We consider the fast diffusion equation (FDE) u t = Δu m (0 < m < 1) on a nonparabolic Riemannian manifold M. Existence of weak solutions holds. Then we show that the validity of Euclidean–type Sobolev inequalities implies that certain L p L q smoothing effects of the type ∥u(t)∥ q Ct −αu 0γ p , the case q = ∞ being included. The converse holds if m is sufficiently close to one. We then consider the case in which the manifold has the addition gap property min σ(−Δ) > 0. In that case solutions vanish in finite time, and we estimate from below and from above the extinction time.   相似文献

We introduce vector-valued sequence spaces w (F, Q, p, u), w 1(F, Q, p, u), w 0(F, Q, p, u), S u q , and S 0u q using a sequence of modulus functions and a multiplier sequence u = (u k ) of nonzero complex numbers. We give some relations for these sequence spaces. It is also shown that if a sequence is strongly u q -Cesàro summable with respect to the modulus function, then it is u q -statistically convergent. In this paper, we characterize classes of matrix transformations from BK spaces into spaces of bounded sequences and their subclasses of infinite matrices that define compact operators. Furthermore, using these results and the solvability of certain infinite linear systems we give necessary and sufficient conditions for A to be a compact operator on spaces that are strongly α-bounded or summable. This paper deals with the strongly coupled parabolic system ut = v^m△u, vt = u^n△v, (x, t) ∈Ω × (0,T) subject to nonlinear boundary conditions 偏du/偏dη = u^αv^p, 偏du/偏dη= u^qv^β, (x, t) ∈ 偏dΩ × (0, T), where Ω 包含 RN is a bounded domain, m, n are positive constants and α,β, p, q are nonnegative constants. Global existence and nonexistence of the positive solution of the above problem are studied and a new criterion is established. It is proved that the positive solution of the above problem exists globally if and only if α 〈 1,β 〈 1 and (m +p)(n + q) ≤ (1 - α)(1 -β).  相似文献

In this paper we consider the boundary blow-up problem Δpua(x)uq in a smooth bounded domain Ω of \mathbbRN{\mathbb{R}}^N, with u = +∞ on ∂Ω. Here Dpu = div(|?u|p-2?u)\Delta_{p}u = {\rm div}(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u) is the well-known p-Laplacian operator with p > 1, qp − 1, and a(x) is a nonnegative weight function which can be singular on ∂Ω. Our results include existence, uniqueness and exact boundary behavior of positive solutions.  相似文献

Suppose F is a finite tuple of selfadjoint elements in a tracial von Neumann algebra M. For α > 0, F is α-bounded if where is the free packing α-entropy of F introduced in [J3]. M is said to be strongly 1-bounded if M has a 1-bounded finite tuple of selfadjoint generators F such that there exists an with . It is shown that if M is strongly 1-bounded, then any finite tuple of selfadjoint generators G for M is 1-bounded and δ0(G) ≤ 1; consequently, a strongly 1-bounded von Neumann algebra is not isomorphic to an interpolated free group factor and δ0 is an invariant for these algebras. Examples of strongly 1-bounded von Neumann algebras include (separable) II 1-factors which have property Γ, have Cartan subalgebras, are non-prime, or the group von Neumann algebras of . If M and N are strongly 1-bounded and MN is diffuse, then the von Neumann algebra generated by M and N is strongly 1-bounded. In particular, a free product of two strongly 1-bounded von Neumann algebras with amalgamation over a common, diffuse von Neumann subalgebra is strongly 1-bounded. It is also shown that a II 1-factor generated by the normalizer of a strongly 1-bounded von Neumann subalgebra is strongly 1-bounded. Let He{\mathcal{H}_{e}} denote the set of all hyperplanes of Δ arising from the embedding e. This paper considers the existence and large time behavior of solutions to the convection-diffusion equation u t −Δu+b(x)·∇(u|u| q −1)=f(x, t) in ℝ n ×[0,∞), where f(x, t) is slowly decaying and q≥1+1/n (or in some particular cases q≥1). The initial condition u 0 is supposed to be in an appropriate L p space. This paper studies the asymptotic behavior near the boundary for large solutions of the semilinear equation Δu + au = b(x)f(u) in a smooth bounded domain Ω of ℝN with N ≥ 2, where a is a real parameter and b is a nonnegative smooth function on . We assume that f(u) behaves like u(ln u)α as u → ∞, for some α > 2. It turns out that this case is more difficult to handle than those where f(u) grows like u p (p > 1) or faster at infinity. Under suitable conditions on the weight function b(x), which may vanish on ∂Ω, we obtain the first order expansion of the large solutions near the boundary. We also obtain some uniqueness results. Let Δ be a triangulation of some polygonal domain Ω ⊂ R2 and let Sqr(Δ) denote the space of all bivariate polynomial splines of smoothness r and degree q with respect to Δ. We develop the first Hermite-type interpolation scheme for S q r (Δ), q ≥ 3r + 2, whose approximation error is bounded above by Kh q +1, where h is the maximal diameter of the triangles in Δ, and the constant K only depends on the smallest angle of the triangulation and is independent of near-degenerate edges and near-singular vertices. Moreover, the fundamental functions of our scheme are minimally supported and form a locally linearly independent basis for a superspline subspace of S q r (Δ). This shows that the optimal approximation order can be achieved by using minimally supported splines. Our method of proof is completely different from the quasi-interpolation techniques for the study of the approximation power of bivariate splines developed in [7] and [18].  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the spaces of sequences that are strongly almost (ω, λ, q)-summable with respect to a modulus function. We give some relations related to these sequence spaces. We consider best N term approximation using anisotropic tensor product wavelet bases ("sparse grids"). We introduce a tensor product structure ⊗q on certain quasi-Banach spaces. We prove that the approximation spaces Aαq(L2) and Aαq(H1) equal tensor products of Besov spaces Bαq(Lq), e.g., Aαq(L2([0,1]d)) = Bαq(Lq([0,1])) ⊗q · ⊗q Bαq · ·(Lq([0,1])). Solutions to elliptic partial differential equations on polygonal/polyhedral domains belong to these new scales of Besov spaces.  相似文献
