We have used infrared spectroscopy to investigate the decomposition of the gas-phase (Me)(3)M:NH(3) (M = Al, Ga, In) adducts from room temperature to 573 K, at reactant concentrations in the nominal range used for Al(Ga,In)N metal organic chemical vapor deposition. At 473-523 K TMAl:NH(3) decomposes quantitatively to yield (Me(2))AlNH(2) and CH(4). Comparison of the experimental and theoretical spectra indicates that the majority of the aluminum metal organic product exists in dimer form, i.e., [(Me(2))AlNH(2)](2). The decomposition reaction exhibits unimolecular decomposition kinetics with rate constant parameters of nu = 1 x 10(12) s(-1) and E(a) = 25.7 kcal/mol. At temperatures <543 K, TMGa + NH(3) and TMIn + NH(3) mixtures are dominated by reversible adduct formation-dissociation with no detectable quantities of CH(4) produced. At 574 K a small amount of decomposition is observed in TMGa + NH(3) mixtures, which can be explained by a simple kinetic model that includes the effect of adduct equilibrium. Results demonstrate that the (Me)(3)Al:NH(3) decomposition rate is fast enough to contribute to the early stages of a concerted parasitic chemical reaction mechanism, but the (Me)(3)Ga:NH(3) decomposition rate is too slow.  相似文献

We have used gas-phase infrared spectroscopy to determine the equilibrium constant (K(p)) for the formation of (CH(3))(3)Ga:NH(3) and (CH(3))(3)In:NH(3) adducts in the 80-230 degrees C range. In this temperature range, and at reactant concentrations typically used for metal organic chemical vapor deposition, the dominant chemical reaction is reversible adduct formation/dissociation. Reaction enthalpies and entropies are extracted from the temperature dependence of K(p), yielding DeltaH(Ga) = -16.3 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol, DeltaS(Ga) = -32.4 +/- 1.2 eu, and DeltaH(In) = -15.0 +/- 0.6 kcal/mol, DeltaS(In) = -30.3 +/- 1.4 eu. These results will aid current and future modeling efforts, as well as advance our general understanding of the group-III nitride deposition process.  相似文献

The usual assumption of the extra stability of icosahedral boranes (2) over pentagonal-bipyramidal boranes (1) is reversed by substitution of a vertex by a group 13 metal. This preference is a result of the geometrical requirements for optimum overlap between the five-membered face of the ligand and the metal fragment. Isodesmic equations calculated at the B3LYP/LANL2DZ level indicate that the extra stability of 1-M-2,4-C(2)B(4)H(7) varies from 14.44 kcal/mol (M = Al) to 15.30 kcal/mol (M = Tl). Similarly, M(2,4-C(2)B(4)H(6))(2)(1-) is more stable than M(2,4-C(2)B(9)H(11))(2)(1-) by 9.26 kcal/mol (M = Al) and by 6.75 kcal/mol (M = Tl). The preference for (MC(2)B(4)H(6))(2) over (MC(2)B(9)H(11))(2) at the same level is 30.54 kcal/mol (M = Al), 33.16 kcal/ mol (M = Ga) and 37.77 kcal/mol (M = In). The metal-metal bonding here is comparable to those in CpZn-ZnCp and H(2)M-MH(2) (M= Al, Ga, and In).  相似文献

The electronic structures of the mono- and bisammonia adducts EH3NH3 and EH3(NH3)2, E = B and Al, have been investigated using ab initio electronic structure methods. Geometries were optimized at the MP2/cc-pVTZ level. Higher-level correlated methods (MP4(SDTQ), QCISD(T), CCSD(T)), as well as the G2 and CBS-Q methods, were used to obtain accurate bond dissociation energies. The E-N bond dissociation energy (De) is computed near 33 kcal/mol (E = B) and 31 kca/mol (E = Al), respectively. Whereas the Al-N bond energy pertaining to the second ammonia molecule in AlH3(NH3)2 is 11-12 kcal/mol, only a transition-state structure may be located for the species BH3(NH3)2. We analyze factors which may distinguish Al from B with respect to the formation of stable bisamine adducts. The most significant difference relates to electronegativity and hence the propensity of boron to engage in predominantly covalent bonding, as compared with the bonding of aluminum with ammonia, which shows substantial electrostatic character. Neither steric factors nor the participation of d-orbitals is found to play an important role in differentiating aluminum from boron. The lesser electronegativity of third-row elements appears to be the critical common feature allowing the formation of hypercoordinate complexes of these elements in contrast to their second-row analogues. Consideration of some group 14 analogues and hard/soft acid/base effects supports this view.  相似文献

Reaction pathways and free energy barriers for alkaline hydrolysis of the highly neurotoxic insecticide 2-trimethylammonioethyl methylphosphonofluoridate and related organophosphorus compounds were studied by performing first-principles electronic structure calculations on representative methylphosphonofluoridates, (RO)CH3P(O)F, in which R = CH2CH2N+(CH3)3, CH3, CH2CH2C(CH3)3, CH2CH2CH(CH3)2, CH(CH3)CH2N+(CH3)3, and CH(CH3)CH2N(CH3)2. The dominant reaction pathway was found to be associated with a transition state in which the attacking nucleophile OH- and the leaving group F- are positioned on opposite sides of the plane formed by the three remaining atoms attached to the phosphorus in order to minimize the electrostatic repulsion between these two groups. The free energy barriers calculated for the rate-determining step of the dominant pathway are 12.5 kcal/mol when R = CH2CH2N+(CH3)3, 15.5 kcal/mol when R = CH3, 17.9 kcal/mol when R = CH2CH2C(CH3)3, 16.5 kcal/mol when R = CH2CH2CH(CH3)2, 13.4 kcal/mol when R = CH(CH3)CH2N+(CH3)3, and 18.7 kcal/mol when R = CH(CH(3))CH(2)N(CH(3))(2). The calculated free energy barriers are in good agreement with available experimentally derived activation free energies, i.e. 14.7 kcal/mol when R = CH(3), 13.4 kcal/mol when R = CH2CH2N+(CH3)3, and 13.9 kcal/mol when R = CH(CH3)CH2N+(CH3)3. A detailed analysis of the calculated energetic results and available experimental data suggests that the net charge of the molecule (M) being hydrolyzed is a prominent factor affecting the free energy barrier (DeltaG) for the alkaline hydrolysis of phosphodiesters, phosphonofluoridates, and related organophosphorus compounds. The electrostatic interactions between the attacking nucleophile OH- and the molecule M being hydrolyzed favor such an order of the free energy barrier: DeltaG(M(+)+OH-) < DeltaG(M0+OH-) < DeltaG(M(-)+OH-), where M+, M0, and M- represent the cationic, neutral, and anionic molecules, respectively. The change of the substituent R in (RO)CH(3)P(O)F from CH3 to CH2CH2N+(CH3)3 is associated with both the electrostatic and steric effects on the free energy barrier, but the electrostatic effect dominates the substituent shift of the free energy barrier. This helps to better understand why the alkaline hydrolysis of (RO)CH3P(O)F with R = CH2CH2N+(CH3)3 and CH(CH3)CH2N+(CH3)3 is significantly faster than that with R = CH3. The effect of electrostatic interaction also helps to understand why the rate constants for the alkaline hydrolysis of phosphodiesters, such as intramolecular second messenger adenosine 3',5'-phosphate (cAMP), are generally smaller than those for the alkaline hydrolysis of the phosphonofluoridates and related phosphotriesters.  相似文献

High-level electronic structure calculations have been used to construct portions of the potential energy surfaces related to the reaction of diborane with ammonia and ammonia borane (B2H6 + NH3 and B2H6 + BH3NH3)to probe the molecular mechanism of H2 release. Geometries of stationary points were optimized at the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level. Total energies were computed at the coupled-cluster CCSD(T) theory level with the correlation-consistent basis sets. The results show a wide range of reaction pathways for H2 elimination. The initial interaction of B2H6 + NH3 leads to a weak preassociation complex, from which a B-H-B bridge bond is broken giving rise to a more stable H3BHBH2NH3 adduct. This intermediate, which is also formed from BH3NH3 + BH3, is connected with at least six transition states for H2 release with energies 18-93 kal/mol above the separated reactants. The lowest-lying transition state is a six-member cycle, in which BH3exerts a bifunctional catalytic effect accelerating H2 generation within a B-H-H-N framework. Diborane also induces a catalytic effect for H2 elimination from BH3NH3 via a three-step pathway with cyclic transition states. Following conformational changes, the rate-determining transition state for H2 release is approximately 27 kcal/mol above the B2H6 + BH3NH3 reactants, as compared with an energy barrier of approximately 37 kcal/mol for H2 release from BH3NH3. The behavior of two separated BH3 molecules is more complex and involves multiple reaction pathways. Channels from diborane or borane initially converge to a complex comprising the H3BHBH2NH3adduct plus BH3. The interaction of free BH3 with the BH3 moiety of BH3NH3 via a six-member transition state with diborane type of bonding leads to a lower-energy transition state. The corresponding energy barrier is approximately 8 kcal/mol, relative to the reference point H3BHBH2NH3 adduct + BH3. These transition states are 27-36 kcal/mol above BH3NH3 + B2H6, but 1-9 kcal/mol below the separated reactants BH3NH3 + 2 BH3. Upon chemical activation of B2H6 by forming 2 BH3, there should be sufficient internal energy to undergo spontaneous H2 release. Proceeding in the opposite direction, the H2 regeneration of the products of the B2H6 + BH3NH3reaction should be a feasible process under mild thermal conditions.  相似文献

In the present study the natural orbitals for chemical valence (NOCVs) combined with the energy decomposition scheme (ETS) were used to characterize bonding in various clusters of ammonia borane (borazane): dimer D, trimer TR, tetramer TE, and the crystal based models: nonamer N and tetrakaidecamer TD. ETS-NOCV results have shown that shortening of the B-N bond (by ~0.1 ?) in ammonia borane crystal (as compared to isolated borazane molecule) is related to the enhancement of donation (by 6.5 kcal/mol) and electrostatic (by 11.3 kcal/mol) contributions. This, in turn, is caused solely by the electrostatic dipole-dipole interaction between ammonia borane units; dihydrogen bonding, BH···HN, formed between borazane units exhibits no direct impact on B-N bond contraction. On the other hand, formation of dihydrogen bonding appeared to be very important in the total stabilization of single borazane unit, namely, ETS-based data indicated that it leads to significant electronic stabilization ΔE(orb) = -17.5 kcal/mol, which is only slightly less important than the electrostatic term, ΔE(elstat) = -19.4 kcal/mol. Thus, both factors contribute to relatively high melting point of the borazane crystal. Deformation density contributions (Δρ(i)) obtained from NOCVs allowed to conclude that dihydrogen bonding is primarily based on outflow of electron density from B-H bonding orbitals to the empty σ*(N-H) (charge transfer component). Equally important is the covalent contribution resulting from the shift of the electron density from hydrogen atoms of both NH and BH groups to the interatomic regions of NH···HB. Quantitatively, averaged electronic strength of dihydrogen bond per one BH···HN link varies from 1.95 kcal/mol (for the crystal structure model, N), 2.47 kcal/mol (for trimer TR), through 2.65 kcal/mol (for tetramer TE), up to 3.95 kcal/mol (for dimer D).  相似文献

The addition of alkynes HC=CR to Mo(NH)(CH(2))(OR')(2) (R = H, Me, Ph; R' = CH(3), CF(3)) has been studied with both ab initio molecular orbital and density functional calculations. Geometry optimizations were carried out with the HF/3-21G, HF/HW3, and B3LYP/HW3 methods. The transition structures for these addition reactions are in distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometries, similar to those of alkene additions. The calculated activation enthalpy for HC=CH addition to Mo(NH)(CH(2))(OR')(2) is about 10.3 kcal/mol for R' = CH(3) and about 2.3 kcal/mol for R' = CF(3), indicating a significant preference for acetylene addition to Mo(NH)(CH(2))(OCF(3))(2) over Mo(NH)(CH(2))(OCH(3))(2). These barriers are higher than those of the corresponding ethylene addition by about 2-4 kcal/mol, even though the reaction of acetylene is much more exothermic. The alpha-addition of HC=CR (R = Me, Ph) is found to be considerably more favorable than the beta-addition to Mo(NH)(CH(2))(OR')(2). Interestingly, the alpha-addition has a lower activation energy, while the beta-addition has a higher activation energy, compared to that of the parent acetylene addition. Thus, alpha-addition is intrinsically favored over beta-addition by over 4 kcal/mol. This preference is reduced by solvent effect. All these can be explained by a destabilizing interaction between the nonreacting pi-orbital of alkyne and one of the lone pairs on the imido nitrogen. The steric effect of the bulky ligands in the real catalysts is also investigated qualitatively by the PM3 method. These studies give results in good accord with the experimentally observed regioselectivity.  相似文献

Thermochemical parameters of hydroxymethylene (HC:OH) and 1-hydroxyethylidene (CH3C:OH) were evaluated by using coupled-cluster, CCSD(T), theory, in conjunction with the augmented correlation consistent, aug-cc-pVnZ, basis sets, with n = D, T, Q, and 5, extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. The predicted value at 298 K for Delta Hf(CH2O) is -26.0 +/- 1 kcal/mol, as compared to an experimental value of -25.98 +/- 0.01 kcal/mol, and for Delta Hf(CH:OH) it is 26.1 +/- 1 kcal/mol. The hydroxymethylene-formaldehyde energy gap is 52.1 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol, the singlet-triplet separation of hydroxymethylene is Delta E(ST)(HC:OH) = 25.3 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol, the proton affinity is PA(HC:OH) = 222.5 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol, and the ionization energy is IEa(HC:OH) = 8.91 +/- 0.04 eV. The predicted value at 298 K for Delta Hf(CH3CHO) is -39.1 +/- 1 kcal/mol as compared to an experimental value of -40.80 +/- 0.35 kcal/mol, and for Delta Hf(CH3C:OH) it is 11.2 +/- 1 kcal/mol. The hydroxyethylidene-acetaldehyde energy gap is 50.6 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol, the singlet-triplet separation of 1-hydroxyethylidene is Delta E(ST)(CH3C:OH) = 30.5 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol, the proton affinity is PA(CH3C:OH) = 234.7 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol, and the ionization energy is IEa(CH3C:OH) = 8.18 +/- 0.04 eV. The calculated energy differences between the carbene and aldehyde isomers, and, thus, the heats of formation of the carbenes, differ from the experimental values by 2.5 kcal/mol.  相似文献

Hydrogen-bonded complexes of pentachlorocyclopropane with the bases acetonitrile, ammonia, monomethylamine, and dimethylamine have been isolated and characterized for the first time in argon matrices at 16 K. Coordination of the proton of pentachlorocyclopropane (Pccp) to the electron donor (N) of the base was evidenced by red shifts of the CH stretching mode. These shifts, which range from 22 to 170 cm(-1), increase in the order CH3CN, NH3, (CH3)NH2, and (CH3)2NH. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations at the B3LYP level agree well with experiment and support the formation of 1:1 complexes of Pccp/base. Distinct changes were observed in ring modes as well as CCl and CCl2 modes. The hydrogen bond energy of the complexes varies from 2.95 to 4.22 kcal/mol and is stronger than our previously studied bromocyclopropane-ammonia complex (2.35 kcal/mol, MP2).  相似文献

The equilibrium geometries and first bond dissociation energies of the homoleptic complexes M(EMe)4 and M(CO)4 with M = Ni, Pd, Pt and E = B, Al, Ga, In, Tl have been calculated at the gradient corrected DFT level using the BP86 functionals. The electronic structure of the metal‐ligand bonds has been examined with the topologial analysis of the electron density distribution. The nature of the bonding is revealed by partitioning the metal‐ligand interaction energies into contributions by electrostatic attraction, covalent bonding and Pauli repulsion. The calculated data show that the M‐CO and M‐EMe bonding is very similar. However, the M‐EMe bonds of the lighter elements E are much stronger than the M‐CO bonds. The bond energies of the latter are as low or even lower than the M‐TlMe bonds. The main reason why Pd(CO)4 and Pt(CO)4 are unstable at room temperature in a condensed phase can be traced back to the already rather weak bond energy of the Ni‐CO bond. The Pd‐L bond energies of the complexes with L = CO and L = EMe are always 10 — 20 kcal/mol lower than the Ni‐L bond energies. The calculated bond energy of Ni(CO)4 is only Do = 27 kcal/mol. Thus, the bond energy of Pd(CO)4 is only Do = 12 kcal/mol. The first bond dissociation energy of Pt(CO)4 is low because the relaxation energy of the Pt(CO)3 fragment is rather high. The low bond energies of the M‐CO bonds are mainly caused by the relatively weak electrostatic attraction and by the comparatively large Pauli repulsion. The σ and π contributions to the covalent M‐CO interactions have about the same strength. The π bonding in the M‐EMe bonds is less than in the M‐CO bonds but it remains an important part of the bond energy. The trends of the electrostatic and covalent contributions to the bond energies and the σ and π bonding in the metal‐ligand bonds are discussed.  相似文献

A model of adsorption and recombination of OH radicals was developed for nonreactive solid surfaces of atmospheric interest. A parametrization of this heterogeneous mechanism was carried out to determine the role of the catalytic properties of these solid surfaces, taking into account the adsorption energy, defects, surface diffusion, and chemical reactions in the gas-solid interface. The uptake process was simulated for diffusion-controlled chemical reactions on the surface on the basis of Langmuir-Hinshelwood and Eley-Rideal mechanisms. Using an analytical approach and the Monte Carlo technique, we show the dependencies of the uptake probability of the heterogeneous reactions on the OH concentration and adsorption energy. The model is employed in the analysis of the empirically derived uptake coefficient for water ice, Al(2)O(3), NaCl, NH(4)NO(3), NH(4)HSO(4), and (NH(4))(2)SO(4). We found the following values for the free energy of adsorption of OH radicals: E(ice) = 7.3-7.6 kcal/mol, E(Al)(2)(O)(3) = 11-11.7 kcal/mol, E(NH)(4)(NO)(3) = 10.2 kcal/mol, E(NaCl) = 10.2 kcal/mol, E(NH)(4)(HSO)(4) = 9.8 kcal/mol, and E((NH)(4))(2)(SO)(4) = 9.8 kcal/mol. The atmospheric implications of the catalytic reactions of OH with adsorbed reactive molecules are discussed. The results of the modeling of the uptake process showed that the heterogeneous decay rate can exceed the corresponding gas-phase reaction rate under atmospheric conditions.  相似文献

High-level electronic structure calculations have been used to map out the relevant portions of the potential energy surfaces for the release of H2 from dimers of ammonia borane, BH3NH3 (AB). Using the correlation-consistent aug-cc-pVTZ basis set at the second-order perturbation MP2 level, geometries of stationary points were optimized. Relative energies were computed at these points using coupled-cluster CCSD(T) theory with the correlation-consistent basis sets at least up to the aug-cc-pVTZ level and in some cases extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. The results show that there are a number of possible dimers involving different types of hydrogen-bonded interactions. The most stable gaseous phase (AB)2 dimer results from a head-to-tail cyclic conformation and is stabilized by 14.0 kcal/mol with respect to two AB monomers. (AB)2 can generate one or two H2 molecules via several direct pathways with energy barriers ranging from 44 to 50 kcal/mol. The diammoniate of diborane ion pair isomer, [BH4-][NH3BH2NH3+] (DADB), is 10.6 kcal/mol less stable than (AB)2 and can be formed from two AB monomers by overcoming an energy barrier of approximately 26 kcal/mol. DADB can also be generated from successive additions of two NH3 molecules to B2H6 and from condensation of AB with separated BH3 and NH3 molecules. The pathway for H2 elimination from DADB is characterized by a smaller energy barrier of 20.1 kcal/mol. The alternative ion pair [NH4+][BH3NH2BH3-] is calculated to be 16.4 kcal/mol above (AB)2 and undergoes H2 release with an energy barrier of 17.7 kcal/mol. H2 elimination from both ion pair isomers yields the chain BH3NH2BH2NH3 as product. Our results suggest that the neutral dimer will play a minor role in the release of H2 from ammonia borane, with a dominant role from the ion pairs as observed experimentally in ionic liquids and the solid state.  相似文献

The ethylenediamine (en) complexes of Al, Ga, and In atoms were prepared in laser-vaporization supersonic molecular beams and studied with pulsed field ionization zero electron kinetic energy photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional theory. Several conformers of each metal complex are obtained by B3LYP calculations, and a five-membered cyclic structure is identified by combining the experimental measurements and theoretical calculations. Adiabatic ionization potentials, vibrational frequencies, and bond dissociation energies are determined for the ring structure. The ionization potentials of the Al, Ga, and In species are measured to be 32 784 (5), 33 324 (5), and 33 637 (7) cm(-1), respectively, and metal-ligand dissociation energies of the ionic and neutral complexes are calculated to be 60.2/16.2 (Al(+)/Al), 55.5/13.0 (Ga(+)/Ga), and 50.0/11.4 (In(+)/In) kcal mol(-1). Metal-ligand stretch and bend as well as a number of ligand-based vibrations are measured. Harmonic frequencies and anharmonicities of the M(+)-N (M=Al,Ga,In) stretch are determined for all three M(+)-en ions and the C-C-N bend of Ga(+)-en and In(+)-en. In comparison to monodentate methylamine, the bidentate binding of ethylenediamine leads to a significantly lower ionization potential and higher metal-ligand bond strength of the metal complexes.  相似文献

Stationary points for reactions R'R' 'HX(+) + YH --> [R'R' 'X-Y](+) + H(2) (I) and R'(CH(3))HX(+) + YH -->[R'HX-Y](+) + CH(4) (II) (R', R' ' = CH(3), H; X = C, Si; Y = CH(3)O, (CH(3))(2)N, and C(6)H(5)) are located and optimized by the B3LYP/aug-cc-pVDZ method. A similar mechanism was found to be operative for both types of reactions with X = C and X = Si. Formation of the intermediate (adduct) results in the transfer of electron density from the electron-rich bases to the X atoms and in the growth of a positive charge on a hydrogen atom attached to Y. This mobile proton may shift from Y to X, and the relative energies of transition states for elimination reactions (Delta) depend on the ability of the X atom to retain this proton. Therefore, Deltagrows on going from Si to C and with increasing numbers of methyl substituents. For X = C, the Deltavalue for both reactions correlates well with the population of the valence orbitals of X in a wide range from -44 kcal/mol (methyl cation/benzene) to 31 kcal/mol (isopropyl cation/methanol). For X = Si this range is more narrow (from -19 to -5.0 kcal/mol), but all Delta values are negative with the exclusion of silylium ion/benzene systems, adducts of which are pi- rather than sigma-complexes. The energy minima for product complexes for H(2) elimination are very shallow, and several are dissociative. However, complexes with methane which exhibit bonding between X and the methane hydrogen are substantially stronger, especially for systems with X = Si. The latter association energy may reach 8 kcal/mol (Si...H distance is 2 A).  相似文献

The gas-phase reactions between ethylenediamine (en) and Cu(+) have been investigated by means of mass spectrometry techniques. The MIKE spectrum reveals that the adduct ions [Cu(+)(H(2)NCH(2)CH(2)NH(2))] spontaneously decompose by loosing H(2), NH(3) and HCu, the loss of hydrogen being clearly dominant. The spectra of the fully C-deuterated species show the loss of HD, NH(3) and CuD but no losses of H(2), D(2), NH(2)D, NHD(2), ND(3) or CuH are observed. This clearly excludes hydrogen exchange between the methylene and the amino groups as possible mechanisms for the loss of ammonia. Conversely, methylene hydrogen atoms are clearly involved in the loss of molecular hydrogen. The structures and bonding characteristics of the Cu(+)(en) complexes as well as the different stationary points of the corresponding potential energy surface (PES) have been theoretically studied by DFT calculations carried out at B3LYP/6-311+G(2df,2p)//B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level. Based on the topology of this PES the most plausible mechanisms for the aforementioned unimolecular fragmentations are proposed. Our theoretical estimates indicate that Cu(+) strongly binds to en, by forming a chelated structure in which Cu(+) is bridging between both amino groups. The binding energy is quite high (84 kcal mol(-1)), but also the products of the unimolecular decomposition of Cu(+)(en) complexes are strongly bound Cu(+)-complexes.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of the CH(3)N(?)NH(2), cis-CH(3)NHN(?)H, trans-CH(3)NHN(?)H, and C(?)H(2)NNH(2) radicals, which are the four radical products from the H-abstraction reactions of monomethylhydrazine, were theoretically studied by using ab initio Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus (RRKM) transition-state theory and master equation analysis. Various decomposition pathways were identified by using either the QCISD(T)/cc-pV∞Z//CASPT2/aug-cc-pVTZ or the QCISD(T)/cc-pV∞Z//B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) quantum chemistry methods. The results reveal that the β-scission of NH(2) to form methyleneimine is the predominant channel for the decomposition of the C(?)H(2)NNH(2) radical due to its small energy barrier of 13.8 kcal mol(-1). The high pressure limit rate coefficient for the reaction is fitted by 3.88 × 10(19)T(-1.672) exp(-9665.13/T) s(-1). In addition, the pressure dependent rate coefficients exhibit slight temperature dependence at temperatures of 1000-2500 K. The cis-CH(3)NHN(?)H and trans-CH(3)NHN(?)H radicals are the two distinct spatial isomers with an energy barrier of 26 kcal mol(-1) for their isomerization. The β-scission of CH(3) from the cis-CH(3)NHN(?)H radical to form trans-diazene has an energy barrier of 35.2 kcal mol(-1), and the β-scission of CH(3) from the trans-CH(3)NHN(?)H radical to form cis-diazene has an energy barrier of 39.8 kcal mol(-1). The CH(3)N(?)NH(2) radical undergoes the β-scission of methyl hydrogen and amine hydrogen to form CH(2)═NNH(2), trans-CH(3)N═NH, and cis-CH(3)N═NH products, with the energy barriers of 42.8, 46.0, and 50.2 kcal mol(-1), respectively. The dissociation and isomerization rate coefficients for the reactions were calculated via the E/J resolved RRKM theory and multiple-well master equation analysis at temperatures of 300-2500 K and pressures of 0.01-100 atm. The calculated rate coefficients associated with updated thermochemical property data are essential components in the development of kinetic mechanisms for the pyrolysis and oxidation of MMH and its derivatives.  相似文献

The electronic and geometric structures of gallium dinitride cation, GaN2+ and gallium tetranitride cation, GaN4+ were systematically studied by employing density functional theory (DFT-B3LYP) and perturbation theory (MP2, MP4) in conjunction with large basis sets, (aug-)cc-pVxZ, x = T, Q. A total of 7 structures for GaN2+ and 24 for GaN4+ were identified, corresponding to minima, transition states, and saddle points. We report geometries and dissociation energies for all the above structures as well as potential energy profiles, potential energy surfaces, and bonding mechanisms for some low-lying electronic states. The calculated dissociation energy (De) of the ground state of GaN2+, X1Sigma+, is 5.6 kcal/mol with respect to Ga+(1S) + N2(X1Sigmag+) and that of the excited state, ?3Pi, is 24.8 kcal/mol with respect to Ga+(3P) + N2(X1Sigmag+). The ground state and the first excited minimum of GaN4+ are of 1A1(C2v) and 3B1(C2v) symmetry with corresponding De of 11.0 and 43.7 kcal/mol with respect to Ga+(1S) + 2N2(X1Sigmag+) for X1A1 and Ga+(3P) + 2N2(X1Sigmag+) for 3B1.  相似文献

The rearrangement of aminoethanol catalyzed by ethanolamine ammonia lyase is investigated by computational means employing DFT (B3LYP/6-31G) and ab initio molecular orbital theory (QCISD/cc-pVDZ). The study aims at providing a detailed account on various crucial aspects, in particular a distinction between a direct intramolecular migration of the partially protonated NH(2) group vs elimination of NH(4)(+). Three mechanistic scenarios were explored: (i) According to the calculations, irrespective of the nature of the protonating species, intramolecular migration of the NH(3) group is energetically less demanding than elimination of NH(4)(+). However, all computed activation enthalpies exceed the experimentally derived activation enthalpy (15 kcal/mol) associated with the rate-determining step, i.e., the hydrogen abstraction from the 5'-deoxyadenosine by the product radical. For example, when imidazole is used as a model system for His interacting with the NH(3) group of the substrate, the activation enthalpy for the migration process amounts to 27.4 kcal/mol. If acetic acid is employed to mimic Asp or Glu, the activation enthalpy is somewhat lower, being equal to 24.2 kcal/mol. (ii) For a partial deprotonation of the substrate 2 at the OH group, the rearrangement mechanism consists of the dissociation of an NH(2) radical from C(2) and its association at C(1) atom. For all investigated proton acceptors (i.e., OH(-), HCOO(-), CH(3)COO(-), CH(2)NH, imidazole), the activation enthalpy for the dissociation step also exceeds 15 kcal/mol. Typical data are 20.2 kcal/mol for Ac(-) and 23.8 kcal/mol for imidazole. (iii) However, in a synergistic action of partial protonation of the NH(2) group and partial deprotonation of the OH group by the two conceivable catalytic auxiliaries Asp/Glu and His, the activation enthalpy computed is compatible with the experimental data. For imidazole and acetate as model systems, the activation enthalpy is equal to 13.7 kcal/mol. This synergistic action of the two catalytic groups is expected to take place in a physiologically realistic pH range of 6-9.5, and the present computational findings may help to further characterize the yet unknown structural details of the ethanolamine ammonia lyase's active site.  相似文献

Nitrogen-containing heterocycles form the basis for a new generation of high-energy density materials, and they serve as model compounds for nitrogen-containing fuels, such as coal and biomass, and they form the backbone of ionic liquids. A novel retro-[3 + 2]-cycloaddition to a three-membered diene and a two-membered dienophile, analogous to a retro-Diels-Alder reaction, may constitute an important initial reaction step in the thermal decomposition of these heterocyclic compounds. We investigate the kinetics and thermodynamics of these reactions for the heterocycles pyrrole, pyrazole, imidazole, 1,2,3-triazole, 1,2,4-triazole, 1,2,5-triazole, 1,3,4,-triazole, 1H-tetrazole, and 2H-tetrazole, using theoretical computational chemistry. The retro-cycloadditions are shown to form one of the three-membered products: hydrazoic acid (NH=N=N), nitrilimine (NH=N=CH), carbodiimide (NH=C=NH), or ketenimine (NH=C=CH2) plus one of the two-membered products acetylene, hydrogen cyanide, or N2. Accurate enthalpies of formation are calculated for the reaction products using the high-level W1 computational protocol, providing the previously undetermined enthalpy values of 70.09, 88.75, 35.03, and 44.28 kcal mol(-1) for hydrazoic acid, nitrilimine, carbodiimide, and ketenimine, respectively. We apply a variable-order form of the Marcus equation to the dissociation reactions in correlating the enthalpy of reaction with the activation enthalpy. Typical molecular elimination reactions from the heterocycles proceed with an intrinsic activation enthalpy of 36.8 kcal mol(-1) and intrinsic activation free energy of 42.1 kcal mol(-1). However, dissociation reactions resulting in the formation of either NH=C=NH or NH=C=CH2 demonstrate intrinsic barriers ca. 30 kcal mol(-1) higher, as a result of a concerted intramolecular hydrogen shift. Rate constants calculated between 300 and 3000 K indicate that the proposed dissociation reactions should be important in the decomposition of tetrazole and 1,2,3-triazole. This is confirmed by comparison with available experimental data. Decomposition of 1,2,4-triazole to HCN + nitrilimine may also be important at high temperatures. From extrapolation of our Marcus equation relationship, we predict pentazole to decompose to N2 + NHNN with an activation enthalpy of 19.5 kcal mol-1 and a half-life of only 14 s at 298 K.  相似文献
