Magnesium ions, which exist in formation water and injection water under downhole conditions in the oil and gas production industry, are a key determinant in the CaCO3 scale formation. Many studies have focused their attention on the effect of magnesium on the kinetics, the morphology and the content of Mg in the Ca-CO3 scale. Little attention has been paid to the effect of Mg^2 on the initial stages of CaCO3 formation on a metal surface. In this study, an electrochemical technique was used to study the influence of Mg^2 on the ini-tial stages of CaCO3 scale formed on a metal surface. With this electrochemical technique, the reduction of the dissolved oxygen in an analysis solution is considered on the surface of a rotating disk electrode (RDE) un-der potentiostatic control. The rate of oxygen reduction on the surface of the RDE enables the extent of sur-face coverage of scale to be assessed. With this electrochemical technique, a new insight into the effect of Mg^2 on CaCO3 scale formed on a metal surface is given.  相似文献

The chromatographic behavior of native titania was investigated in aqueous normal phase chromatography using a set of N-methylated xanthines as polar test solutes. In agreement with a hydrophilic interaction on a polar bed, the retention of xanthine models increased mainly along their molecular polarity. Adsorption of these molecules on the hydrated surface of titania prevailed as a retention mechanism for low water contents in the mobile phase. Several N-methylated xanthines could be easily discriminated along the number and position of their methyl groups while the nitrogen atom at position 3 was found deeply involved in the retention on titania. To get further insights on the interactions occurring on the surface of titania, the retention of xanthine derivatives based on ligand-exchange was evaluated as a function of the buffer concentration and type. The separation efficiency of native titania for the set of N-methylated xanthines was comparable to that observed on zirconia but lower than that obtained on native silica due to mixed-mode interactions. However, titania exhibited a superior ability to recognize several isomeric positions of xanthine derivatives in comparison to zirconia and silica.  相似文献

The consumption of titanium dioxide in today's world is on the increase. As the most popular nano substance, TiO2 is used in various industries notably in the textile industry. More and more recently, through a synergistic combination of photocatalytic features of nanoparticles, fabrics with novel properties are produced. Self-cleaning and stability against UV rays as well as chemical media, to name but a few, are among new prominent properties, obtained on textiles. A common subject reported in most studies has been the diverse approaches to immobilize the nanoparticles on the surface of fabrics. Wool is among common textile materials that have undergone numerous processes to be modified. This review intends to bring to light different aspects of application of nano titanium dioxide in the textile industry especially on wool, and also presents a concise overview on the rigorous pieces of research conducted in this realm.  相似文献

 In order to ensure food consumer protection as well as to avoid barriers to trade and unnecessary duplications of laboratory tests and to gain mutual recognition of results of analyses, the quality of laboratories and test results has to be guaranteed. For this purpose, the EC Council and the Commission have introducedprovisions – on measures for quality assurance for official laboratories concerning the analyses of foodstuffs on the one hand and animals and fresh meat on the other, – on the validation of test methods to obtain results of sufficient accuracy. This article deals with legal requirements in the European Union on basic principles of laboratory quality assurance for official notification to the EC Commission and on method validation concerning official laboratories. Widespread discussions and activities on measurement uncertainty are in progress, and the European validation standards for official purposes may serve as a basis for world-wide efforts on quality harmonization of analytical results. Although much time has already been spent, definitions and requirements have to be revised and further additions have to be made.  相似文献

The method established previously for studying the etching rates of micro-scale silicon and silica was used to study the etching process of silicon and silica on the Si(100)surface. Photolithography was used to pattern a positive photoresist mask to confine the etching area,and the atomic force microscopy was used to probe the etched surface. The lateral etching rate of silicon or silica on the silicon surface was defined,and the lateral and longitudinal etching rates of silicon and silica on the Si(100)surface in 40% ammonium fluoride aqueous solution were measured. The effect of the dissolved oxygen on the etching rates was studied by bubbling the solution with high purity nitrogen. The lateral and longitudinal etching rates of silicon and silica on the(100)surface increase with temperatures except for the lateral etching rate of silica in a N2 -bubbled solution which probably reaches the limit of diffusion controlled reaction. The etching rates of silicon and thermal silica on the Si(100)surface show remarkable difference with that on the Si(111)surface in both air-saturated and N2 -bubbled solutions. The apparent activation energies for the silicon and silica etching processing in ammonium fluoride solution were obtained from the etching rates at different temperatures in the range 20. 6-34. 1℃. The similarity of the apparent activation energies for the etching processing of silicon and silica on the(100)surface to that on the(111)surface probably suggests that the rate-determined-step is the same in both cases. A lot of gas bubbles are seen to aggregate on the surface in silicon dissolution process at 38. 2℃,and it is found that the gas bubbles have great influence on the silicon etching rate. The formation of bubbles accelerates the silicon dissolution at the beginning but blocks the etching as the bubbles gradually aggregate on the surface.  相似文献

In previous papers on the electro-optic effects of beta-FeOOH particles we proposed a new procedure for analysis of the low frequency behavior of charged particles. The procedure is based on comparison of characteristic field intensity curves on an appropriate scale and helps to test the dependence of the slow effects on particle surface electric polarizability (relaxing in the kilohertz domain). The results stimulated us to test the applicability of the method to other samples and to reconsider the literature data on the electro-optic behavior of charged colloids in the hydrodynamic domain. The aim of the present paper is to demonstrate on a series of samples similar features of the electro-optic responses of charged particles in the relaxation interval of particle rotation. The analysis leads to a new hypothesis for explanation of the complicated low frequency behavior of charged particles. The superposition of two slow effects (linear and quadratic with field intensity), relaxing in the relaxation interval of particle rotation, can explain the complicated frequency curves in this domain. One of the slow effects is observed for all polarizable particles. It is of negative sign and displays the features of an induced dipole effect dependent on the "kilohertz" induced moment. It corresponds to a slow stage of the surface polarization process related to electrokinetic charge. The linear slow effect shows permanent dipole like behavior and appears only at certain ionic content of the medium. It shows no direct dependence on counterion mobility and on the "kilohertz" induced moment and is probably due to surface charge nonuniformity.  相似文献

 This article mainly focuses on the testing of products, materials, etc., but the general principles are applicable in a broader perspective. Quality of testing should be judged based on fitness for purpose. This judgement includes both objective and subjective elements. The possibility to make decisions and other professional judgements based on test results alone is discussed and compared with the decisions and judgements being made through the certification and inspection process. Quality, including the uncertainty of the test results, depends on many factors, and in order to make necessary improvements in the testing procedures based on the customers' needs, the right issues should be addressed. The question arises as to whether, in laboratories' quality systems and in the accreditation and certification process, attention is really paid to those factors that are crucial to obtaining reliable results.  相似文献

首先介绍湿法冶金和材料制备过程中钙镁结晶危害的工业现状及其对溶液化学和结晶相化学基础研究的要求,然后系统地评述相关体系溶液化学和相化学基础研究的进展.接着在作者的系统工作及文献结果分析基础上指出:钙在重金属硫酸盐体系高温溶解度的实验研究、能描述硫酸盐离子缔合的合理热力学预测模型、硫酸盐水溶液结构的光谱和量子化学研究、以及硫酸盐水溶液高温下水的活度测定等是未来研究工作的重点.这些研究工作将加深对重金属湿法冶金过程中钙镁结晶危害行为及规律的认识,为廉价、环保地避免钙镁结晶危害的新工艺开发奠定了重要基础.  相似文献

Bacteria are very small and highly susceptible to the effects of intermolecular forces. Especially, bacteria living on solid-air interfaces are under a strong influence from the surface tension of water. During studies of bacteria which prefer to live on surfaces, we noted that some species of bacteria (e.g. Serratia marcescens) secrete large amounts of wetting agents (e.g. serrawettins). Therefore, we isolated mutants defective in the production of wetting agents and examined the physiological functions of these wetting agents by comparing the behavior of wild types and mutants on surface environments. In terms of accessibility to the water-repelling surfaces and spreading growth on solid media. mutants demonstrated inferior abilities in comparison with wild types. Thus, the ability of S. marcescens to form a giant fractal colony through nutrient-diffusion-limited growth processes was shown to be defective in the serrawettinless mutants. In the locomotion of flagellated bacteria on surfaces, the bacteria seem to overcome various restrictive intermolecular forces. In contrast to swimming in a liquid, a single bacterium alone was unable to translocate on a surface. By video-microscopic analyses, the cooperative multicellular behavior of bacteria was clearly demonstrated. The remarkable effects of wetting agents on such microbial swarming behavior on surfaces were also disclosed.  相似文献

A significant growth of research on adaptive liquid lens is achieved over the past decades, and the field is still attracting increasing attentions, focusing on the transition from the current stage to the commercialized stage. The challenges faced are not limited to fabrication, material, small tuning range in focal lengths, additional control systems, limitations in special actuation methods and so on. In addition, the use of external driving parts or systems induce extra problem on bulky appearance, high cost, low reliability etc. Therefore, adaptive liquid lens will be an interesting research focus in both microfluidics and optofluidics science. This review attempts to summarize and focus on the droplet profile deformation under different driving mechanisms in tunable liquid microlens as well as the application in cameras, cell phone and so on. In this work, ConA and CramoLL lectins were immobilized on gold nanoparticles (AuNp) with polyvinyl butyral (PVB), and adsorbed on the surface of gold (Au) electrodes. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), in the frequency range from 100mHz to 100KHz, and cyclic voltammetry (CV), from -0.2 to 0.7V, were performed on these electrodes, in phosphate buffer (PBS) solution containing 10mM K(3)[Fe(CN)(6)]/K(4)[Fe(CN)(6)] (1:1) mixture as a redox probe. EIS and CV measurements showed that redox probe reactions on the modified Au electrodes were partially blocked due to the adsorption of AuNp-ConA-PVB and AuNp-CramoLL-PVB. SEM images showed the presence of aggregates of AuNp-ConA on PVB spherules in a tridimensional structure on the surface of the Au electrode. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) was adsorbed on the AuNp-Lectin-PVB modified electrode in order to block the remaining free gold sites. Both EIS and CV techniques yielded results that confirm positive responses of the lectins to ovalbumin agglutination. These results indicate an improvement of the sensitivity for detection of sugars that can be applicable to construction of a biosensor sensitive to glycoproteins in solution.  相似文献

Lightweight aggregate is an important material in reducing the unit weight of concrete and it is essential in the construction of high-rise buildings; besides, the use of recycled PET bottles as lightweight aggregate in concrete is an effective contribution for environmental preservation. So, the objective of the present work is to study the flexural strength of PET-concrete and PET thermal degradation in the concrete, when the blends with 10 and 20 vol% of PET are exposed to different temperatures (200, 400, 600 °C). The flexural strength of PET-concrete exposed to a heat source is strongly dependent on the temperature, the water/cement ratio, as well as on the content and particle size of PET. Furthermore, the activation energy for PET degradation is affected by temperature, location of PET particles on the slabs and the water/cement ratio. A higher content of water gives rise to hydrolytic degradation on PET and a higher vapor pressure that increases the formation of cracks on the concrete. The values of activation energy are higher on the center of the slabs than on the surface, due to the poor heat conduction of concrete.  相似文献

 通过原位担载法将铁系催化剂担载于煤表面,考察了催化剂前驱体的相态、配位环境以及在载体表面的分散状态.采用X射线吸收精细结构和X射线衍射法对原位担载型铁系催化剂前驱体进行了表征.结果表明,催化剂前驱体在煤表面以非晶态、高分散的形式存在,其化学组成主要为FeOOH,且催化剂前驱体的分散程度与载体煤的物理化学性质有关.  相似文献

In response to increasing scientific evidence on the toxicity and occurrence of organotin residues from antifouling paints in the aquatic environment, the use of triorganotin antifouling products was banned on boats of less than 25 m length in many countries during 1987. The use of tributyltin (TBT) products on small boats was superseded by products based on copper, containing organic booster biocides to improve the efficacy of the formulation. Available information and evidence on the occurrence, fate and toxicity of these biocides is reviewed. It is concluded that increased copper concentrations in the aquatic environment, due to the increased use of copper‐based antifoulants, do not have significant effects on marine ecosystems. However, lack of validated analytical methods, limited monitoring data, and very little information about the fate and toxicity of the booster biocides in the aquatic environment, make accurate risk assessments in relation to these compounds difficult. Studies on the theoretical principles of acid–base equilibria are reviewed and the influence of temperature on secondary chemical equilibria within the context of separation techniques, in water and also in aqueous-organic solvent mixtures, is discussed. In order to define the relationships between the retention in liquid chromatography or the migration velocity in capillary electrophoresis and temperature, the main properties of acid–base equilibria have to be taken into account for both, the analytes and the conjugate pairs chosen to control the solution pH. The focus of this review is based on liquid–liquid extraction (LLE), liquid chromatography (LC) and capillary electrophoresis (CE), with emphasis on the use of temperature as a useful variable to modify selectivity on a predictable basis. Simpli?ed models were evaluated to achieve practical optimizations involving pH and temperature (in LLE and CE) as well as solvent composition in reversed-phase LC.  相似文献

In contrast to enamel, dentin surfaces have been rarely used as substrates for studies evaluating the effects of experimental rinsing solutions on oral biofilm formation. The aim of the present in situ study was to investigate the effects of tannic acid and chitosan on 48-h biofilm formation on dentin surfaces. Biofilm was formed intraorally on dentin specimens, while six subjects rinsed with experimental solutions containing tannic acid, chitosan and water as negative or chlorhexidine as positive control. After 48 h of biofilm formation, specimens were evaluated for biofilm coverage and for viability of bacteria by fluorescence and scanning electron microscopy. In addition, saliva samples were collected after rinsing and analyzed by fluorescence (five subjects) and transmission electron microscopy (two subjects) in order to investigate the antibacterial effect on bacteria in a planktonic state and to visualize effects of the rinsing agents on salivary proteins. After rinsing with water, dentin specimens were covered by a multiple-layered biofilm with predominantly vital bacteria. In contrast, chlorhexidine led to dentin surfaces covered only by few and avital bacteria. By rinsing with tannic acid both strong anti-adherent and antibacterial effects were observed, but the effects declined in a time-dependent manner. Transmission electron micrographs of salivary samples indicated that aggregation of proteins and bacteria might explain the antiadhesion effects of tannic acid. Chitosan showed antibacterial effects on bacteria in saliva, while biofilm viability was only slightly reduced and no effects on bacterial adherence on dentin were observed, despite proteins being aggregated in saliva after rinsing with chitosan. Tannic acid is a promising anti-biofilm agent even on dentin surfaces, while rinsing with chitosan could not sufficiently prevent biofilm formation on dentin.  相似文献

The genus of Mallotus contains several species commonly used as traditional medicines in oriental countries. A data set containing 39 Mallotus samples, differing in species, cultivation conditions, harvest season and/or part of the plant was used to develop fingerprints on two dissimilar chromatographic systems. An exploratory analysis with principal component analysis (PCA) was performed on both data sets individually. The results were also combined to obtain additional information on the unknown samples included in the data set. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity of the samples was measured and modelled as a function of the fingerprints using the orthogonal projections to latent structures (O-PLS) technique. The regression coefficients of the models were studied to indicate the peaks potentially responsible for the antioxidant activity. The indicated peaks were analyzed and identified by HPLC coupled to mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). Because of the complexity of biological samples, it was aspired to separate co-eluting components based on the significant difference in chromatographic selectivity on the dissimilar systems and consequently obtain additional, complementary information on the contribution of the individual components to the antioxidant activity. The results illustrate the potential use of dissimilar chromatographic systems. Several initially co-eluting compounds could be separated on the dissimilar system. The corresponding regression coefficients provided complementary information on the potential antioxidant activity of the separated compounds.  相似文献

The fabrication of solar cells based on the transfer of a thin silicon film on a foreign substrate is an attractive way to realise cheap and efficient photovoltaic devices. The aim of this work is to realise a thin mono-crystalline silicon film on a double porous silicon layer in order to detach and transfer it on mullite. The first step is the fabrication of a double porous silicon layer by electrochemical anodisation using two different current densities. The low current leads to a low porosity layer and during annealing, the recrystallisation of this layer allows epitaxial growth. The second current leads to a high porosity which permits the transfer on to a low cost substrate. Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE) performed with indium (or In+Ga) in the temperature range of 950–1050°C leads to almost homogeneous layers. Growth rate is about 0.35 μm min−1. Crystallinity of the grown epilayer is similar on porous silicon and on single crystal silicon. In this paper, we focus on the realisation of porous silicon sacrificial layer and subsequent LPE growth.
