High temperature superconductors HoBa2Cu3O7−δ (T c ≅93 K), Ho0.5Y0.5Ba2Cu3O7−δ (T c ≅93 K) and ErBa2Cu3O7−δ (T c ≅95 K) were investigated by the zero-field μSR-technique. The muon spin depolarisation rate connected with the fluctuation frequency of rare-earth ion magnetic moments was measured. It was found that the samples with holmium show a fast increase of the muon spin depolarisation rate at temperatures below 20 K, while in ErBa2Cu3O7−δ the depolarisation rate remains low in the whole temperature region studied (4.2 K-270 K). The sharp difference between the behaviours of the muon spin depolarisation rate may be explained by the difference between the ground state of Ho3+ and Er3+ ions in the crystalline field of the lattice.  相似文献

A model is proposed based on electron hopping between octahedral Cu2+ and Cu3+ ions. Exchange interaction is assumed to be an electron-exciton one. Ground-state excitons are formed by freeze-in of the hopping process. The model is able to explain the main phenomena observed in the new high-T c superconductors.  相似文献

We have investigated the superconducting properties of the Bi1.7 Pb0.3Sr2Ca2−xCe x Cu3O10+δ system with x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08 and 0.1 by X-ray diffraction and magnetic susceptibility. The substitution of Ce for Ca has been found to drastically change the superconducting properties of the system. X-ray diffraction studies on these compounds indicate decrease in the c-parameter with increased substitution of Ce at Ca site and volume fraction of high T c (2 : 2 : 2 : 3) phase decreases and low T c phase increases. The magnetic susceptibility of this compound shows that the diamagnetic on set superconducting transition temperature (onset) varies from 109 K to 51 K for x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08 and 0.1. These results suggest the possible existence of Ce in a tetravalent state rather than a trivalent state in this system; that is, Ca2+ → Ce4+ replacement changes the hole carrier concentration. Hole filling is the cause of lowering T c of the system.  相似文献

Systematic studies on the structural, transport and magnetic properties of SrRu1−xCuxO3 (x=0.0–0.2) compounds have been performed. SrRu0.8Cu0.2O3 shows a tetragonal structure unlike the other compositions which exhibit a pseudo-cubic structure. Low temperature powder X-ray diffraction data of SrRu0.8Cu0.2O3 collected at a synchrotron beam line reveals that the tetragonal structure is stable down to 8 K. Ferromagnetic transition temperatures (Tc) are significantly reduced from 160 to 34 K with Cu doping. All the compositions exhibit irreversibilities in MZFC(T) and MFC(T) curves ascribable to the presence of domain structures. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the copper ions are anti-ferromagnetically coupled for concentrations higher than x=0.16. The antiparallel arrangement of Ru5+ ions with its neighboring cations also contributes to the large reduction in the observed magnetic moment. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy measurements show evidence for both tetravalent and pentavalent Ru ions while copper is in a divalent state. We conclude from our resistivity data that Cu2+ substitution promotes a polaronic type of conductivity.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the EPR spectrum of Cu2+ in the range 293–393 K exhibits a low-spin (S=0) to high-spin (S=2) transition of the Fe2+ ions, with hysteresis (T c↑=363 K,T c↓=343 K). At 103 K, the principal values of theg and hyperfine tensors of Cu2+ ions are revealed by hyperfine structure.  相似文献

Conductivity and superconductivity studies of amorphous [Sn1–y Cu y]1–x H x samples in connection with119Sn Mössbauer effect experiments on119Sn1–x H x give strong evidence that the observed increase of the superconducting transition temperatureT c in the Sn–H-system is caused by the stabilization of an amorphous structure. Thus the Sn–H-system is very similar to the Sn–Cu-system and no H-specific effect is needed to explain the increase ofT c.  相似文献

Evidence that pinning on linear or planar defects dominates the vortex dynamics in YBa2Cu3O7−x (YBCO) films is provided by complex impedance measurements at temperature 8 K<T<T c and magnetic field 0<B<6 T. Below the vortex lattice melting transition Bg(T) but above a threshold field Bp≈8(1-T/T c ) T, the inductance of vortices increases as B2, much less rapidly than predicted for collective pinning of vortices by point defects. Above the vortex melting line, critical scaling persists over the region Bg(T<B<B*(T) where the vortex correlation length ξ exceeds a characteristic length scale ξ*≡ξ(B=B*)≈450?. The value of ξ* is not sensitive to Al-doping in the Cu sites in the lattice and is close to the size of twin domains in the film. The nature of the observed crossovers is discussed in terms of available theoretical models for a glass-liquid transition at Bg.  相似文献

Various samples of single-phase YBa2Cu3O7–y have been examined by X-band ESR in theg2 region forTT c .The observed spectra are attributed to oxygen coordinated Cu2+ ions with a large delocalization of the unpaired spins. These are probably due, in part, to the inclusion of some impurity phase. However, an analysis of the intensity as a function of the temperature in different samples indicates that a possible intrinsic contribution to the ESR signal of Cu2+ ions from the superconducting phase is due, at most, to 1% of the total copper in the formula. This small quantity of isolated Cu2+ ions may be due to the presence of low symmetry Cu3+ ions or, equivalently, non-magnetic centers such as Cu2+–O pairs in the chains.CISM (M.P.I.) and GNSM (C.N.R.)  相似文献

A superconducting transition in the temperature dependence of the ab-plane resistivity of underdoped YBa2Cu3O6+x crystals in the range T c≲30 K has been investigated. Unlike the case of samples with the optimal level of doping, the transition width increased insignificantly with magnetic field, and in the range T≲13 K it decreased with increasing magnetic field. The transition point T c(B) was determined by analyzing the fluctuation conductivity. The curves of B c2(T) measured in the region T/T c≳0.1 did not show a tendency to saturation and had a positive second derivative everywhere, including the immediate neighborhood of T c. The only difference among the curves of B c2(T) for different crystal states is the scales of Tand B, so they can be described in terms of a universal function, which fairly closely follows Alexandrov’s model of boson superconductivity. Temperature dependent EPR measurements on copper doped Rb2ZnCl4 single crystals allowed us to evidence and study the P21cnC1c1 structural phase transition that takes place in this compound at 74.6 K. From the two types of Cu2+ centers localized at different anionic sites, called Cu2+(I) and Cu2+(II), which are formed in this compound, only the Cu2+(II) centers exhibit observable changes in their EPR spectra, attributable to the symmetry lowering. The observed changes have been related to the soft-mode responsible for the structural phase transition.  相似文献

The NMR spectra of 63Cu and 65Cu natural copper isotopes in a LiCu2O2 multiferroic single crystal compound have been measured above and below the temperature of magnetic phase transition (T c = 23 K) in zero magnetic field and in applied magnetic field H 0 = 94 kOe parallel to the c axis of the crystal. In LiCu2O2 below T c, a complicated helical magnetic structure with the magnetic moment of copper ions Cu2+ varying along the chain according to the harmonic law with the wave vector being incommensurate to the crystal lattice constants has been revealed. The experimental results have been successfully interpreted using the model based on the planar helical magnetic structure. It has been found that the plane of rotation for Cu2+ magnetic moments in LiCu2O2 does not coincide at H 0 = 0 with the ab plane. The high magnetic field (H 0 = 94 kOe) applied along the c axis of the single crystal does not affect the spatial orientation of the plane of rotation.  相似文献

The Effect of pressure on the superconducting transition temperature of Yb doped Ce0.6Yb0.4FeAsO0.9F0.1 has been investigated for the first time using resistivity and magnetization studies. Increase in chemical pressure by substitution of smaller Yb3+ ions in place of Ce3+ ions results in a significant enhancement of Tc from 38 K (Yb free) to 47 K (40% Yb). Enhancement in Tc with external pressure has been observed for this compound up to a maximum value of Tc = 48.7 K at 1 GPa, beyond which Tc starts decreasing monotonously. Electron-doped (Ba1−x La x )MnO3 compounds were prepared for x=0−0.5. Measurements of X-ray diffraction (XRD) at room temperature and temperature variation of dc electrical resistivity down to 20 K were carried out. Samples with x=0.2–0.5 exhibit metal-insulator (M-I) transition. The maximum M-I transition temperature (T c) of 289 K was observed for 30% of La doping (x=0.3). XRD patterns of these samples (x=0.2−0.5) were analyzed using Rietveld refinement. These samples are found to be mostly in single-phase form with orthorhombic symmetry (space group Pbnm). We have found strong correlation between Mn-O-Mn bond angles and T c of M-I transition. The resistivity data below T c could be fitted to the expression ρ=ρ 1+ρ 2 T 2 and this shows that double exchange interaction plays a major role even in Mn4+-rich compound. Above T c the resistivity data were fitted to variable range hopping and small polaron models.  相似文献

With the technique of infrared ellipsometry we performed a detailed study of the temperature- and doping dependence of the c-axis response of a series of YBa2Cu3O7−δ single crystals. In particular, we explored the anomalous electronic properties at temperatures above the macroscopic superconducting transition temperature, T c, whose conflicting explanations range from a precursor superconducting state to electronic correlations that compete with superconductivity. We show that the c-axis spectra provide evidence that both kinds of correlations are present and that their contributions can be disentangled based on an analysis with a so-called multilayer-model. We find that the onset temperature, T *, and the energy scale, ΔPG, of the competing pseudogap increase rapidly towards the underdoped side whereas they vanish on the overdoped side. In addition, we provide evidence that in a strongly underdoped sample the precursor superconducting correlations develop below an onset temperature, T ons, that is considerably lower than T * but still much higher than T c.  相似文献

The effect of γ irradiation on the temperature hysteresis in dielectric permittivity ɛ and loss tangent tan δ of crystalline Rb2ZnBr4 has been studied in the vicinity of the incommensurate-commensurate phase transition. The ɛ(T) and tan δ(T) curves were found to exhibit anomalies in the form of maxima. Hysteresis was observed in the measured properties, including the transition temperature T c T=T c h T c c ), in both unirradiated and irradiated samples. It is shown that, as the radiation dose increases the extent of the hysteresis ΔT increases, the values of ɛ max and tan δ max at the transition point decrease, and the anomalies wash out. Fiz. It is shown that by adopting a very gradual programmed cooling procedure in oxygen environment one can obtain a sharp transition (ΔT c⋍1 K) in YBa2Cu3O7−x while retaining the high-T c value (⋍105 K) of samples prepared by a semi-wet route. This is attributed to a maximum occupancy of oxygen at 0 1/2 0 sites and a near-perfect ordering of vacancies at 1/2 0 0 sites in the orthorhombic unit cell which maximizes the availability of conduction paths in the form of continuous CuO4 chains. Critical current densities (J c) of 204 A cm−2 are obtained for bulk samples at 77 K. It is suggested that the intergrain coupling is weak and thus limits the transportJ c-values.  相似文献

We have studied the stationary Josephson effect on YBa2Cu3O7−δ (Tc=90 K) and Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2 O8 (Tc=80 Kand 87 Kfortwosamplesofdifferentorigin) ceramic based junctions. The temperature dependence of the critical current near Tc has been found as Ic≈(Tc-T) for the Y-Ba-Cu-O samples indicating that they should be classified as S-N-I-N-S type junctions. The I-V curves of the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu samples show the typical behaviour of S-I-S structures. Using Ambegaokar-Baratoff's theory for Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8, the temperature dependence of the superconducting state gap Δ(T) was calculated and it was evaluated that 1.452Δ(0)/kBTc3.5.  相似文献

The appearance of superconductivity and relaxation of the transition temperature to its equilibrium value T c≈30 K over the course of five days have been observed in a tetragonal sample of NdBa2Cu3O6.67 under 1 GPa pressure. The time dependence T c(t) correlates with a decrease of the room-temperature electrical resistance R(t). The superconducting phase disappears 1.3 h after the pressure is removed. This behavior is explained by a redistribution of charge as a result of pressure-induced oxygen reordering in the CuOx planes. A large effect of oxygen ordering on the transition temperature under pressure has been observed near the metal-insulator transition (the largest of all those measured in the 1-2-3 system), along with a nonlinear temperature dependence of T c. EPR investigations using Cu2+ ion as a probe have been performed on supersaturated sucrose solution with percent concentration c = 66 as a function of temperature T, and at room temperature as a function of c. The motionally averaged spectrum of [Cu(H2O)6]2+ was used to monitor the changes in intermolecular interactions that occur as a function of [c, T]. A drastic increase in the line width, symptomatic of increase in the rotational correlation time of [Cu(H2O)6]2+, is observed between 293 and 288 K. The motionally averaged spectrum disappears below 281 K. The motionally averaged spectrum is also absent in the room temperature spectra of the solution with c= 85. Even in the [c, T] range where [Cu(H2O)6]2 is found to be nearly static, these molecules appear to have an orientational fluctuation manifesting in the m 1 dependence of the line width of the parallel component.  相似文献
