Based on the theory of semi-global C 1 solution and the local exact boundary controllability for first-order quasilinear hyperbolic systems, the local exact boundary controllability for a kind of second-order quasilinear hyperbolic systems is obtained by a constructive method.  相似文献

By means of the theory on the semi-global C1 solution to the mixed initial-boundary value problem (IBVP) for first order quasilinear hyperbolic systems, we establish the exact controllability for general nonautonomous first order quasilinear hyperbolic systems with general nonlinear boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, by means of a constructive method based on the existence and uniqueness of the semi‐global C2 solution, we establish the local exact boundary controllability for a kind of second‐order quasilinear hyperbolic systems. As an application, we obtain the one‐sided local exact boundary controllability for the first‐order quasilinear hyperbolic systems of diagonal form with boundary conditions in which the diagonal variables corresponding to the positive eigenvalues and those corresponding to the negative eigenvalues are decoupled. By introducing the concept of the weak linear degeneracy the authors give a complete result for the global existence and for the life span of C1 solutions to the Cauchy problem for general first order quasilinear hyperbolic systems with initial data small in C1 norm and with compact support.  相似文献

Using an idea due toCourant, Isaacson andRees, Törnig andZiegler showed convergence of difference approximations to initial-value problems with first-order systems of quasilinear hyperbolic differential equations in two independent variables by constructing an ordinary difference or differential equation, which has a solution being a majorant of the error and decreasing for decreasing step-sizes. Here this method is generalized to a wider class of quasilinear problems (not necessary hyperbolic, not necessary of first order, not necessary in only two independent variables).  相似文献

The known theory on the one-side exact boundary controllability and the one-side exact boundary observability for first-order quasilinear hyperbolic systems requires that the unknown variables should be suitably coupled in the boundary conditions at the non-control or non-observation side. In this Note we illustrate, with an inspiring example, that the one-side exact boundary controllability and the one-side exact boundary observability can still be realized by means of a suitable coupling among the unknown variables in the quasilinear hyperbolic system itself. This work is a continuation of our previous work [Z.-Q. Shao, D.-X. Kong, Y.-C. Li, Shock reflection for general quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 66 (1) (2007) 93-124]. In this paper, we study the global structure instability of the Riemann solution containing shocks, at least one rarefaction wave for general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws in the presence of a boundary. We prove the nonexistence of global piecewise C1 solution to a class of the mixed initial-boundary value problem for general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws on the quarter plane. Our result indicates that this kind of Riemann solution mentioned above for general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws in the presence of a boundary is globally structurally unstable. Some applications to quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws arising from physics and mechanics are also given.  相似文献

We investigate the existence of a global classical solution to the Goursat problem for linearly degenerate quasilinear hyperbolic systems. As the result in [A. Bressan, Contractive metrics for nonlinear hyperbolic systems, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 37 (1988) 409–421] suggests that one may achieve global smoothness even if the C1 norm of the initial data is large, we prove that, if the C1 norm of the boundary data is bounded but possibly large, and the BV norm of the boundary data is sufficiently small, then the solution remains C1 globally in time. Applications include the equation of time‐like extremal surfaces in Minkowski space R1 + (1 + n) and the one‐dimensional Chaplygin gas equations. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A kind of partially dissipative quasilinear hyperbolic systems in which a part of equations possesses the strict dissipation and the others are weakly linearly degenerate are discussed. Under some weaker hypotheses on the interactions between two parts of equations, it is proved that for any given initial data with small W1,1 and C1 norms, the corresponding Cauchy problem admits a unique C1 global classical solution. This work is a continuation of our previous work. In the present paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of global piecewise C1 solutions with shock waves to the generalized Riemann problem for general quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with linear damping in the presence of a boundary. It is shown that the generalized Riemann problem for general quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with linear damping with nonlinear boundary conditions in the half space {(t, x) | t ≥ 0, x ≥ 0} admits a unique global piecewise C1 solution u = u (t, x) containing only shock waves with small amplitude and this solution possesses a global structure similar to that of a self‐similar solution u = U (x /t) of the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem, if each characteristic field with positive velocity is genuinely nonlinear and the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem has only shock waves but no rarefaction waves and contact discontinuities. This result is also applied to shock reflection for the flow equations of a model class of fluids with viscosity induced by fading memory. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. By means of a direct and constructive method based on the theory of semiglobal C2 solution, the local exact boundary observability is shown for nonautonomous 1-D quasilinear wave equations. The essential difference between nonautonomous wave equations and autonomous ones is also revealed.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem for a class of quasilinear hyperbolic systems with coefficients depending on (t, x) ∈ [0, T ] × ?n and presenting a linear growth for |x | → ∞. We prove well‐posedness in the Schwartz space ?? (?n ). The result is obtained by deriving an energy estimate for the solution of the linearized problem in some weighted Sobolev spaces and applying a fixed point argument. This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behaviour of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with linearly degenerate characteristic fields. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we prove that when t tends to infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 travelling wave solutions, provided that L1L norm of the initial data as well as its derivative are bounded. Application is given for the time‐like extremal surface in Minkowski space. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The paper deals with the asymptotic behaviour of the solution of a quasilinear hyperbolic equation with hysteresis. A stability result for solution in L1(Ω) is derived by the nonlinear semigroup approach.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with linearly degenerate characteristic fields. On the basis of the existence result for the global classical solution, we prove that when t tends to the infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 traveling wave solutions, provided that the C1 norm and the BV norm of the initial data are bounded but possibly large. In contrast to former results obtained by Liu and Zhou [J. Liu, Y. Zhou, Asymptotic behaviour of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems, Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 30 (2007) 479-500], ours do not require their assumption that the system is rich in the sense of Serre. Applications include that to the one-dimensional Born-Infeld system arising in string theory and high energy physics.  相似文献

This paper deals with the global exact controllability for first-order quasilinear hyperbolic systems of diagonal form with linearly degenerate characteristics. When the system has no zero characteristics, we establish the global exact boundary controllability from one arbitrarily preassigned C1C1 data to another by means of a constructive method, in which the desired boundary controls can be acted either on both sides or only on one side. Sharp estimates on the exact controllable time are given in both cases. When the system has some zero characteristics, the global exact controllability is also established.  相似文献

Eventhough existence of global smooth solutions for one dimensional quasilinear hyperbolic systems has been well established, much less is known about the corresponding results for higher dimensional cases. In this paper, we study the existence of global smoothe solutions for the initial-boundary value problem ofo Euler equtions satisfying γ law with damping and exisymmetry, or spherical symmetry. When the damping is strong enough, we give some sufficient conditions for existence of global smooth solutions as 1<γ< 5 3 and 5 3 <γ<3 . The proof is based on technical estimation of the C 1 norm of the solutions.  相似文献

One often believes that there is no shock formation for the Cauchy problem of quasilinear hyperbolic systems (of conservation laws) with linearly degenerate characteristic fields. It has been a conjecture for a long time (see Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 2004; 172 :65–91; Compressible Fluid Flow and Systems of Conservation Laws in Several Space Variables. Springer: New York, 1984) and it is still an open problem in the general situation up to now. In this paper, a framework to justify this conjecture is proposed, and, by means of the concept such as the strict block hyperbolicity, the part richness and the successively block‐closed system, some general kinds of quasilinear hyperbolic systems, which verify the conjecture, are given.
