We present a comparative analysis of mesonic, baryonic and Glueball Regge trajectories based on different parameters. The different inbuilt compositions of the three seem to serve as a basis for their individual identities. We discuss features such as crossed channel forces, signature, string models and also the dependence of the slope of the mesons and baryons on the fine structure constant. We infer that inspite of various inherent similarities, these three Regge trajectories have some distinctive features which serve as a basis for their identification.  相似文献

Based on analysis of scattering matrix S, and its properties such as analyticity, unitarity, Lorentz invariance, and crossing symmetry relation, the Regge theory was proposed to describe hadron-hadron scattering at high energies before the advent of QCD, and correspondingly a Reggeon concept was born as a mediator of strongly interaction. This theory serves as a successful approach and has explained a great number of experimental data successfully, which proves that the Regge theory can be regarded as a basic theory of hadron interaction at high energies and its validity in many applications. However, as new experimental data come out, we have some difficulties in explaining the data. The new experimental total cross section violates the predictions of Regge theory, which shows that Regge formalism is limited in its applications to high energy data. To understand new experimental measurements, a new exchange theory was consequently born and its mediator is called Pomeron, which has vacuum quantum numbers. The new theory named as Pomeron exchange theory which reproduces the new experimental data of diffractive processes successfully. There are two exchange mediators: Reggeon and Pomeron. Reggeon exchange theory can only produce data at the relatively lower energy region, while Pomeron exchange theory fits the data only at higher-energy region, separately. In order to explain the data in the whole energy region, we propose a Reggeon-Pomeron model to describe high-energy hadron- hadron scattering and other diffractive processes. Although the Reggeon-Pomeron model is successful in describing high-energy hadron-hadron interaction in the whole energy region, it is a phenomenological model. After the advent of QCD, people try to reveal the mystery of the phenomenological theory from QCD since hadron-hadron processes is a strong interaction, which is believed to be described by QCD. According to this point of view, we study the QCD nature of Reggeon and Pomeron. We claim that the Reggeon exchange is an exchange of mult  相似文献

The mass spectra of charmonia and bottomonia are calculated in the framework of the relativistic quark model up to high orbital and radial excitations. The Regge trajectories of heavy quarkonia are constructed both in the (J,M 2) and (n r ,M 2) planes, where J is the total angular momentum and nr is the radial quantum number. All daughter trajectories turn out to be almost linear and parallel, while parent trajectories exhibit some nonlinearity. Such nonlinearity occurs only in the vicinity of ground states and few lowest excitations and is more pronounced for bottomonia, while it is only marginal for charmonia. The obtained results are compared with available experimental data, and a possible interpretation of the new charmonium-like states above open charm production threshold is discussed.  相似文献

A Gaussian wave function is used for detailed study of the mass spectra of the B and BS mesons using a Cornell potential incorporated with a O(1/m) correction in the potential energy term and expansion of the kinetic energy term up to O p~(10) for relativistic correction of the Hamiltonian. The predicted excited states for the B and B_s mesons are in very good agreement with results obtained by experiment. We assign B_2(5747) and B_(s2()5840) as the 1~3P~2 state,B1(5721) and Bs1(5830) as the 1P_1 state,B0(5732) as the 1~3P_0 state,B_(s1)(5850) as the 1~P 1 state and B(5970) as the 2~3S_1 state. We investigate the Regge trajectories in the(J,M~2) and(nr,M~2) planes with their corresponding parameters. The branching ratios for leptonic and radiative-leptonic decays are estimated for the B and BS mesons. Our results are in good agreement with experimental observations as well as outcomes of other theoretical models.

The pomeron in high energy hadron hadron scattering as well as the QCD nature of the pomeron are discussed. We claimed that the pomeron may be the tenser glueball ξ(2 230) with quantum number I G =0 +, J PC =2 ++ . Under this reggeized glueball model the cross section of high energy proton proton scattering and the coupling parameter of the pomeron nucleon, β , are calculated. The theoretical results of the present model are in good agreement with experimental data.  相似文献

This work presents the subtraction procedure and the Regge cut in the logarithmic Regge pole approach. The subtraction mechanism leads to the same asymptotic behavior as previously obtained in the non-subtraction case. The Regge cut, in contrast, introduces a clear role to the non-leading contributions for the asymptotic behavior of the total cross-section. From these results, some simple parameterization is introduced to fit the experimental data for the proton-proton and antiproton-proton total cross-section above some minimum value up to the cosmic-ray. The fit parameters obtained are used to present predictions for the begin{document}$ rho(s)$end{document}-parameter as well as to the elastic slope begin{document}$ B(s)$end{document} at high energies.  相似文献

Under the assumption that both light and heavy quarkonia populate approximately linear Regge trajectories with the requirements of additivity of intercepts and inverse slopes, the masses of different meson multiplets are estimated. The predictions derived from the quasi-linear Regge trajectories are in reasonable agreement with those given by many other references.Received: 22 April 2004, Revised: 10 August 2004, Published online: 7 September 2004De-Min Li: lidm@zzu.edu.cnMailing address: Department of Physics, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, Henan, 450052, P.R. Using a non-relativistic gluon bound-state model for glueballs (G), we compute the subprocess $q\bar q \to G\pi $ , and we therefrom derive the yield of the overall reaction $p\bar p \to G\pi X$ , assuming the glueball and the pion to be emitted with their transverse momenta large, opposite and approximately equal. Numerical results are presented in the form ofp T spectra for various glueball candidates and their possible quantum states, assuming those particles to be produced, in the type of reactions here considered, at high-energy $p\bar p$ colliders such as the CERN $Sp\bar pS$ .  相似文献

We will relate the surprising Regge symmetry of the Racah-Wigner 6 j symbols to the surprising Okamoto symmetry of the Painlevé VI differential equation. This then presents the opportunity to give a conceptual derivation of the Regge symmetry, as the representation theoretic analogue of the derivation in [5, 3] of the Okamoto symmetry.  相似文献

(3+1) (continuous time) Regge calculus is reduced to the Hamiltonian form. For this purpose the tetrad-connection formulation of the Regge calculus is used: basic variables are connection matrices and antisymmetric area tensors with appropriate bilinear conditions imposed. In these variables the action can be made quasipolynomial (with arcsin as the only deviation from polynomiality). The constraints are classified, classical and quantum consequences are discussed.  相似文献

We study gluonic content of the pomeron and propose that the pomeron could be a reggeized tensor glueball ζ(2230) with quantum numbers IGJPc = 0+2++.This conjecture is examined in high energy proton-proton elastic scattering, and the calculations lend a favorable support to our physical idea.  相似文献
