时,光与洛仑兹振子间的耦合作用较小,简正耦合模中的一个接近腔模频率,而另一个则接近洛仑兹振子的共振频率;在失谐频率比较小时,光与洛仑兹振子间的耦合作用较大,简正耦合模与未耦合的腔模频率和洛仑兹振子的共振频率之间的差别较为明显.最后通过引进该结构的复有效折射率,对含色散介质的系统,由于带隙中间的共振模被湮灭并分裂为左右两个耦合模,其复有效折射率虚部在原共振峰处跃变为一较大值,而在新生成的两个耦合模附近趋近于零,光与色散介质相互耦合而形成的腔极化激元的物理图像十分清晰.  相似文献

We propose an asymmetrical Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) for efficient pulse generation and compression using porous silicon (PS) waveguide, fibre delay line and couplers. We show a pulse compression of about 0.4 ns at the output port with third-order super-Gaussian input pulse in ~2 ns time duration and ~40.3 W peak power level. Also, we show the possibility of obtaining compressed single- or double-pulse with judicious choice of various parameters like input peak power, delay time and input pulse width.  相似文献

In this Letter, we propose general optimization methods to design broadband high-efficiency grating couplers for planar waveguides. We attribute the coupling bandwidth to the mismatch of effective indices between the diffracted beam and the actual grating structure around the operation wavelength for fiber to waveguide excitation. The coupling bandwidth formula is deduced. A simple parameter-separate optimization procedure is proposed for general layered grating couplers for high coupling efficiency. Using our principle, we optimized a grating coupler for a horizontal slot waveguide operating at wavelength 1.55 μm for TM polarization. The grating coupler has 1 dB bandwidth of 60 nm and coupling efficiency of 65% with incident light from single-mode optical fiber (SMF) at 8°.  相似文献

Reflection and group delay characteristics of the coupled ring reflector (CRR), consisting of two identical microrings coupled to each other and to a bus waveguide providing feedback, is analytically and numerically investigated under loss-free and lossy conditions and subject to arbitrary (asymmetric) positioning of the couplers. Allowing for a variable coupling strength, the spectral locations where the extreme values of the reflectivity occur as well as its bandwidth are determined and their sensitivity to loss evaluated. Critical coupling conditions that determine the shape and the turning points of the reflectance spectrum, and their sensitivity to loss are obtained. Attention is paid to the bandwidth maximization satisfying a prescribed ripple tolerance within the passband. Group delay in the presence of loss and circuit parameter variations is also treated.  相似文献

Circular integrated optical (ring or disk) microresonators are increasingly employed as compact and versatile wavelength filters. In this paper, we investigate a 2-D frequency domain model for these devices, based on spatial coupled mode theory. The microresonators are functionally represented in terms of two couplers with appropriate connections using bent and straight waveguides. The abstract scattering matrices of the couplers and the propagation constants of the cavity bends allow to compute the spectral responses of the resonators. Capitalizing on the availability of rigorous analytical modal solutions for bent waveguides, the constituent bent-straight waveguide couplers are modeled using a spatial coupled mode formalism derived by means of a variational principle. The resulting scattering matrices show reciprocity properties as expected according to the symmetry of the coupler structures. We present results for the spectral response and field examples for microresonators with mono- and multi-modal cavities for TE and TM polarizations. Comparisons with finite difference time domain simulations show very good overall agreement.  相似文献

To generate ultrafast femtosecond optical pulses, we propose a model of an integrated device consisting of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) with two symmetric 3 dB directional couplers and a straight waveguide based on the single-mode silicon-on-insulator (SOI) optical waveguide. The principle of pulse generation in the presented device is based on the strong stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in silicon; the center wavelength of the pulse generated is tunable by changing the center wavelength of the co-propagating pump pulse. Numerical results show that, when a continuous wave (CW) with a weak power at 1670 nm wavelength and a pump pulse with a high peak power at 1550 nm wavelength are co-propagating, a narrow femtosecond pulse with a pulse width (full width at half maximum, FWHM) of ∼60 fs (FWHM of the pump pulse is 166.5 fs) can be achieved in the device proposed. In addition, when the waveguide length, pump peak power, and pump-pulse width are fixed, the properties of generated femtosecond pulse depend strongly on the incident chirp of the pump pulse and the CW power.  相似文献

The paper presents the results of numerical analyses of optical structures realized in the form of planar waveguides made of materials with high values of the refractive index n ??1.85. The analysed structures consist of a waveguide and input-output systems. Input-output couplers are realized in the form of prisms as well as Bragg??s grating couplers. 研究和量化了拓扑和访问耦合器对光纤网络物理性能的影响。针对双总线形、星形、环形和双环形四种光纤网络拓扑,比较它们的光纤需求长度、平均传播延迟、传输衰减、最大比特率及容错。结果表明:在100个节点情况下,星形拓扑需要的光纤长度是双环形的3.8倍,而双环形的平均传播延迟是星形的3.3倍;双总线形的传输衰减最大,在10个节点情况下,要求接收器的动态灵敏度达24dB;假设使用垂直腔面激光器和渐变折射率多模光纤,使用容错耦合器导致最大比特率性能降低,双总线形和星形的最大比特率与节点数相关。这些结果可为选择光纤数据总线拓扑和访问耦合器提供参考。  相似文献

We study the coupling interaction between dielectric waveguides and coupling elements made from negative-refracting media. The coupling configuration consists of a length of dielectric waveguide, which terminates either directly into or near a planar layer composed of the negative-refracting medium, and is followed by a second waveguide. Radiation output from the first waveguide is refocused at the position of the second waveguide, so that the negative-refracting layer serves as a coupler between the waveguides. Because both isotropic negative-index layers and bilayers of indefinite media can recover the near-field, evanescent components of a source field distribution, the coupling between the input and output waveguides can be highly efficient – in principle providing perfect, lossless coupling. We present simulations and some initial experimental results illustrating the coupling effect, and speculate on the potential for optical fiber couplers and integrated modulators. We provide an overview of our recent work on developing subwavelength grating(SWG) waveguide devices as an enabling technology for integrated microwave photonics. First, we describe wavelength-selective SWG waveguide filters, including ring resonators, Bragg gratings, and contradirectional couplers. Second, we discuss the development of an index variable optical true time delay line that exploits spatial diversity in an equal-length waveguide array. These SWG waveguide components are fundamental building blocks for realizing more complex structures for advanced microwave photonic signal processing.  相似文献
