Red-emitting Y2O3:Eu3+ and green-emitting Y2O3:Tb3+ and Y2O3:Eu3+, Tb3+ nanorods were synthesized by hydrothermal method. Their structure and micromorphology have been analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The photoluminescence (PL) property of Y2O3:Eu3+,Tb3+ phosphor was investigated. In the same host (Y2O3), upon excitation with ultraviolet (UV) irradiation, it is shown that there are strong emissions at around 610 and 545 nm corresponding to the forced electric dipole 5D0-7F2 transition of Eu3+ and 5D4-7F5 transition of Tb3+, respectively. Different qualities of Eu3+and Tb3+ ions are induced into the Y2O3 lattice. From the excitation spectrum, we speculate that there exists energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+ ions .The emission color of powders reveals regular change in the separation of light emission. These powders can meet with the request of optical display material for different colors or can be potentially used as labels for biological molecules.  相似文献

The crystalline structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties of europium-doped cerium dioxide synthesized by the solid-state reaction method were analyzed. CeO2:Eu3+ phosphor powders exhibit the pure cubic fluorite phase up to 10 mol% doping concentration of Eu3+. With indirect excitation of CeO2 host at 373 nm, the PL intensity quickly increases with increasing Eu3+ concentration, up to about 1 mol%, and then decreases indicating the concentration quenching. While with direct excitation (467 nm), much more stronger PL emissions, especially the electric dipole emission 5D0-7F2 at 612 nm, are observed and no concentration quenching occurs up to 10 mol% doping concentration of Eu3+. The nature of this behavior and the cause of the concentration quenching were discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel phosphor, Y6W2O15:Eu3+ was synthesized by thermal decomposition and phase transition of its decatungstate gel precursor. With stepwise increase of temperature to 750 °C, a crystalline phase of Y6W2O15:Eu3+forms that gives intense red emission when excited at 466 nm, the emission is attributed to the Eu3+ ions transitions from 5D0 excited states to 7FJ (J=0-4) ground states. The long excitation wavelength proves the Eu3+ transition follows the photoexcitation of the oxygen-metal (O→W lmct) charge transfer bands in yttrium tungstate. Some structural information regarding Y6W2O15 provided by luminescence is in accord with that characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The long-wavelength excitation properties of this material may find application in the production of red phosphors for white light-emitting diodes (LEDs).  相似文献

Low-temperature, dye-laser excitation spectroscopy of commercial Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphors reveals the presence of complex structure in the excitation lines of the 5D0 and 5D1 manifolds. The structure is associated with the presence of Eu3+ ion pairs. The kinetics of the emission decay are observed to be drastically different when excitation occurs either at the center or on the wings of the excitation lines, suggesting faster inter-level and/or inter-site energy transfer on exciting into the line wings. Low-temperature vibronic spectra are reported for the 7F05D0 transitions for both C2 and C3i sites. Evidence is presented for the detection of the highly forbidden 7F05D0 transition for the C3i site.  相似文献

A new nanostructure-mediated approach was demonstrated to synthesize Eu3+-doped yttrium oxysulfates Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ giving rise to abnormally enhanced Eu3+ emission. Yttrium and europium salts, sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS), and urea at various Eu3+ concentrations were reacted in aqueous solution at 80, 85, and 87 °C to yield Eu3+-doped dodecylsulfate-templated yttrium oxide mesophases with straight-layered (S-type), concentric-layered (C-type) and layer-to-hexagonal transient-layered (T-type) structures, respectively. On calcination at 1000 °C, all of these mesophases were converted into Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ to exhibit luminescence bands including the 5D0-7F2 transition with a tendency in intensity to saturate or reach a maximum at 10-12 mol% Eu doping. The Eu3+ emissions for Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ mediated by the T- and C-type mesophases were enhanced in intensity by a factor of about two and three times, respectively, stronger than those for not only compositionally the same sulfate Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ obtained from yttrium-based sulfates but also Y2O3:Eu3+ obtained in the SDS-free system. In contrast, the emission intensities for the S-type-mesophase-mediated Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ were close to those for the latter sulfates. The abnormally enhanced emission is likely based on specific deformation of sulfate groups induced through the conversion of concentric dodecylsulfate-layers to straight sulfate-layers in the oxysulfate framework upon calcination.  相似文献

Investigation was performed on luminescent properties of novel Gd2−x Eu x MoB2O9 (0.02≤x≤2.0) phosphors. The excitation spectra consist of broad band and intense narrow lines. The 4f-4f transitions are situated in a favorable position for excitation by GaN chip emission. The emission spectra consist of transitions from the 5D0 level to the lower 7F manifold, and the emission shows no concentration quenching at higher doping level. The decay time spectra of the 5D07F2 emission are recorded. Under 395 nm excitation, the intensity of 5D07F2 transition of GdEuMoB2O9 is 1.2 times stronger than that of commercial Eu3+:Y2O2S phosphor. Gd2MoB2O9:Eu3+ phosphors are promising candidates for near-UV-based solid-state-lighting (SSL).  相似文献

A comparative study of the luminescent properties of Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphor powders and thin films sputtered from targets prepared from combustion synthesized powders is reported. Thin films of (Y0.96Eu0.04)2O3 were deposited on silicon substrates. Films deposited at 600 °C had both monoclinic and cubic phases of Y2O3, which developed to an oriented cubic phase after annealing. Films and powders showed a linear dependence of the intensity of the 5D77F2 (611 nm) transition with temperature in the range 26-660 °C with an average rate of change of 1.8×10−4 °C−1. The rate of change appears to be dependent on the Eu3+ concentration. This work shows that these thin films can be used as thermographic phosphors for remote temperature measurements.  相似文献

In this work, we have investigated the photoluminescence spectra of europium-doped zinc oxide crystallites prepared by a vibrating milled solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, luminescence spectra and time-resolved spectra analysis were used to characterize the synthetic ZnO:Eu3+ powders. XRD results of the powders showed a typical wurtzite hexagonal crystal structure. A second phase occurred at 5 mol% Eu2O3-doped ZnO. The 5D0-7F1 (590 nm) and 5D0-7F2 (609 nm) emission characteristics of Eu3+ appeared after quenching with more than 1.5 mol% Eu2O3 doping. The Commission Internationale d’Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of a ZnO:Eu3+ host excited at λex=467 nm revealed a red-shift phenomenon with increase in Eu3+ ion doping. The lifetime of the Eu3+ ion decreased as the doping concentration was increased from 1.5 to 10 mol%, and the time-resolved 5D07F2 transition presents a single-exponential decay behavior.  相似文献

Synthesis and photoluminescence (PL) investigations of lithium metasilicate doped with Eu3+, Tb3+ and Ce3+ were carried out. PL spectra of Eu-doped sample showed peaks corresponding to the 5D07Fj (j=1, 2, 3 and 4) transitions under ultraviolet excitation. Strong red emission coming from the hypersensitive 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+ ion suggested the presence of the dopant ion in structurally disordered environment. Tb3+-doped silicate sample showed blue-green emission corresponding to the 5D47Fj (j=6, 5 and 4) transitions. Ce-doped sample under excitation from UV, showed a broad emission band in the region 350-370 nm with shoulders around 410 nm. The fluorescence lifetimes of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions were found out to be 790 and 600 μs, respectively. For Ce3+, the lifetime was of the order of 45 ns. PL spectra of the europium- and terbium-doped samples were compared with commercial red (Y2O3:Eu3+) and green (LaPO4:Tb3+) phosphors, respectively. It was found that the emission from the doped silicate sample was 37% of the commercial phosphor in case of the Tb-doped sample and 8% of the commercial phosphor in case of the Eu-doped sample.  相似文献

Intense photoluminescence at room temperature was observed in amorphous cadmium aluminum silicate doped with europium prepared by the sol-gel method. The structure of the 3CdO-Al2O3-3SiO2:Eu3+ system (CAS:Eu3+) has been determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The excitation and the emission spectra indicated that the red characteristic emission (611 nm) of CAS:Eu3+ under UV excitation due to 5D07F2 electric dipole transition is the strongest. Both XRD data and the emission ratio of (5D07F2)/(5D07F1) reveal that the Eu3+ is in a site without inversion symmetry. The maximum photoluminescence intensity has been obtained for 25 mol% concentration of Eu3+ in CAS, and the intensity enhancement and lifetime increase of Eu3+ with increasing sintering temperature were observed due to the less OH-content in the samples.  相似文献

YVO4:Eu3+-based red-emitting phosphors with the compositions of Y0.95−xVO4:0.05Eu3+,xBi3+ (x=0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07 and 0.09) and Y0.90(V1−zPz)O4:0.05Eu3+,0.05Bi3+ (z=0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9 and 1.0) were synthesized by the high temperature solid-state method. The as-prepared phosphors have the similar tetragonal phase structure and their morphologies varied with the relative content ratio of V to P. The photoluminescence spectra for the as-synthesized phosphors show that a dominant red emission line at around 619 nm, which is due to the Eu3+ electric dipole transition of 5D0-7F2, is observed under different excitation wavelengths (254 and 365 nm). Further, the emission intensities of 5D0-7F2 transition upon 365 nm excitation increase sharply owing to the Bi3+ doping. Energy transfer process, luminescent lifetime and quantum efficiency for the selected Y0.90(V1−yPy)O4:0.05Eu3+,xBi3+phosphors were also studied in detail.  相似文献

In this study, the red phosphors, Y2W1−xMoxO6:Eu3+ and Y2WO6:Eu3+,Bi3+, have been investigated for light-emitting diode (LED) applications. In Y2WO6:Eu3+, the excitation band edge shifts to longer wavelength with the incorporation of Mo6+ or Bi3+ ions. The emission spectra exhibit 5D07F1 and 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+ ion at 588, 593, and 610 nm, respectively. Moreover, the bluish-green luminescence of the WO66− at about 460 nm is observed to decrease with the incorporation of Mo6+, which results in pure red color. Thus, this study shows that the red phosphor, Y2WO6:Eu3+, incorporated with Mo6+ or Bi3+ ions is advantageous for LEDs applications.  相似文献

A nonhydrolytic hot solution synthesis technique was used to grow monodisperse ternary oxide nanocrystals of ZnGa2O4:Eu3+. The shape of ZnGa2O4:Eu3+ nanocrystals was a function of the type of precursor, and their size was controlled by changing the concentration ratio of Zn precursor to surfactant. The crystal structure of synthesized ZnGa2O4 nanocrystals was a cubic spinel with no detectable secondary phases. Photoluminescence of red-emitting ZnGa2O4:Eu3+ nanocrystals resulted in a high (5D0-7F2)/(5D0-7F1) intensity ratio, suggesting that the Eu3+ ions occupy tetrahedral Zn2+ sites or distorted octahedral Ga3+ sites with no inversion symmetry in ZnGa2O4 nanocrystals.  相似文献

The Y2O3:Eu3+,Mg2+,TiIV materials (xEu: 0.02, xMg: 0.08, xTi: 0.04) were prepared by solid state reaction. The purity and crystal structure of the material was studied with the X-ray powder diffraction. Luminescence properties were studied in the UV-VUV range with the aid of synchrotron radiation. The emission of Y2O3:Eu3+,Mg2+,TiIV had a maximum at 612 nm (λexc: 250 nm) due to the 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+. The excitation spectra (λem: 612 nm) showed a broad band at 233 nm, due to the charge transfer transition between O2− and Eu3+, and at 297 nm due to the Ti→Eu3+ energy transfer. Only very weak persistent luminescence was discovered. In the room and 10 K temperature excitation spectra, the line at 208 nm is due to the formation of a free exciton (FE) and a broad band at 199 nm was related to the valence-to-conduction band absorption of the Y2O3 host lattice. The absorption edge was ca. 205 nm giving 6.1 eV as the energy gap of Y2O3.  相似文献

By using metal nitrates as starting materials and citric acid as complexing agent, GdCaAl3O7:Eu3+ and GdCaAl3O7:Tb3+ powder phosphors were prepared by a citrate-gel method. Thermal analysis (TG-DTG), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), photoluminescence excitation and emission, as well as kinetic decays were employed to characterize the resulting samples. The results of the XRD indicated the precursor samples began to crystallize at 800 °C and the crystallinity increased with elevation the annealing temperature. TEM images showed that the phosphor particles were basically of spherical shape, with good dispersion about a particle size of around 40-70 nm. Upon excitation with UV irradiation, it is shown that there is a strong emission at around 617 nm corresponding to the forced electric dipole 5D0-7F2 transition of Eu3+, and at around 543 nm corresponding to the 5D4-7F5 transition of Tb3+. The dependence of photoluminescence intensity on Eu3+ (or Tb3+) concentration and annealing temperature were also studied in detail.  相似文献

A red-emitting phosphor NaSrB5O9:Eu3+ was synthesized by employing a solid-state reaction (SSR) method. The structures of the phosphors were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman studies. The band at ~282 nm in the excitation spectra indicated the charge transfer band (CTB) of B-O in the host, whereas the CTB of Eu-O was observed at ~275 nm for the NaSrB5O9:Eu3+ (Eu3+=1 at.%) phosphor, which was supported by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) measurements. The photoluminescence (PL) measurements exhibited a strong red emission band centered at about 616 nm (5D07F2) under an excitation wavelength of 394 nm (7F05L6). Upon host excitation at 282 nm, the pristine NaSrB5O9 exhibited a broad UV emission centered at ~362 nm. The energy transfer from host to Eu3+ ions was confirmed from luminescence spectra, excited with a 355 nm Nd:YAG laser. In addition, the asymmetric ratios indicate a higher local symmetry around the Eu3+ ion in the host. The calculated CIE (Commission International de l′Eclairage) coordinates displayed excellent color purity efficiencies (around 99.7%) compared to other luminescent materials.  相似文献

By introducing the Y3+ into Sr2P2O7:Eu2+, we successfully prepared a kind of new phosphor with blue long-lasting phosphorescence by the high-temperature solid-state reaction method. In this paper, the properties of Sr2P2O7:Eu2+,Y3+ were investigated utilizing XRD, photoluminescence, luminescence decay, long-lasting phosphorescence and thermoluminescence (TL) spectra. The phosphor emitted blue light that was related to the 4f65d1-8S7/2 transition of Eu2+. The bright blue phosphorescence could be observed by naked eyes even 8 h after the excitation source was removed. Two TL peaks at 317 and 378 K related to two types of defects appeared in the TL spectrum. By analyzing the TL curve the depths of traps were calculated to be 0.61 and 0.66 eV. Also, the mechanism of LLP was discussed in this report.  相似文献

Europium (Eu3+) doped YBa3B9O18 were synthesized by conventional solid state solidification methods. (Y1−xEux)Ba3B9O18 formed solid solutions in the range of x=0–1.0. The luminescence property measurements upon excitation in ultraviolet–visible range show well-known Eu3+ excitation and emission. The charge transfer excitation band of Eu3+ dominates the excitation spectra. The emission spectrum of Eu3+ ions consists mainly of several groups of lines in the 550–720 nm region, due to the transitions from the 5D0 level to the levels 7FJ (J=0, 1, 2, 3, 4) of Eu3+ ions. The dependence of luminescence intensity on Eu3+ concentration shows no concentration quenching for fully concentrated EuBa3B9O18. Eu3+ doped YBa3B9O18 are promising phosphors for applications in displays and optical devices.  相似文献

Vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excitation and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of Eu3+ ion doped borate phosphors; BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+ and SrAl2B2O7:Eu3+ are studied. The excitation spectra show strong absorption in the VUV region with the absorption band edge at ca. 200 nm for BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+ and 183 nm for SrAl2B2O7:Eu3+, respectively, which ensures the efficient absorption of the Xe plasma emission lines. In BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+, the charge transfer band of Eu3+ does not appear strongly in the excitation spectrum, which can be enhanced by co-doping Al3+ ion into the BaZr(BO3)2 lattices. The luminescence intensity of BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+ is also increased by Al3+ incorporation into the lattices. The PL spectra show the strongest emission at 615 nm corresponding to the electric dipole 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+ in both BaZr(BO3)2 and SrAl2B2O7, similar to that in YAl3(BO3)4, which results in a good color purity for display applications.  相似文献
