A diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:Lu0.15Y0.85VO4 laser with a GaAs output coupler is demonstrated. By using a mixed crystal Nd:Lu0.15Y0.85VO4 as laser medium, the passively Q-switched laser can generate shorter pulse width with higher peak power in comparison with
the passively Q-switched Nd:LuVO4 or Nd:YVO4 lasers under the same laser cavity. At the incident pump power 11.9 W, the minimum pulse width of 3.23 ns and the maximum
peak power 1.67 kW can be obtained. The average output power and the pulse repetition rate of the laser are also measured.
The experimental results show that the mixed crystal is a promising laser medium for shorter Q-switched pulse with higher

We experimentally demonstrated a high-efficiency passively Q-switched Yb:CaYAlO4 (Yb:CYA) laser based on a semiconductor-saturable absorber mirror (SESAM), and the output characteristics of the laser including the average output power, repetition frequency, pulse duration, pulse energy and pulse peak power were investigated by adopting output mirrors with different transmittances. When the transmittance of the output mirror was 5% and the pump power was set at about 7.76 W, a maximum average output power of as high as 2.480 W was achieved with a slope efficiency and light-to-light efficiency of the Q-switched Yb:CYA laser of up to 37.1% and 31.2%, respectively. 相似文献

An efficient diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/Cr4+:YAG laser was employed to generate a high-repetition-rate, high-peak-power eye-safe laser beam with an intracavity optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on a KTP crystal. The conversion efficiency for the average power is 8.3% from pump diode input to OPO signal output and the slope efficiency is up to 10%. At an incident pump power of 14.5 W, the compact intracavity OPO cavity, operating at 46 kHz, produces average powers at 1571 nm up to 1.2 W with a pulse width as short as 700 ps. A passively Q-switched a-cut Nd:YVO4 self-stimulating Raman laser using a Cr:YAG saturable absorber has been demonstrated for the first time. The maximum average
output power of the self-Raman laser at 1176 nm is 347 mW at the incident pump power of 10 W with a pulse repetition frequency
(PRF) of 66 kHz. The pulse width, pulse energy of the 1176 nm are found to be 10 ns and 5.6 μJ. The conversion efficiency
from diode laser input power to Raman output power is 3.47%. 相似文献

The power scaling capacity of a diode end-pumped Yb:KLu(WO4)2 laser, operating in the continuous-wave (cw) and passively Q-switched regimes, has been investigated. A cw output power of
11.5 W was achieved with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 41% with respect to the incident pump power, while the slope
efficiency amounts to 60%. The passively Q-switchedoperation yielded an average output power of 4.3 W at the fundamental wavelength
of 1031.7 nm, and 1.15 W of Raman radiation at 1139.3 nm. The total slope efficiency for Q-switched operation was 40%. The
highest pulse energy, duration, and peak power were 170 μJ, 2.2 ns, and 77.3 kW for the fundamental radiation, and 51 μJ,
2.3 ns, and 22.2 kW for the Raman radiation.

The character of a diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/V3+:YAG 912 nm laser was demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge. With an absorbed pump power of 7.4 W, an average output
power of 360 mW with a Q-switched pulse width of 328 ns at a pulse repetition rate of 163 kHz was obtained. The Q-switching
efficiency was found to be 32.7%. Our work further indicated V3+:YAG could be an effective fast passive Q-switch for 0.9 μm radiation. 相似文献

By using a-cut Nd:Lu0.15Y0.85VO4 mixed crystal as laser gain medium, a diode-pumped passively Q-switched and mode-locked (QML) laser with a GaAs saturable
absorber in a Z-type folded cavity is demonstrated for the first time. The Q-switched mode-locked laser pulses with about 90% modulation
depth are obtained as long as the pump power reached the oscillation threshold. The repetition rate of the passively Q-switched
pulse envelope ranges from 50 to 186 kHz as the pump power increases from 0.915 to 6.520 W. Under an incident pump power of
6.52 W, the QML pulses with the largest average output power of 694 mW, the shortest pulse width of 200 ns and the highest
pulse energy of 3.73 μJ are obtained. The mode-locked pulse width inside the Q-switched envelope is estimated to be about
275 ps. The experimental results show that Nd:Lu0.15Y0.85VO4 is a promising mixed crystal for QML laser. 相似文献

A passively Q-switched 1.06 μm laser with Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber by direct 879 nm diode pumping grown-together composite GdVO4/Nd:GdVO4 crystal to the emitting level was demonstrated in this paper. The characteristics of pulsed laser were investigated by using
two kinds of Cr4+:YAG crystal with the initial transmissivity of 80 and 90%, respectively. When the T

By using a piece of single-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber, the performance of the passively Q-switched composite
Nd:YVO4 laser has been demonstrated for the first time. The maximum average output power and the shortest pulse width are 1220 mW
and 103 ns at the incident pump power of 5.04 W for a 10% transmission of the output coupler. The highest pulse repetition
rate of 415.6 kHz and the largest single-pulse energy of 2.94 μJ are also obtained. The composite Nd:YVO4 crystal has more excellent laser performance than the normal Nd:YVO4 crystal at 1064 nm. 相似文献

A diode pumped Nd:Y0.5Lu0.5VO4 pulse laser modulated with an acousto-optic (AO) Q-switcher and Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber is first demonstrated in this paper. The laser is shown to generate shorter pulse width than AO Q-switched

The efficient dual-wavelength oscillation at 1064 and 1342 nm in the passively Q-switched laser based on Nd:YVO4/V3+:YAG is successfully obtained, as demonstrated in this paper. A total average output power of 2.2 W is obtained with 1.3 W
for 1064 nm and 0.9 W for 1342 nm under the incident pump power of 7.7 W, corresponding to a total optical-optical conversion
efficiency of 28.2%. The pulse widths are 58 and 54 ns for 1064 and 1342 nm, respectively, with the repetition rate of 89
kHz. Moreover, a rate equation model considering the Gaussian spatial distributions of the intracavity photon density and

Efficient and compact yellow green pulsed laser output at 543 nm is generated by frequency doubling of a passively Q-switched end diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser at 1086 nm under the condition of sup-pressing the higher gain transition near 1064 nm. With 15 W of diode pump power and the frequency doubling crystal LBO, as high as 1.58 W output power at 543 nm is achieved. The optical to optical conversion efficiency from the corresponding Q-switched fundamental output to the yellow green output is 49%. The peak power of the Q-switched yellow green pulse laser is up to 30 kW with 5 ns pulse duration. The output power stability over 8 hours is better than 2.56% at the maximum output power. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest watt-level laser at 543 nm generated by frequency doubling of a passively Q-switched end diode pumped Nd:YVO4 laser at 1086 nm. 相似文献

A compact efficient diode-end-pumped acousto-optically Q-switched intracavity-frequency-tripled Nd:YVO4 355 μm ultraviolet laser was realized. Intracavity sub-resonators with anti-reflection and high-reflection coated mirrors
were used to get higher efficiency of third harmonic generation. With two LBO crystals used in frequency doubling and tripling
processes, greater than 1.46 W 355 nm average output power was obtained under the absorbed pump power of 13.9 W and the repetition
rate of 10 kHz. The corresponding pump-to-ultraviolet conversion efficiency was determined to be as high as 10.5%. At 10 kHz,
the minimize pulse width was obtained to be 12 ns with the peak power of 10.4 kW and single pulse energy of 146 μJ. 相似文献

We report on a passively mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser using a novel graphene oxide saturable absorber fabricated by vertical evaporation method. An 880 nm LD pump source
was used to reduce the thermal load of the laser crystal. At the pump power of 7.4 W, 1.2 W average output power of continuous
wave mode-locked laser with optical conversion efficiency of 16.2% was achieved. To the best of our knowledge, this is the
highest output power of passively mode-locked solid-state laser using graphene oxide saturable absorber. The repetition rate

I report the first demonstration of the generation of efficient sub-nanosecond self-stimulated Raman pulses by a diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/Cr4+:YAG laser. The conversion efficiency for the average power is 7% from pump diode input to self-Raman output and the slope efficiency is up to 14%. At an incident pump power of 2.0 W, the pulse duration, pulse energy, and peak power for the Stokes wavelength of 1175.6 nm were found to be 750 ps, 6.3 J, and 8.4 kW, respectively, with a pulse-repetition rate of 22 kHz. We report on a passively Q-switched and mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser using a novel low-cost wall-paper graphene oxide absorber. Sandwich structured wallpaper graphene oxide absorber was
constructed by a high transmission mirror, a piece of wallpaper graphene oxide absorber and a reflective mirror. The average
output power of 310 mW of passively Q-switched and mode-locked laser was successfully achieved. The repetition rate and pulse
width of the Q-switched envelope were 213 kHz and 770 ns, respectively. The repetition rate of passively mode-locked pulse
