In this paper, we define robust weak ergodicity and study the relation between robust weak ergodicity and stable ergodicity for conservative partially hyperbolic systems. We prove that a Cr(r > 1) conservative partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism is stably ergodic if it is robustly weakly ergodic and has positive (or negative) central exponents on a positive measure set. Furthermore, if the condition of robust weak ergodicity is replaced by weak ergodicity, then the diffeomophism is an almost stably ergodic system. Additionally, we show in dimension three, a Cr(r > 1) conservative partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism can be approximated by stably ergodic systems if it is robustly weakly ergodic and robustly has non-zero central exponents.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate some results of ergodic theory with infinite measures for a subshift of finite type. We give an explicit way to construct σ-finite measures which are quasi-invariant by the stable holonomy and equivalent to the conditional measures of some σ-invariant measure. These σ-invariant measures are totally dissipative, σ-finite but satisfy a Birkhoff Ergodic-like Theorem. The constructions are done for the symbolic case, but can be extended for uniformly hyperbolic flows or diffeomorphisms.  相似文献

We consider the relationship between hyperbolic cone-manifold structures on surfaces, and algebraic representations of the fundamental group into a group of isometries. A hyperbolic cone-manifold structure on a surface, with all interior cone angles being integer multiples of 2??, determines a holonomy representation of the fundamental group. We ask, conversely, when a representation of the fundamental group is the holonomy of a hyperbolic cone-manifold structure. In this paper we build upon previous work with punctured tori to prove results for higher genus surfaces. Our techniques construct fundamental domains for hyperbolic cone-manifold structures, from the geometry of a representation. Central to these techniques are the Euler class of a representation, the group ${\widetilde{PSL_{2}\mathbb{R}}}$ , the twist of hyperbolic isometries, and character varieties. We consider the action of the outer automorphism and related groups on the character variety, which is measure-preserving with respect to a natural measure derived from its symplectic structure, and ergodic in certain regions. Under various hypotheses, we almost surely or surely obtain a hyperbolic cone-manifold structure with prescribed holonomy.  相似文献

We consider the set of volume preserving partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms on a compact manifold having 1-dimensional center bundle. We show that the volume measure is ergodic, and even Bernoulli, for any C 2 diffeomorphism in an open and dense subset of This solves a conjecture of Pugh and Shub, in this setting.  相似文献

We prove that any diffeomorphism of a compact manifold can be C1-approximated by a diffeomorphism which exhibits a homoclinic bifurcation (a homoclinic tangency or a heterodimensional cycle) or by a diffeomorphism which is partially hyperbolic (its chain-recurrent set splits into partially hyperbolic pieces whose centre bundles have dimensions less or equal to two). We also study in a more systematic way the central models introduced in Crovisier (in press) [10].  相似文献

We prove, in a purely geometric way, that there are no connected irreducible proper subgroups of SO(N,1). Moreover, a weakly irreducible subgroup of SO(N,1) must either act transitively irreducible subgroup of SO(N,1) must either act transitively on the hyperbolic space or on a horosphere. This has obvious consequences for Lorentzian holonomy and in particular explains clasification results of Marcel Berger's list (e.g. the fact that an irreducible Lorentzian locally symmetric space has constant curvatures). We also prove that a minimal homogeneous submanifold of hyperbolic space must be totally-geodesic. We prove a dichotomy of C2 partially hyperbolic sets with one-dimensional center direction admitting no zero Lyapunov exponents, either hyperbolicity over the supports of ergodic measures or approximation by a heterodimensional cycle. This provides a partial result to the C1 Palis Conjecture that claims a dichotomy, hyperbolicity or homoclinic bifurcations in a dense subset of the space of C1 diffeomorphisms. Moreover, a theorem of Ma?é applied in the proof is modified to have an additional property concerning the Hausdorff distance between a periodic orbit and the support of a hyperbolic ergodic measure.  相似文献

We study the ergodic theory of non-conservative C 1-generic diffeomorphisms. First, we show that homoclinic classes of arbitrary diffeomorphisms exhibit ergodic measures whose supports coincide with the homoclinic class. Second, we show that generic (for the weak topology) ergodic measures of C 1-generic diffeomorphisms are non-uniformly hyperbolic: they exhibit no zero Lyapunov exponents. Third, we extend a theorem by Sigmund on hyperbolic basic sets: every isolated transitive set Λ of any C 1-generic diffeomorphism f exhibits many ergodic hyperbolic measures whose supports coincide with the whole set Λ.  相似文献

We construct Sinai-Ruelle-Bowen (SRB) measures supported on partially hyperbolic sets of diffeomorphisms – the tangent bundle splits into two invariant subbundles, one of which is uniformly contracting – under the assumption that the complementary subbundle is non-uniformly expanding. If the rate of expansion (Lyapunov exponents) is bounded away from zero, then there are only finitely many SRB measures. Our techniques extend to other situations, including certain maps with singularities or critical points, as well as diffeomorphisms having only a dominated splitting (and no uniformly hyperbolic subbundle). We consider the relationship between hyperbolic cone-manifold structures on surfaces, and algebraic representations of the fundamental group into a group of isometries. A hyperbolic cone-manifold structure on a surface, with all interior cone angles being integer multiples of 2π, determines a holonomy representation of the fundamental group. We ask, conversely, when a representation of the fundamental group is the holonomy of a hyperbolic cone-manifold structure. In this paper we prove results for the punctured torus; in the sequel, for higher genus surfaces. We show that a representation of the fundamental group of a punctured torus is a holonomy representation of a hyperbolic cone-manifold structure with no interior cone points and a single corner point if and only if it is not virtually abelian. We construct a pentagonal fundamental domain for hyperbolic structures, from the geometry of a representation. Our techniques involve the universal covering group [(PSL2\mathbb R)\tilde]{\widetilde{{\it PSL}_2{\mathbb R}}} of the group of orientation-preserving isometries of \mathbb H2{{\mathbb H}^2} and Markoff moves arising from the action of the mapping class group on the character variety.  相似文献

We consider the set of partially hyperbolic symplectic diffeomorphisms which are accessible, have 2-dimensional center bundle and satisfy some pinching and bunching conditions. In this set, we prove that the non-uniformly hyperbolic maps are Cr open and there exists a Cr open and dense subset of continuity points for the center Lyapunov exponents. We also generalize these results to volume-preserving systems.  相似文献

We review some ergodic and topological aspects of robustly transitive partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms with one-dimensional center direction. We also discuss step skew-product maps whose fiber maps are defined on the circle which model such dynamics. These dynamics are genuinely nonhyperbolic and exhibit simultaneously ergodic measures with positive, negative, and zero exponents as well as intermingled horseshoes having different types of hyperbolicity. We discuss some recent advances concerning the topology of the space of invariant measures and properties of the spectrum of Lyapunov exponents.  相似文献

In this note we show that all partially hyperbolic automorphisms on a 3-dimensional non-Abelian nilmanifold can be C1C1-approximated by structurally stable CC-diffeomorphisms, whose chain recurrent set consists of one attractor and one repeller. In particular, all these partially hyperbolic automorphisms are not robustly transitive. As a corollary, the holonomy maps of the stable and unstable foliations of the approximating diffeomorphisms are twisted quasiperiodically forced circle homeomorphisms, which are transitive but non-minimal and satisfy certain fiberwise regularity properties.  相似文献

Let R be a discrete nonsingular equivalence relation on a standard probability space , and let V be an ergodic strongly asymptotically central automorphism of R. We prove that every V-invariant cocycle with values in a Polish group G takes values in an abelian subgroup of G. The hypotheses of this result are satisfied, for example, if A is a finite set, a closed, shift-invariant subset, V is the shift, μ a shift-invariant and ergodic probability measure on X, the two-sided tail-equivalence relation on X, a shift-invariant subrelation which is μ-nonsingular, and a shift-invariant cocycle. We consider partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms preserving a splitting of the tangent bundle into a strong-unstable subbundleE uu (uniformly expanding) and a subbundleE c, dominated byE uu. We prove that if the central directionE c is mostly contracting for the diffeomorphism (negative Lyapunov exponents), then the ergodic Gibbsu-states are the Sinai-Ruelle-Bowen measures, there are finitely many of them, and their basins cover a full measure subset. If the strong-unstable leaves are dense, there is a unique Sinai-Ruelle-Bowen measure. We describe some applications of these results, and we also introduce a construction of robustly transitive diffeomorphisms in dimension larger than three, having no uniformly hyperbolic (neither contracting nor expanding) invariant subbundles. We define the scenery flow space at a point z in the Julia setJ of a hyperbolic rational map T : C C with degree at least2, and more generally for T a conformal mixing repellor. We prove that, for hyperbolic rational maps, except for a fewexceptional cases listed below, the scenery flow is ergodic. We also prove ergodicity for almost all conformal mixing repellors;here the statement is that the scenery flow is ergodic for therepellors which are not linear nor contained in a finite unionof real-analytic curves, and furthermore that for the collectionof such maps based on a fixed open set U, the ergodic casesform a dense open subset of that collection. Scenery flow ergodicityimplies that one generates the same scenery flow by zoomingdown towards almost every z with respect to the Hausdorff measureHd, where d is the dimension of J, and that the flow has a uniquemeasure of maximal entropy. For all conformal mixing repellors, the flow is loosely Bernoulliand has topological entropy at most d. Moreover the flow atalmost every point is the same up to a rotation, and so as acorollary, one has an analogue of the Lebesgue density theoremfor the fractal set, giving a different proof of a theorem ofFalconer. 2000 Mathematical Subject Classification: 37F15, 37F35, 37D20.  相似文献

We prove that C2\mathcal{C}^{2} surface diffeomorphisms have symbolic extensions, i.e. topological extensions which are subshifts over a finite alphabet. Following the strategy of Downarowicz and Maass (Invent. Math. 176:617–636, 2009) we bound the local entropy of ergodic measures in terms of Lyapunov exponents. This is done by reparametrizing Bowen balls by contracting maps in a approach combining hyperbolic theory and Yomdin’s theory.  相似文献

We study certain ergodic properties of equilibrium measures of hyperbolic non-invertible maps f on basic sets with overlaps Λ. We prove that if the equilibrium measure of a Holder potential , is 1-sided Bernoulli, then f is expanding from the point of view of a pointwise section dimension of . If the measure of maximal entropy μ 0 is 1-sided Bernoulli, then f is shown to be distance expanding on Λ; and if is 1-sided Bernoulli for f expanding, then must be the measure of maximal entropy. These properties are very different from the case of hyperbolic diffeomorphisms. Another result is about the non 1-sided Bernoullicity for certain equilibrium measures for hyperbolic toral endomorphisms. We also prove the non-existence of generating Rokhlin partitions for measure-preserving endomorphisms in several cases, among which the case of hyperbolic non-expanding toral endomorphisms with Haar measure. Nevertheless the system is shown to have always exponential decay of correlations on Holder observables and to be mixing of any order.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Dirichlet problem at infinity of proper harmonic maps from noncompact complex hyperbolic space to a rank one symmetric space N of noncompact type with singular boundary data . Under some conditions on f, we show that the Dirichlet problem at infinity admits a harmonic map which assumes the boundary data f continuously. We consider the class of elliptic functions whose critical points in the Julia set are eventually mapped onto ∞. This paper is a continuation of our previous papers, namely [11] and [12]. We study the geometry and ergodic properties of this class of elliptic functions. In particular, we obtain a lower bound on the Hausdorff dimension of the Julia set that is bigger than the estimate proved in [11]. Let h be the Hausdorff dimension of the Julia set of f. We construct an atomless h-conformal measure m and prove the existence of a (unique up to a multiplicative constant) σ-finite f-invariant measure μ equivalent to m. The measure μ is ergodic and conservative.  相似文献
