Several mononuclear Ni(II) complexes of the type [Ni(L)(CH(3)CN)(2)](BPh(4))(2) 1-7, where L is a tetradentate tripodal 4N ligand such as N,N-dimethyl-N',N'-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (L1), N,N-diethyl-N',N'-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (L2), N,N-dimethyl-N'-(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl)-N'-(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (L3), N,N-dimethyl-N',N'-bis(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (L4), N,N-dimethyl-N',N'-bis(quinolin-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (L5), tris(benzimidazol-2-ylmethyl)amine (L6) and tris(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)amine (L7), have been isolated and characterized using CHN analysis, UV-Visible spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The single-crystal X-ray structures of the complexes [Ni(L1)(CH(3)CN)(H(2)O)](ClO(4))(2) 1a, [Ni(L2)(CH(3)CN)(2)](BPh(4))(2) 2, [Ni(L3)(CH(3)CN)(2)](BPh(4))(2) 3 and [Ni(L4)(CH(3)CN)(2)](BPh(4))(2) 4 have been determined. All these complexes possess a distorted octahedral coordination geometry in which Ni(II) is coordinated to four nitrogen atoms of the tetradentate ligands and two CH(3)CN (2, 3, 4) or one H(2)O and one CH(3)CN (1a) are located in cis positions. The Ni-N(py) bond distances (2.054(2)-2.078(3) ?) in 1a, 2 and 3 are shorter than the Ni-N(amine) bonds (2.127(2)-2.196(3) ?) because of sp(2) and sp(3) hybridizations of the pyridyl and tertiary amine nitrogens respectively. In 3 the Ni-N(im) bond (2.040(5) ?) is shorter than the Ni-N(py) bond (2.074(4) ?) due to the stronger coordination of imidazole compared with the pyridine donor. In dichloromethane/acetonitrile solvent mixture, all the Ni(ii) complexes possess an octahedral coordination geometry, as revealed by the characteristic ligand field bands in the visible region. They efficiently catalyze the hydroxylation of alkanes when m-CPBA is used as oxidant with turnover number (TON) in the range of 340-620 and good alcohol selectivity for cyclohexane (A/K, 5-9). By replacing one of the pyridyl donors in TPA by a weakly coordinating -NMe(2) or -NEt(2) donor nitrogen atom the catalytic activity decreases slightly with no change in the selectivity. In contrast, upon replacing the pyridyl nitrogen donor by the strongly σ-bonding imidazolyl or sterically demanding quinolyl/benzimidazolyl nitrogen donor, both the catalytic activity and selectivity decrease, possibly due to destabilization of the intermediate [(4N)(CH(3)CN)Ni-O˙](+) radical species. Adamantane is selectively (3°/2°, 12-17) oxidized to 1-adamantanol, 2-adamantanol and 2-adamantanone while cumene is selectively oxidized to 2-phenyl-2-propanol. In contrast to cyclohexane oxidation, the incorporation of sterically hindering quinolyl/benzimidazolyl donors around Ni(ii) leads to a high 3°/2° bond selectivity for adamantane oxidation. A linear correlation between the metal-ligand covalency parameter (β) and the turnover number has been observed.  相似文献

A series of nickel(II) complexes with polydentate aminopyridine ligands N,N,N'-tris-[2-(2'-pyridyl)ethyl]ethane-1,2-diamine (L1), N,N,N'-tris-[2-(2'-pyridyl)ethyl]-N'-methylethane-1,2-diamine (L2), and N,N'-bis-[2-(2'-pyridyl)ethyl]-N,N'-dimethylethane-1,2-diamine (L3) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies showed that the Ni(II) ions have five-coordinate square-pyramidal geometry in [NiL2](ClO(4))(2), similar to that previously found in [NiL1](ClO(4))(2) x CH(3)NO(2) (Hoskins, B. F.; Whillans, F. D.J. Chem. Soc., Dalton Trans. 1975, 657), and square-planar geometry in [NiL3](ClO(4))(2). All three nickel(II) complexes are reduced by sodium borohydride or sodium amalgam in organic solvents to nickel(I) species, which were identified by highly anisotropic EPR spectra at 100 K: g(1) = 2.239, g(2) = 2.199, and g(3) = 2.025 for [NiL1](+); g(axially) = 2.324 and g(radially) = 2.079 for [NiL2](+) and [NiL3](+). Cyclic voltammetry of the nickel(II) complexes in acetonitrile exhibited reversible reduction waves at -1.01 V for [NiL1](2+), -0.91 V for [NiL2](2+), and -0.83 V for [NiL3](2+) versus SCE, potentials which are significantly less negative than those of most previously characterized Ni(II) complexes with nitrogen-only donor atoms. Complexes [NiL1](2+) and [NiL2](2+) showed high catalytic activity in the electroreduction of 1,2-trans-dibromocyclohexane to cyclohexene.  相似文献

The iron-assisted hydroxylation of benzoic acid to salicylic acid by 1/H2O2 has been achieved in good yield under mild conditions (where is [Fe(II)(BPMEN)(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2 and BPMEN =N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine); the product of this reaction is a novel mononuclear iron(III) complex with a chelating salicylate.  相似文献

The synthesis of the new potentially hexadentate ligands N,N'-bis(2,2'-bipyridin-6-ylmethyl)butane-1,4-diamine (bmbu), N,N'-bis(2,2'-bipyridin-6-ylmethyl)pentane-1,5-diamine (bmpt) and N,N'-bis(2,2'-bipyridin-6-ylmethyl)octane-1,8-diamine (bmot) from the condensation of 2,2'-bipyridine-6-carbaldehyde with the appropriate diamine (butane-1,4-diamine, pentane-1,5-diamine and octane-1,8-diamine, respectively) and subsequent reduction, is reported. Bmet, bmpp and bmbu all form mononuclear complexes with first-row transition metal ions (Co(3+), Fe(2+), Ni(2+), Mn(2+)), and X-ray structures of [Mn(bmet)](ClO(4))(2), [Ni(bmet)](ClO(4))(2), [Fe(bmet)](ClO(4))(2), [Mn(bmpp)](ClO(4))(2)·2MeCN and [Co(bmpp)](ClO(4))(3)·H(2)O are reported. As the aliphatic methylene chain increases in length, formation of dinuclear, and in some cases trinuclear, complexes becomes more pronounced, as evidenced by mass spectral analysis of solutions containing Ni(2+) and bmpt, and Ni(2+), Fe(2+) and Mn(2+) with bmot. The increasing preference for multinuclear complexes with increasing chain length is ascribed to the difficulty of incorporating a medium-sized (8 to 13-membered) chelate ring in a mononuclear complex.  相似文献

The preparation of a series of multidentate pyridyl-imine ligands, L1-L3, and their reactivity with the Mn(II)/N3- system is described (L1 = [N,N-bis(pyridine-2-yl)benzylidene]ethane-1,2-diamine; L2 = [N,N-bis(pyridine-2-yl)benzylidene]propane-1,3-diamine, and L3 = [N,N-bis(pyridine-2-yl)benzylidene]butane-1,4-diamine). Complexes comprising dinuclear end-on bis(mu-azido)-bridged manganese(II) units of formulas [Mn2(L1)2(N3)4][Mn2(L1)2(N3)2(CH3OH)2](ClO4)2 (two cocrystallized dinuclear units, 1.2), [Mn2(L2)2(N3)2](ClO4)2 (3), and [Mn2(L3)2(N3)2](ClO4)2 (4) have been synthesized. The crystal structures of complexes 1-4 as well as their magnetic properties are presented. Each manganese atom of cocrystallized complexes in compound 1.2 is heptacoordinated, displaying Mn-N-Mn angles, theta, of 102.53(12) and 101.70(12) degrees and Mn...Mn distances of 3.5091(7) and 3.4680(7) A. On the other hand, each manganese center in compounds 3 and 4 is located within an octahedral coordination environment, the complexes displaying theta angles of 104.29(11) and 103.60(18) degrees , respectively, and Mn...Mn vectors of 3.5371(7) and 3.5338(10) A, respectively. Magnetic susceptibility studies revealed the presence of intramolecular ferromagnetic superexchange, yielding an S = 5 spin ground state in all complexes. Fitting of the experimental data led to coupling constants, intermolecular exchange values, and g factors (in the J/zJ'/g format) of 0.77 cm(-1)/0.01 cm(-1)/2.20 (1.2), 2.04 cm(-1)/0.01 cm(-1)/1.99 (3), and 1.75 cm(-1)/-0.05 cm(-1)/2.04 (4), respectively (using H = -2JS1S2 as the convention for the Heisenberg spin-Hamiltonian). These results are consistent with predictions from recent DFT calculations performed on end-on bis(mu-N3-)-bridged Mn(II) dinuclear complexes. A plot of experimental J vs theta, including data from the only preexisting compound of this kind, reveals a linear relationship, which could be the first evidence of a possible magneto-structural correlation between these two parameters.  相似文献

The water-soluble cobalt(II) tetradentate Schiff base complex [Co(II)L](ClO4)(2), L: (N,N'-bis(5-[(triphenylphosphonium)-methyl]salicylidine)-o-phenylenediamineperchlorate has been synthesized and characterized. This complex forms charge transfer (CT) complexes with imidazole and 1-methylimidazole. The formation constant, molar absorptivity (epsilon'), and thermodynamic parameters for charge transfer complexes formation of cobalt(II) Schiff base complexes with imidazole derivatives were determined by using UV-vis spectrophotometric method in aqueous solutions at constant ionic strength (I=0.2mol dm(-3) KNO3) at pH 6.0 and various temperatures between 292 and 315K.  相似文献

Nickel(II) tetradentate Schiff-base complexes of N,N′-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)formylidene)ethane-1,2-diamine (L1), N,N′-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)formylidene)cyclohexane-1,2-diamine (L2), N,N′-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)formylidene)benzene-1,2-diamine (L3), N,N′-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)formylidene)meso-stilben-1,2-diamine (L4), and N,N′-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)formylidene)propane-1,3-diamine (L5) were synthesized, characterized, and immobilized on sodium montmorillonite. The complexes were characterized by IR spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS), and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). IR and DRS data of the heterogeneous catalysts show that the Ni(II) complexes were physically entrapped within the sodium montmorillonite clay. The supported complexes show good catalytic activity for the epoxidation of cyclooctene using tert-butylhydroperoxide (TBHP) as oxygen source in acetonitrile. The Ni-catalyzed oxidation proceeds with 62.3% selectivity for epoxidation with 69% conversion for supported [Ni(L5)].  相似文献

A series of iron(III) complexes of the tetradentate ligand BPMEN (N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine) were prepared and structurally characterized. Complex [Fe(2)(mu-O)(mu-OH)(BPMEN)(2)](ClO(4))(3) (1) contains a (mu-oxo)(mu-hydroxo)diiron(III) diamond core. Complex [Fe(BPMEN)(urea)(OEt)](ClO(4))(2) (2) is a rare example of a mononuclear non-heme iron(III) alkoxide complex. Complexes [Fe(2)(mu-O)(mu-OC(NH(2))NH)(BPMEN)(2)](ClO(4))(3) (3) and [Fe(2)(mu-O)(mu-OC(NHMe)NH)(BPMEN)(2)](ClO(4))(3) (4) feature N,O-bridging deprotonated urea ligands. The kinetics and equilibrium of the reactions of 1 with ligands L (L = water, urea, 1-methylurea, 1,1-dimethylurea, 1,3-dimethylurea, 1,1,3,3-tetramethylurea, and acetamide) in acetonitrile solutions were studied by stopped-flow UV-vis spectrophotometry, NMR, and mass spectrometry. All these ligands react with 1 in a rapid equilibrium, opening the four-membered Fe(III)(mu-O)(mu-OH)Fe(III) core and forming intermediates with a (HO)Fe(III)(mu-O)Fe(III)(L) core. The entropy and enthalpy for urea binding through oxygen are DeltaH degrees = -25 kJ mol(-1) and DeltaS degrees = -53.4 J mol(-1) K(-1) with an equilibrium constant of K(1) = 37 L mol(-1) at 25 degrees C. Addition of methyl groups on one of the urea nitrogen did not affect this reaction, but the addition of methyl groups on both nitrogens considerably decreased the value of K(1). An opening of the hydroxo bridge in the diamond core complex [Fe(2)(mu-O)(mu-OH)(BPMEN)(2)] is a rapid associative process, with activation enthalpy of about 60 kJ mol(-1) and activation entropies ranging from -25 to -43 J mol(-1) K(-1). For the incoming ligands with the -CONH(2) functionality (urea, 1-methylurea, 1,1-dimethylurea, and acetamide), a second, slow step occurs, leading to the formation of stable N,O-coordinated amidate diiron(III) species such as 3 and 4. The rate of this ring-closure reaction is controlled by the steric bulk of the incoming ligand and by the acidity of the amide group.  相似文献

Two Mn(II) complexes are isolated and X-ray characterized, namely, cis-[(L(2))Mn(II)(Cl)(2)] (1) and [(L(3))Mn(II)Cl(OH(2))](ClO(4)) (2(ClO(4))), where L(2) and L(3) are the well-known tetradentate N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine and N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)propane-1,3-diamine ligands, respectively. The crystal structure reveals that whereas the ligand L(2) is in the cis-alpha conformation in complex 1, the ligand L(3) is in the more unusual cis-beta conformation in 2. EPR spectra are recorded on frozen solutions for both complexes and are characteristic of Mn(II) species. Electrochemical behaviors are investigated on acetonitrile solution for both complexes and show that cation 2 exists as closely related Mn(II) species in equilibrium. For both complexes exhaustive bulk electrolyses of acetonitrile solution are performed at oxidative potential in various experimental conditions. In the presence of 2,6-lutidine and after elimination of chloride ligands, the formation of the di-mu-oxo mixed-valent complexes [(L(2))Mn(III)(mu-O)(2)Mn(IV)(L(2))](3+) (3a) and [(L(3))Mn(III)(mu-O)(2)Mn(IV)(L(3))](3+) (4) is confirmed by UV-vis and EPR spectroscopies and cyclic voltammetry. In addition crystals of 4(ClO(4))(3) were isolated, and the X-ray structure reveals the cis-alphaconformation of L(3). In the absence of 2,6-lutidine and without elimination of the exogenous chloride ions, the electrochemical oxidation of 1 leads to the formation of the mononuclear Mn(III) complex, namely, [(L(2))Mn(III)(Cl)(2)](+) (5), as confirmed by UV-vis as well as parallel mode EPR spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. In the same conditions, the electrochemical oxidation of complex 2 is more intricate, and a thorough analysis of EPR spectra establishes the formation of the binuclear mono-mu-oxo mixed-valent [(L(3))ClMn(III)(mu-O)Mn(IV)Cl(L(3))](3+) (6) complexes. Electrochemical conversion of Mn(II) complexes into mixed-valent Mn(2)(III,IV) oxo-bridged complexes in the presence of 2,6-lutidine is discussed. The role of the chloride ligands as well as that of L(3) in the building of oxo bridges is discussed. Differences in behavior between L(2) and L(3) are commented on.  相似文献

An N(4) tetradentate [1 + 1] Schiff base metal free macrocycle HL was prepared, by 1?:?1 condensation of 2,2'-iminobisbenzaldehyde (1) and diethylenetriamine, and characterised. Seven mononuclear complexes, [Zn(II)L(py)](BF(4)) (2), [Cu(II)L](BF(4))]·H(2)O (3), [Ni(II)L](BF(4))·H(2)O (4), [Co(II)L](BF(4))]·H(2)O (5), Fe(III)L(BF(4))(2)·2H(2)O·MeCN (6), [Co(III)L(NCS)(2)]·0.3py (7) and [Fe(III)L(NCS)(2)] (8), of L(-) are reported. The Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes were prepared by a template approach whereas the others were accessed by metallation of pre-formed HL. The X-ray crystal structure determinations show that [Cu(II)L](BF(4)) and [Ni(II)L](BF(4)) feature square planar N(4) coordinated Cu(II) and Ni(II) centres, respectively, whereas [Fe(III)L(NCS)(2)]·NO(2)Me features an octahedral N(6) coordinated Fe(III) centre (two NCS anions bound axially) and the Zn(II) complex, which crystallised as 2{[Zn(II)L(py)](BF(4))}·py, features square pyramidal Zn(II) ions (a pyridine molecule bound axially). In all cases the N(4) macrocycle is bound equatorially to the metal ion. Cyclic voltammograms of the soluble BF(4) complexes, 2-5, were carried out in MeCN vs. 0.01 mol L(-1) AgNO(3)/Ag and revealed multiple, mostly irreversible or quasi-reversible, redox processes. The Zn(II) complex 2 exhibited two irreversible oxidation processes and one irreversible reduction process, all of which are ligand-centered. The Ni(II) complex 4 showed a process with a weak return wave at E(m) = +0.57 V (ΔE = 0.05 V). Interestingly, after controlled potential coulometry experiments on 2, 3 and 4 (at +0.48, +0.61 and +0.71 V which transferred 1.2, 1.0 and 1.6 e(-) equiv. per complex, respectively), a new reversible or quasi-reversible process was obtained, with a lower potential than beforehand (E(m) (ΔE)/V = +0.16 (0.08), +0.31 (0.13) and +0.45 (0.11) respectively).  相似文献

The reactions of a racemic four-coordinated nickel(II) complex [Ni(alpha-rac-L)](ClO4)2 (containing equal amount of SS and RR enantiomers) with l- and d-phenylalanine in acetonitrile/water gave two less-soluble six-coordinated enantiomers of {[Ni( f-SS-L)(l-Phe)](ClO4)}n (Delta-1) and {[Ni(f- RR-L)(d-Phe)](ClO4)}n (Lambda-1), respectively. Evaporation the remaining solutions gave two six-coordinated diastereomers of {[Ni 3(f- RR-L)3(l-Phe)2(H 2O)](ClO4)4}n (a-2) and {[Ni3(f- SS-L)3(d-Phe)2(H2O)](ClO4)4}n (b-2), respectively (L = 5,5,7,12,12,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, Phe(-) = phenylalanine anion). The reaction of [Ni(alpha-rac-L)](ClO4)2 with dl-Phe(-) gave a conglomerate of c-1; in which, the SS and RR enantiomers preferentially coordinate to l- and d-Phe(-) respectively to give a racemic mixture of Delta-1 and Lambda-1, and the spontaneous resolution occurs during the reaction, in which each crystal crystallizes to become enantiopure. Removing Phe(-) from Delta-1 and Lambda-1 using perchloric acid gave two enantiomers of [Ni(alpha-SS-L)](ClO4)2 (S-3) and [Ni(alpha-RR-L)](ClO4)2 (R-3). Dissolving S-3 and R-3 in acetonitrile gave two six-coordinated enantiomers of [Ni( f-SS-L)(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2 (S-4) and [Ni( f- RR-L)(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2 (R-4), while dissolving [Ni(alpha-rac-L)](ClO4)2 in acetonitrile gave a racemic twining complex [Ni(f-rac-L)(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2 (rac-4). Delta-1 and Lambda-1 belong to supramolecular stereoisomers, which are constructed via hydrogen bond linking of [Ni( f-SS-L)(l-Phe)](+) and [Ni(f-RR-L)(d-Phe)](+) monomers to form 1D homochiral right-handed and left-handed helical chains, respectively. The reaction of S-3 with d-Phe(-) gave {[Ni(f-SS-L)(d-Phe)](ClO4)}n (5), which shows a motif of a 1D hydrogen bonded zigzag chain instead of a 1D helical chain. Compound a-2/ b-2 contains dimers of [{Ni(f-RR-L)}2(l-Phe)(H2O)](3+)/[{Ni( f- SS-L)}2(d-Phe)(H2O)](3+) and 1D zigzag chains of {[Ni(f-RR-L)(l-Phe)](+)}n /{[Ni(f-SS-L)(d-Phe)](+) n . The homochiral nature of Delta-1/Lambda-1, a-2/b-2, S-3/R-3, and S-4/R-4 are confirmed by the results of circular dichroism (CD) spectra measurements.  相似文献

The homo-bimetallic complexes of stoichiometry Fe2(L)ClO4(ClO4)2 where L are novel unsymmetrical [N10] (L1.2HClO4) and [N12] (L2.2HClO4) macrocyclic ligands, have been prepared. The ligands were obtained from an in situ capping reaction of the reactive substrate, N,N'-bis(N-ethylaniline)hydrazine-1,2-diimine with a mixture of aniline or 1,3-diaminopropane and HCHO in presence of HClO4. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, conductometric, IR, FAB-mass and electronic spectral studies. IR data of complexes suggest coordination from unsymmetrical aza sites as a tridentate (N,N,N) or tetradentate (N,N,N,N) ligand. mu(eff) values of the complexes suggest presence of antiferromagnetically coupled (Fe3+-Fe3+=S5/2-S5/2) spin exchange. M?ssbauer parameters of the complexes support (+/-3/2)-->(+/-1/2) nuclear transition in high-spin configurations of Fe(III) nuclei of the homo-bimetallic complexes with the presence of Kramer's double degeneracy.  相似文献

Ni(II) complexes of N,N'-di(pyrazin-2-yl)pyridine-2,6-diamine (H2dpzpda) with different anions were synthesized and their structures were determined by X-ray diffraction. Hydrogen bonds between the amino groups and anions assembled the mononuclear molecules into different architectures. The perchlorate complex had a 1-D chain structure, whereas switching the anion from perchlorate to nitrate resulted in a corresponding change of the supramolecular structure from 1-D to 3-D. When the nitrate complex packed with the co-crystallized water, a double chain structure was formed through hydrogen bonding. The magnetic studies revealed values of g = 2.14 and D = 3.11 cm(-1) for [Ni(H2dpzpda)2](ClO4)2 (1) and g = 2.18 and D = 2.19 cm(-1) for [Ni(H2dpzpda)2](NO3)2 (2), respectively.  相似文献

Two tricyanometallate precursors, (Bu4N)[(Tp4Bo)Fe(CN)3].H2O.2MeCN (1) and (Bu4N)[(pzTp)Fe(CN)3] (2) [Bu4N+ = tetrabutylammonium cation; Tp4Bo = tris(indazolyl)hydroborate; pzTp = tetrakis(pyrazolyl)borate], with a low-spin FeIII center have been synthesized and characterized. The reactions of 1 or 2 with [Cu(Me3tacn)(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (Me3tacn = N,N',N' '-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane) afford two pentanuclear cyano-bridged clusters, [(Tp4Bo)2(Me3tacn)3Cu3Fe2(CN)6](ClO4)4.5H2O (3) and [(pzTp)2(Me3tacn)3Cu3Fe2(CN)6](ClO4)4.4H2O (4), respectively. Assembly reactions between 2 and [Ni(phen)(CH3OH)4](ClO4)2 (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) or Zn(OAc)2.2H2O afford a molecular box [(pzTp)4(phen)4Ni4Fe4(CH3OH)4(CN)12](ClO4)4.4H2O (5) and a rectangular cluster [(pzTp)2Zn2Fe2(OAc)2(H2O)2(CN)6] (6). Their molecular structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In complexes 1 and 2, the central FeIII ions are coordinated by three cyanide carbon atoms and three nitrogen atoms of Tp4Bo- or pzTp-. Both complexes 3 and 4 show a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, in which [(L)Fe(CN)3]- units occupy the apical positions and are linked through cyanide to [Cu(Me3tacn)]2+ units situated in the equatorial plane. Complex 5 possesses a cubic arrangement of eight metal irons linked through edge-spanning cyanide bridges, while complex 6 shows Zn2Fe2(CN)4 rectangular structure, in which FeIII and ZnII ions are alternately bridged by the cyanide groups. Intramolecular ferromagnetic couplings are observed for complexes 3-5, and they have S = 5/2, 5/2, and 6 ground states and appreciable magnetic anisotropies with negative D values equal to -0.49, -2.39, and -0.39 cm-1, respectively.  相似文献

A series of putative mono- and binuclear copper(II) complexes, of general formulas [CuL](ClO(4)) and [Cu(2)L](ClO(4))(2), respectively, have been synthesized from lateral macrocyclic ligands that have different compartments, originated from their corresponding precursor compounds (PC-1, 3,4:9,10-dibenzo-1,12-[N,N'-bis[(3-formyl-2-hydroxy-5-methyl)benzyl]diaza]-5,8-dioxacyclotetradecane; and PC-2, 3,4:9,10-dibenzo-1,12-[N,N'-bis[(3-formyl-2-hydroxy-5-methyl)benzyl]diaza]-5,8-dioxacyclopentadecane). The precursor compound PC-1 crystallized in the triclinic system with space group P(-)1. The mononuclear copper(II) complex [CuL(1a)](ClO(4)) is crystallized in the monoclinic system with space group P2(1)/c. The binuclear copper(II) complex [Cu(2)L(2c)](ClO(4))(2) is crystallized in the triclinic system with space group P(-)1; the two Cu ions have two different geometries. Electrochemical studies evidenced that one quasi-reversible reduction wave (E(pc) = -0.78 to -0.87 V) for mononuclear complexes and two quasi-reversible one-electron-transfer reduction waves (E(1)(pc) = -0.83 to -0.92 V, E(2)(pc) = -1.07 to -1.38 V) for binuclear complexes are obtained in the cathodic region. Room-temperature magnetic-moment studies convey the presence of antiferromagnetic coupling in binuclear complexes [mu(eff) = (1.45-1.55)mu(B)], which is also suggested from the broad ESR spectra with g = 2.10-2.11, whereas mononuclear complexes show hyperfine splitting in ESR spectra and they have magnetic-moment values that are similar to the spin-only value [mu(eff) = (1.69-1.72)mu(B)]. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility study of the complex shows that the observed -2J value for the binuclear complex [Cu(2)L(1b)](ClO(4))(2) is 214 cm(-1). The observed initial rate-constant values of catechol oxidation, using complexes as catalysts, range from 4.89 x 10(-3) to 5.32 x 10(-2) min(-1) and the values are found to be higher for binuclear complexes than for the corresponding mononuclear complexes.  相似文献

Four tetrameric nickel(II) pseudohalide complexes have been synthesized and structurally, spectroscopically, and magnetically characterized. Compounds 1-3 are isostructural and exhibit the general formula [Ni(2)(dpk·OH)(dpk·CH(3)O)(L)(H(2)O)](2)A(2)·2H(2)O, where dpk = di-2-pyridylketone; L = N(3)(-), and A = ClO(4)(-) for 1, L = NCO(-) and A = ClO(4)(-) for 2, and L = NCO(-) and A = NO(3)(-) for 3. The formula for 4 is [Ni(4)(dpk·OH)(3) (dpk·CH(3)O)(2)(NCO)](BF(4))(2)·3H(2)O. The ligands dpk·OH(-) and dpk·CH(3)O(-) result from solvolysis and ulterior deprotonation of dpk in water and methanol, respectively. The four tetramers exhibit a dicubane-like core with two missing vertexes where the Ni(II) ions are connected through end-on pseudohalide and oxo bridges. Magnetic measurements showed that compounds 1-4 are ferromagnetic. The values of the exchange constants were determined by means of a theoretical model based on three different types of coupling. Thus, the calculated J values (J(1) = J(2), J(3), and D) were 5.6, 11.8, and 5.6 cm(-1) for 1, 5.5, 12.0, and 5.6 cm(-1) for 2, 6.3, 4.9, and 6.2 cm(-1) for 3, and (J(1), J(2), J(3), and D) 6.9, 7.0, 15.2, and 4.8 cm(-1) for 4.  相似文献

A new polydentate bridging ligand, NH(4)C(5)N=NC(6)H(4)N(H)C(5)H(4)N (HL(2)), is synthesized by the cobalt-mediated phenyl ring amination of coordinated NH(4)C(5)N=NC(6)H(5). The green cobalt complex intermediate [Co(L(2))(2)](ClO(4)), [1](ClO(4)), and the free ligand HL(2) were isolated and characterized. The X-ray structure of [H(2)L(2)](ClO(4)) is reported. The ligand, upon deprotonation, behaves as a bridging ligand. It reacts with NiCl(2).6H(2)O and Na(2)[PdCl(4)] to produce dimetallic complexes, [Ni(2)Cl(2)(L(2))(2)], 2, and [Pd(2)(L(2))(2)](ClO(4))(2), [3](ClO(4))(2), respectively. X-ray structures of these two dimetallic complexes are reported. The structure of the dinickel complex, in particular, is unique. In this complex, the two deprotonated secondary amine nitrogens of the two [L(2)](-) ligands bind to two nickel centers simultaneously forming a planar Ni(2)N(2) arrangement. The complex [3](ClO(4))(2) is diamagnetic while the complex 2 is paramagnetic. The results of magnetic measurements on the dinickel complex in the temperature range 1.8-300 K are reported. The system can be described as a single spin S = 2 in the low-temperature range T < J/k whereas at high temperatures, T > J/k, it behaves as two independent spins S = 1.The reaction of [L(2)](-) with K(2)[PtCl(4)], however, yielded a monometallic platinum complex, [PtCl(3)(L(2))], 5, where the pyridyl nitrogen of the aminopyridyl function remained unused. The X-ray structure of the complex 4a is reported. The bond lengths along the ligand backbones in all the complexes indicate extensive pi-delocalization. Spectral data of the complexes are reported and compared.  相似文献

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) and electrospray ionisation (ESI) mass spectra of aqueous solutions of manganese(II) complexes of the monoanions of the pentadentate ligands N-methyl-N'-carboxymethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (mcbpen(-)) and N-benzyl-N'-carboxymethyl-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (bcbpen(-)), show the presence of a mixture of closely related Mn(II) species, assigned to the mono, di-, tri- and poly-cationic complexes [Mn(II)(L)(H(2)O)](n)(n+), L = mcbpen(-) or bcbpen(-) with n = 1, 2, 3, etc. In solution, these complexes are reversibly oxidized by tert-butyl hydrogen peroxide (TBHP), (NH(4))(2)[Ce(NO(3))(6)], Ce(ClO(4))(4), oxone and [Ru(bipy)(3)](3+) to form metastable (t(?) = min to h) higher valent (hydr)oxide species, showing a collective maximum absorbance at 430 nm. The same species can be produced by [Ru(bipy)(3)](2+)-mediated photooxidization in the presence of an electron acceptor. TBHP oxidation of the complexes, in large excesses of the TBHP, is concurrent with an O(2) evolution with turnovers of up to 1.5 × 10(4) mol of O(2) per mol of [Mn] and calculated rate constants from two series of experiments of 0.039 and 0.026 mol[O(2)] s(-1) M(-2). A 1:1 reaction of TBHP with [Mn] is rate determining and the resultant species is proposed to be the mononuclear, catalytically competent, [Mn(IV)(O)(mcbpen)](+). At very close m/z values [Mn(III)(OH)(mcbpen)](+), [Mn(2)(III/IV)(O)(2)(mcbpen)(2)](+) and [Mn(IV)(2)(O)(2)(mcbpen)(2)](2+) are detected by ESI MS and CE when the concentration of TBHP is comparable to or lower than that of [Mn]. These are conditions that occur post catalysis and these species are derived from [Mn(IV)(O)(mcbpen)](+) through condensation reactions.  相似文献

The coordination chemistries of the potential tetradentate ligands N,N'-bis(3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)ethylenediamine, H4[L1], the unsaturated analogue glyoxal-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylanil), H2[L2], and N,N'-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)-2,2-dimethylpropylenediamine, H4[L3], have been investigated with nickel(II), palladium(II), and copper(II). The complexes prepared and characterized are [Ni(II)(H3L1)2] (1), [Ni(II)(HL2)2].5/8CH2Cl2 (2), [Ni(II)(L3**)] (3), [Pd(II)(L3**)][Pd(II)(H2L3) (4), and [Cu(II)(H2O)(L4)] (5), where (L4)2- is the oxidized diimine form of (L3)4- and (L3**)2- is the bis(o-iminosemiquinonate) diradical form of (L3)4-. The structures of compounds 1-5 have been determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography. In complexes 1 and 2, the ligands (H3L1)- and (HL2)- are tridentate and the nickel ions are in an octahedral ligand environment. The oxidation level of the ligands is that of an aromatic o-aminophenol. 1 and 2 are paramagnetic (mu(eff) approximately 3.2 mu(B) at 300 K), indicating an S = 1 ground state. The diamagnetic, square planar, four-coordinate complexes 3 and [Pd(II)(L3**)] in 4 each contain two antiferromagnetically coupled o-iminobenzosemiquinonate(1-) pi radicals. Diamagnetic [Pd(II)(H2L3)] in 4 forms an eclipsed dimer via four N-H.O hydrogen bonding contacts which yields a nonbonding Pd.Pd contact of 3.0846(4) A. Complex 5 contains a five-coordinate Cu(II) ion and two o-aminophenolate(1-) halves in (L4)2-. The electrochemistries of complexes 3 and 4a ([Pd(II)(L3**)] of 4) have been investigated, and the EPR spectra of the monocations and -anions are reported.  相似文献
