This study outlines the use of mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy combined with principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) for the varietal classification of commercial red and white table wines. Three red varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot) and four white varieties (Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier) were sourced from different wine regions in Australia. Wine samples were scanned in transmission on a FOSS WineScan FT 120 from wave numbers 926 to 5012 cm−1. All samples were sourced from the 2006 vintage and had not been blended with any other variety or wine from other regions. Spectral data were reduced to a small number of principal components (PCs) and LDA was then performed to successfully separate the wines into the different varieties. To test the robustness of the LDA models developed for the red wines, a set of red wines scanned in 2005 were used. Correct classification of over 95% was achieved for the validation set.  相似文献

A combination of mass spectrometry-based electronic nose (MS e_nose) and chemometrics was explored to classify two Australian white wines according to their varietal origin namely Riesling and unwooded Chardonnay. The MS e_nose data were analysed using principal components analysis (PCA), discriminant partial least squares (DPLS) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) applied to principal components scores and validated using full cross validation (leave one out). DPLS gave the highest levels of correct classification for both varieties (>90%). LDA classified correctly 73% of unwooded Chardonnay and 82% of Riesling wines. Even though the conventional analysis provides fundamental information about the volatile compounds present in the wine, the MS e_nose method has a series of advantages over conventional analytical techniques due to simplicity of the sample-preparation and reduced time of analysis and might be considered as a more convenient choice for routine process control in an industrial environment. The work reported here is a feasibility study and requires further development with considerably more commercial samples of different varieties. Further studies are needed in order to improve the calibration specificity, accuracy and robustness, and to extend the discrimination to other wine varieties or blends.  相似文献

Trace metal studies of selected white wines: an alternative approach   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A number of white wines from vineyards outside the metropolitan region of Melbourne were analyzed for the trace metals copper, iron, potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The 24 wines analyzed included Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. In addition, preliminary transmission near infrared (NIR) spectrometric analyses for these metals in the above wines indicated, using both multiple linear regression (MLR) and partial least squares (PLS), that promising results may be obtained for some metals. The squared correlation coefficients (R2) and the ratios of the standard error of cross validation (SECV) and the standard deviation (S.D.) for the calibration models for potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium were acceptable, however those for iron and copper were not. Although, only a small number of wines were used in this study, the preliminary data indicated that NIR spectrometry may provide a suitable, rapid method for analysis for some metals in white wines, and warrants a further investigation using a larger number of white wines over a wider range of locations.  相似文献

A total of 95 wine samples including 34 white, 10 rosé and 51 red wines originating from four different Turkish areas were analysed for ochratoxin A (OTA). An analytical method based on immunoaffinity column (IAC) for clean-up and high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FD) was used to determine OTA in wines. The limit of detection (LOD) was estimated as 0.006 ng ml− 1 for white wine and 0.010 ng ml− 1 for rosé and red wines. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was estimated as 0.020 ng ml− 1 in white wine and 0.030 ng ml− 1 in rosé and red wines. Recovery experiments were carried out with spiked samples in the range 0.1–1 ng ml− 1 of OTA. The average OTA recoveries from spiked white wine samples varied from 79.43% to 85.07%; while the mean recoveries for rosé and red wine samples were in the range of 77.48–83.96% and 76.61–83.55%, respectively. OTA was detected in 82 (86%) wine samples at levels of < 0.006–0.815 ng ml− 1, which were below the maximum allowable limit established by the European Community. The mean OTA concentration in red wines was slightly higher than in white and rosé wines. Furthermore, our data indicate that the geographic region of origin has strong influence on OTA level for white, rosé and red wines: wines originating from Thrace (n = 44, mean = 0.158 ng ml− 1) and Aegean (n = 28, mean = 0.060 ng ml− 1) regions of Turkey were more contaminated with OTA compared with wines originating from central (n = 15, mean = 0.027 ng ml−1) and east Anatolia (n = 8, mean = 0.027 ng ml− 1) areas. This study showed that the occurrence of OTA in Turkish wines is high, but at levels that probably leads to a non-significant human exposure to OTA by consumption of wines.  相似文献

Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis by Selective Ion Monitoring (SIM) was applied to quantify 4-Hydroxy-2,5-dimethyl-3(2H)-furanone (HDMF) in both red and white wines obtained from some Italian cultivar of Vitis vinifera. Wines were extracted by liquid-liquid extraction performed with 1,1,2-trichlorotrifluoroethane (Freon 113). The ion m/z 128 was used for quantification while the ion m/z 129 as qualifier. Precision, linearity and accuracy of the method resulted satisfactory. Results showed a significant variation in the concentration of furaneol in wine with grape variety. Generally, HDMF concentrations in white wines were lower than in red wines. Among white wines, Chardonnay resulted characterized by the highest concentration of HDMF. Among red wines the highest concentrations of HDMF were detected in Primitivo and Refosco varieties.  相似文献

Wine and grape juices were identified as one of the most important sources of ochratoxin A (OTA), a mycotoxin with diverse toxic effects that naturally appears in food and foodstuffs all over the world.The aim of this study was to assess the OTA levels in Portuguese wines through the application of a simple and accurate method based on liquid chromatography (LC) with direct injection, followed by fluorescence detection (FD).Randomly selected wine samples were used to evaluate the performance of direct injection as efficient, fast, inexpensive and safe sample preparation method. The proposed method was successfully validated. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was 1.0 μg/L and OTA recoveries from wine samples, spiked at the three fortification levels, were higher than 85.4%, with RSDs lower than 9.6% for both red and white wines. The presence of OTA was confirmed by methyl ester derivatization followed by LC analysis.Data on OTA levels were obtained for 60 Portuguese red and white wine samples. OTA was found in 12 samples, nine (26%) red wine samples and three (12%) white wine samples. Only one red wine sample and one white wine sample presented a contamination level above the LOQ, with 1.23 and 2.4 μg/L, respectively. It should be pointed out that this white wine sample exceeded the EC maximum permitted level of 2.0 μg/L. The safe dose established as 120 ng/kg body weight/week was not exceeded by the weekly intake estimated for the samples contaminated above the LOQ.  相似文献

A comparison of the performance of the methodologies used in two distinct laboratories (Lab A and Lab B) for multi-element analysis in different wines was carried out. ICP-MS apparatus (quadrupole mass analyzers) of different brands as well as different wine pre-treatments were used. At Lab A, a pre-treatment by UV-irradiation was performed. At Lab B, a micro-concentric nebulizer was used for direct analysis of the wine. Twenty-six elements (Li, V, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Rb, Sr, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, and Pb) were measured in common at the two labs in three different wine samples (red and white Bordeaux table wines and Port wine) and the results were compared. The two methodologies provided similar LODs and similar precisions, with RSDs of 0.5-5%, for most of the elements. The recovery percentages were 85-120% at Lab A for the three wines, and 78-119% at Lab B for the Bordeaux wines, validating the accuracy of the methods used. Comparable results were obtained at both labs for ten elements (Li, V, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Ba, and Pb) in the three selected wines; the differences were lower than 10% in most cases. For REEs, the differences observed were slightly higher, but still in the acceptable range due to the sub-ppb levels involved. The results obtained for As and Ga were not comparable, due to methodological influence. A comparison through linear least-squares adjustment indicated that the results obtained by the two labs were linearly correlated (correlation coefficient =0.997) but statistically different as the slope was slightly, but significantly different from one, for a confidence level of 95% (the intercept was statistically identical to zero in any case). In the future, strictly more identical results can be achieved by using a reference wine sample.  相似文献

The rare earth element (REE) concentrations of 19 Romanian young wine samples originating from the Dealurile Moldovei viticulture area were determined by double focusing inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (DF-ICP-MS) after microwave-assisted digestion with nitric acid. The determination of Eu was hampered by the BaO molecular interference. Generally, the red wine samples were more concentrated for REEs than the white wine samples studied. The REE concentrations of the four bentonites (Gelbenton, Evergel, BW200, Tükrös) determined after their fusion were higher by three orders of magnitude than those of the wine samples. After a simulated wine purification process performed with these bentonite samples and a red and white pool samples, the REE concentrations of the clarified wine samples increased by 1.2–1.5 times for red, and 1.3–3 times for white wines in case of the fibrous bentonite sample (Gelbenton), by about 2–5 times in case of the bentonite containing ovalbumin, caseine and gelatine (Evergel), meanwhile this factor was about 20–25 for Na bentonite powder samples (BW200, Tükrös). On basis of the chemometric evaluation using the REE concentrations as input data, the majority of the Feteasca wines belonged to the same cluster as well as the two Cabernet Sauvignon to another subcluster. The adequate choice of the bentonite may allow the use of REEs as fingerprints for determining the wine provenance.  相似文献

Complexing capacity of naturally occurring ligands in Vitis vinifera (Tempranillo variety) wines has been studied with respect to two target metals (Cu and Zn) by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). Eight commercial wines of two certified brands of origin (CBO) and a young wine along its vinification process were monitored. Conditional stability constants and total complexing ligand(s) concentration(s) have been calculated for both metals. Discussion of the particular electrochemical responses for Cu and Zn for all samples is presented. A follow-up of the Cu stripping response allowed differentiating a commercial wine from one under processing related to the cupric casse phenomenon. Interaction of Cu with two molecular forms of cyanidin has been theoretically modeled at natural wine pH.  相似文献

The characteristics of wine phenolics found in several North American and (for comparison) European grape cultivars grown in China were analyzed. This was done to find non-Vitis vinifera wines with prominent features in order to diversify the kinds of wines. The phenolic richness and antioxidant activity decreased in the order: red > rose > white wines. In the red wines, the American grape 'Cynthiana' had the highest total concentrations of phenols, anthocyanins, flavonols and phenolic acids, as well as antioxidant capacity, followed by the French hybrid 'Chambourcin', the lowest were detected in two European grape varieties, 'Merlot' and 'Cabernet Sauvignon', while the total flavon-3-ols levels were reversed among these red grape cultivars. The highest concentration of stilbenes out of all the wines analyzed was found in the 'Merlot' variety. There were significant differences among wine phenolic compositions between North American and European grape cultivars. The antioxidant activities were significantly related to the concentrations of total phenols (r2 = 0.996), anthocyanins (r2 = 0.984), flavonols (r2 = 0.850) and gallic acid (r2 = 0.797). The prominent features of wine aroma and nutrition could make the American grape wines attractive to consumers. It is therefore necessary to perform further research on cultural practices and wine making involving these grapes.  相似文献

HPLC with UV and acidified potassium permanganate chemiluminescence detection, combined with multivariate data analysis techniques, were used for the geographical classification of some Australian red (Cabernet Sauvignon) and white (Chardonnay) wines from two regions (Coonawarra and Geelong). Identification of the wine constituents prominent in the chromatography was performed by mass spectrometry. Principal components analysis and linear discriminant analysis were used to classify the wines according to region of production. Separation between regions was achieved with both detection systems and key components leading to discrimination of the wines were identified. Using two principal components, linear discriminant analysis with UV detection correctly classified 100% of the Chardonnay wines and, overall 91% of the Cabernet Sauvignon wines. With acidified potassium permanganate chemiluminescence detection, 75% of the Chardonnay wines and 94% of the Cabernet Sauvignon wines were correctly classified using two factors.  相似文献

A fully automated system was developed in which 10 mL of sample (diluted wine) was passed over a TFC column, after which the retained analytes were separated by reversed-phase LC and detected by negative ion mode atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization (APCI) MS. The method proved to be fast, non-laborious, robust and sensitive. The feasibility of the method was tested on several red, white and rose wines. Quantitation of resveratrol was possible using the standard addition procedure. Red wine showed the highest amount of resveratrol (4 mg L−1), while rose and white wine contained concentrations which were about ten fold lower.

This study proposes the use of deuterated phthalates as internal standards for the accurate determination of phthalates in wine by headspace solid-phase microextraction followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Unlike other internal standards proposed previously such as benzyl benzoate, deuterated phthalates enabled matrix-error free determinations to be performed without standard addition because statistically equal slopes were obtained for synthetic, white, rose and red wines. The relative standard deviation values under intermediate precision conditions ranged from 0.24 to 4.6%, and detection limits below 35 ng L(-1) were obtained. Recovery values were around 100% in most of cases and the method provided similar results to standard addition. Finally, the method was used to screen phthalate levels in 10 wine samples.  相似文献

Phenolic profiles of young monovarietal white and red wines from the Central Serbia were investigated. Quantification of phenolics was done using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) coupled with a diode array detector and a triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer. Generally, red wines were characterised with higher phenolics content when compared to the white wines. This applies also for the total phenolics content (TPC) and radical scavenging activity (RSA) values. Among all the samples, the red wine from autochthonous Serbian variety ‘Prokupac’ stood out with unique composition, showing the highest TPC, RSA and the highest concentration of the individual phenolics. Finally, based on a specific phenolic pattern, principal component analysis (PCA) indicated clustering of red and white wines, with the ‘Prokupac’ as a prominent outlier.  相似文献

The aim of the present work was to develop and validate an accurate method by ICP-MS focalized to the measurement of contaminant elements in wines, in special those with legal importance. In addition, we intended to evaluate the suitability of ICP-MS semi-quantitative methodology in order to reduce the time and cost of analysis. Twenty-six contaminant elements of wine (Li, Be, Al, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Ag, Cd, In, Cs, Ba, Hg, Tl, Pb, Bi and U) were measured using quantitative and semi-quantitative calibration approaches, in diluted white and red wines. In an early step potential interferences caused by Cl and Ca species were evaluated, in order to establish suitable mathematical corrections. For validation of ICP-MS procedures a few elements were determined by flame and electrothermal AAS. Reference wines from 1992 year, with provisional values, were analyzed and the results showed satisfactory agreement. The semi-quantitative calibration provided slightly higher limits of detection than those obtained by the quantitative calibration, and always lower than 0.1 μg l−1, except for Fe and Zn. For most elements the recovery percentages (between 90 and 100%) and precision of the results (R.S.D. (%) < 4) were similar for both modes. Differences lower than 20% of concentration was obtained for most elements. Both methodologies offer valuable alternatives to wine characterization and comparison purposes. For legal requirements control purposes, with reference to the importance of accurate results, quantitative approach is the most suitable alternative.  相似文献

The goal of this study was to determine the trans-resveratrol concentration in wine. A set of 70 wine samples from Romania, produced according to the appellation of origin system, were analyzed by reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatography. White wines were found to have markedly lower concentrations of trans-resveratrol in comparison with red wines. The values were between 0.025 to 10.23 mg/L for red wine and from 0.074 to 2.572 mg/L for white wine. Red wine is a good dietary source of resveratrol.  相似文献

In this study a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was developed for the determination of trans-astringin in wine using fluorescence detection. This is the first time the occurrence of trans-astringin has been reported in wine. The method allows analysis of both red and white wine samples with no prior treatment. The quantification threshold is 0.03 mg/l. Levels of trans-astringin in the French wines analyzed ranged from 0.09 mg/l to 0.29 mg/l. The reproducibility of the method was measured and the CV was less than 4.8% for both red and white wines.  相似文献

The goal of this work was to assess differences in the composition of red wine produced in Poland, Hungary, Moldova, and Bulgaria, related to their geographical origin. Inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry results obtained for 23 elements were submitted to principal component analysis, indicating the association of Li, Co, Se, Cu, Sr with Moldovan products; Hungarian and Moldovan wines were characterized by V, As, Al, Fe variables, whereas Be was distinctive for Hungarian products. Polish wines were grouped with Cd and Pb and Bulgarian with Tl, Ba, Rb, and Mo; U and Mn were found as characteristic variables for wines from Bulgaria and Moldova. According with current legislation, the investigated wines were not contaminated with heavy metals and might be even considered a good source of essential elements (Cu, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cr, and Co). Gas chromatography–high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry was used as a complementary analytical tool, targeting nonvolatile organic compounds amenable for silylation. Statistical data analysis revealed that geographical factors strongly affected the metabolic profiles. Specifically, 15 compounds presenting higher abundances in Bulgarian as compared to Polish wines were found, including monosaccharides, polyols, organic acids, sugar acids, and the amino acid proline. The highest fold change was obtained for ribose (37.9), followed by proline (12.2) and inositol (5.68), suggesting that these compounds might be especially useful for discrimination purposes. The obtained results encourage for further studies aimed at the discrimination of wine produced over the entire Central-East European region based on metal/metalloid profiling and on the evaluation of specific metabolites.  相似文献

In this work, the determination of 11 pesticides (pirimicarb, metalaxyl, pyrimethanil, procymidone, nuarimol, azoxystrobin, tebufenozide, fenarimol, benalaxyl, penconazole, and tetradifon) in rose wines by micellar EKC (MEKC) using reversed electrode polarity stacking mode (REPSM) as online preconcentration strategy is described. The MEKC buffer consisted of 100 mM sodium tetraborate and 30 mM SDS at pH 8.5 with 6% v/v 1-propanol. A solid-phase microextraction (SPME) procedure using PDMS/divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB) fibers was applied to extract the selected pesticides from the rose wine samples. The comparison between the calibration curves obtained from hydroalcoholic solutions (12% v/v ethanol) and from rose wines (matrix matched calibration) showed the existence of a strong matrix effect. Furthermore, a comparison with calibration curves obtained with white wine samples also showed significant differences for most of the analyzed pesticides. As a result, a matrix matched calibration was developed. Quantitative extraction from spiked wine samples was carried out in triplicate at two levels of concentration (range 0.18-6.00 mg/L). LODs between 0.040 and 0.929 mg/L were achieved, which are below the maximum residue limits (MRLs) established for wine grapes (except for pirimicarb) by the EU and Spain legislation as well as by the Codex Alimentarius. The established method - which is solvent free, cost effective, and fast - was also applied to the analysis of several homemade rose wine samples and a commercial one. Two of the selected pesticides were found in some of the analyzed samples.  相似文献
