Silver in the range 0.01–10 p.p.m. is extracted from aqueous solution containing anthranilic acid diacetic acid into methyl isobutyl ketone as silver di-n-butylammonium salicylate without interference from 10-fold amounts of Mg, Ca, Zn, Pb, Al, Cu(II), Ni Co(II), Mn(II), Fe(III), Bi or any compatible common anion. Hg(II) is co-extracted slightly but can be retained in the aqueous phase with EDTA. Spectrophotometric determination of the extracted silver is done with pyrogallol red at 390 mμ in 4-cm cuvettes. The colour system is stable and reproducible. No special purification of reagents is necessary even for the lowest concentrations of silver.  相似文献

In an effort to better understand the antiproliferative effects of the tridentate hydrazone chelators di-2-pyridyl ketone isonicotinoyl hydrazone (HPKIH) and di-2-pyridyl ketone benzoyl hydrazone (HPKBH), we report the coordination chemistry of these ligands with the divalent metal ions, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn. These complexes are compared with their Fe(II) analogues which were reported previously. The crystal structures of Co(PKIH)(2), Ni(PKIH)(2), Cu(PKIH)(2), Mn(PKBH)(2), Ni(PKBH)(2), Cu(PKBH)(2), and Zn(PKBH)(2) are reported where similar bis-tridenate coordination modes of the ligands are defined. In pure DMF, all complexes except the Zn(II) compounds exhibit metal-centered M(III/II) (Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) or M(II/I) (Cu) redox processes. All complexes show ligand-centered reductions at low potential. Electrochemistry in a mixed water/DMF solvent only elicited metal-centered responses from the Co and Fe complexes. Remarkably, all complexes show antiproliferative activity against the SK-N-MC neuroepithelioma cell line similar to (HPKIH) or significantly greater than that of the (HPKBH) ligand which suggests a mechanism that does not only involve the redox activity of these complexes. In fact, we suggest that the complexes act as lipophilic transport shuttles that allow entrance to the cell and enable the delivery of both the ligand and metal which act in concert to inhibit proliferation.  相似文献

The hydrogen chemical ionization (H2 CI) mass spectra of a range of metal(II) (Ni, Cu, Co, Pt), metal (III) (Al, Mn, Ga, Fe (bearing a single axial ligand)) and metal(IV) (Si, Ge, Sn (bearing two axial ligands) and V (as V?O2+)) porphyrins have been determined, The spectra are highly dependent on the coordinated metal, rather than the axial ligand(s) (where present). Ni(II), Cu(II), Mn(II or III), Ga(III), Ge(IV), Fe(III) and Sn(IV) porphyrins fragment via hydrogenation and demetallation, followed by cleavage of the resulting porphyrinogens at the meso(bridge) positions to give mono- and di-pyrrolic fragments. Tripyrrolic fragments are also observed in the case of Ni(II), Cu(II) and Sn(IV). Fragmentations of this type are similar to those observed for free-base porphyrins. In the case of Pt(II), Co(II), Al(III), Si(IV) and V(IV) (as vanadyl), the dipyrrolic fragment ions are either very weak or completely absent; hence their H2CI spectra contain limited structural information. This variable CI behaviour may be related to the relative stabilities of the metalloporphyrins together with the multiple stable valency states exhibited by several metals.  相似文献

Polymerization of methyl methacrylate by cyclic ether hydroperoxide–metal acetylacetonate systems for a number of different metals was carried out to compare with the tert-butyl hydroperoxide–metal acetylacetonate initiating systems. The rate of polymerization of methyl methacrylate with cyclic ether hydroperoxides as initiating systems was much higher than that with tert-butyl hydroperoxide. In cyclic ether hydroperoxide initiating systems, V(III), Co(II,III), Fe(III), Cu(II), and Mn(II) promoted the polymerization rate markedly, and Zn(II), Ni(II), Al(III), and Mg(II) had little or no effect; in the tert-butyl hydroperoxide initiating system only V(III), Co(II), and Mn(II) enhanced polymerization rate, and most of other metals showed little or no effect. Furthermore, noticeable differences in color of solution and appearance during polymerization, and in relation between conversion and the degree of polymerization were observed. The effect of metal acetylacetonates on hydroperoxide initiators in polymerization of methyl methacrylate was also compared with that on the decomposition of hydroperoxides.  相似文献

Mercaptotropone was synthesized from tropone, and its acid dissociation constant (Ka) and distribution coefficient (KD) between benze and aqueous solution were spectrophotometrically determined as 5.75 (pKa) and 2.46 (log KD); Extraction behaviour of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), Cr(III), Fe(III), Y(III), and Zr(IV) with this reagent into benzene was examined. Cu(II) and Fe(III) were completely extracted from acidic solution, Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), and Zr(IV) were also extracted from intermediate pH region, a part of Cr(III) was extracted, but Y(III) was not extracted.  相似文献

A rapid chelatometric method for the determination of Al (4–20%) in magnesium, copper and chromium-aluminium-iron alloys is proposed. HEDTA is used as titrant and Zn solution as back-titrant, with hydrazidazol as indicator. Mn(II), Cu(II), Cd, Zn, Pb, Co(II), Ni, Hg(II), Fe(III), Bi, Cr(III), Sb(III), Ce(III), La, Sn(IV), Ti(IV), Zr and Mo(VI) do not interfere. High selectivity is achieved by a combination of group separation, masking and interference correction. The coefficient of variation varies from 0.2 to 1%.  相似文献

Abstract

The stepwise metal-ligand stability constants of tetracycline and oxytetraoycline chelates with Mg(II), Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Zr(II) and Sn(II) have been determined using the Bjerrum-Calvin titration technique as employed by Irving and Rossotti. Protonation constant of the ligand and stability constants of the respective metal complexes have been determined at constant temperature (25°C) and ionic strength (0.1 M KCl). The general order of overall stability constant values have been found to be: Zr(IV) > Fe(III) > Co(II) > Zn(II) > Mg(II) > Mn(II) > Ni(II) > Sn(II) > Tn(II) > Cr(II). The rign values of the atability constanta are attricutel to the Ligands, which are stronger as an acid and weaser as a oase.  相似文献

Chrome Azurol S (CS) was mobilized on an strongly basic anion-exchange resin (Dowex 2 x 4, in Cl(-) form) by batch equilibration. The modified resin was stable in acetate buffer solution and in 0.1 M HCl and H(2)SO(4), but it was readily degraded with 2-6 M HCl and HNO(3). Retention of Ba(II), Sr(II), Ca(II), Mg(II), Al(III), Cr(III), Zn(II), Fe(III), Ti(IV), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) was studied using the batch equilibration method. The uptake and recovery yields were determined by using inductively-coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (for Mg, Al, Cr, Ti, Fe, Mn, Ni, Zn, Cu, Cd and Pb) and atomic absorption spectrophotometry (for Ba, Sr, Ca and Co). The optimum pH value was established for performing a selective separation of Al(III) from the other metal ions. The sorption capacities of the CS-loaded resing for Al(III), Cr(III), Mg(II) (at pH 6), Fe(III) (at pH 5) and Ti(IV) (at pH 4) were 14, 2.9, 0.3, 3 and 3.9 mumoles g(-1) respectively. On this basis a method for separating Al(III) from other cations was established.  相似文献

Summary The cation-exchange behaviour of Mn(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Sc(III), Y(III), Eu(III), Dy(III), Ho(III), Yb(III), Ti(IV) and Nb(V) in malate media at various concentrations and pH, was studied with Dowex 50 WX8 resin (200–400 mesh) in the ammonium form. It is shown that stable metal complexes with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) are formed in strongly acidic (0.5–6 M) solutions and can be extracted into methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), although APDC is normally used for extractions from solutions at pH 2–12. Percentage extraction curves are presented for 24 elements (Ag, As, Au, Bi, Cd, Co, Cu, Fe, Ga, Ge, Hg, In, It, Ni, Os, Pb, Pd, Pt, Rh, Ru, Sb, Sn, Tl and Zn) from solutions of hydrochloric or nitric acid with and without addition of APDC. Some elements (e.g., Fe, Ga, Ge, In and Au) show identical extractions as their chloro complexes in hydrochloric acid with or without APDC. Others (e.g., Ni, Cu, Pd, As, Ag, Sb, It, Hg and Bi) are strongly extracted (Kd ? 20), from 2 M hydrochloric or nitric acid in the presence of APDC. Palladium (Kd = 8000), Sb (Kd = 10 000), and Bi (Kd = 3500) are particularly easily extracted. The potential of the extraction system was tested by extraction and quantification of palladium from the CANMET standard ore PTC-1; the mean value found was 12.55 μg g?1 (ppm) palladium with a relative standard deviation of 7.6% (n = 12) and a relative error of 1.2% from the recommended value of 12.70 μg g?1.  相似文献

Stability constants for Al(III), Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Hg(II), La(III), Nd(III), Er(III), Mg(II). Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Th(IV) and Zn(II) complexes of triethylenetetraminehexaacetic acid (TTHA) have been evaluated from data obtained by pH and pM measurements. The pM method based on measurements with the mercury electrode and the redox system Fe(III)/Fe(II) proved to be very useful when binuclear complexes are formed.  相似文献

The conditions for the flow determination of Al(III), Bi(III), Cd(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III), Mn(II), Nd(III), Ni(II), Pb(II), Pr(III), and Zn(II) by reaction with Xylenol Orange in aqueous solutions at pH 4.5 and the determination of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II) by reaction with 4-(2-thiazolylazo)resorcinol in water–ethanol mixtures (5 : 1) at pH 5.0 using an injected sample volume of 80 L were proposed. The limits of detection were n × 10–8n × 10–7 mol/L; the linearity ranges in the calibration graphs were of about three orders of magnitude; the relative standard deviation was of 3–7%.  相似文献

The extraction of anionic complexes of EDTA with Ca. Mg, V(IV), V(V), Cr(III), Mn(II), Mn(III), Fe(III), Co(II), Co(III), Ni, Cu(II), Zn, Cd, Hg(II), Pd(II), Pb and Bi by solutions of Aliquat-336 chloride in 1,2-dichloroethane has been studied as a function of the pH of the aqueous phase. The order and extent of the extractability varies greatly with the pH and provides a number of new possibilities for separation procedures. Thus iron(III) can be separated from many other metals in strongly alkaline solution while the extraction of V(V), V(IV), Hg(II) and Pd(II) exceeds 99% over wide pH ranges. The complex of Mn(III) with EDTA which is very unstable in aqueous solution can be preserved for up to 5 h when extracted by Aliquat-336.One of us (R. H. Gold(III) can be separated from Cd, In. Zn, Ni, Cu(II), Mn(II), Co(II), Mg, Ca, Al, Fe(III), Ga and U(VI) by adsorbing these elements on a column of AG50W-X8 sulphonated polystyrene cation-exchange resin from 0.1M HCl containing 60% v v acetone, while Au(III) passes through and can be eluted with the same reagent. Separations are sharp and quantitative. The amounts of gold retained by the resin are between 1 and 2 orders of magnitude lower than encountered during adsorption from aqueous 0.1M HCl. Recoveries for mg amounts of gold are 99.9% or better and for ng amounts are still better than 99%, as shown by radioactive tracer methods. Hg(II), Bi, Sn(IV), the platinum metals and some elements which tend to form oxy-anions in dilute acid accompany gold. All other elements, though not investigated in detail, should be retained, according to their known distribution coefficients. Relevant elution curves, results of quantitative separations of binary mixtures and of recovery tests are presented.  相似文献

The preparation and thermal analysis of metal chelates of benzohydroxarnic acid (BHA) with Al(III), Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II) (two compounds), Fe(III), La(III), Pb(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), U(VI) and Zn(II) is discussed. The Al(III), La(III), Pb(II) and Mn(II) chelates are new compounds. DTA and TGA curves of the chelates and of BHA are presented, and the heats of decomposition of the chelates are estimated.  相似文献

Tin (II) forms a yellow complex with potassium ethylxanthate which can be extracted into chloroform. Tin is determined spectrophotometrically by measuring the absorbance at 360 nm. Beer's law is obeyed up to 120 g of Sn in the aqueous phase with a Sandell sensitivity of 0.013 g Sn/cm2. Metal ions such as Ti(IV), Cr(VI), Mn(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Al(III), U(VI), W(VI), Th(IV) and Zr(IV) do not interfere, but Mo(VI), Co(II) and Bi(III) do. Interference due to Fe(II, III), Ni(II) and V(V) is checked by suitable masking agents. Analysis of some synthetic and industrial samples has been carried out by the proposed method.  相似文献

Summary In reversed phase—high performance liquid chromatography for metal chelates with 2-(2-thiazolylazo)-5-dimethylaminophenol, an aqueous non-ionic surfactant solution is used as a mobile phase. Among V(V), Fe(III), Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), and Al(III), only the V(V) chelate gave a resolved peak by using 0.8% w/w poly(oxyethylene)n-4-nonylphenyl ether (n=20) solution buffered at pH 3.8.
