In the present paper, we investigate the large-time behavior of the solution to an initial-boundary value problem for the isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations in the Eulerian coordinate in the half space. This is one of the series of papers by the authors on the stability of nonlinear waves for the outflow problem of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations. Some suitable assumptions are made to guarantee that the time-asymptotic state is a nonlinear wave which is the superposition of a stationary solution and a rarefaction wave. Employing the L2-energy method and making use of the techniques from the paper [S. Kawashima, Y. Nikkuni, Stability of rarefaction waves for the discrete Boltzmann equations, Adv. Math. Sci. Appl. 12 (1) (2002) 327-353], we prove that this nonlinear wave is nonlinearly stable under a small perturbation. The complexity of nonlinear wave leads to many complicated terms in the course of establishing the a priori estimates, however those terms are of two basic types, and the terms of each type are “good” and can be evaluated suitably by using the decay (in both time and space variables) estimates of each component of nonlinear wave.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the regularizing effect of a non-local operator on first-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations. We prove that there exists a unique solution that is C2 in space and C1 in time. In order to do so, we combine viscosity solution techniques and Green's function techniques. Viscosity solution theory provides the existence of a W1,∞ solution as well as uniqueness and stability results. A Duhamel's integral representation of the equation involving the Green's function permits to prove further regularity. We also state the existence of C solutions (in space and time) under suitable assumptions on the Hamiltonian. We finally give an error estimate in L norm between the viscosity solution of the pure Hamilton-Jacobi equation and the solution of the integro-differential equation with a vanishing non-local part.  相似文献

We present three results related with the regularity of solutions of the almost cubic NLS. In the first one, following Ozawa’s idea, we establish mass and energy conservation for the solutions without regularizing the initial datum. Our second result is the Hs well-posedness for the Cauchy problem for 0<s<1. Finally, we show that the same solutions are also in some Bourgain spaces for possibly a smaller time interval. In all of our results, the non-local nonlinear term in the equation is shown to act like a cubic nonlinearity on the appropriate Sobolev and Besov spaces.  相似文献

The Cahn–Hilliard–Hele–Shaw system is a fundamental diffuse-interface model for an incompressible binary fluid confined in a Hele–Shaw cell. It consists of a convective Cahn–Hilliard equation in which the velocity u is subject to a Korteweg force through Darcy's equation. In this paper, we aim to investigate the system with a physically relevant potential (i.e., of logarithmic type). This choice ensures that the (relative) concentration difference φ takes values within the admissible range. To the best of our knowledge, essentially all the available contributions in the literature are concerned with a regular approximation of the singular potential. Here we first prove the existence of a global weak solution with finite energy that satisfies an energy dissipative property. Then, in dimension two, we further obtain the uniqueness and regularity of global weak solutions. In particular, we show that any two-dimensional weak solution satisfies the so-called strict separation property, namely, if φ is not a pure state at some initial time, then it stays instantaneously away from the pure states. When the spatial dimension is three, we prove the existence of a unique global strong solution, provided that the initial datum is regular enough and sufficiently close to any local minimizer of the free energy. This also yields the local Lyapunov stability of the local minimizer itself. Finally, we prove that under suitable assumptions any global solution converges to a single equilibrium as time goes to infinity.  相似文献

We introduce Triebel-Lizorkin-Lorentz function spaces, based on the Lorentz Lp,q-spaces instead of the standard Lp-spaces, and prove a local-in-time unique existence and a blow-up criterion of solutions in those spaces for the Euler equations of inviscid incompressible fluid in Rn,n≥2. As a corollary we obtain global existence of solutions to the 2D Euler equations in the Triebel-Lizorkin-Lorentz space. For the proof, we establish the Beale-Kato-Majda type logarithmic inequality and commutator estimates in our spaces. The key methods of proof used are the Littlewood-Paley decomposition and the paradifferential calculus by J.M. Bony.  相似文献

We prove the global existence of the so-called H2 solutions for a nonlinear wave equation with a nonlinear dissipative term and a derivative type nonlinear perturbation. To show the boundedness of the second order derivatives we need a precise energy decay estimate and for this we employ a ‘loan’ method.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate an initial boundary value problem for 1D compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with large initial data, density-dependent viscosity, external force, and vacuum. Making full use of the local estimates of the solutions in Cho and Kim (2006) [3] and the one-dimensional properties of the equations and the Sobolev inequalities, we get a unique global classical solution (ρ,u) where ρC1([0,T];H1([0,1])) and uH1([0,T];H2([0,1])) for any T>0. As it is pointed out in Xin (1998) [31] that the smooth solution (ρ,u)∈C1([0,T];H3(R1)) (T is large enough) of the Cauchy problem must blow up in finite time when the initial density is of nontrivial compact support. It seems that the regularities of the solutions we obtained can be improved, which motivates us to obtain some new estimates with the help of a new test function ρ2utt, such as Lemmas 3.2-3.6. This leads to further regularities of (ρ,u) where ρC1([0,T];H3([0,1])), uH1([0,T];H3([0,1])). It is still open whether the regularity of u could be improved to C1([0,T];H3([0,1])) with the appearance of vacuum, since it is not obvious that the solutions in C1([0,T];H3([0,1])) to the initial boundary value problem must blow up in finite time.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the decay and blow-up properties of a viscoelastic wave equation with boundary damping and source terms. We first extend the decay result (for the case of linear damping) obtained by Lu et al. (On a viscoelastic equation with nonlinear boundary damping and source terms: Global existence and decay of the solution, Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications 12 (1) (2011), 295-303) to the nonlinear damping case under weaker assumption on the relaxation function g(t). Then, we give an exponential decay result without the relation between g(t) and g(t) for the linear damping case, provided that ‖gL1(0,) is small enough. Finally, we establish two blow-up results: one is for certain solutions with nonpositive initial energy as well as positive initial energy for both the linear and nonlinear damping cases, the other is for certain solutions with arbitrarily positive initial energy for the linear damping case.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of traveling fronts of reaction-diffusion equations with periodic advection in the whole plane R2. We are interested in curved fronts satisfying some “conical” conditions at infinity. We prove that there is a minimal speed c such that curved fronts with speed c exist if and only if cc. Moreover, we show that such curved fronts are decreasing in the direction of propagation, that is, they are increasing in time. We also give some results about the asymptotic behaviors of the speed with respect to the advection, diffusion and reaction coefficients.  相似文献

We first study the initial value problem for a general semilinear heat equation. We prove that every bounded nonconstant radial steady state is unstable if the spatial dimension is low (n?10) or if the steady state is flat enough at infinity: the solution of the heat equation either becomes unbounded as t approaches the lifespan, or eventually stays above or below another bounded radial steady state, depending on if the initial value is above or below the first steady state; moreover, the second steady state must be a constant if n?10.Using this instability result, we then prove that every nonconstant radial steady state of the generalized Fisher equation is a hair-trigger for two kinds of dynamical behavior: extinction and spreading. We also prove more criteria on initial values for these types of behavior. Similar results for a reaction-diffusion system modeling an isothermal autocatalytic chemical reaction are also obtained.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem of the Ostrovsky equation. We first prove the time local well-posedness in the anisotropic Sobolev space Hs,a with s>−a/2−3/4 and 0?a?−1 by the Fourier restriction norm method. This result include the time local well-posedness in Hs with s>−3/4 for both positive and negative dissipation, namely for both βγ>0 and βγ<0. We next consider the weak rotation limit. We prove that the solution of the Ostrovsky equation converges to the solution of the KdV equation when the rotation parameter γ goes to 0 and the initial data of the KdV equation is in L2. To show this result, we prove a bilinear estimate which is uniform with respect to γ.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with certain natural Sobolev-type estimates for weak solutions of inhomogeneous problems for second-order parabolic equations in divergence form. The geometric setting is that of time-independent cylinders having a space intersection assumed to be locally given by graphs with small Lipschitz coefficients, the constants of the operator being uniformly parabolic. We prove the relevant Lp estimates, assuming that the coefficients are in parabolic bounded mean oscillation (BMO) and that their parabolic BMO semi-norms are small enough.  相似文献

The energy method in the Fourier space is useful in deriving the decay estimates for problems in the whole space Rn. In this paper, we study half space problems in and develop the energy method in the partial Fourier space obtained by taking the Fourier transform with respect to the tangential variable xRn−1. For the variable x1R+ in the normal direction, we use L2 space or weighted L2 space. We apply this energy method to the half space problem for damped wave equations with a nonlinear convection term and prove the asymptotic stability of planar stationary waves by showing a sharp convergence rate for t→∞. The result obtained in this paper is a refinement of the previous one in Ueda et al. (2008) [13].  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the mixed initial-boundary value problem for diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear boundary conditions on a half-unbounded domain . Under the assumptions that system is strictly hyperbolic and linearly degenerate, we obtain the global existence and uniqueness of C1 solutions with the bounded L1L norm of the initial data as well as their derivatives and appropriate boundary condition. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we also prove that when t tends to infinity, the solutions approach a combination of C1 travelling wave solutions. Under the appropriate assumptions of initial and boundary data, the results can be applied to the equation of time-like extremal surface in Minkowski space R1+(1+n).  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the optimal error estimates and energy conservation properties of the alternating direction implicit finite-difference time-domain(ADI-FDTD) method which is a popular scheme for solving the 3D Maxwell’s equations.Precisely, for the case with a perfectly electric conducting(PEC) boundary condition we establish the optimal second-order error estimates in both space and time in the discrete H 1-norm for the ADI-FDTD scheme, and prove the approximate divergence preserving property that if the divergence of the initial electric and magnetic fields are zero, then the discrete L 2-norm of the discrete divergence of the ADI-FDTD solution is approximately zero with the second-order accuracy in both space and time. The key ingredient is two new discrete modified energy norms which are second-order in time perturbations of two new energy conservation laws for the Maxwell’s equations introduced in this paper.Furthermore,we prove that,in addition to two known discrete modified energy identities which are second-order in time perturbations of two known energy conservation laws, the ADI-FDTD scheme also satisfies two new discrete modified energy identities which are second-order in time perturbations of the two new energy conservation laws. This means that the ADI-FDTD scheme is unconditionally stable under the four discrete modified energy norms.Experimental results which confirm the theoretical results are presented.  相似文献

We study the initial value problem for a hyperbolic-elliptic coupled system with L initial data. We prove global-in-time existence and uniqueness for that model by means of contraction and comparison properties. Moreover, after suitable scalings, we analyze both the hyperbolic–hyperbolic and the hyperbolic–parabolic relaxation limits for the model itself.  相似文献

This paper studies the Cauchy problem for the coupled system of nonlinear Klein-Gordon equations with damping terms. We first state the existence of standing wave with ground state, based on which we prove a sharp criteria for global existence and blow-up of solutions when E(0)<d. We then introduce a family of potential wells and discuss the invariant sets and vacuum isolating behavior of solutions for 0<E(0)<d and E(0)≤0, respectively. Furthermore, we prove the global existence and asymptotic behavior of solutions for the case of potential well family with 0<E(0)<d. Finally, a blow-up result for solutions with arbitrarily positive initial energy is obtained.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behavior of the solution of a Korteweg–de Vries equation with an additive noise whose amplitude ε   tends to zero. The noise is white in time and correlated in space and the initial state of the solution is a soliton solution of the unperturbed Korteweg–de Vries equation. We prove that up to times of the order of 1/ε21/ε2, the solution decomposes into the sum of a randomly modulated soliton, and a small remainder, and we derive the equations for the modulation parameters. We prove in addition that the first order part of the remainder converges, as ε tends to zero, to a Gaussian process, which satisfies an additively perturbed linear equation.  相似文献

We study the dynamics along the particle trajectories for the 3D axisymmetric Euler equations. In particular, by rewriting the system of equations we find that there exists a complex Riccati type of structure in the system on the whole of R3, which generalizes substantially the previous results in [5] (D. Chae, On the blow-up problem for the axisymmetric 3D Euler equations, Nonlinearity 21 (2008) 2053-2060). Using this structure of equations, we deduce the new blow-up criterion that the radial increment of pressure is not consistent with the global regularity of classical solution. We also derive a much more refined version of the Lagrangian dynamics than that of [6] (D. Chae, On the Lagrangian dynamics for the 3D incompressible Euler equations, Comm. Math. Phys. 269 (2) (2007) 557-569) in the case of axisymmetry.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a parabolic equation with a non-local term defined on a compact two-dimensional Riemannian surface Ω. If the total mass of the solution, λ, is equal to 8π and Ω is the standard sphere S2, it is a Hamilton’s normalized Ricci flow. We obtain the global in time existence of the solution to this problem for 0<λ≤8π. If 0<λ<8π, the orbit is compact while for λ=8π, there is a time sequence along which the solution converges to a stationary solution.  相似文献
