The β-decay of the T z = - 2 nucleus 36Ca was studied at the LISE3 magnetic spectrometer at GANIL. Two new proton-emitting states have been detected and the other nine known βp and βγ transitions have been remeasured with improved resolution. A simulation with the GEANT code has been applied to this experimental setup. A comparison with shell model calculations is given. Received: 19 September 2000 / Accepted: 28 February 2001  相似文献

Gamow-Teller (GT) and spin-dipole (SD) states in 208Bi are studied by using self-consistent Hartree-Fock + Tamm-Dancoff approximation taking into account the coupling to the continuum. Most of SD strength is found at the excitation energy E x≈ 25MeV with a very broad width, which agrees with recent experimental observations. It is shown that Landau damping effect is responsible for the large width of SD peak, while the escape width is found to be at most 1MeV. We study also electric dipole (E1) transitions between GT and SD states in 208Bi. Main E1 transitions for 0- and 1- states are found near excitation energy expected from Brink's hypothesis in which SD states are considered as E1 resonances built on the GT state. Calculated E1 transition strengths between GT and SD states are compared with the analytic sum rules within one-particle one-hole (1p-1h) configuration space and within both 1p-1h and 2p-2h model space. The β-decay of 75Sr to its mirror nucleus 75Rb was studied at the ISOLDE PSB facility at CERN by means of β-delayed γ and proton spectroscopy. The decay Q-value and β-delayed γ intensity were measured for the first time. These results, 10.60±0.22 MeV and 4.5+1.9 -0.7%, together with accurate measurements of the β-decay half-life and β-delayed proton branching ratio yielded the Gamow-Teller strength 0.35±0.05 for the mirror transition. Implications of the results on studies of deformation effects and on the path of the rapid proton capture process are discussed. The first evidence for excited states in 95Ag is presented. 95Ag is the heaviest T z = 1/2 nucleus for which gamma-rays have been identified. The reaction 40Ca(58Ni, 1p2n)95Ag was used in the experiment, which resulted in the assignment of three gamma-rays to 95Ag. A detector system consisting of the detector arrays Euroball, Neutron Wall and Euclides was used to detect gamma-rays, neutrons and charged particles, respectively. An investigation of low-lying energy levels of 130Pr and 130Ce has been made via β-decay. The radioactive parent nuclei were produced via 94,96Mo + 40Ca reactions at 6.8 MeV/nucleon and transported by a He-jet system. Gamma-γ-t, γ-X-t, γ-e--t coincidence measurements were performed. Internal conversion coefficients have been measured with a magnetic spectrometer. The new β-decay half-life of 130Nd has been determined to be 21(3) s. A partial level scheme of 130Pr at low-spin has been constructed. The β-decay of 130Pr to 130Ce suggests the existence of three β-instable isomeric states in 130Pr, while only one half-life T 1/2 = 40(4) s has been measured. Based on the present work and low-lying excited states in neighbouring odd-mass nuclei, the spins and parities of isomeric states in 130Pr are proposed to be 2+, (4,5)+ and (7,8±). The ground state in 130Pr is still undetermined. Received: 20 August 2001 / Accepted: 6 November 2001  相似文献

High spin states of 126La have been populated using the reaction 116Sn+14N at 68 MeV. γ-rays and conversion electrons were detected with the GAREL array. Multipolarities of the lowest-lying in-band dipole transitions have been determined from the deduced internal conversion coefficients. Experimental B(M1)/B(E2) ratios have been derived for the bands and compared with calculated values using the D?nau-Frauendorf geometrical model. Configurations are proposed for the bands comparing them with cranked shell model calculations and on the basis of the measured B(M1)/B(E2) ratios. The β-decay of 126La has also been revisited. The population of the 126Ba levels gives a probable spin value of five for the decaying high-spin 126La state with T 1/2≈ 64 s which may indicate a signature inversion in the πh11/2νh11/2 band. In recent experiments at GANIL, we studied nuclei at the one- and two-proton drip line. The production rates allowed to search for direct 2p emission in the drip line nuclei 42Cr, 45Fe, and 49Ni. No evidence for this decay mode was found in 42Cr and 49Ni, whereas the situation stays unclear for 45Fe due to the limited statistics. In the medium-mass region ( A = 50-70), the half-life was measured for all proton-rich nuclei in the range T z = 0 to T z = - 1 between Z = 27 and Z = 36. First half-lives were determined for 60Ga, 62Ge, 64As and 66Se. Finally, β-decay studies of the 0+ → 0+ decay of 62Ga have been performed at IGISOL in Jyv?skyl?. Non-analog transitions have been observed and are compared to theoretical predictions. Eighteen previously unknown γ-ray transitions were identified in the T z = - 1/2 nucleus 51Fe following the fusion-evaporation reaction 32S(28Si,2α1n)51Fe. The level scheme reaches the fully aligned I π = 27/2- terminating state of the five holes in the f 7/2 shell. The 17/2- state was found to be isomeric, and the lifetime was measured to be 2.87 ns. The mirror symmetry of 51Fe and 51Mn is discussed, and the level scheme of 51Fe is compared to shell-model calculations. Received: 20 July 2000 / Accepted: 1 August 2000  相似文献

Neutron deficient nuclei near 100Sn have been produced by fragmentation of a 1 . AGeV 112Sn beam. The fragments were separated, identified and stopped in a highly segmented silicon strip detector stack. This detector measured the total energy of emitted β+-particles. γ-radiation was measured with surrounding detectors. The half-lives for many nuclides have been determined for the first time and give important information for the following topics: For the heaviest particle-stable odd-odd nuclei 90Rh, 94Ag and 98In we observed for the first time fast β-decays, compatible with superallowed Fermi transitions and confirmed such decays for 78Y, 82Nb and 86Tc. We have also observed long-lived T = 0 states in some of these nuclei. We measured the half-lives of all rp-process waiting-point nuclei from 80Zr up to 92, 93Pd. In addition we find the proton drip line nucleus 77Y to decay dominantly via β-decay. To study the Gamov-Teller strength in the β-decay near the doubly magic 100Sn we measured the half-life, β- and γ-spectrum of 102Sn. We propose a level scheme for the daughter nuclide 102In and deduce the Gamov-Teller strength (B GT = 4.0±0.6). This is one of the largest values known. High-spin states of the mass A= 39 mirror pair 39K and 39Ca were investigated via the fusion-evaporation reaction 28Si +16O at 125 MeV beam energy. The Gammasphere array in conjunction with the 4π charged-particle detector array Microball and neutron detectors was used to detect γ rays in coincidence with evaporated light particles. The results of the first high-spin study of the T z=−1/2 nucleus 39Ca are discussed in terms of mirror symmetry and compared to spherical shell-model calculations in the 1d 3/2–; 1f 7/2 configuration space. The unknown β-decay half-lives of 22 isotopes far off stability (5 < T Z < 10) in the region from Ti to Ni were measured at GSI, Darmstadt. The nuclei were produced in a fragmentation reaction of 500 A.MeV 86Kr-projectile impinging on a thick Be target. The isotopes of interest were separated and identified with the fragment separator, FRS, by a combination of Bρ,Z, and ToF techniques. An additional range separation was performed by a selective implantation into granular detectors. The spatial and time correlations of the implant with the consecutively detected β-particles were used to determine the unknown half-lives. For nuclei far off stability, β-decay chains were measured and analyzed as well, leading to an even more reliable evaluation of the lifetimes. The large discrepancies found between the measured and the theoretical values emphasize that most recent theoretical work is not an improvement over calculations made almost a decade ago. High-spin states of the 44Ca nucleus populated in the 68 MeV 18O + 30Si reaction have been studied in a γ-γ-recoil coincidence experiment. The level scheme of 44Ca has been extended up to 12.2 MeV. In particular, the negative-parity band has been identified with the highest I = 13- level at 10.6 MeV. This state is interpreted as the band-terminating state for the ( d 3/2 -1 f 7/2 5) configuration. Received: 7 November 2001 / Accepted: 3 December 2001  相似文献

Prompt proton decay lines in 58Cu have been studied by means of high-resolution in-beam particle-γ coincidence spectroscopy using the GAMMASPHERE Ge-detector array in conjunction with a dedicated set of ancillary detectors including four ΔE-E silicon-strip telescopes. High-spin states in 58Cu have been populated via the heavy-ion fusion-evaporation reaction 28Si(36Ar, 1α1p1n) at 148 MeV beam energy. The full-width at half maximum for the proton peak could be reduced significantly compared to earlier experiments. The results indicate that only one prompt proton decay branch exists in the decay-out of the well-deformed band of 58Cu. Received: 11 March 2002 / Accepted: 10 April 2002  相似文献

Alpha-decay properties of the neutron-deficient isotope 185Pb were studied at the PSB-ISOLDE (CERN) on-line mass separator using the resonance ionisation laser ion source (RILIS). The nuclei of interest were produced in a 1.4 GeV proton-induced spallation reaction of a uranium graphite target. In contrast to previous studies, two α-decaying isomeric states were identified in 185Pb. The relative production of the isomers, monitored by their α-counting rates, could be significantly changed when a narrow-bandwidth laser at the RILIS setup was used to scan through the atomic hyperfine structure. Based on the atomic hyperfine structure measurements, along with the systematics for heavier odd-mass lead isotopes, the spin and the parity of these states were interpreted as 3/2- and 13/2+ and their nuclear magnetic moments were deduced. The α-decay energy and half-life value for the I π = 13/2+ isomer are E α = 6408(5) keV, T 1/2 = 4.3(2) s, respectively; while for the I π = 3/2- isomer ( T 1/2 = 6.3(4) s) two α-decays with E α1 = 6288(5) keV, I α1 = 56(2)% and E α2 = 6486(5) keV, I α2 = 44(2)% were observed. By observing prompt α-γ coincidences new information on the low-lying states in the daughter isotope 181Hg was obtained. Received: 7 February 2002 / Accepted: 19 February 2002  相似文献

The ground and a few excited states of the beryllium atom in external uniform magnetic fields are calculated by means of our 2D mesh Hartree-Fock method for field strengths ranging from zero up to 2.35×109 T. With changing field strength the ground state of the Be atom undergoes three transitions involving four different electronic configurations which belong to three groups with different spin projections S z = 0, - 1, - 2. For weak fields the ground state configuration arises from the 1s 22s 2, S z = 0 configuration. With increasing field strength the ground state evolves into the two S z = - 1 configurations 1s 22s2p -1 and 1s 22p -13d -2, followed by the fully spin polarised S z = - 2 configuration 1s2p -13d -24f -3. The latter configuration forms the ground state of the beryllium atom in the high field regime γ > 4.567. The analogous calculations for the Be + ion provide the sequence of the three following ground state configurations: 1s22s and 1s 22p -1 (S z = - 1/2) and 1s2p -13d -2 (S z = - 3/2). In this work we have identified and studied the decay of two new microsecond isomers 19/2- and 23/2+ in 131Sb. This neutron-rich nucleus was produced by thermal neutron-induced fission of 241Pu. The detection is based on time correlation between fission fragments selected by the LOHENGRIN spectrometer at ILL (Grenoble) and the γ-rays or conversion electrons from isomers. These new data on high-spin states complete the level scheme previously obtained from β-decay. A large fraction of the members of the πg 7/2ν(h 11/2 -1 d 3/2 -1) and πg 7/2νh 11/2 -2 multiplets are now known and were compared with a multi-particle shell model calculation. We present the recent experimental results on the 6He structure studied by the 6Li(t, 3He)6He reaction at 336 MeV. Above the conspicuous peaks for ground and first excited states for 6He, we have observed a broad structures at E x∼ 5 MeV, and E x∼ 15 MeV. The angular distribution of this structure exhibits the dominance of a ΔL = 1 transition, indicating the existence of intruder dipole states at low excitation energies in 6He. A slight admixture of positive-parity states in this structure has been indicated as well. Received: 1 May 2001 / Accepted: 4 December 2001  相似文献

Production yields and β-decay half-lives (T 1/2) of very neutron-rich indium isotopes were determined at CERN/ISOLDE using isobaric selectivity of a resonance-ionization laser ion-source. Beta-delayed neutron (βdn) multiscaling measurements have yielded improved T 1/2 for 206(6) ms 132In, 165(3) ms 133In and 141(5) ms 134In. With 92(10) ms 135In, a new r-process nuclide has been identified which acts as an important “waiting point” in the In isotopic chain for neutron densities in the range n n≃ 1024-1026 n/cm3, where the r-matter flow has already passed the A≃ 130 abundance peak region. The high-spin level structure of the 153Er nucleus has been reinvestigated by in-beam γ-ray and electron spectroscopy with (14N,pxn) reaction. Excitation energies, spin and parity assignments are unambiguously established for the two lowest isomers T 1/2≃ 380 ns and T1/2\simeq 10 ns. The characteristics of the third one (T 1/2≃ 250 ns) at 5.2 MeV are still questionable but its main decay modes are better known. An extension of the level scheme is proposed up to 8.4 MeV.Experimental results have been discussed in terms of shell model multiplets and compared with the other structures observed in N=85 neighbouring nuclei.
