Microcalorimetric measurements of excess enthalpies at the temperature T = 298.15 K are reported for the two ternary mixtures {x1(C4H8O or C5H10O) + x2C5H12O + x3C8H18}. Smooth representations of the results are presented and used to construct constant excess molar enthalpy contours on Roozeboom diagrams. It is shown that good estimates of the ternary enthalpies can be obtained from the Liebermann and Fried model, using only the physical properties of the components and their binary mixtures.  相似文献

Liquid–liquid equilibria of systems water (A) + CiEj surfactant (B) + n-alkane (C) have been modeled by a mass-action law model previously developed and so far successfully applied to a series of binary water + CiEj systems and to the ternary system water + C4E1 + n-dodecane. These calculations provide the basis for the presented modeling. The aqueous systems give information about the association constants and the χAB-parameter of the Flory–Huggins theory and the ternary C4E1-system provides universal temperature functions for the χAC- and the χBC-parameter. The three-phase equilibrium for seven ternary CiEj systems (i = 6–12, j = 3–6) has been calculated by fitting one additional parameter for each of both temperature functions to the characteristic “fish-tail” point. The agreement with the experimental data is reasonably well. For systems with very small three-phase areas the results can considerably be improved by individual temperature functions that incorporate the experimental temperature maximum of the “fish” into the parameter fit. Based on the parameters of the system water + C8E4 + n-C8H18 the “fish-shaped” phase diagram of the system water + C8E4 + n-C14H30 was predicted reasonably well.  相似文献

Accurate excess molar volumes (VE), at ambient pressure and 303.15 K, have been determined in the ternary liquid mixtures of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) + 2-pentanone (PE) + 1-alkan-1-ols (C3-C6) and in the binary mixtures of PE + alkan-1-ols (C3-C6) as a function of composition. The alkanols include 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-pentanol and 1-hexanol. The intermolecular interactions and structural effects were analyzed on the basis of the measured and derived properties. Excess molar volumes increase in magnitude with increase in chain length of alcohol. Valuable information on the behavior and governing factors of the liquid structure of the strongly associated solvents studied were inferred from the parameters deduced. The VE results were correlated and fitted by the Redlich-Kister equation for binary mixtures and by the Cibulka equation for ternary mixtures, as a function of mole fraction. Several predictive empirical relations were applied to predict the excess volumes of ternary mixtures from the binary mixing data. An analysis of the data indicates a good agreement between experimental results and predicted values in all ternary systems. A discussion is presented and deviations are interpreted in terms of size, shape, the position of ketone group, the chain length of alkanol and hydrogen bond effects in the liquid mixtures studied to explain chemical and thermophysical behavior.  相似文献

A comprehensive thermodynamic model based on the electrolyte NRTL (eNRTL) activity coefficient equation is developed for the NaCl + H2O binary, the Na2SO4 + H2O binary and the NaCl + Na2SO4 + H2O ternary. The NRTL binary parameters for pairs H2O-(Na+, Cl) and H2O-(Na+, SO42−), and the aqueous phase infinite dilution heat capacity parameters for ions Cl and SO42− are regressed from fitting experimental data on mean ionic activity coefficient, heat capacity, liquid enthalpy and dissolution enthalpy for the NaCl + H2O binary and the Na2SO4 + H2O binary with electrolyte concentrations up to saturation and temperature up to 473.15 K. The Gibbs energy of formation, enthalpy of formation and heat capacity parameters for solids NaCl(s), NaCl·2H2O(s), Na2SO4(s) and Na2SO4·10H2O(s) are obtained by fitting experimental data on solubilities of NaCl and Na2SO4 in water. The NRTL binary parameters for the (Na+, Cl)-(Na+, SO42−) pair are regressed from fitting experimental data on dissolution enthalpies and solubilities for the NaCl + Na2SO4 + H2O ternary.  相似文献

The equilibrium pressure of ternary mixtures of {x1CH3F + x2HCl + x3N2O} covering the entire composition range has been measured at temperature of 182.33 K by the static method. The system exhibits a minimum pressure for the binary {x1CH3F + x2HCl}. The molar excess Gibbs free energy has been calculated from the experimental equilibrium pressure. For the equimolar mixture . The (pxy) surface for the ternary system and the corresponding curves for the three constituent binary mixtures obtained from the Peng-Robinson equation of state are in agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

Total vapour pressures, measured at the temperature 313.15 K, are reported for the ternary mixture (N,N-dimethylacetamide + methanol + water), and for binary constituents (N,N-dimethylacetamide + methanol) and (N,N-dimethylacetamide + water). The present results are compared with previously obtained data for binary mixtures (amide + water) and (amide + methanol), where amide=N-methylformamide, N,N-dimethylformamide, N-methyl-acetamide, 2-pyrrolidinone and N-methylpyrrolidinone. Moreover, it was found that excess Gibbs free energy of mixing for binary mixtures varies roughly linearly with the molar volume of amide.  相似文献

Tie-line data for the water, ethanol, and cyclohexane [{w1H2O + w2C2H5OH + (1−w1w2)C6H12}] ternary system, where w is the mass fraction, was investigated at T=303.15 K. A quaternary system containing these three compounds and benzene {w1C2H5OH + w2C6H6 + w3C6H12 + (1−w1w2w3)H2O} was also studied at the same temperature, while data on its other two partially miscible ternary systems were taken from the literature [the fourth {w1C2H5OH + w2C6H6 + (1−w1w2)C6H12} is not partially miscible]. From our experimental results we conclude that this quaternary system presents a very small water tolerance and that phase separation could produce a considerable loss of C2H5OH drawn into the aqueous phase. On the other hand, the results also show that the aqueous phase generally contains a higher concentration of C6H6 than of C6H12. A comparison with other similar quaternary systems investigated in our laboratory was also made. The ternary experimental results were correlated with the UNIQUAC equation, and predicted with the UNIFAC group contribution method. As previously, the equilibrium data of the three ternary systems (including those taken from the literature) were used to determine interaction parameters for the UNIQUAC equation. These parameters were then averaged in order to predict equilibrium data of this quaternary system. The UNIFAC method was also used with the same purpose. The UNIQUAC equation appears to be more accurate than the UNIFAC method for this ternary system. However, this last model is slightly better for the quaternary system, as can be seen from the values of both residuals.  相似文献

The thermodynamic functions of complex formation of benzo-15-crown-5 ether with sodium cation in {(1 − x)DMA + xH2O} at T = 298.15 K have been calculated. The equilibrium constants of complex formation of benzo-15-crown-5 ether with sodium cation have been determined by conductivity measurements. The enthalpic effect of complex formation has been measured by calorimetric method at T = 298.15 K. The complexes are enthalpy stabilized and entropy destabilized. A simple model has been proposed to describe the relationship between the thermodynamic functions of complex formation of crown ethers with sodium cation and the structural and energetic properties of the mixed water-organic solvent. The linear enthalpy-entropy relationship for complex formation is also presented. The solvation enthalpy of the complex in {(1 − x)DMA + xH2O} is discussed.  相似文献

Excess molar enthalpies for the ternary system {x1 2-methoxy-2-methylpropane + x2 ethanol + (1 − x1 − x2) decane} and the involved binary mixture {x ethanol + (1 − x) decane} have been measured at the temperature of 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure, over the whole composition range. No experimental excess enthalpy values were found in the currently available literature for the ternary mixture under study. The results were fitted by means of different variable-degree polynomials. Smooth representations of the results are presented and used to construct constant excess molar enthalpy contours on Roozeboom diagrams. The excess molar enthalpies for the binary and ternary system are positive over the whole range of composition. The binary mixture {x ethanol + (1 − x) decane} is asymmetric, with its maximum displace toward a high mole fraction of decane. The ternary contribution is also positive, and the representation is asymmetric.  相似文献

Vapour–liquid equilibria and densities for the ternary system chloroform + tetrahydrofuran + cyclohexane and for the binary mixtures containing chloroform have been determined at 298.15 K. Vapour–liquid equilibrium data have been collected by head-space gas-chromatographic analysis of the vapour phase directly withdrawn from an equilibration apparatus. Density measurements have been carried out by means of a vibrating tube densimeter. Molar excess Gibbs energies GE and volumes VE, as well as activity coefficients and apparent molar volumes of the components, have been obtained from the measured quantities and discussed. The binary chloroform + tetrahydrofuran displays negative deviations from ideality, while chloroform + cyclohexane positive deviations, for both volume and Gibbs energy. The GE's and VE's for the ternary system are positive in the region rich in cyclohexane while negative in the region rich in chloroform + tetrahydrofuran. This indicates that hydrogen bonding between chloroform and tetrahydrofuran molecules produces negative values of GE and VE and strongly influences the behaviour of the ternary system.  相似文献

Isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium data at 333.15 K are reported for the ternary systems {di-methyl carbonate (DMC) + ethanol + benzene} and {DMC + ethanol + toluene} as determined with headspace gas chromatography. The experimental ternary vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data were correlated with different activity coefficient models. The excess volume (VE) and deviations in molar refractivity (ΔR) data are reported for the binary systems {DMC + benzene} and {DMC + toluene} and also for the ternary systems {DMC + ethanol + benzene} and {DMC + ethanol + toluene} at 298.15 K. These VE and ΔR data were correlated with the Redlich-Kister equation for binary systems and the Cibulka equation for ternary systems.  相似文献

Excess enthalpies (HE), at ambient pressure and T = 298.15 K, have been measured by using a solution calorimeter for the binary liquid mixtures of dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) with ketones, as a function of composition. The ketones chosen in the present investigation were methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), and cyclohexanone (CH). The HE values are positive over the entire composition range for the three binary mixtures. Furthermore, the (vapour + liquid) equilibrium (VLE) was measured at 715 Torr for these mixtures, of different compositions, with the help of Swietoslawski-ebulliometer. The experimental temperature-mole fraction (t-x) data were used to compute Wilson parameters and then used to calculate the equilibrium vapour-phase compositions as well as the theoretical points for these binary mixtures. These Wilson parameters are used to calculate activity coefficients (γ) and these in turn to calculate excess Gibbs free energy (GE). The intermolecular interactions and structural effects were analyzed on the basis of the measured and derived properties.  相似文献

The vapour pressure of binary mixtures of hydrogen sulphide with ethane, propane, and n-butane was measured at T = 182.33 K covering most of the composition range. The excess Gibbs free energy of these mixtures has been derived from the measurements made. For the equimolar mixtures for (H2S + C2H6), (820.1 ± 2.4) J · mol−1 for (H2S + C3H8), and (818.6 ± 0.9) J · mol−1 for (H2S + n-C4H10). The binary mixtures of H2S with ethane and with propane exhibit azeotropes, but that with n-butane does not.  相似文献

Partial molar enthalpies and excess enthalpies HE of binary mixtures of heptane + secondary and tertiary n-alkyl, primary cycloalkyl, and secondary (hetero)cyclic amines have been determined at 298.15 K by isothermal titration calorimetry in the whole composition range. All mixtures showed positive HE values which decrease with increasing amine size in each category, and decrease in the order cyclic primary > cyclic secondary > linear primary [1] > secondary > tertiary when comparing amines of similar size in different categories. From partial molar enthalpies at infinite dilution and known enthalpies of vaporization, the solvation enthalpies have been calculated either for heptane in amines and for amines in heptane. These quantities, together with their cavitational and interactional terms obtained applying the scaled particle theory, are discussed to get insight into the types and relative strength of solute-solvent interactions and into their effects on molecular structure features such as branching and cyclization.  相似文献

Densities, refractive indices and dynamic viscosities of binary and ternary mixtures composed of isopropyl acetate, isopropanol, 1-octyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([C8mim][NTf2]) have been determined at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The excess molar volumes and dynamic viscosity changes of mixing have been calculated and correlated using the Redlich–Kister polynomial equation. Isobaric vapour–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data have been determined experimentally for these binary and ternary systems at 101.32 kPa. The equilibrium data have been adequately correlated by means of Wilson, NRTL, and UNIQUAC equations for the liquid phase activity coefficient.  相似文献

Experimental density and the refractive index of the ternary mixture acetone + n-hexane + water, and their binary systems were experimentally measured and correlated at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. A maximum in refractive indices has been observed for the acetone + water system while the excess molar volume and the molar refraction change are all negative. For the mixture acetone + n-hexane, the excess molar volume is always positive and the molar refraction change of mixing showed a S-shaped dependence on acetone composition. The excess molar volumes and molar refraction changes of mixing were correlated using the Redlich-Kister expression and Cibulka equation. The coefficients and standard deviation between the experimental and fitted values were estimated. Good agreement between both results was obtained.  相似文献

Vapour-liquid equilibrium of CO2 + [0.00871 glycerol + 0.99129 (ethanol or 1-propanol or 1-butanol)] mixtures was measured at the temperatures of 313.15 K and 333.15 K, and close to the critical line, at pressures up to 12 MPa. On the liquid side, the bubble points measured for these ternary mixtures follow closely the behaviour of VLE reported by several authors for the corresponding binary mixtures without glycerol. On the vapour side, however, dew points for the ternary mixtures deviate significantly from VLE results for the binaries. A correlation of the results obtained for the CO2 + glycerol + ethanol mixture with the Peng-Robinson equation of state, admitting quasi-binary behaviour, equally yields good agreement on the liquid side, and significant deviations on the vapour side.  相似文献

This work paper presents vapour–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for binary (CO2 + nicotine) and ternary (CO2 + nicotine + solanesol) mixtures, at 313.2 K and 6, 8 and 15 MPa. The (CO2 + nicotine) system exhibits three phases (L1L2V) in equilibrium at 8.37 MPa. It is estimated that this system most likely follows the type-III phase behaviour. In the ternary system, the presence of solanesol in the vapour phase was detected only at the pressure of 15 MPa. At this pressure, partition coefficients and separation factors for solanesol/nicotine were calculated for different initial nicotine/solanesol compositions and a strong influence of composition was found. The results were modelled using the Peng–Robinson equation of state (PR EOS) coupled with the Mathias–Klotz–Prausnitz (MKP) mixing rule (PR–MKP model). Good correlations of the binary data, particularly in the case of the (CO2 + nicotine) mixture, were obtained. However, the model could not correlate the ternary data.  相似文献

Isothermal vapor–liquid equilibrium data determined by the static method at 303.15 K are reported for the binary systems propyl vinyl ether + 1-propanol, 1-propanol + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane and propyl vinyl ether + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane and also for the ternary system propyl vinyl ether + 1-propanol + 2,2,4-trimethyl-pentane. Additionally, new excess volume data are reported for the same systems at 298.15 K. The experimental binary and ternary vapor–liquid equilibrium data were correlated with different GE models and excess molar volume data were correlated with the Redlich–Kister equation for the binary systems and the Cibulka equation for the ternary system, respectively.  相似文献
