Novel poly(silylenemethylene)s have been prepared by the ring‐opening polymerization of 1,3‐disilacyclobutanes followed by a protodesilylation reaction with triflic acid. The silicon–aryl bond cleavage could be controlled by using different leaving groups, for instance phenyl‐ and para‐anisyl substituents. The reactions of the triflate derivatives with organomagnesium compounds, LiAlH4, amines or alcohols gave functional substituted poly(silylenemethylene)s. Hydrosilylation reactions or reductive coupling with potassium–graphite led to organosilicon network‐polymers, which may serve as suitable precursors for silicon carbide and Si/C/N‐based materials. The structures of the polymers were identified by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (29Si, 13C, 1H). Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

[Perfluoro-organic]/[silicon oxide] hybrids were formed by conducting sol-gel reactions of tetraethylorthosilicate within a perfluoro(carboxylate/sulfonate) bilayer membrane in the Co+2 form. FTIR and 29Si solid-state NMR spectroscopies were used to probe general aspects of molecular structure within the silicon oxide phase as a function of its relative content. The internal gel structure is considerably unconnected in terms of the population of Si O Si groups in cyclic vs. linear substructures and degree of Si atom coordination about bonded SiO4 units. In situ (HO)xSiO2[1-1/4x] intrastructure become increasingly less connected and more strained with regard to bonding geometry with increasing percent silicon oxide. Structural differences are seen between the silicon oxide component incorporated in carboxylate and sulfonate layers. These inorganically modified perfluorinated ionomers have potential as fast-proton conducting membranes for fuel cells and as permselective membranes in liquid pervaporation cells. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Air‐stable hybrid catalysts of silicon dioxide/double metal cyanide complexes (Si‐DMCCs) based on Zn3[Co(CN)6]2 (ZHCC) were prepared by an in situ sol–gel method. The Si‐DMCCs showed low crystallinity and a nanolamellar structure with a thickness of ~40–60 nm. In particular, a lamellar structure of regular hexagonal shape was observed for Si‐DMCCs with low SiO2 content. These catalysts had very high catalytic activity for alternating copolymerization of cyclohexene oxide (CHO) and carbon dioxide. A turnover number of 11,444, turnover frequency of 3815 h?1, and apparent efficiency of 7.5 kg polymer/g ZHCC (~24.0 kg polymer/g Zn) were achieved at 3.8 MPa and 100 °C. The poly(cyclohexenylene carbonate) (PCHC) polymers obtained were completely atactic with a molecular weight (Mn) of ~10 kg/mol and polydispersity of 2.0–3.0. The PCHCs had a structure of nearly alternating CHO and CO2 units, with a molar fraction of carbonate units of 0.44–0.47. Preliminary investigations of the mechanism suggest that nucleophilic attack by neighboring oxygen atoms is involved in copolymerization initiation with Zn? CoIII DMCCs. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 46: 3128–3139, 2008  相似文献

Poly(methylphenylsiloxane)–poly(methyl methacrylate) graft copolymers (PSXE-g-PMMA) were prepared by condensation reaction of poly(methylphenylsiloxane)-containing epoxy resin (PSXE) with carboxyl-terminated poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), and they were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), infrared (IR), and 29Si and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The microstructure of the PSXE-g-PMMA graft copolymer was investigated by proton spin–spin relaxation T2 measurements. The thermal stability and apparent activation energy for thermal degradation of these copolymers were studied by thermogravimetry and compared with unmodified PMMA. The incorporation of poly(methylphenylsiloxane) segments in graft copolymers improved thermal stability of PMMA and enhanced the activation energy for thermal degradation of PMMA. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Substituent‐induced electroluminescence polymers—poly[2‐(2‐dimethyldodecylsilylphenyl)‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene] [(o‐R3Si)PhPPV], poly[2‐(3‐dimethyldodecylsilylphenyl)‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene] [(m‐R3Si)PhPPV], and poly[2‐(4‐dimethyldodecylsilylphenyl)‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene] [(p‐R3Si)PhPPV]—were synthesized according to the Gilch polymerization method. The band gap and spectroscopic data were tuned by the dimethyldodecylsilyl substituent being changed from the ortho position to the para position in the phenyl side group along the polymer backbone. The weight‐average molecular weights and polydispersities were 8.0–96 × 104 and 3.0–3.4, respectively. The maximum photoluminescence wavelengths for (o‐R3Si)PhPPV, (m‐R3Si)PhPPV, and (p‐R3Si)PhPPV appeared around 500–530 nm in the green emission region. Double‐layer light‐emitting diodes with an indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene)/polymer/Al configuration were fabricated with these polymers. The turn‐on voltages and the maximum brightness of (o‐R3Si)PhPPV, (m‐R3Si)PhPPV, and (p‐R3Si)PhPPV were 6.5–8.7 V and 1986–5895 cd/m2, respectively. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new controllable approach to synthesize hyperbranched poly(siloxysilanes) via hydrosilylation of A2‐ and B′Bx‐type monomers was developed in this work. A2 monomers (dimethylbis(dimethylsiloxy)siloxane and tetramethyldisiloxane), B′Bx monomers (methylvinyldiallylsilane and vinyltriallylsilane), and the resultant hyperbranched poly(siloxysilanes) were well characterized using FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 29Si NMR, and SEC/MALLS. The In situ FTIR results indicate that the controllable polymerization can be carried out quickly and the reaction process was obviously performed in two stages. At the first stage, silicon hydride selectively reacts with vinyl silane groups, which produces intermediate structures with one Si? H and two (or three) allyl groups. Consequently, at the second stage, these intermediates act as new AB2 (or AB3) type monomers and continue to be self‐polymerized to generate hyperbranched polymers. By this novel controllable approach, molecular weights and their polydispersity of the resulted hyperbranched poly(siloxysilanes) can be conveniently regulated via adjusting the process parameters, such as feeding ratio of two monomers. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(benzobisoxazoles) (PBOs), poly(benzobisthiazoles) (PBTs) and copolymers thereof containing the 2,5-dihydroxybicyclo[2.2.2]octane moiety have been prepared and studied. The homopolymers were synthesized by the polycondensation of 2,5-dihydroxybicyclo[2.2.2]octane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid with 4,6-diamino-1,3-benzenediol dihydrochloride or 2,5-diamino-1,4-benzenedithiol dihydrochloride in poly(phosphoric acid). Random and block copolymers (PBO–PBT) were also prepared. The polymers were characterized by solubility, X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy (infrared and solid-state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance), and thermal analysis such as differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. Thermogravimetric analysis showed thermal stability of the polymers above 375°C in air and under argon atmosphere. The polymers exhibited high resistance to organic and inorganic solvents. The polymers were converted to the more stable aromatic polymers via dehydration and retro Diels–Alder reactions of the 2,5-dihydroxybicyclo[2.2.2]octyl moiety by pyrolysis. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Bis(4-oxybenzoic acid) tetrakis(phenoxy) cyclotriphosphazene (IUPAC name: 4-[4-(carboxyphenoxy)-2,4,6,6-tetraphenoxy-1,3,5,2λ5,4λ5,6λ5-triazatriphosphinin-2-yl]oxy-benzoic acid) was synthesized and direct polycondensed with diphenylether or 1,4-diphenoxybenzene in Eaton's reagent at the temperature range of 80–120°C for 3 hours to give aromatic poly(ether ketone)s. Polycondensations at 120°C gave polymer of high molecular weight. Incorporation of cyclotriphosphazene groups in the aromatic poly(ether ketone) backbone greatly enhanced the solubility of these polymers in common organic polar solvents. Thermal stabilities by TGA for two polymer samples of polymer series ranged from 390 to 354°C in nitrogen at 10% weight loss and glass transition temperatures (Tg) ranged from 81.4 to 89.6°C by DSC. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A series of crosslinked siloxane/poly(ethylene glycol) (Si–PEG) copolymers were synthesized from the reactive methoxy‐functional silicone resin (Si resin) and PEGs with different molecular weights via two kinds of crosslinking reactions during an in situ curing stage. One of the crosslinking reactions is the self‐condensation between two methoxy groups in the Si resin, and another one is an alkoxy‐exchange reaction between the methoxy group in the Si resin and the OH group in PEG. The synthesized crosslinked copolymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, DSC, and 13C NMR. The crosslinked copolymers were stable in a moisture‐free environment, but the Si? O? C linkages were hydrolyzed in humid conditions. The gel‐like solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) were prepared by impregnating these crosslinked Si–PEG copolymers in a propylene carbonate (LiClO4/PC) solution. The highest conductivity reached 2.4 × 10?4 S cm?1 at 25 °C and increased to 8.7 × 10?4 S cm?1 at 85 °C. The conductivities of these gel‐type SPEs were affected by the content of LiClO4/PC, the molecular weights of PEGs, and the weight fraction of the Si resin. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Geminal silyl ester linkages were used for the backbone construction of linear polymers, which exhibit rapid cleavage in the presence of atmospheric water. A series of poly(gem-silyl ester)s with two ester groups flanking each silicon atom were synthesized, in order to probe the effects of different silyl-substituted side-chain groups upon the physical and chemical properties. The transsilylation condensation reaction of bis(trimethylsilyl) terephthalate with dichlorodiisopropylsilane, dichlorodicyclohexylsilane, dichloromethyl-n-octadecylsilane, and dichloromethyl-4-methylphenethylsilane gave the four poly(gem-silyl ester)s with two isopropyl, two cyclohexyl, one methyl plus one octadecyl, and one methyl plus one 4-methyl-phenethyl side-chain groups per silicon, respectively. The polymers were characterized by NMR (1H, 13C, and 29Si), infrared spectroscopy (IR), size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Hydrolytic degradation studies of the polymers solvated in tetrahydrofuran and as bulk samples in the solid state were performed in the presence of atmospheric water as the nucleophilic cleavage agent, and the molecular weight loss was monitored by SEC. Poly(diisopropylsilyl terephthalate) (1a) and poly(dicyclohexylsilyl terephthalate) (1b) were found to be more stable towards nucleophilic degradation in comparison to poly(methyl-n-octadecylsilyl terephthalate) (1c) and poly(methyl-4-methylphenethylsilyl terephthalate) (1d), due to the presence of sterically bulky isopropyl or cyclohexyl groups attached to the silicon atoms. All of the polymers degraded into small molecules upon hydrolysis, with the exception that the degradation products of 1c and 1d self-condensed in the solid state to form the respective polysiloxanes. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Two flexible dicarboxylic acid monomers, 4,4′-[isopropylidenebis(1,4-phenylene)dioxy]dibenzoic acid ( 1 ) and 4,4′-[hexafluoroisopropylidenebis(1,4-phenylene)-dioxy]dibenzoic acid ( 3 ), were synthesized from readily available compounds in two steps in high yields. High molecular-weight polyhydrazides and poly(amide-hydra-zide)s were directly prepared from dicarboxylic acids 1 and 3 with terephthalic dihydrazide ( 5 ), isophthalic dihydrazide ( 6 ), and p-aminobenzhydrazide ( 7 ) by the phosphorylation reaction by means of diphenyl phosphite (DPP) and pyridine in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP)/LiCl, or prepared from the diacyl chlorides of 1 and 3 with the hydrazide monomers 5–7 by the low-temperature solution polycondensation in NMP/LiCl. Less favorable results were obtained when using triphenyl phosphite (TPP) instead of DPP in the direct polycondensation reactions. Except for those derived from terephthalic dihydrazide, the resulting polyhydrazides and poly(amide-hydrazide)s could be cast into colorless, flexible, and tough films with good tensile strengths. All the hydrazide polymers and copolymers are amorphous in nature and are readily soluble in various polar solvents such as NMP and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Their Tgs were recorded in the range of 162–198°C and could be thermally cyclodehydrated into the corresponding polyoxadiazoles and poly(amide-oxadiazole)s approximately in the region of 300–380°C, as evidenced by the DSC thermograms. The oxadiazole polymers and copolymers showed a dramatically decreased solubility and higher Tg when compared to their respective hydrazide prepolymers. They exhibited Tgs of 190–216°C and were stable up to 450°C in air or nitrogen. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 36: 1847–1854, 1998  相似文献

N-Carbazolylacetylene (CzA) was polymerized in the presence of various transition metal catalysts including WCl6, MoCl5, [Rh(NBD)Cl]2, and Fe(acac)3 to give polymers in good yields. The polymers produced with W catalysts were dark purple solids and soluble in organic solvents such as toluene, chloroform, etc. The highest weight-average molecular weight of poly(CzA) reached about 4 × 104. In the UV–visible spectrum in CHCl3, poly(CzA) exhibited an absorption maximum around 550 nm (εmax = 4.0 × 103 M−1 cm−1) and the cutoff wavelength was 740 nm, showing a large red shift compared with that of poly(phenylacetylene) [poly(PA)]. Poly(CzA) began to lose weight in TGA under air at 310°C, being thermally more stable than poly(PA) and poly[3-(N-carbazolyl)-1-propyne]. Poly(CzA) showed a third-order susceptibility of 18 × 10−12 esu, which was 2 orders larger than that of poly(PA). © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J. Polym. Sci. A Polym. Alkali and earth‐alkali salts of dicyclopentadiene dicarboxylic acid (DCPDCA) were prepared and employed as monomers in the polyesterification with an α,ω‐dihalide monomer, such as 1,4‐dichlorobutane (DCB), 1,4‐dibromobutane (DBB), α,α′‐dichloro‐p‐xylene (DCX), and α,α′‐dibromo‐p‐xylene (DBX). Novel linear polymers that possessed repeating moieties of dicyclopentadiene ( DCPD ) in the backbone were thus prepared. The IR and NMR spectra indicated that poly(tetramethylene dicyclopentadiene dicarboxylate) (PTMDD) with a number‐average molecular weight (Mn ) of about 1× 104 and poly(p‐xylene dicyclopentadiene dicarboxylate) (PXDD) with a Mn of 4–6 × 103 were obtained with an yield of about 80% via the polyesterification of the alkali salts with DBB and DCX, respectively. The reaction was carried out in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, such as BzMe3NBr or poly(ethylene glycol), in DMF at 100 °C for 4 h. Oligomers with a lower Mn (1–2 × 103) were obtained when the earth‐alkali salts were employed as salt monomers. Compared to the irreversible linear polymers, poly(p‐xylene terephthalate) (PXTP) and poly(p‐xylene maleate) (PXM), prepared through the reaction between DCX and the potassium salts of terephthalic and maleic acid, respectively, the specific viscosities (ηsp) of the new linear polymers increased abnormally with the decrease of the temperature from 200 °C to 100 °C. This occurred due to the thermally reversible dedimerization/redimerization of  DCPD moieties of the backbone of the polymers via the catalyst‐free Diels–Alder/retro Diels–Alder cycloadditive reactions. The ratio of the ηsp at 100 °C and 200 °C of the reversible polymers was found to be much higher than that of PXTP and PXM, even when the heating/cooling cycle was carried out several times under a N2 atmosphere. The obtained results indicated that thermally reversible covalently bonded linear polymer can be obtained by introducing the  DCPD structure into the backbone of the polymer through the polymerization of a monomer containing the  DCPD moiety. The reversible natures of the polymers and oligomers might be useful in preparing easily processable and recyclable polymers and thermosensor materials. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The synthesis of novel polyisobutylene (PIB)/poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) bicomponent networks is described. The synthesis strategy (see Figure 1) was to prepare well-defined and -characterized allyl-tritelechelic polyisobutylenes [ϕ(PIB—C—C=C)3] and SiH-ditelechelic poly(dimethylsiloxanes) (HSi–PDMS–SiH) and then crosslink these moieties by hydrosilation. The ϕ(PIB—C—C=C)3 was prepared by living isobutylene polymerization followed by end-quenching with allyltrimethylsilane, whereas the HSi–PDMS–SiH was obtained by equilibrium polymerization of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and tetramethyldisiloxane. The detailed structures of the starting polymers were characterized by GPC and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. A series of PIB/PDMS bicomponent networks of varying compositions and average molecular weights between crosslinks (M c) of ∼ 20,000 g/mol were assembled. Optimum crosslinking conditions were defined in terms of H2PtCl6 catalyst concentration, nature of solvent, time, temperature, and stoichiometry of ∼ CH2CH=CH2/∼SiH groups, allowing for the convenient synthesis of well-defined model bicomponent networks. Swelling studies and elemental analysis confirm the correctness of the synthetic strategy. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 36: 1891–1899, 1998  相似文献

Dehydrocoupling reactions between linear poly(methylhydrosiloxane) {Me3SiO–[MeSi(H)O]n–SiMe3} and alcohols such as cholesterol, anthracene‐9‐carbinol, (12‐crown‐4)‐2‐carbinol, pyrene‐1‐carbinol, 4‐methyl‐5‐thiazoleethanol, and 4‐pyridilpropanol were introduced under catalytically mild conditions. The degrees of conversion of Si? H bonds in polysiloxane were monitored with 1H NMR spectra. The metathesis polymerization of 1- and 2-ethynylanthracenes (1-EA and 2-EA) and 2- and 3-ethynylphenanthrenes (2-EP and 3-EP) in the presence of various WCl6-based catalysts produced widely conjugated soluble polymers with relatively high molecular weights. The highest weight-average molecular weights of poly(1-EA) and poly(2-EA) reached 61,000 and 26,000, respectively, when Ph4Sn was used as cocatalyst, while those of poly(2-EP) and poly(3-EP) reached 23,000 and 65,000, respectively, with Ph3Bi as cocatalyst. In contrast, MoCl5-based catalysts were hardly or not effective for these monomers. A large red-shifted peak was observed centering at 570 nm (the cutoff at 750 nm) in the absorption spectrum of poly(1-EA), while the red-shifted peaks were seen around 500 nm (the cutoffs near 700 nm) in the spectra of other polymers, indicating wide conjugations of the polymer chains. The configurational structures of all the polymers confirmed by DSC and 1H-NMR were trans structures. However, poly(1-EA) and poly(3-EP) appeared to consist partly of cis structures in their main chains. All of the present polymers showed relatively high thermal stability in air compared with poly(phenylacetylene). © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 36: 3131–3137, 1998  相似文献

The relationship between the microstructure and the properties of poly(1,3-cyclohexadiene)s, obtained by living anionic polymerization with an alkyllithium/amine system, and their hydrogenated derivatives are reported. The 1,2-bond/1,4-bond molar ratio of poly(1,3-cyclohexadiene) was determined by measuring 2D-NMR with the H H COSY method. The glass transition temperature of poly(1,3-cyclohexadiene) was found to rise with an increase in the ratio of 1,2-bonds to 1,4-bonds or with an increase of the number average molecular weight. The 1,2-bond of the polymer chain gives a high flexural strength and heat distortion temperature. Hydrogenated poly(1,3-cyclohexadiene) has the highest Tg (231°C) among all hydrocarbon polymers ever reported. 1,3-Cyclohexadiene–butadiene–1,3-cyclohexadiene triblock copolymer and 1,3-cyclohexadiene–styrene–1,3-cyclohexadiene triblock copolymer have high heat resistance and high mechanical strength. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A series of novel conjugated polymers, poly(silylacetylene silazane)s having different substituents, were prepared by ammonolysis of the corresponding α,ω‐dichlorosilyleneacetylene oligomers. The structures and properties of the poly(silylacetylene silazane)s were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, 1H, 13C, 29Si NMR, and elemental analyses, gel permeation chromatography, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and spectrofluorophotometry. The resulting polymers had good thermal properties and were moderately fluorescent. Their thermal stability was improved, and obvious red shift was observed when a phenyl substituent was attached on a silicon atom of polymers in the emission spectra. These polymers have the potential to be used as light‐emitting materials with good thermal stability. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 42: 2897–2903, 2004  相似文献

Phenylacetylenes (PAs) with bulky substituents (adamantyl, tert-butyl, and n-butyl groups) at the para-position polymerized in good yields with Fe, Rh, Mo, and W catalysts. The formed polymers were soluble, and their number-average molecular weights were in the range of thousands to hundred thousands. Whereas it is known that the poly(PA) obtained with the Fe catalyst is an insoluble cis-cisoidal polymer, the present polymers formed with the same catalyst were totally soluble in many solvents such as benzene and CHCl3. The 1H- and 13C-NMR and DSC data revealed that both of the polymers formed with the Fe and Rh catalysts had virtually all-cis structures, while those with the Mo and W catalysts had cis-rich and trans-rich structures, respectively. Cis-cisoidal and cis-transoidal structures of para-substituted poly(PAs) could not be distinguished because of their good solubility. The bulky substituents raised the temperature of cis–trans isomerization and improved the thermal stability of the polymers. Poly(p-t-BuPA) showed gas permeability higher than that of poly(PA). © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 36: 3157–3163, 1998  相似文献

A series of new and high-purity hydrocarbon liquid crystal monomers were synthesized through the acylation reaction, deoxygenation reaction, and Grignard reaction. 1H-NMR spectra and elemental analyses were used to examine their purity. The liquid crystalline polysiloxane polymers were obtained by grafting the monomers onto poly(methylhydrosiloxane). The thermal transition temperature, mesomorphic properties, and mesophase textures of the monomers and the polymers were determined by differential scanning calorimetry (dsc), polarized optical microscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. Moreover, we observed the even–odd effect of the smectic/isotropic transition temperature with the length variation of the substituents. In this study, we found by X-ray diffraction that the liquid crystalline polysiloxane polymers undergo a transition from smectic B to smectic E mesophase. However, dsc has difficulty detecting the phase transition process. By considering the spin–lattice relaxation time (T1), we can systematically explain the relation between the flexibility of the substituent with the smectic/isotropic transition temperature. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
