Composite material silica gel microspheres encapsulated by salicylic acid functionalized polystyrene(SG–PS–azo–SA) have been synthesized, and the dynamic adsorption and desorption properties of this silica gel matrix inorganic–organic composite material for Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III) have been investigated. The results displayed that SG–PS–azo–SA had excellent adsorption for Cu(II), and the film diffusion dominated the adsorption process of SG–PS–azo–SA for Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III). These metal ions could be desorbed with the eluent solution of 2.5 mol/L HCl, 3% thiourea in 0.5 mol/L HCl, and 0.5% thiourea in 1 mol/L HCl, respectively. When the elution was carried out for 30 min, 30 min, and 132 min, the desorption ratio ω could reach 91.1%, 99.4%, and 60.84%, respectively. Thus, silica gel encapsulated by polystyrene coupled with salicylic acid (SG–PS–azo–SA) is favorable and useful for the removal of metal ions Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III), and the high adsorption capacity make it a promising candidate material for the metal ions removal.  相似文献

In this paper, zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 modified by the ethanediamine (NH2-ZIF-8) was employed for adsorbing Au (III) and Ag(I) from aqueous solutions. The adsorption capacities of NH2-ZIF-8 towards Au (III) and Ag(I) were found to be significantly affected by the pH values of the solution. The adsorption kinetics studies show that NH2-ZIF-8 presents a fast adsorption property towards metals, attaining 93% of adsorption equilibrium uptake for Au (III) within the first 30 min. This phenomenon can be ascribed to the coordination interaction between the amino group and Au (III). The thermodynamic data suggest that the adsorption of NH2-ZIF-8 towards Au (III) is endothermic process, while that for Ag(I) is exothermic. The maximum adsorption capacities of NH2-ZIF-8 toward Au (III) and Ag(I) can be achieved to 357 mg·g−1 and 222.25 mg·g−1, respectively. The metal ions interference results show that Cu (II) and Ni (II) hardly have no interference on Au (III) adsorption in e-waste containing 1500 mg·l−1 Cu (II),100 mg·l−1 Ni (II) and 10 mg·l−1 Au (III); while for Ag(I), Cd (II) and Zn (II) have little interference on Ag(I) adsorption in the hybrid solutions containing Ag(I), Ni (II), Cd (II) and Zn (II) with equal concentration (50 mg·l−1), but Ni (II) interference most. The XPS study shows that partial Au (III) was reduced to Au(I), and that Ag(I) was completely reduced to Ag(0) during the adsorption process. The abundant of active sites of NH2-ZIF-8 containing C=N, N-H, and Zn-OH groups play a key role in the adsorption of Au (III) and Ag(I). In addition, electrostatic interaction can be responsible for the adsorption of Au (III) by NH2-ZIF-8. The regeneration experiments results show that the adsorption capacities of NH2-ZIF-8 towards Au (III) and Ag(I) can maintain after three cycles. This work provides a reliable method to improve the adsorption kinetics for metal ions.  相似文献

Thiol-functionalized Fe3O4/SiO2 microspheres (Fe3O4/SiO2-SH) with high saturation magnetization (69.3 emu g–1), superparamagnetism, and good dispersibility have been prepared by an ethylene glycol reduction method in combination with a modified Stöber method. The as-prepared composite magnetic spheres are characterized with fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), zeta potential, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and superconducting quantum interference magnetometer, and tested in separation of Au(III) ions from aqueous solutions. The data for Au(III) adsorption on Fe3O4/SiO2-SH are analyzed with the Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm models, and the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion kinetics models. The adsorption behaviors of Au(III) on Fe3O4/SiO2-SH follow the Langmuir isotherm model, and the adsorption process conforms to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacity of Au(III) on Fe3O4/SiO2-SH is 43.7 mg g–1. Acetate anions play an important role yet Cu(II) ions have little interference in the adsorption of Au(III) on the adsorbent. A satisfactory recovery percentage of 89.5% is acquired by using an eluent with 1 M thiourea and 5% HCl, although thiols have a high affinity to Au(III) ions based on the hard-soft acid-base (HSAB) theory by Pearson.  相似文献

Acrylamide based monomer, 5-methyl-2-thiozyl methacrylamide (MTMAAm) was synthesized by the reaction of 2-Amino-5-methyl thiazole with methacryloyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine(NR3) at 0–5°C. The monomer MTMAAm was characterized by FT-IR and 1H-and 13C-NMR spectral studies. A new chelating resin, poly(5-methyl-2-thiozyl methacrylamide-co-2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid-co-divinylbenzene) [MTMAAm/AMPS/DVB] was synthesized. This resin was characterized by FT-IR. In order to determine the adsorption behavior of chelating resin, the adsorption isotherm of Cr(III) and Cu(II) were studied. It was found that the adsorption isotherm of the ions fitted with Langmuir-type isotherms. From the Langmuir equation, the adsorption capacity of chelating resin for Cr(III) and Cu(II) was found to be 7.77 mg g? 1 and 4.27 mg g? 1, respectively. Binding equilibrium constant was calculated to be 0.155 L mg? 1 and 0.106 L mg? 1 for Cu(II) and Cr(III), respectively.  相似文献

Three novel solid phase extraction agents were developed by functionalising sub-micron sized silica gel with organic functional moieties possessing {SN}-ligating atoms. The extractors were characterised by FTIR and TGA. Their capability of adsorbing the ions Fe(III), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Cr(VI), Hg(II), Pb(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Ag(I) is described. The extractors show pH-tunable selectivity for Ag(I) and/or Pb(II). By adjusting the pH to 5 or 6, high affinity is found for both Ag(I) and Pb(II), with little or no interference by the other metal ions. At pH values of <2, the extractors become highly selective for Ag(I), with an adsorption capacity of 35 mg g?1. Little mechanical stirring is required due to the size of the particles. The recovery rates for both Ag(I) and Pb(II) were better 90% even after five repetitive adsorption-desorption cycles.  相似文献

Silica gel was firstly functionalized with aminopropyltrimethoxysilane obtaining the aminopropylsilica gel (APSG). The APSG was reacted subsequently with curcumin yielding curcumin-bonded silica gel (curcumin-APSG). This new bonded silica gel was used for separation, pre-concentration and determination of Cu(II), Fe(III), Zn(II) in biological and natural water samples by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of metal ions were optimized with respect to different experimental parameters using batch and column procedures in detail. The optimum pH value for the separation of metal ions simultaneously on the newly sorbent was 4.0. Complete elution of the adsorbed metal ions from the sorbent surface was carried out using 2.0 mL of 0.1 mol L− 1 of HCl. Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination at pH 4.0. The maximum static adsorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 0.63, 0.46 and 0.37 mmol g− 1 for Cu(II), Fe(III) and Zn(II) respectively. The time for 95% sorption for Cu(II) Fe(III) and Zn(II) was less than 2 min. The detection limits of the method defined by IUPAC was found to be 0.12, 0.15 and 0.40 ng mL− 1 for Cu(II), Fe(III) and Zn(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method under optimum conditions was lower 3.0% (n = 5). The procedure was validated by analyzing the certified reference river sediment material (GBW 08301, China), the results obtained were in good agreement with standard values. This sorbent was successfully employed in the separation and pre-concentration of trace Cu(II), Fe(III) and Zn(II) from the biological and natural water samples yielding 75-fold concentration factor.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol groups attached on a silica gel surface have been used for adsorption of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) from aqueous solutions. The adsorption capacities for each metal ion were (in mmol.g?1): Cd(II)= 0.35, Co(II)= 0.10, Cu(II)= 0.15, Fe(III)= 0.20, Hg(II)= 0.46, Ni(II)= 0.16, Pb(II)= 0.13 and Zn(II)= 0.15. The modified silica gel was applied in the preconcentration and quantification of trace level metal ions present in water samples (river, and bog water).  相似文献

The adsorption of Cu(II) ions onto the chitosan derived Schiff bases obtained from the condensation of chitosan with salicyaldehyde (polymer I), 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (polymer II) and with 4-(diethylamino) salicyaldehyde (polymer III) in aqueous solutions was investigated. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out as a function of contact time, pH, and polymer mass. The amount of metal-ion uptake of the polymers was determined by using atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and the highest Cu(II) ions uptake was achieved at pH 7.0 and by using sodium perchlorate as an ionic strength adjuster for polymers I, II, and III. The isothermal behavior and the kinetics of adsorption of Cu(II) ions on these polymers with respect to the initial mass of the polymer and temperature were also investigated; adsorption isothermal equilibrium data could be clearly explained by the Langmuir equation. The experimental data of the adsorption equilibrium from Cu(II) solution correlates well with the Langmuir isotherm equation.  相似文献

A silica gel based sorbent containing rhodanine as functional group (RDSG) was prepared. Its adsorption and separation characteristics for Ag(I), Au(III) and Pd(II) were studied by flow-injection (FI) on-line preconcentration. Influence of different experimental parameters such as acidity, eluent, co-existing ions were investigated. Trace amounts of Ag, Au and Pd could be efficiently adsorbed by rhodanine-bonded silica gel from acidic solution and eluted with thiourea solution. Common co-existing ions exhibited virtually no interference to the preconcentration and determination. The adsorption capacity of RDSG was 0.0352, 0.107 and 0.122 mmol/g for Ag, Au and Pd, respectively. Detection limits of 0.004, 0.022 and 0.019 μg/mL for Ag, Au and Pd, respectively, were achieved with a sampling time of 60 s at a flow rate of 5.0 mL/min. The relative standard deviation were 0.5%, 0.9% and 1.7% for 0.040 μg/mL Ag, 0.200 μg/mL Au and 0.300 μg/¶mL Pd. The sorption property did not change after 1000 cycles of sorption-desorption. The contents of Ag and Au in three national certified ore samples and Pd in a secondary nickel alloy, an anode slime and a CoCl2 electrolytic solution were determined. The results showed good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

Adsorption of chromium from aqueous solution using chitosan beads   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A basic investigation on the removal of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solution by chitosan beads was conducted in a batch adsorption system. The chitosan beads were prepared by casting an acidic chitosan solution into an alkaline solution. The influence of different experimental parameters; pH, agitation period and different concentration of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) ions was evaluated. A pH 5.0 was found to be an optimum pH for Cr(III) adsorption, and meanwhile pH 3.0 was the optimum pH for the adsorption of Cr(VI) onto chitosan beads. The Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm models were applied to describe the isotherms and isotherm constants for the adsorption of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) onto chitosan beads. Results indicated that Cr(III) and Cr(VI) uptake could be described by the Langmuir adsorption model. The maximum adsorption capacities of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) ions onto chitosan beads were 30.03 and 76.92 mg g−1, respectively. Results showed that chitosan beads are favourable adsorbents. The Cr(III) and Cr(VI) ions can be removed from the chitosan beads by treatment with an aqueous EDTA solution.  相似文献

The sorption behavior of a newly synthesized silica gel sorbent with thioetheric sites (STS) towards microgram levels of Au(III), Pt(IV) and Pd(II) was studied. Au(III) is quantitatively (>95%) sorbed in the pH region of 1–9. The sorption of Pt(IV) starts at pH 1 and does not exceed 25% in the entire pH region examined. The sorption of Pd(II) starts at pH 7 and reaches 80% at pH 9. The sorption of Au(III) on STS at pH 1 is not affected by milligram amounts of Ni(II), Zn(II), Fe(III), Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II) or Co(II). Au(III) is quantitatively eluted with a 5% aqueous solution of thiourea. The adsorption capacity of STS towards Au(III) is 195 mg g−1. The detection limit (DL) of Au(III) (3σ, n = 9) is 25 ng mL−1. The RSD at a level of 10 × DL is about 2%. Solid-phase extraction of trace amounts of Au(III) on the STS sorbent, followed by its flame AAS determination in the eluate was applied to the determination of gold in geological samples. The results obtained for the gold content in the samples were in good agreement with those of the ICP-AES analysis.  相似文献

Several studies involving the physicochemical interaction of three silica based hybrid mesoporous materials with metal ions of the group IB have been performed in order to employ them for preconcentration purposes in the determination of traces of Cu(II), Ag(I) and Au(III). The three solids were obtained from mesoporous silica functionalized with 3-aminopropyl (APS), 3-mercaptopropyl (MPS) and N-[2-aminoethyl]-3-aminopropyl (NN) groups, respectively. Adsorption capacities for Au, Cu and Ag were calculated using Langmuir's isotherm model and then, the optimal values for the retention of each element onto each one of the solids were found. Physicochemical data obtained under thermodynamic equilibrium and under kinetic conditions - imposed by flow through experiments - allowed the design of simple analytical methodologies where the solids were employed as fillings of microcolumns held in continuous systems coupled on-line to an atomic absorption spectrometry. In order to control the interaction between the filling and the analyte at short times (flow through conditions) and thus, its effect on the analytical signal and the presence of interferences, the initial adsorption velocities were calculated using the pseudo second order model. All these experiments allowed the comparison of the solids in terms of their analytical behaviour at the moment of facing the determination of the three elements.Under optimized conditions mainly given by the features of the filling, the analytical methodologies developed in this work showed excellent performances with limits of detection of 0.14, 0.02 and 0.025 μg L−1 and RSD % values of 3.4, 2.7 and 3.1 for Au, Cu and Ag, respectively.A full discussion of the main findings on the interaction metal ions/fillings will be provided. The analytical results for the determination of the three metals will be also presented.  相似文献

p-Toluenesulfonylamide was immobilized on silica gel and on nm-sized silicium dioxide (SiO2). Their adsorption efficiency toward metal ions was investigated by the batch equilibrium technique. Although silica gel and nm-SiO2 have the same composition (silicon and oxygen), the difference in their sizes and surface structures results in distinct chemical activity and selectivity. At pH 4, the adsorption capacity of modified silica gel adsorbent was found to be 4.9, 5.0, 33.2, and 12.6 mg g−1 for Cr(III), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II), respectively. However, the adsorption capacity of nm-SiO2 adsorbent toward Cr(III) was 26.7 mg g−1 under ultrasonic dispersing. The potential application of p-toluenesulfonylamide-modified silica gel for simultaneous preconcentration of trace chromium, copper, lead and zinc from two standard reference materials and two food samples was performed with satisfactory results. The functional group capacity and the percentage of functional group conversion of crosslinked polystyrene resin bearing N-methyl-2-thioimidazole (MTIR) synthesized under optimum conditions are as high as 4.08 mmol/g resin and 96.0%, respectively. The apparent activation energies of sorption of MTIR for Au(III) and Pt(IV) are 13.1 and 13.4 kJ/mol, respectively. The sorption behavior of MTIR for Au(III), Pt(IV), and Pd(II) obeys the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms. The sorption capacities of MTIR for Au(III), Pt(IV), and Pd(II) are as high as 4.33, 2.12, and 2.33 mmol/g resin, respectively. Au(III), Pt(IV), and Pd(II) adsorbed on MTIR can be eluted quantitatively by the eluant. The resin can be regenerated easily and reused without an obvious decrease in the sorption capacity for Au(III) and Pd(II). The resin has high sorption selectivity for noble metal ions. Au(III) can be separated quantitatively in the presence of high concentrations of Cu2+, Fe3+, Ni2+, and Mn2+. The recovery of platinum from the spent industrial catalysts is 98.6% by MTIR. The preconcentration and separation of palladium and platinum from the anode deposits of electrolysis of crude copper have been investigated. The resin may have potential industrial uses.  相似文献

A novel kind of adsorbent bead was prepared from chitosan (CS) by ionic‐linked with sodium phytate (SP) and then covalent cross‐linked with epichlorohydrin (ECH) by nonsolvent‐induced phase separation. The structure of the beads was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The adsorption properties of the beads for Cu(II) ions under different adsorption conditions were investigated. The maximum adsorption capacity of Cu(II) ions was 177.1 mg g−1 at the conditions of pH of 5.2, temperature of 50°C, and initial Cu(II) ion concentration of 728.3 mg L−1. The adsorption isotherm of Cu(II) ions on the CS/SP/ECH beads was well correlated with the Langmuir isotherm model, and the whole adsorption process could be better followed the pseudo‐second‐order kinetic model. Moreover, the CS/SP/ECH beads still exhibited good adsorption capacity even after the 15th regeneration cycles.  相似文献

The nature of adsorption behavior of Au(III) on polyurethane (PUR) foam was studied in 0.2M HCl aqueous solution. The effect of shaking time and amount of adsorbent were optimized for 3.16·10−5M solution of Au(III) in 0.2M HCl. The classical Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms have been employed successfully. The Freundlich parameters 1/n and adsorption capacityK are 0.488±0.016 and (1.40±0.22)·10−2 mol·g−1, respectively. The Langmuir constants of saturation capacityM and binding energyb are (1.66±0.08)·10−4mol·g−1 and 40294±2947 l·g−1, respectively, indicating the monolayer chemical sorption. The mean free energy (E) of adsorption of Au(III) on PUR foam has been evaluated using D-R isotherm and found to be 11.5±0.16 kJ·mol−1 reflecting the ion exchange type of chemical adsorption. The effect of temperature on the adsorption has also been studied. the isosteric heat of adsorption was found to be 44.03±1.66 kJ·mol−1. The thermodynamic parameters of ΔG, ΔH, ΔS and equilibrium constantK c have been calculated. The negative values of ΔG, ΔH and ΔS support that the adsorption of Au(III) on PUR foam is spontaneous, exothermic and of ion exchange chemisorption. The nature of the Au(III) species sorbed on PUR foam have been discussed.  相似文献

An indigenously prepared zinc chloride activated Ipomoea carnea (morning glory), a low-cost and abundant adsorbent, was used for removal of Cu(II) ions from aqueous solutions in a batch adsorption system. The chemical activating agent ZnCl2 was dissolved in deionised water and then added to the adsorbent in two different ratios 1:1 and 1:0.5 adsorbent to activating agent ratio by weight. Studies were conducted as a function of contact time, initial metal concentration, dose of adsorbent, and pH. Activated Ipomoea carnea (AIC) were characterised using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), iodine number and methylene blue number. High iodine numbers indicates development of micro pores with zinc chloride activation. Maximum adsorption was noted within pH range 6.0(±0.05). Adsorption process is fast initially and reaches equilibrium after about 4 hours. The kinetic data were analysed using pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model was found to agree well with the experimental data. Adsorption equilibrium data were analyzed using Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The Langmuir model represented the sorption process better than the Freundlich model. Based on the Langmuir isotherm, the monolayer adsorption capacity of Cu(II) ions was 7.855 mg?g?1 for AIC (1:1) and 6.934 mg?g?1 for AIC (1:0.5).  相似文献

Corn stalk-based adsorbents modified from corn stalk were prepared by Cu(0)-mediated reversible-deactivation radical polymerization (Cu(0)-mediated RDRP). They were applied to remove metal ions and they exhibited good adsorption capacity, especially for Hg(II). Adsorption properties of corn stalk can be enhanced by introducing cyano, amino, amidoxime, and carboxyl groups onto its surface, which results in efficient adsorbents for different metal ions. TGA, SEM, EA, and FTIR analyses were employed to characterize the structures of corn stalk-graft-polyacrylonitrile (CS-g-PAN), corn stalk-graft-polyacrylamide (CS-g-PAM), amidoxime corn stalk-graft-polyacrylonitrile (AO CS-g-PAN) and carboxyl corn stalk-graft-poly(methyl acrylate) (CO CS-g-PMA). The maximum adsorption capacity for Hg(II) was 8.06 mmol g?1 of AO CS-g-PAN. Kinetics of the Hg(II) adsorption on AO CS-g-PAN was found to follow the pseudo-second-order model and the adsorption isotherms were well fitted with the Freundlich isotherm model.  相似文献
