An efficient enantioselective construction of tetrahydronaphthalene‐1,4‐diones as well as dihydronaphthalene‐1,4‐diols by a chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed quinone Diels–Alder reaction with dienecarbamates is reported. The nature of the protecting group on the diene is key to the success of achieving high enantioselectivity. The divergent “redox” selectivity is controlled by using an adequate amount of quinones. Reversible redox switching without erosion of enantioselectivity was possible from individual redox isomers. 相似文献

The direct enantioselective 1,4‐ and 1,8‐arylations of 7‐methide‐7H‐indoles and 6‐methide‐6H‐indoles, respectively, generated in situ from diarylmethanols, with electron‐rich arenes as nucleophiles, has been achieved in the presence of chiral phosphoric acids (CPAs). These two remote activation protocols provide an efficient approach for the construction of diverse hetero‐triarylmethanes in high yields (up to 97 %) and with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 96 %). Mechanistically inspired experiments tentatively indicate that the catalytic enantioselective 1,4‐addition as well as the formal SN1 substitution could proceed efficiently in the similar catalytic systems. Furthermore, the modification of the catalytic system and diarylmethanol structure successfully deviates the reactivity toward a remote, highly enantioselective 1,8‐arylation reaction. This flexible activation mode and novel reactivity of diarylmethanols expand the synthetic potential of chiral phosphoric acids. 相似文献

An unprecedented way to extend the synthetic utility of the Diels–Alder reaction to include a vinylogous reactivity space is described. A commercially available chiral phosphoric acid catalyst effectively activates cyclic 2,4‐dienones towards a vinylogous [4+2] cycloaddition with 2‐vinylindoles, which leads to stereochemically dense tetrahydrocarbazoles. The reaction proceeds with a high level of remote stereocontrol and exclusive chemoselectivity for the more distant double bond of the dienone. 相似文献

Panacea for aldol desymmetrizations : We describe an easy entry for the desymmetrization of 4‐substituted‐cyclohexanones catalyzed by proline, using as cocatalysts different hydrogen‐bonding donors (see scheme), which dramatically improves the catalytic efficiency of proline in desymmetrization reactions.

An organocatalyst formed from a binaphthyl‐substituted diamine and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid exhibited unprecedented levels of exo selectivity in the Diels–Alder reaction of α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes with cyclopentadiene. A novel axially chiral diamine was also designed as an organocatalyst for an asymmetric variant of this reaction, in which the desired cycloadducts were formed with high diastereo‐ and enantioselectivities. The highest diastereoselectivity observed was greater than 20:1 in favor of the exo cycloadduct in the asymmetric Diels–Alder reaction of crotonaldehyde with cyclopentadiene. 相似文献

Can achiral organocatalysts linked to chiral polyanionic metal oxide clusters provide good selectivity in enantioselective C?C bond formations? The answer to this question is investigated by developing a new active hybrid polyoxometalate‐based catalyst for asymmetric Diels–Alder reaction. Chirality transfer from the chiral anionic polyoxometalate to the covalently linked achiral imidazolidinone allows Diels–Alder cycloaddition products to be obtained with good yields and high enantioselectivities when using cyclopentadiene and acrylaldehydes as partners. 相似文献

An asymmetric two‐step approach to chiral bridged tricyclic benzopyrans, core structures featured in various natural products, is described. In the synthesis, an unprecedented enantioselective catalytic decarboxylative Diels–Alder reaction is developed using readily available coumarin‐3‐carboxylic acids and aldehydes as reactants under mild reaction conditions. Notably, the decarboxylation‐assisted release of the catalyst enables the process to proceed efficiently with high enantio‐ and diastereoselectivity. Furthermore, a one‐pot procedure for either a LiAlH4‐ or NaBH4‐mediated reduction with subsequent acid‐catalyzed intramolecular cyclization of the Diels–Alder adducts was identified for the efficient formation of the chiral bridged tricyclic benzopyrans. 相似文献

The first catalytic asymmetric inverse‐electron‐demand (IED) oxa‐Diels–Alder reaction of ortho‐quinone methides, generated in situ from ortho‐hydroxybenzyl alcohols, has been established. By selecting 3‐methyl‐2‐vinylindoles as a class of competent dienophiles, this approach provides an efficient strategy to construct an enantioenriched chroman framework with three adjacent stereogenic centers in high yields and excellent stereoselectivities (up to 99 % yield, >95:5 d.r., 99.5:0.5 e.r.). The utilization of ortho‐hydroxybenzyl alcohols as precursors of dienes and 3‐methyl‐2‐vinylindoles as dienophiles, as well as the hydrogen‐bonding activation mode of the substrates met the challenges of a catalytic asymmetric IED oxa‐Diels–Alder reaction. 相似文献

In this review, the recent developments in catalytic asymmetric inverse‐electron‐demand hetero‐Diels−Alder reaction, which is recognized as one of the most powerful routes to construct highly functionalized and enantioenriched six‐membered heterocycles, are described. The article is organized on the basis of different kinds of electron‐deficient heterodienes, including α,β‐unsaturated ketones/aldehydes, o‐benzoquinones, α,β‐unsaturated imines, N‐aryl imines, o‐benzoqinone imides, and other aza‐olefins. 相似文献

Diels–Alder reactions employing 1,2‐azaborine heterocycles as 1,3‐dienes are reported. Carbocyclic compounds with high stereochemical and functional complexity are produced, as exemplified by the straightforward two‐step synthesis of an amino allyl boronic ester bearing four contiguous stereocenters as a single diastereomer. Whereas electron‐deficient dienophiles undergo irreversible Diels–Alder reactions, a reversible Diels–Alder reaction with the less electron‐deficient methyl acrylate is observed. Both the N and the B substituent of the 1,2‐azaborine exert significant influence on the [4+2] cycloaddition reactivity as well as the aromatic character of the heterocycle. The experimentally determined thermodynamic parameters of the reversible Diels–Alder reaction between 1,2‐azaborines and methyl acrylate correlate with aromaticity trends and place 1,2‐azaborines approximately between furan and thiophene on the aromaticity scale. 相似文献
