An anthraquinone (AQ)-based dimer and trimer linked by a triple bond (−C≡C−) were newly synthesized as active materials for the positive electrode of rechargeable lithium batteries. These synthesized oligomers exhibited an initial discharge capacity of about 200 mAh g−1 with an average voltage of 2.2–2.3 V versus Li(C.E.). These capacity values are similar to that of the AQ-monomer, reflecting the two-electron transfer redox per AQ unit. Regarding their cycling stability, the capacity of the monomer electrode quickly decreased; however, the electrodes of the prepared oligomers showed an improved cycling performance. In particular, the discharge capacities of the trimer remained almost constant for 100 cycles. A theoretical calculation revealed that the intermolecular binding energy can be increased to the level of a weak covalent bonding by oligomerization, which would be beneficial to suppress the dissolution of the organic active materials into the electrolyte solutions. These results show that the cycle-life of organic active materials can be extended without lowering the discharge capacity by the oligomerization of the redox active molecule unit.  相似文献

A series of nanostructured carbon/antimony composites have been successfully synthesized by a simple sol–gel, high‐temperature carbon thermal reduction process. In the carbon/antimony composites, antimony nanoparticles are homogeneously dispersed in the pyrolyzed nanoporous carbon matrix. As an anode material for lithium‐ion batteries, the C/Sb10 composite displays a high initial discharge capacity of 1214.6 mAh g?1 and a reversible charge capacity of 595.5 mAh g?1 with a corresponding coulombic efficiency of 49 % in the first cycle. In addition, it exhibits a high reversible discharge capacity of 466.2 mAh g?1 at a current density of 100 mA g?1 after 200 cycles and a high rate discharge capacity of 354.4 mAh g?1 at a current density of 1000 mA g?1. The excellent cycling stability and rate discharge performance of the C/Sb10 composite could be due to the uniform dispersion of antimony nanoparticles in the porous carbon matrix, which can buffer the volume expansion and maintain the integrity of the electrode during the charge–discharge cycles.  相似文献

Organosulfur compounds with multiple thiol groups are promising for high gravimetric energy density electrochemical energy storage. We have synthesized a poly(2,5‐dimercapto‐1,3,4‐thiadiazole) (PDMcT)/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) composite cathode for lithium‐ion batteries with a new method and investigated its electrochemical behavior by charge/discharge cycles and cyclic voltammetry (CV) in an ether‐based electrolyte. Based on a comparison of the electrochemical performance with a carbonate‐based electrolyte, we found a much higher discharge capacity, but also a very attractive cycling performance of PDMcT by using a tetra(ethylene glycol) dimethyl ether (TEGDME)‐based electrolyte. The first discharge capacity of the as‐synthesized PDMcT/PEDOT composite approached 210 mAh g?1 in the TEGDME‐based electrolyte. CV results clearly show that the redox reactions of PDMcT are highly reversible in this TEGDME‐based electrolyte. The reversible capacity remained around 120 mAh g?1 after 20 charge/discharge cycles. With improved cycling performance and very low cost, PDMcT could become a very promising cathode material when combined with a TEGDME‐based electrolyte. The poor capacity in the carbonate‐based electrolyte is a consequence of the irreversible reaction of the DMcT monomer and dimer with the solvent, emphasizing the importance of electrolyte chemistry when studying molecular‐based battery materials.  相似文献

A series of electrochromic electron‐accepting poly(chalcogenoviologen)s with multiple, stable, and reversible redox centers were used as anodic materials in organic radical lithium‐ion batteries (ORLIBs). The introduction of heavy atoms (S, Se, and Te) into the viologen scaffold significantly improved the capacity and cycling stability of the ORLIBs. Notably, the poly(Te‐BnV) anode was able to intercalate 20 Li ions and showed higher conductivity and insolubility in the electrolyte, thus contributing to a reversible capacity of 502 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1 when the Coulombic efficiency approached 100 %. The charged/discharged state of flexible electrochromic batteries fabricated from these anodic materials could be monitored visually owing to the unique electrochromic and redox properties of the materials. This study opens a promising avenue for the development of organic polymer‐based electrodes for flexible hybrid visual electronics.  相似文献

An organo‐functionalized polyoxometalate (POM)–pyrene hybrid (Py‐Anderson) has been used for noncovalent functionalization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to give a Py‐Anderson‐CNT nanocomposite through π–π interactions. The as‐synthesized nanocomposite was used as the anode material for lithium‐ion batteries, and shows higher discharge capacities and better rate capacity and cycling stability than the individual components. When the current density was 0.5 mA cm?2, the nanocomposite exhibited an initial discharge capacity of 1898.5 mA h g?1 and a high discharge capacity of 665.3 mA h g?1 for up to 100 cycles. AC impedance spectroscopy provides insight into the electrochemical properties and the charge‐transfer mechanism of the Py‐Anderson‐CNTs electrode.  相似文献

Lithium–sulfur batteries are amongst the most promising candidates to satisfy emerging energy‐storage demands. Suppression of the polysulfide shuttle while maintaining high sulfur content is the main challenge that faces their practical development. Here, we report that 2D early‐transition‐metal carbide conductive MXene phases—reported to be impressive supercapacitor materials—also perform as excellent sulfur battery hosts owing to their inherently high underlying metallic conductivity and self‐functionalized surfaces. We show that 70 wt % S/Ti2C composites exhibit stable long‐term cycling performance because of strong interaction of the polysulfide species with the surface Ti atoms, demonstrated by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies. The cathodes show excellent cycling performance with specific capacity close to 1200 mA h g?1 at a five‐hour charge/discharge (C/5) current rate. Capacity retention of 80 % is achieved over 400 cycles at a two‐hour charge/discharge (C/2) current rate.  相似文献

Hierarchically structured tin oxide/reduced graphene oxide (RGO)/carbon composite powders are prepared through a one‐pot spray pyrolysis process. SnO nanoflakes of several hundred nanometers in diameter and a few nanometers in thickness are uniformly distributed over the micrometer‐sized spherical powder particles. The initial discharge and charge capacities of the tin oxide/RGO/carbon composite powders at a current density of 1000 mA g?1 are 1543 and 1060 mA h g?1, respectively. The discharge capacity of the tin oxide/RGO/carbon composite powders after 175 cycles is 844 mA h g?1, and the capacity retention measured from the second cycle is 80 %. The transformation during cycling of SnO nanoflakes, uniformly dispersed in the tin oxide/RGO/carbon composite powder, into ultrafine nanocrystals results in hollow nanovoids that act as buffers for the large volume changes that occur during cycling, thereby improving the cycling and rate performances of the tin oxide/RGO/carbon composite powders.  相似文献

Metal–organic framework‐derived NiCo2.5S4 microrods wrapped in reduced graphene oxide (NCS@RGO) were synthesized for potassium‐ion storage. Upon coordination with organic potassium salts, NCS@RGO exhibits an ultrahigh initial reversible specific capacity (602 mAh g?1 at 50 mA g?1) and ultralong cycle life (a reversible specific capacity of 495 mAh g?1 at 200 mA g?1 after 1 900 cycles over 314 days). Furthermore, the battery demonstrates a high initial Coulombic efficiency of 78 %, outperforming most sulfides reported previously. Advanced ex situ characterization techniques, including atomic force microscopy, were used for evaluation and the results indicate that the organic potassium salt‐containing electrolyte helps to form thin and robust solid electrolyte interphase layers, which reduce the formation of byproducts during the potassiation–depotassiation process and enhance the mechanical stability of electrodes. The excellent conductivity of the RGO in the composites, and the robust interface between the electrodes and electrolytes, imbue the electrode with useful properties; including, ultrafast potassium‐ion storage with a reversible specific capacity of 402 mAh g?1 even at 2 A g?1.  相似文献

Core–shell hierarchical porous carbon spheres (HPCs) were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method and used as host to incorporate sulfur. The microstructure, morphology, and specific surface areas of the resultant samples have been systematically characterized. The results indicate that most of sulfur is well dispersed over the core area of HPCs after the impregnation of sulfur. Meanwhile, the shell of HPCs with void pores is serving as a retard against the dissolution of lithium polysulfides. This structure can enhance the transport of electron and lithium ions as well as alleviate the stress caused by volume change during the charge–discharge process. The as‐prepared HPC‐sulfur (HPC‐S) composite with 65.3 wt % sulfur delivers a high specific capacity of 1397.9 mA h g?1 at a current density of 335 mA g?1 (0.2 C) as a cathode material for lithium–sulfur (Li‐S) batteries, and the discharge capacity of the electrode could still reach 753.2 mA h g?1 at 6700 mA g?1 (4 C). Moreover, the composite electrode exhibited an excellent cycling capacity of 830.5 mA h g?1 after 200 cycles.  相似文献

Ion diffusion efficiency at the solid–liquid interface is an important factor for energy storage and adsorption from aqueous solution. Although K2Mn4O8 (KMO) exhibits efficient ion diffusion and ion‐exchange capacities, due to its high interlayer space of 0.70 nm, how to enhance its mass transfer performance is still an issue. Herein, novel layered KMO/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanocomposites are fabricated through the anchoring of KMO nanoplates on RGO with a mild solution process. The face‐to‐face structure facilitates fast transfer of lithium and lead ions; thus leading to excellent lithium storage and lead ion adsorption. The anchoring of KMO on RGO not only increases electrical conductivity of the layered nanocomposites, but also effectively prevents aggregation of KMO nanoplates. The KMO/RGO nanocomposite with an optimal RGO content exhibits a first cycle charge capacity of 739 mA h g?1, which is much higher than that of KMO (326 mA h g?1). After 100 charge–discharge cycles, it still retains a charge capacity of 664 mA h g?1. For the adsorption of lead ions, the KMO/RGO nanocomposite exhibits a capacity of 341 mg g?1, which is higher than those of KMO (305 mg g?1) and RGO (63 mg g?1) alone.  相似文献

Porous carbon with high specific surface area (SSA), a reasonable pore size distribution, and modified surface chemistry is highly desirable for application in energy storage devices. Herein, we report the synthesis of nitrogen‐containing mesoporous carbon with high SSA (1390 m2 g?1), a suitable pore size distribution (1.5–8.1 nm), and a nitrogen content of 4.7 wt % through a facile one‐step self‐assembly process. Owing to its unique physical characteristics and nitrogen doping, this material demonstrates great promise for application in both supercapacitors and encapsulating sulfur as a superior cathode material for lithium–sulfur batteries. When deployed as a supercapacitor electrode, it exhibited a high specific capacitance of 238.4 F g?1 at 1 A g?1 and an excellent rate capability (180 F g?1, 10 A g?1). Furthermore, when an NMC/S electrode was evaluated as the cathode material for lithium–sulfur batteries, it showed a high initial discharge capacity of 1143.6 mA h g?1 at 837.5 mA g?1 and an extraordinary cycling stability with 70.3 % capacity retention after 100 cycles.  相似文献

Metal–organic framework cathodes usually exhibit low capacity and poor electrochemical performance for Li‐ion storage owing to intrinsic low conductivity and inferior redox activity. Now a redox‐active 2D copper–benzoquinoid (Cu‐THQ) MOF has been synthesized by a simple solvothermal method. The abundant porosity and intrinsic redox character endow the 2D Cu‐THQ MOF with promising electrochemical activity. Superior performance is achieved as a Li‐ion battery cathode with a high reversible capacity (387 mA h g?1), large specific energy density (775 Wh kg?1), and good cycling stability. The reaction mechanism is unveiled by comprehensive spectroscopic techniques: a three‐electron redox reaction per coordination unit and one‐electron redox reaction per copper ion mechanism is demonstrated. This elucidatory understanding sheds new light on future rational design of high‐performance MOF‐based cathode materials for efficient energy storage and conversion.  相似文献

Porous carbon anodes with a controllable Vmes/Vmic ratio were synthesized through the self‐assembly of poly(benzoxazine‐co‐resol) and the simultaneous hydrolysis of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) followed by carbonization and removal of silica. The Vmes/Vmic ratio of the carbon can be controlled in the range of approximately 1.3–32.6 through tuning the amount of TEOS. For lithium‐ion battery anodes, a correlation between the electrochemical performance and Vmes/Vmic ratio has been established. A high Vmes/Vmic ratio in porous carbons is favorable for enhancing the accessibility of Li ions to active sites provided by the micropores and for achieving good lithium storage performance. The obtained porous carbon exhibits a high reversible capacity of 660 mAh g?1 after 70 cycles at a current density of 100 mA g?1. Moreover, at a high current density of 3000 mA g?1, the capacity still remains at 215 mAh g?1, showing a fast charge‐discharge potential. This synthesis method relying on modified benzoxazine chemistry with the hydrolysis of TEOS may provide a new route for the development of mesoporous carbon‐based electrode materials.  相似文献

Rational composite materials made from transition metal sulfides and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) are highly desirable for designing high‐performance lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). Here, rGO‐coated or sandwiched CoSx composites are fabricated through facile thermal sulfurization of metal–organic framework/GO precursors. By scrupulously changing the proportion of Co2+ and organic ligands and the solvent of the reaction system, we can tune the forms of GO as either a coating or a supporting layer. Upon testing as anode materials for LIBs, the as‐prepared CoSx‐rGO‐CoSx and rGO@CoSx composites demonstrate brilliant electrochemical performances such as high initial specific capacities of 1248 and 1320 mA h g?1, respectively, at a current density of 100 mA g?1, and stable cycling abilities of 670 and 613 mA h g?1, respectively, after 100 charge/discharge cycles, as well as superior rate capabilities. The excellent electrical conductivity and porous structure of the CoSx/rGO composites can promote Li+ transfer and mitigate internal stress during the charge/discharge process, thus significantly improving the electrochemical performance of electrode materials.  相似文献

A large‐scale hierarchical assembly route is reported for the formation of SnO2 on the nanoscale that contains rigid and robust spheres with irregular channels for rapid access of Li ions into the hierarchically structured interiors. Large volume changes during the process of Li insertion and extraction are accommodated by the SnO2 nanoflake spheres’ internal porosity. The hierarchical SnO2 nanoflake spheres exhibit good lithium storage properties with high capacity and long‐lasting performance when used as lithium‐ion anodes. A reversible capacity of 517 mA h g?1, still greater than the theoretical capacity of graphite (372 mA h g?1), after 50 charge–discharge cycles is attained. Meanwhile, the synthesis process is simple, inexpensive, safe, and broadly applicable, providing new avenues for the rational engineering of electrode materials with enhanced conductivity and power.  相似文献

Biomass‐derived porous carbon BPC‐700, incorporating micropores and small mesopores, was prepared through pyrolysis of banana peel followed by activation with KOH. A high specific BET surface area (2741 m2 g?1), large specific pore volume (1.23 cm3 g?1), and well‐controlled pore size distribution (0.6–5.0 nm) were obtained and up to 65 wt % sulfur content could be loaded into the pores of the BPC‐700 sample. When the resultant C/S composite, BPC‐700‐S65, was used as the cathode of a Li–S battery, a large initial discharge capacity (ca. 1200 mAh g?1) was obtained, indicating a good sulfur utilization rate. An excellent discharge capacity (590 mAh g?1) was also achieved for BPC‐700‐S65 at the high current rate of 4 C (12.72 mA cm?2), showing its extremely high rate capability. A reversible capacity of about 570 mAh g?1 was achieved for BPC‐700‐S65 after 500 cycles at 1 C (3.18 mA cm?2), indicating an outstanding cycling stability.  相似文献

This work demonstrates a facile in situ synthesis of cobalt–manganese mixed sulfide (CoMn‐S) nanocages on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) sheets by using a crystalline Co–Mn precursor as the sacrificial template. The CoMn‐S/RGO hybrid was applied as the anode for Li‐ion storage and exhibited superior specific capacity, excellent cycling performance, and great rate capability. In particular, lithium storage testing revealed that the hybrid delivered high discharge–charge capacities of 670 mA h g−1 at 1.0 A g−1 after 400 cycles and 925 mA h g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 after 300 cycles. The outstanding electrochemical performance of CoMn‐S/RGO is attributed to the close entanglement of nanocages with RGO nanosheets achieved by the synthetic method, which greatly improves ion/electron transport along the interfaces and efficiently mitigates volume dilation during lithium reactions. This rational design of both the composition and architecture of mixed metal sulfides can be expanded to other composite systems for high‐capacity Li‐ion batteries and provides a unique insight into the development of advanced hybrid electrode materials.  相似文献

A mesoporous flake‐like manganese‐cobalt composite oxide (MnCo2O4) is synthesized successfully through the hydrothermal method. The crystalline phase and morphology of the materials are characterized by X‐ray diffraction, field‐emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller methods. The flake‐like MnCo2O4 is evaluated as the anode material for lithium‐ion batteries. Owing to its mesoporous nature, it exhibits a high reversible capacity of 1066 mA h g?1, good rate capability, and superior cycling stability. As an electrode material for supercapacitors, the flake‐like MnCo2O4 also demonstrates a high supercapacitance of 1487 F g?1 at a current density of 1 A g?1, and an exceptional cycling performance over 2000 charge/discharge cycles.  相似文献

A novel room temperature rechargeable battery with VOCl cathode, lithium anode, and chloride ion transporting liquid electrolyte is described. The cell is based on the reversible transfer of chloride ions between the two electrodes. The VOCl cathode delivered an initial discharge capacity of 189 mAh g?1. A reversible capacity of 113 mAh g?1 was retained even after 100 cycles when cycled at a high current density of 522 mA g?1. Such high cycling stability was achieved in chloride ion batteries for the first time, demonstrating the practicality of the system beyond a proof of concept model. The electrochemical reaction mechanism of the VOCl electrode in the chloride ion cell was investigated in detail by ex situ X‐ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results confirm reversible deintercalation–intercalation of chloride ions in the VOCl electrode.  相似文献

Although the synthesis of mesoporous materials is well established, the preparation of TiO2 fiber bundles with mesostructures, highly crystalline walls, and good thermal stability on the RGO nanosheets remains a challenge. Herein, a low‐cost and environmentally friendly hydrothermal route for the synthesis of RGO nanosheet‐supported anatase TiO2 fiber bundles with dense mesostructures is used. These mesostructured TiO2‐RGO materials are used for investigation of Li‐ion insertion properties, which show a reversible capacity of 235 mA h g?1 at 200 mA g?1 and 150 mA h g?1 at 1000 mA g?1 after 1000 cycles. The higher specific surface area of the new mesostructures and high conductive substrate (RGO nanosheets) result in excellent lithium storage performance, high‐rate performance, and strong cycling stability of the TiO2‐RGO composites.  相似文献
