The formation of supramolecular host-guest complexes of fullerene (C(60)) and two novel tribenzotriquinacene based hosts (5 a and 5 b) was investigated in solution and in the solid state. Stability constants for 1:1 and 2:1 complexes were obtained from spectroscopic (UV/Vis, (1)H NMR) titration experiments. Association constants of K(1)=(2908+/-360) L mol(-1) and K(2)=(2076+/-300) L mol(-1) for C(60)/5 a, and K(1)=(5608+/-220) L mol(-1) and K(2)=(673+/-160) L mol(-1) for C(60)/5 b were obtained. Single crystal X-ray structural analysis of compound C(60) subset5 b3 toluene revealed that a molecule of C(60) was located at short van der Waals contact distances in the open pre-organised cavity of the rigid host. The supramolecular complex created resembles an engineered nanosized ball joint and represents the first member for a future nanomechanics construction kit.  相似文献

Two new dimeric bromopyrrole alkaloids, nagelamides K (1) and L (2), have been isolated from Okinawan marine sponges Agelas species, and the structures and stereochemistry were elucidated from spectroscopic data. Nagelamide K (1) is a bromopyrrole alkaloid possessing a rare piperidinoiminoimidazolone ring with an aminoimidazole ring and a taurine unit, while nagelamide L (2) is a unique dimeric bromopyrrole alkaloid containing an ester linkage. Nagelamides K (1) and L (2) exhibited antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

We have found the first well-characterized coordination of guanidine with Zn(2+) in a 1:1 complex (ZnL(1)) with cyclen (= 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane) functionalized with guanidinylethyl group (L(1) = (2-guanidinyl)ethyl-cyclen). The X-ray structure analysis of the 1:1 complex crystallized at pH 7.5 revealed an apical coordination of the pendant guanidinyl group to Zn(2+) ion in ZnL(1). By potentiometrtic pH titration, initial formation of a 1:1 Zn(L(1).H(+)) complex was indicated, where only the cyclen N's bind to Zn(2+) with the complexation constant, log K(s) (K(s) = [Zn(L(1).H(+))]/[Zn(2+)][L(1).H(+)] (M(-1))), being 12.4 +/- 0.1. Facile deprotonation of the guanidinium pendant in the Zn(L(1).H(+)) occurred with a pK(a) value of 5.9 +/- 0.1 at 25 degrees C with I = 0.1 (NaNO(3)) to yield the guanidine-coordinating complex ZnL(1). 4-Nitrophenyl phosphate dianion (NPP(2-)) interacted with ZnL(1) through a new Zn(2+)-phosphate coordination, as indicated by (31)P NMR titration and potentiometric pH titration. An apparent complexation constant for this new species, log K(app)(Zn(L(1).H(+))-NPP), was 4.0 +/- 0.1, which is larger than the log K(app)(ZnL(2)-NPP) value of 3.1 for the 1:1 complex of Zn(2+)-cyclen (ZnL(2)) with NPP at the common pH 5.6. The interaction of ZnL(1) with a phosphate dianion was proven by the X-ray crystal structure analysis of the 1:1 ZnL(1)-PP(2-) complex (PP(2-) is a dianion of phenyl phosphate) obtained from an aqueous solution at pH 6.5. At higher pH, the pendant guanidinium cation is deprotonated to displace the phosphate to yield the Zn(2+)-guanidine bond.  相似文献

Three one-dimensional coordination polymers [Mn(L)(N(3))](n) [L = L1 (1), L2 (2), L3 (3); L1H(2) = N,N'-bis(5-chlorosalicylideneiminato)-1,3-diaminopentane, L2H(2) = N,N'-bis(5-bromosalicylideneiminato)-1,3-diaminopentane, L3H(2) = N,N'-bis(5-bromosalicylideneiminato)-1,3-diamino-2-dimethylpropane] bridged by end-to-end azides were prepared. The crystal systems differ according to the Schiff bases used. Each Mn atom adopts a typical Jahn-Teller distortion. The helicity of the chains occurs in a racemic manner only for 2. No noncovalent forces are relevant in 2, while π-π contacts are visible in 1 and 3. Magnetic measurements show the presence of apparent spin canting. Complexes 1 and 3 exhibit a field-induced metamagnetic transition from an antiferromagnetic state to a weak ferromagnetic phase, whereas 2 embraces a field-induced two-step magnetic phase transition. The critical temperature is observed at 38 K for 2, which is relatively higher than those for 1 (11 K) and 3 (10 K). The pronounced long-range order may contribute from intrachain exchange couplings and through-space dipolar interactions between adjacent chains.  相似文献

Oxidation of the chromium(III)-l-arginine complex [CrIII(L)2(H2O)2]+ by periodate has been investigated. In aqueous solutions, [CrIII(L)2(H2O)2]+ is oxidized by IO−4 according to the rate law: d[CrVI]/dt=k2K5[CrIII]T [IVII]T/1 +([H+]/K1)+K5[IVII]T where k2 is the rate constant for the electron transfer process, K1 the equilibrium constant for the dissociation of [CrIII(L)2- (H2O)2]+ to [CrIII(L)2(H2O)(OH)]+H+, and K5 the pre-equilibrium formation constant. Values of k2= 4.02×10−3s−1, K1=5.60×10−4m and K5=171m−1 were obtained at 30°C and I=0.2m. Thermodynamic activation parameters were calculated. It is proposed that electron transfer proceeds through an inner-sphere mechanism via coordination of IO−4 to chromium(III). This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Investigations on a series of eight novel mononuclear iron(III) Schiff base complexes with the general formula [Fe(L(5))(L(1))]·S (where H(2)L(5) = pentadentate Schiff-base ligand, L(1) = a pseudohalido ligand, and S is a solvent molecule) are reported. Several different aromatic 2-hydroxyaldehyde derivatives were used in combination with a non-symmetrical triamine 1,6-diamino-4-azahexane to synthesize the H(2)L(5) Schiff base ligands. The consecutive reaction with iron(III) chloride resulted in the preparation of the [Fe(L(5))Cl] precursor complexes which were left to react with a wide range of the L(1) pseudohalido ligands. The low-spin compounds were prepared using the cyanido ligand: [Fe(3m-salpet)(CN)]·CH(3)OH (1a), [Fe(3e-salpet)(CN)]·H(2)O (1b), while the high-spin compounds were obtained by the reaction of the pseudohalido (other than cyanido) ligands with the [Fe(L(5))Cl] complex arising from salicylaldehyde derivatives: [Fe(3Bu5Me-salpet)(NCS)] (2a), [Fe(3m-salpet)(NCO)]·CH(3)OH (2b) and [Fe(3m-salpet)(N(3))] (2c). The compounds exhibiting spin-crossover phenomena were prepared only when L(5) arose from 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde (H(2)L(5) = H(2)napet): [Fe(napet)(NCS)]·CH(3)CN (3a, T(1/2) = 151 K), [Fe(napet)(NCSe)]·CH(3)CN (3b, T(1/2) = 170 K), [Fe(napet)(NCO)] (3c, T(1/2) = 155 K) and [Fe(napet)(N(3))], which, moreover, exhibits thermal hysteresis (3d, T(1/2)↑ = 122 K, T(1/2)↓ = 117 K). These compounds are the first examples of octahedral iron(III) spin-crossover compounds with the coordinated pseudohalides. We report the structure and magnetic properties of these complexes. The magnetic data of all the compounds were analysed using the spin Hamiltonian formalism including the ZFS term and in the case of spin-crossover, the Ising-like model was also applied.  相似文献

An inclusion complex between the agrochemical chloropropham (CIPC) and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was prepared. A 2:1 host-guest stoichiometry was conformed by elemental analysis. From the phase solubility studies, the calculated stepwise stability constants were K(1)=224.6L/mol and K(2)=939.2L/mol, respectively. FT-IR, thermoanalysis and (1)H NMR spectra were applied to characterize the complex. It was speculated that the inclusion mode was two β-CD cavities included the chlorophenyl and the isopropyl moiety of one CIPC molecule, which was in agreement with the most predominant configuration optimized by molecular modeling. By complexation with β-CD, the water solubility and the thermal stability of CIPC were prominently improved.  相似文献

A comparative study of the binding of nitrate and sulfate with a polyammonium monocycle L(1), (3,6,9,17,20,23-hexaazatricyclo[23.3.1.1(11,15)]-triaconta-1(29),11,13,15(30),25,27-hexaene), and the corollary bicycle L(2), (1,4,12,15,18,26,31,39-octaazapentacyclo-[13.13.13.1(6,10).1(20,24).1(33,37)]-tetratetraconta-6,7,9,20(43),21,23,33(42),34,36-nonaene), is reported. Potentiometric studies indicated negligible binding for L(1) and nitrate, but high affinity was observed for sulfate (log K(H5L(SO4)/H5L-SO4) = 3.53(1), log K(H6L(SO4)/H6L-SO4) = 4.36(1)). Stronger binding was observed for the cryptand L(2) with both nitrate and sulfate (log K(H6L(NO3)/H6L-NO3) = 3.11(5), log K(H7L(NO3)/H7L-NO3) = 3.55(5); log K(H6L(SO4)/H6L-SO4) = 4.43(1), log K(H7L(SO4)/H7L-SO4) = 4.97(5)). Five crystal structures are reported: the nitrate (1) and sulfate (2) salts of L(1), the free base (3) of L(2), and the nitrate (4) and tosylate (5) salts of L(2). Structural results for L(1) indicate relatively planar monocycles with cis and trans orientations of the phenyl groups for 2 and 1, respectively, with the anions above and below the monocycle rings. For L(2), key features include an encapsulated water and intricate water network in 3, two encapsulated and four external nitrates and two external water molecules in 4, and six external tosylates with sulfonate groups pointing into the cavity and eight external waters in 5.  相似文献

A range of ligands in which a macrocyclic unit is fused to a 1,10-phenanthroline unit has been prepared starting from 5,6-dihydroxyphenanthroline. The ligands are L1 in which the pendant ligand is 18-crown-6; L2, in which the pendant ligand is benzo-24-crown-8; and L(3), in which the macrocycle contains two carboxamide units. Ligands L1 and L2 can bind Group 1 and 2 metal cations in their crown-ether cavities; L3 contains two H-bond (amide) donors and is suitable for anion-binding. Luminescent complexes of the form [Ru(bipy)2L]2+, [ReL(CO)3Cl] and [RuL(CN)4]2- were prepared and some were structurally characterised; their interactions with various guest species were investigated by luminescence and NMR spectroscopy. For complexes with the crown ethers (L1 and L2), binding of K+ was rather weak, but the electrostatic effect due to the charge on the host complex was clear with [RuL1(CN)4]2- binding K+ more strongly than [Ru(bipy)2L1]2+. Binding to the pendant crown ethers was much stronger with Ba2+, and both [ReL1(CO)3Cl] and [ReL2(CO)3Cl] showed substantial luminescence quenching in MeCN on addition of Ba2+ ions, with binding constants of 4.5 x 10(4) M(-1) for [ReL1(CO)3Cl]/Ba2+ and 1.3 x 10(5) M(-1) for [ReL2(CO)3Cl]/Ba2+. Complexes [Ru(bipy)2L3]2+ and [ReL3(CO)3Cl], due to their H-bond donor sites, showed binding of dihydrogenphosphate to the macrocycle. Whereas [ReL3(CO)3Cl] showed 1 : 1 binding with (H2PO4)- in dmso with a binding constant of 65 M(-1), [Ru(bipy)2L3]2+ showed 1 : 2 binding, with microscopic association constants of ca. 1 x 10(6) and 1.6 x 10(6) M(-1) in MeCN. The fact that K2 > K1 suggests a cooperative interaction whereby binding of the first anion makes binding of the second one easier to an extent which overcomes electrostatic effects, and a model for this is proposed which also accounts for the substantial increase in luminescence from [Ru(bipy)2L3]2+ (5-fold enhancement) when the second (H2PO4)- anion binds. Both [Ru(bipy)2L3]2+ and [ReL3(CO)3Cl] undergo complete luminescence quenching and a change in colour to near-black in the presence of (anhydrous) fluoride in MeCN, probably due to deprotonation of the carboxamide group. These changes are however irreversible on a long timescale and lead to slow decomposition.  相似文献

A potentiometric study of the coordination of the fluorophore, 2-methyl-8-(4-toluenesulfonamido)-6-quinolyloxyacetic acid, (1)LH(2) (the intracellular Zn(2+) probe, Zinquin A) in its deprotonated form, (1)L(2)(-), in Zn(2+) ternary complexes, [Zn(n)L(1)L](n) (where n is the charge of (n)L) at 298.2 K in 50% aqueous ethanol (v/v) and I = 0.10 (NaClO(4)), shows that the formation of [Zn(n)L(1)L](n) from [Zn(n)L]((2+)(n)(+) is characterized by log(K(5)/dm(3) mol(-1)) = 8.23 +/- 0.05, 4.36 +/- 0.18, 8.45 +/- 0.10, 10.00 +/- 0.06, 11.53 +/- 0.06 and 5.92 +/- 0.15, respectively, where (n)L = (2)L - (6)L and (7)L(3-) are 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane, 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, 1,4,7-triazacyclononane, 1,5,9-triazacyclododecane, tris(2-aminoethyl)amine and nitrilotriacetate, respectively, and K(5) is the stepwise complexation constant. Dissociation of a hydroxo proton from triethanolamine, (8)L, occurs in the formation of [Zn(8)LH(-1)](+) that subsequently forms [Zn(8)LH(-1)(1)L](-) for which log(K(5)/dm(3) mol(-1)) = 9.87 +/- 0.08. The variation of K(5) and the 5-fold variation of quantum yield of (1)L(2)(-) as its coordination environment changes in Zn(2+) ternary complexes are discussed with reference to the use of (1)L(2-) in the detection of intracellular Zn(2+).  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the new tetraazamacrocycle L, bearing two 1,1'-bis(2-phenol) groups as side-arms, is reported. The basicity behavior and the binding properties of L toward alkali metal ions were determined by means of potentiometric measurements in ethanol/water 50:50 (v/v) solution (298.1+/-0.1 K, I=0.15 mol dm(-3)). The anionic H(-1)L(-) species can be obtained in strong alkaline solution, indicating that not all of the acidic protons of L can be removed under the experimental conditions used. This species behaves as a tetraprotic base (log K(1)=11.22, log K(2)=9.45, log K(3)=7.07, log K(4)=5.08), and binds alkali metal ions to form neutral [MH(-1)L] complexes with the following stability constants: log K(Li)=3.92, log K(Na)=3.54, log K(K)=3.29, log K(Cs)=3.53. The arrangement of the acidic protons in the H(-1)L(-) species depends on the polarity of the solvents used, and at least one proton switches from the amine moiety to the aromatic part upon decreasing the polarity of the solvent. In this way two different binding areas, modulated by the polarity of solvents, are possible in L. One area is preferred by alkali metal ions in polar solvents, the second one is preferred in solvents with low polarity. Thus, the metal ion can switch from one location to the other in the ligand, modulated by the polarity of the environment. A strong hydrogen-bonding network should preorganize the ligand for coordination, as confirmed by MD simulations. The crystal structure of the [Na(H(-1)L)].CH(3)CN complex (space group P2(1)/c, a=12.805(1), b=20.205(3), c=14.170(2) A, beta=100.77(1) degrees, V=3601.6(8) A(3), Z=4, R=0.0430, wR2=0.1181), obtained using CH(2)Cl(2)/CH(3)CN as mixed solvent, supports this last aspect and shows one of the proposed binding areas.  相似文献

The ion-pair extraction equilibria of the iron(II) and iron(III) chelates of 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol (PAR, H(2)L) are described. The anionic chelates were extracted into chloroform with benzyldimethyltetradecylammonium chloride (QC1) as counter-ion. The extraction constants were estimated to be K(ex1)(Fe(II)) = [Q{Fe(II)(HL)L}](0)/[Q(+)][{Fe(II)(HL)L}(-)] = 10(8.59 +/- 0.11), K(ex2)(Fe(II)) = [Q(2){Fe(II)L(2)}](o)/ [Q(+)](2)[{Fe(II)L(2)}(2-)] = 10(12.17 +/- 0.10) and K(ex1)(Fe(III)) = [Q{Fe((III))L(2)}](o)/(Q(+)][{Fe(III)L(2)}(-)] = 10(6.78 +/- 0.15) at I = 0.10 and 20 degrees , where [ ](o) is concentration in the chloroform phase. Aggregation of Q{Fe(III)L(2)} in chloroform was observed and the dimerization constant (K(d) = [Q(2){Fe(III)L(2)}(2)](o)/[Q{Fe(III)L(2)}](o)(2)) was evaluated as log K(d) = 4.3 +/- 0.3 at 20 degrees . The neutral chelates of {Fe(II)(HL)(2)} and {Fe(III)(HL)L}, and the ion-pair of the cationic chelate, {Fe(III)(HL)(2)}ClO(4), were also extracted into chloroform or nitrobenzene. The relationship between the forms and extraction properties of the iron(II) and iron(III) PAR chelates are discussed in connection with those of the nickel(II) and cobalt(III) complexes. Correlation between the extraction equilibrium data and the elution behaviour of some PAR chelates in ion-pair reversed-phase partition chromatography is also discussed.  相似文献

Reported herein are the synthesis, structural, magnetic and M?ssbauer spectroscopic characterisation of a dinuclear Fe(II) triple helicate complex [Fe(2)(L)(3)](ClO(4))(4).xH(2)O (x = 1-4), 1(H(2)O), where L is a bis-bidentate imidazolimine ligand. Low temperature structural analysis (150 K) and M?ssbauer spectroscopy (4.5 K) are consistent with one of the Fe(II) centres within the helicate being in the low spin (LS) state with the other being in the high-spin (HS) state resulting in a [LS:HS] species. However, M?ssbauer spectroscopy (295 K) and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements (4.5-300 K) reveal that 1(H(2)O) undergoes a reversible single step spin crossover at one Fe(II) centre at higher temperatures resulting in a [HS:HS] species. Indeed, the T(1/2)(SCO) values at this Fe(II) centre also vary as the degree of hydration, x, within 1(H(2)O) changes from 1 to 4 and are centred between ca. 210 K-265 K, respectively. The dehydration/hydration cycle is reversible and the fully hydrated phase of 1(H(2)O) may be recovered on exposure to water vapour. This magnetic behaviour is in contrast to that observed in the related compound [Fe(2)(L)(3)](ClO(4))(4)·2MeCN, 1(MeCN), whereby fully reversible SCO was observed at each Fe(II) centre to give [LS:LS] species at low temperature and [HS:HS] species at higher temperatures. Reasons for this differing behaviour between 1(H(2)O) and 1(MeCN) are discussed.  相似文献

A new group of "breathing" crystals has been synthesized. These are aromatic solvates of the copper(II) hexafluoroacetylacetonate complex with spin-labeled pyrazole Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5Solv, where L is 2-(1-butyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole-3-oxide-1-oxyl and Solv is benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, propylbenzene, butylbenzene, styrene, o-xylene, m-xylene, p-xylene, 1,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzene, 1-methyl-4-ethylbenzene, 1-methyl-4-vinylbenzene, 1,4-diethylbenzene, 1,2,3-trimethylbenzene, or 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene. The main feature of Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5Solv single crystals is their remarkable mechanical stability and ability to undergo thermally induced structural rearrangements accompanied by spin-crossover-like phenomena. The structures of Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5Solv solvates are similar and based on mutually parallel {Cu(hfac)(2)L}(∞) heterospin chains with a "head-to-head" motif. The localization of voids with guest molecules being the same in all crystals, the temperature dependence of the effective magnetic moment (μ(eff)) for Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5Solv is determined by the structure of the guest molecules, along which the polymer chains are "gliding" when the temperature changes. When the temperature decreased from 300 to 100-50 K, μ(eff) decreased, abruptly or gradually, from 2.7-2.4 to ~1.8 β for the majority of Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5Solv except the solvates with benzene, toluene, and 1,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzene. When Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5C(6)H(6) and Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5CH(3)-C(6)H(5) were cooled to 50 K, μ(eff) decreased to ~2.1-2.2 β. When Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5(1,4-(CF(3))(2)-C(6)H(4)) was cooled to 50 K, μ(eff) initially decreased from ~2.7 to 1.9 β and then abruptly increased to ~2.4 β. A single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of each solvate within a temperature range wider than the range of magnetic anomaly temperatures revealed a complex interrelated dynamics of the aromatic solvent guest molecules and heterospin chains. The dynamics largely depended on the orientation of the solvent guest molecules relative to the polymer chains. An analysis of the thermally induced phase transformations revealed a relationship between the structural rearrangement of Cu(hfac)(2)L·0.5Solv and the form of the magnetic anomaly on the μ(eff)(T) curve and between the structural rearrangement of the solvate and the temperature of the magnetic effect.  相似文献

The reactions of bidentate diimine ligands (L2) with cationic bis(diimine)[Ru(L)(L1)(CO)Cl]+ complexes (L, L1, L2 are dissimilar diimine ligands), in the presence of trimethylamine-N-oxide (Me3NO) as a decarbonylation reagent, lead to the formation of heteroleptic tris(diimine) ruthenium(II) complexes, [Ru(L)(L1)(L2)]2+. Typically isolated as hexafluorophosphate or perchlorate salts, these complexes were characterised by UV-visible, infrared and mass spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, microanalyses and NMR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray studies have elucidated the structures of K[Ru(bpy)(phen)(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)](PF(6))(3).1/2H(2)O, [Ru(bpy)(5,6-Me(2)phen)(Hdpa)](ClO(4))(2), [Ru(bpy)(phen)(5,6-Me(2)phen)](ClO(4))(2), [Ru(bpy)(5,6'-Me(2)phen)(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)](PF(6))(2).EtOH, [Ru(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)(phen)(Hdpa)](PF(6))(2).MeOH and [Ru(bpy)(4,4'-Me(2)bpy)(Hdpa)](ClO(4))(2).1/2Hdpa (where Hdpa is di(2-pyridyl)amine). A novel feature of the first complex is the presence of a dinuclear anionic adduct, [K(2)(PF(6))(6)](4-), in which the two potassium centres are bridged by two fluorides from different hexafluorophosphate ions forming a K(2)F(2) bridging unit and by two KFPFK bridging moieties.  相似文献

A potentiometric and spectrophotometric investigation on the formation of zinc(II) complexes with Semi-Xylenol Orange (SXO or H(4)L) is reported. In an aqueous solution (mu = 0.1), three 1:1 complex species, MH(2)L, MHL(-), ML(2-), and a 1:2 complex, ML(6-)(2), seem to exist. In a strongly alkaline medium (above pH 12.5) the complexes may dissociate to give zinc hydroxide and L(4-). The formation of a hydroxy complex is not observed. The absorption maxima are at 445 nm (MH(2)L), 466 nm (MHL(-)) and 561 nm (ML(2-)), the molar absorptivities being 2.34 x 10(4), 2.42 x 10(4) and 3.14 x 10(4) 1.mole(-1) .cm(-1) respectively. The formation constants are (at 25 +/- 0.1 degrees ) log K(M)(ML) = 11.84, log K(M)(MHL) = 7.13, log K(M)(MH(2)L) = 2.70, log K(M)(ML(2)) = 16.60.  相似文献
