New Schiff base (H2L) ligand is prepared via condensation of o-phthaldehyde and 2-aminobenzoic acid in 1:2 ratio. Metal complexes are prepared and characterized using elemental analyses, IR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance, 1H NMR, ESR and thermal analysis (TGA). From the elemental analyses data, the complexes were proposed to have the general formulae [MCl(L)(H2O)]·2H2O (where M = Cr(III) and Fe(III)); [M(L)]·yH2O (where M = Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), y = 1–2) and [M(L)(H2O)nyH2O (where M = Co(II) (n = y = 2), Co(II) (n = y = 1), Ni(II) (n = 2, y = 1). The molar conductance data reveal that all the metal chelates were non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that H2L is coordinated to the metal ions in a bi-negative tetradentate manner with NOON donor sites of the azomethine-N and carboxylate-O. The 1H NMR spectral data indicate that the two carboxylate protons are also displaced during complexation. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it was found that the geometrical structure of these complexes are octahedral (Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II) and Ni(II)), square planar (Cu(II)), trigonal bipyramidal (Co(II)) and tetrahedral (Mn(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II)). The thermal behaviour of these chelates showed that the hydrated complexes losses water molecules of hydration in the first step followed immediately by decomposition of the ligand molecule in the subsequent steps. The biological activity data show that the metal complexes to be more potent/antibacterial than the parent Shciff base ligand against one or more bacterial species.  相似文献

The first use of dipyridocarbenes as Arduengo–Wanzlick type carbene ligands for transition metal complexes is reported. The complexes M(CO)5L (L = dipyridoimidazolinylidene, di-tert-butyldipyridoimidazolinylidene, M = Cr, W) were synthesized and their spectroscopic and structural properties compared with the literature known N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) group 6 metal pentacarbonyl complexes. This reveals that the 13C NMR carbene signals of theses complexes with dipyrido carbene ligands show the strongest high-field shift ever observed for M(CO)5(NHC) (M = Cr, W) complexes. The structural characterization shows alternating single and double bonds in the conjugated dipyrido moiety of the ligand.  相似文献

Pd(DHP)Cl2 and Pd(DHP)(CBDCA) complexes (DHP = 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxopropane and CBDCA = 1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylate), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectral measurements. The coordination of [Pd(DHP)(H2O)2]2+ with some selected bio-relevant ligands, containing different functional groups was investigated. The ligands used are amino acids, peptides, DNA constituents and dicarboxylic acids. Stoichiometry and stability constants of the complexes formed are reported at 25 °C and 0.1 M ionic strength. The results show the formation of 1:1 complexes with amino acids and dicarboxylic acids. DNA constituents form 1:1 and 1:2 complexes. Peptides form both 1:1 complexes and the corresponding deprotonated amide species. The effect of chloride ion concentration and dioxane on the acid dissociation constants of 1,1-cyclobutane dicarboxylic acid (CBDCAH2) and the formation constant of its complex with Pd(DHP)2+ was reported. The equilibrium constants for the displacement of coordinated ligands as uracil, glycine or methionine by cysteine are calculated. The results are expected to contribute to the chemistry of antitumour agents.  相似文献

Two new mononuclear complexes of manganese(III) viz. [MnL2(LH)2]ClO4 (1) and [MnL2(N3)]·0.5CH3OH (2) have been synthesized by reacting manganese perchlorate with furfurylamine and salicylaldehyde (plus sodium azide in 2) where L = (2-hydroxybenzyl-2-furylmethyl)imine, an asymmetric bidentate Schiff base formed in situ to bind the Mn(III) ion. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, TGA and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Structural studies reveal that the complexes 1 and 2 adopt an octahedral and a square pyramidal geometry, respectively. The antibacterial activity of the complexes has been tested against Gram(+) and Gram(?) bacteria.  相似文献

Metal complexes of gliclazide (GLZ; HL) drug are prepared and characterized based on elemental analyses, IR, diffused reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance and thermal analyses (TG and DTG) technique. From the elemental analyses data, the complexes are proposed to have the general formulae [M(HL)Cl3(H2O)]·3H2O (M = Cr(III) and Fe(III)), [M(HL)Cl2(H2O)2yH2O (M = Co(III), Ni(II) and Cu(II), y = 0–2) and [M(HL)Cl2yH2O (M = Mn(II) and Zn(II), y = 0–1). The molar conductance data reveal that all the metal chelates are non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that GLZ is coordinated to the metal ions in a neutral bidentate manner with ON donor sites of the amide-O and sulphonamide-OH. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it is found that the geometrical structures of these complexes are octahedral (Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)) and tetrahedral (Mn(II) and Zn(II)). The thermal behaviour of these chelates is studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TG and DTG) techniques. The results obtained show that the hydrated complexes lose water molecules of hydration followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligand molecules in the successive unseparate steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters are calculated using Coats–Redfern method. The GLZ drug, in comparison to its metal complexes also is screened for their biological activity against house fly, Musca domestica (Diptera – Muscidae). Dose of 5 μg/insect of gliclazide is typically applied against 3 days-old larval instar of M. domestica. Survival of pupal and adult stages has been affected by the complexes of gliclazide more than larval instars. Morphogenic abnormalities of larvae, pupae and adults are studied. On the other hand, pupation and adult emergence program is deteriorated by the effect of different chemicals.  相似文献

The clinically active functionalized β-diketones 1-(2′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-(2″-substitutedphenyl)-propane-1,3-dione (L1)–(L2) have been synthesized from Baker–Venkataraman transformation of 2,4-diaroyloxyacetophenones. Their transition metal complexes (1)–(8) have been prepared and characterized by physical, spectral and analytical data. The functionalized beta-diketone potentially acts as bidentate ligand and co-ordinate with the transition metal atom through beta-diketo system. The complexes have general formula [ML2] where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zinc(II) and L = ligand. The 1-(2′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-(2″-substitutedphenyl)-propane-1,3-dione and their transition metal complexes have been screened for in vitro antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant bioassay. The biological activity data show that the transition metal complexes are more potent antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant agents than the parent functionalized beta-diketone against different bacterial and fungal species. This constitutes a new group of compounds that can be used as potential metal derived drugs. Ultimately, here we can prompt about the use of metals for the drugs. The metal complexes were also studied for their thermogravimetric analyses.  相似文献

Three palladium(II) complexes and four platinum(II) complexes having general formula CpFe{1,2-C5H3(PPh2)(CH2SR)}MCl2 (M = Pd, R = Ph, Et and tBu; M = Pt, R = Ph, Et, tBu and Cy) have been synthesized by reaction of the corresponding CpFe{1,2-C5H3(PPh2)(CH2SR)} ligands with PdCl2(CH3CN)2 or PtCl2(CH3CN)2. These complexes have been fully characterized in solution and in solid state. In all cases, monomeric square planar complexes were obtained as pure diastereoisomers.  相似文献

By grafting with poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimer, novel carbon nanotube (CNT) nano-composites have been successfully prepared. The novel functionalized matrix with plenty amino groups circumvents the troublesome solubility problem of CNTs in solvents, especially in water, greatly expanding the scope of the application of carbon nanotubes. The GOx and HRP immobilized CNT-PAMAM based on the functional CNTs was synthesized. The bi-enzymatic CNT-PAMAM nano-composites are highly dispersible in water and show very promising applications in the fabrication of mediator-free bi-enzymatic biosensors for sensitive detection of glucose. The cooperation of nano-composite between CNT and high dense GOx and HRP results in very high sensitivity to glucose with a current response of 2200 nA mM−1 and fast response (∼1 s). The modified electrode exhibits a wide linear response range for glucose from 4.0 μM to 1.2 mM (R = 0.9971, N = 15), with a detection limit of 2.5 μM. The negative electrode potential of −0.34 V is favorable for glucose detection in real samples without interference caused by other biomolecules.  相似文献

Two π-radicals, 3-pyridinyl-phenylanthracene(iminonitroxide) (3) and 3-pyridinyl-phenylanthracene-(nitronylnitroxide) (4) were designed as candidates of the ligand for the metal complexes to clarify the exchange interactions between the paramagnetic centers of the metal ions and the photo-excited high-spin states of the purely organic π-radical. Compounds 3 and 4 were synthesized and their magnetic properties were examined, showing weak antiferromagnetic interactions, θ = −1.5 K for 3 and −0.7 K for 4. The photo-excited states of 3 and 4 were investigated by time-resolved ESR and clarified that both π-radicals have the quartet (S = 3/2) high-spin states as their lowest photo-excited states. Two metal complexes [Fe(III)(L)(4)] · (BPh4) (Low spin) (LH2 = N,N′-bis(1-hydroxy-2-benzyliden)-1,7-diamino-4-azaheptane) and [Cu(II)(hfac)2(4)2] using 4 were prepared. Their magnetic behaviors are well analyzed with the Bleaney–Bowers model with J/kB =  0.86 K and three S = 1/2 spin cluster model with J/kB = −1.0 K, respectively, showing weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the paramagnetic centers of the metal ions and the π-radical in the ground state.  相似文献

The ligand Hbpq = N-(8-quinolyl)pyridine-2-carboxamide) has been prepared using tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as an environmentally friendly reaction medium. Four new complexes of this ligand, [M(bpq)X] (M = Cu(II), X = SCN̄ (1), N3̄ (2); M = Ni(II), X = SCN̄ (3), N3̄ (4)), have also been synthesized and fully characterized. The crystal and molecular structures of [Cu(bpq)(NCS)]n (1) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. Copper(II) ion adopts a distorted square pyramidal (4 + 1) coordination in this complex. Hbpq ligand shows a strong emission at 500 nm in acetonitrile solution. The emission is quenched in the presence of copper(II) acetate, apparently because of the formation of [Cu(L)(OAc)(H2O)] complex. Introduction of nitric oxide (NO) into the acetonitrile solution at room temperature induces an increase in the fluorescence intensity, presumably due to the reduction of Cu(II) to Cu(I). This process is reversible and can form a basis for direct detection of NO.  相似文献

The precursors [Fe(III)(SYL)Cl] (SYLH2) = N,N′-bis(1-hydroxy-Y-2-benzyliden)-1,6-diamino-3-thiohexane, (Y = H, 3EtO, 5Me) are high-spin (S = 5/2) complexes. The precursors are combined with [Fe(II)(CN)6]4− and [Co(III)(CN)6]3− to yield star-shaped heptanuclear clusters, [Fe(II)(CN–Fe(III)SYL)6]Cl2 and [Co(III)(CN–Fe(III)SYL)6]Cl3. The star-shaped compounds are high-spin (HS) systems at room temperature. On cooling to 20 K some of the iron(III) centers perform some HS–HS transition.  相似文献

The partitioning of four dinitrophenylated (DNP-) amino acids in aqueous two-phase systems of (polyethylene glycol (PEG)-8000 + sodium sulfate) and (polyethylene glycol (PEG)-8000 + magnesium sulfate) in five different tie-lines was experimentally determined at T = 298.15 K. The Gibbs energy of transfer of a methylene group between the two phases was calculated from the measured partition coefficients. This characterizes the relative hydrophobicity of the equilibrium phases. Values of ΔG1(CH2) were in range from (−0.674 to −1.012) kJ · mol−1. A comparison of both systems was carried out. The results show that the cation type has a strong influence on the amino acids partitioning process. The largest relative hydrophobicity was noted for the ATPS system formed by sodium sulfate. This showed to be a better system for the separation.  相似文献

Four copper(II) complexes with N-allyl di(picolyl)amine were synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. The spectrophotometric and fluorescence titration data indicate that the [(Aldpa)Cu(L)](ClO4)2 (L = dppz, dione, phen) with conjugated aromatic rings as coordinated ligands can be inserted into the base stacks of DNA more deeply than the [(Aldpa)CuCl2]. The copper(II) complexes [(Aldpa)Cu(L)](ClO4)2 (L = dppz, dione, phen) can inhibit the proliferation of the four cancer cells (Mcf-7, Eca-109, A549 and HeLa) with IC50 0.5–19.2 μM, which is larger than that (23.2–84.3 μM) of [(Aldpa)CuCl2], suggesting their inhibiting activities on the four cancer cells are correlated with their DNA-binding properties. However, the selectivity of [(Aldpa)CuCl2] to cancer cells is better than that of the other three complexes [(Aldpa)Cu(L)](ClO4)2, which indicates the substituents introduced on the secondary amino nitrogen atom of dpa have great contribution to the antitumor activities of these copper(II) complexes.  相似文献

Computational methods are used to investigate catalytic hydrophenylation of ethylene using complexes of the type [(Y)M(L)(CH3)(NCMe)]n+ [Y = Mp, n = 1; Y = Tp, n = 0; M = Ru or Os; L = PMe3, PF3, or CO; Mp = tris(pyrazolyl)methane; Tp = hydrido-tris(pyrazolyl)borate]. The conversion of ethylene and benzene to ethylbenzene with [(Y)M(L)(Ph)]n+ as catalyst involves four steps: (1) ethylene coordination, (2) ethylene insertion into the M–Ph bond, (3) benzene coordination, and (4) benzene C–H activation. DFT calculations form the basis to compare stoichiometric benzene C–H activation by [(Y)M(L)(CH3)(NCMe)]n+ complexes to yield methane and [(Y)M(L)(Ph)(NCMe)]n+. In addition, starting from the 16-electron species [(Y)M(L)(Ph)]n+, potential energy surfaces for the formation of ethylbenzene are calculated to reveal the impact of modifications to the scorpionate ligand (Mp or Tp), co-ligand (L) and metal center (M).  相似文献

Some mixed-ligand thorium(IV) complexes with the general formula [Th(OOCCH3)4?nLn] (L = anions of myristic, palmitic or stearic acid and n = 1–4) have been synthesized by the stepwise substitution of acetate ions of thorium(IV) acetate with straight chain carboxylic acids in toluene under reflux. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, spectral (electronic, infrared, NMR and powder XRD) studies, electrical conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Doubly and triply bridged coordination modes of the ligands were established by their infrared spectra and nano-size of the complexes by powder XRD. Room temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements revealed diamagnetic nature of the complexes. Electronic absorption spectra of the complexes showed π  π*, n  π* and charge transfer transitions. Molar conductance values indicated the complex to be non-electrolytes. These are a new type of mixed-ligand thorium(IV) complexes for which a nano-sized, oxygen bridged polymeric structure has been established on the basis of physico-chemical studies.  相似文献

A novel series of macrocyclic complexes of the type [M(C18H14N10S2)X2]; where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); X = Cl?, NO3?, CH3COO? has been synthesized by [2+2] condensation of thiocarbohydrazide and isatin in the presence of divalent metal salts in methanolic medium. The complexes have been characterized with the help of elemental analyses, conductance measurements, magnetic measurements, electronic, NMR and infrared spectral studies. The low value of molar conductance indicates them to be non-electrolytes. On the basis of various studies a distorted octahedral geometry may be proposed for all of these complexes. These metal complexes were also tested for their in vitro antimicrobial activities against some Gram-positive bacteria viz.Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, and some Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and some fungal strains Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus (molds), Candida albicans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeasts). The results obtained were compared with standard antibiotic: Ciprofloxacin and the standard antifungal drug: Amphotericin-B.  相似文献

Two substituted N-acylthioureas and the respective Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were synthesized, namely: N,N-di-n-butyl-N′-thenoylthiourea (Hnbtu); N,N-di-iso-butyl-N′-thenoylthiourea (Hibtu); bis[N,N-di-n-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]nickel(II), [Ni(nbtu)2]; bis[N,N-di-n-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]copper(II), [Cu(nbtu)2]; bis[N,N-di-iso-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]nickel(II), [Ni(ibtu)2]; bis[N,N-di-iso-butyl-N′-thenoylthioureato]copper(II), [Cu(ibtu)2]. The standard (p° = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation and sublimation of the two N-acylthioureas were measured, at T = 298.15 K, by rotating-bomb combustion calorimetry and Calvet microcalorimetry, respectively. The standard (p° = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation of the Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were determined, at T = 298.15 K, by high precision solution–reaction calorimetry. From the results obtained, the enthalpies of hypothetical metal–ligand and metal–metal exchange reactions, in the gaseous phase, were derived, thus allowing a discussion of the gaseous phase energetic difference between the complexation of Ni(II) and Cu(II) to 1,3-ligand systems with (S,O) ligator atoms.  相似文献

The novel homodinuclear zinc(II) complexes with the quinolone antibacterial drugs ciprofloxacine and neutral bidentate ligands have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, TG analyses and various spectroscopic techniques. The metal ion exhibits octahedral geometry with two water molecule in the inner sphere cavity environment. The interaction of complexes with DNA was determined using absorption titration, viscosity measurements and electrophoresis technique. The intrinsic binding constants (Kb) of complexes were determined, which were ranging from 1.0 × 104 to 3.5 × 104 per mole. Suggesting that complexes bind more strongly to DNA. Effect on viscosity has also been checked to authenticate the binding of metal complexes with DNA. An antimicrobial activity of all the ligands and metal complexes has been examined by minimum inhibitory concentration method (MIC).  相似文献

New bimetallic complex salts corresponding to the formulation [Ni(L)][MCl4] have been synthesized by the facile reaction between [Ni(L)](ClO4)2 and [MCl2(PPh3)2] in high yields {where M = Co(II), Zn(II), Hg(II) and L = 3,7-bis(2-aminoethyl)-1,3,5,7-tetraazabicyclo(3.3.1)nonane}. The complexes were characterized by IR, electronic spectra, TGA/DSC, magnetic moment and conductivity measurements. The X-ray crystal structure for [Ni(L)][CoCl4] clearly establishes the cationic–anionic interaction. It crystallizes in the space group P1 with unit cell dimensions a = 7.1740(15) Å, b = 8.1583(16) Å and c = 8.3102(16) Å. A square-planar geometry is evident for the [Ni(L)]2+ cation while the anion is found to be tetrahedral. A two-step thermolytic pattern is observed in the pyrolysis of the bimetallic complex salts.  相似文献
