For a nilpotent linear transformation f: V → V of Jordan type λ, let S(T) be the set of f-stable subspaces W of V associated with an LR (Littlewood–Richardson) tableau T. We show that (i) S(T) is a disjoint union of locally closed sets parametrized by LR-fillings of T, each of which is birationally isomorphic to an affine space, and that (ii) a~conjecture of Shimomura on semistandard d-tableaux in a rectangular diagram is true.  相似文献

Let T denote a binding component of an open book (S, f){(\Sigma, \phi)} compatible with a closed contact 3-manifold (M, ξ). We describe an explicit open book (S¢, f¢){(\Sigma', \phi')} compatible with (M, ζ), where ζ is the contact structure obtained from ξ by performing a full Lutz twist along T. Here, (S¢, f¢){(\Sigma', \phi')} is obtained from (S, f){(\Sigma, \phi)} by a local modification near the binding.  相似文献

For a given simplicial periodic transformationT of the compact orientable surfaceS, subject to certain constraints onT, a simplicial embedding ofS in the 3-dimensional sphereS 3 is defined and an orthogonal periodic transformationt ofS 3 such thatt/f(S) is equivalent toT is also defined.  相似文献

The problem of determining when a (classical) crossed product T = S f ?G of a finite group G over a discrete valuation ring S is a maximal order, was answered in the 1960s for the case where S is tamely ramified over the subring of invariants S G . The answer was given in terms of the conductor subgroup (with respect to f) of the inertia. In this article we solve this problem in general when S/S G is residually separable. We show that the maximal order property entails a restrictive structure on the subcrossed product graded by the inertia subgroup. In particular, the inertia is abelian. Using this structure, one is able to extend the notion of the conductor. As in the tame case, the order of the conductor is equal to the number of maximal two-sided ideals of T and hence to the number of maximal orders containing T in its quotient ring. Consequently, T is a maximal order if and only if the conductor subgroup is trivial.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of anti‐periodic solutions for the first order evolution equation in a Hilbert space H, where G : H → ? is an even function such that ?G is a mapping of class (S+) and f : ? → ? satisfies f(t + T) = –f(t) for any t ∈ ? with f(·) ∈ L2(0, T; H). Let S, T be finite sets, and let f be a function from S to T. Fix an element t in T, and let cn denote the number of n-tuples (X1,…,Xn) satisfying f(X1) + … + f(Xn) = t here + denotes any binary operation on T. The sequence c1, c2,… satisfies a linear recurrence relation of degree at most |T|.  相似文献

Given two graphs G and H, let f(G,H) denote the minimum integer n such that in every coloring of the edges of Kn, there is either a copy of G with all edges having the same color or a copy of H with all edges having different colors. We show that f(G,H) is finite iff G is a star or H is acyclic. If S and T are trees with s and t edges, respectively, we show that 1+s(t?2)/2≤f(S,T)≤(s?1)(t2+3t). Using constructions from design theory, we establish the exact values, lying near (s?1)(t?1), for f(S,T) when S and T are certain paths or star‐like trees. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Let A, B be uniform algebras. Suppose that A 0, B 0 are subgroups of A −1, B −1 that contain exp A, exp B respectively. Let α be a non-zero complex number. Suppose that m, n are non-zero integers and d is the greatest common divisor of m and n. If T : A 0B 0 is a surjection with ||T(f)mT(g)n - a|| = ||fmgn - a||{\|T(f)^{m}T(g)^{n} - \alpha\|_{\infty} = \|f^{m}g^{n} - \alpha\|_{\infty}} for all f,g ? A0{f,g \in A_0}, then there exists a real-algebra isomorphism [(T)\tilde] : A ? B{\tilde{T} : A \rightarrow B} such that [(T)\tilde](f)d = (T(f)/T(1))d{\tilde{T}(f)^d = (T(f)/T(1))^d} for every f ? A0{f \in A_0}. This result leads to the following assertion: Suppose that S A , S B are subsets of A, B that contain A −1, B −1 respectively. If m, n > 0 and a surjection T : S A S B satisfies ||T(f)mT(g)n - a|| = ||fmgn - a||{\|T(f)^{m}T(g)^{n} - \alpha\|_{\infty} = \|f^{m}g^{n} - \alpha\|_{\infty}} for all f, g ? SA{f, g \in S_A}, then there exists a real-algebra isomorphism [(T)\tilde] : A ? B{\tilde{T} : A \rightarrow B} such that [(T)\tilde](f)d = (T(f)/T(1))d{\tilde{T}(f)^d = (T(f)/T(1))^d} for every f ? SA{f \in S_A}. Note that in these results and elsewhere in this paper we do not assume that T(exp A) = exp B.  相似文献

We consider direct productsS×UE G e=S 1×…×S n × UE G e of non-group finite cyclic semigroupsS i, 1 ≤in, and finite unions of finite groups UE G e We prove that if such a semigroup is isomorphic to another of the same form, sayT×U fεF H f =T 1×…×U fεF H f , whereT j are non-group cyclic semigroups, 1≤jl, and U fεF H f is a union of groups, thenS is isomorphic toT and UeεE G e is isomorphic to UfεF H f . We then determine when a finite semigroup has such a decomposition and show how the direct factors can be found.  相似文献

We study algebra classes and divisor classes on a normal affine surface of the form z 2 = f(x, y). The affine coordinate ring is T = k[x, y, z]/(z 2 ? f), and if R = k[x, y][f ?1] and S = R[z]/(z 2 ? f), then S is a quadratic Galois extension of R. If the Galois group is G, we show that the natural map H1(G, Cl(T)) → H1(G, Pic(S)) factors through the relative Brauer group B(S/R) and that all of the maps are onto. Sufficient conditions are given for H1(G, Cl(T)) to be isomorphic to B(S/R). The groups and maps are computed for several examples.  相似文献

It is known that wavelet frames do not exhibit a Nyquist density. Even so, this paper shows that the affine densities of the sets U×V and S×T affect the frame properties of and . In particular, it is shown that there is a relationship between the densities of the dilation sets U and S and weighted admissibility constants of f and g. This relationship implies a comparison theorem, whereby the affine densities of U×V and S×T are proportional, with proportionality constant depending on the frame bounds and the admissibility constants of f and g. These results are also extended to wavelet frame sequences.  相似文献

Given a regular epimorphism f:X?Y in an exact homological category C, and a pair (U,V) of kernel subobjects of X, we show that the quotient (f(U)∩f(V))/f(UV) is always abelian. When C is nonpointed, i.e. only exact protomodular, the translation of the previous result is that, given any pair (R,S) of equivalence relations on X, the difference mappingδ:Y/f(RS)?Y/(f(R)∩f(S)) has an abelian kernel relation. This last result actually holds true in any exact Mal'cev category. Setting Y=X/T, this result says that the difference mapping determined by the inclusion T∪(RS)?(TR)∩(TS) has an abelian kernel relation, which casts a new light on the congruence distributive property.  相似文献

For weighted Toeplitz operators TNj{{\mathcal T}^N_\varphi} defined on spaces of holomorphic functions in the unit ball, we derive regularity properties of the solutions f to the equation TNj(f)=h{{\mathcal T}^N_\varphi(f)=h} in terms of the regularity of the symbol φ and the data h. As an application, we deduce that if f\not o 0{f\not\equiv0} is a function in the Hardy space H 1 such that its argument [`(f)]/f{\bar f/f} is in a Lipschitz space on the unit sphere \mathbb S{{\mathbb S}}, then f is also in the same Lipschitz space, extending a result of Dyakonov to several complex variables.  相似文献

Let X be a locally convex Hausdorff space and let C0(S,X) be the space of all continuous functions f:SX, with compact support on the locally compact space S. In this paper we prove a Riesz representation theorem for a class of bounded operators T:C0(S,X)→X, where the representing integrals are X-valued Pettis integrals with respect to bounded signed measures on S. Under the additional assumption that X is a locally convex space, having the convex compactness property, or either, X is a locally convex space whose dual X is a barrelled space for an appropriate topology, we obtain a complete identification between all X-valued Pettis integrals on S and the bounded operators T:C0(S,X)→X they represent. Finally we give two illustrations of the representation theorem proved, in the particular case when X is the topological dual of a locally convex space.  相似文献

Let C be a nonempty closed convex subset of a Banach space E with the dual E *, let T:CE * be a Lipschitz continuous mapping and let S:CC be a relatively nonexpansive mapping. In this paper, by employing the notion of generalized projection operator, we study the following variational inequality (for short, VI(Tf,C)): find xC such that
where fE * is a given element. Utilizing the modified Ishikawa iteration and the modified Halpern iteration for relatively nonexpansive mappings, we propose two modified versions of J.L. Li’s (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 295:115–126, 2004) iterative algorithm for finding approximate solutions of VI(Tf,C). Moreover, it is proven that these iterative algorithms converge strongly to the same solution of VI(Tf,C), which is also a fixed point of S. L.C. Let T be an ergodic automorphism of a probability space, f a bounded measurable function, . It is shown that the property that the probabilities μ(|Sn(f)|>n) are of order np roughly corresponds to the existence of an approximation in L of f by functions (coboundaries) ggT, gLp. Similarly, the probabilities μ(|Sn(f)|>n) are exponentially small iff f can be approximated by coboundaries ggT where g have finite exponential moments.

A semigroup S is called an absolute coretract if for any continuous homomorphism f from a compact Hausdorff right topological semigroup T onto a compact Hausdorff right topological semigroup containing S algebraically there exists a homomorphism g \colon S→ T such that f\circ g=id S . The semigroup β\ben contains isomorphic copies of any countable absolute coretract. In this article we define a class C of semigroups of idempotents each of which is a decreasing chain of rectangular semigroups. It is proved that every semigroup from C is an absolute coretract and every finite semigroup of idempotents, which is an absolute coretract, belongs to C . July 25, 2000  相似文献

Let A and B be uniform algebras. Suppose that α ≠ 0 and A 1A. Let ρ, τ: A 1A and S, T: A 1B be mappings. Suppose that ρ(A 1), τ(A 1) and S(A 1), T(A 1) are closed under multiplications and contain expA and expB, respectively. If ‖S(f)T(g) − α = ‖ρ(f)τ(g) − α for all f, gA 1, S(e 1)−1S(A 1) and S(e 1) ∈ T(A 1) for some e 1A 1 with ρ(e 1) = 1, then there exists a real-algebra isomorphism $ \tilde S $ \tilde S : AB such that $ \tilde S $ \tilde S (ρ(f)) = S(e 1)−1 S(f) for every fA 1. We also give some applications of this result.  相似文献
