The magnetic nanoparticles of La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 perovskite manganite with a controlled size were prepared via sol–gel procedure, followed by thermal treatment and subsequent mechanical processing of the resulting raw product. The prepared materials were structurally studied by the XRD and TEM methods and probed by DC magnetic measurements. The nanoparticles of the mean crystallite sizes 11–40 nm exhibit T C in the range of ≈310–347 K and the sample possessing 20-nm crystallites was identified as the most suitable for hyperthermia experiments. In order to obtain a colloidally stable suspension and prevent toxic effects, the selected magnetic cores were further encapsulated into silica shell using tetraethoxysilane. The detailed magnetic studies were focused on the comparison of the raw product, the bare nanoparticles after mechanical processing and the silica-coated nanoparticles, dealing also with effects of size distribution and magnetic interactions. The heating experiments were carried out in an AC field of frequencies 100 kHz–1 MHz and amplitude 3.0–8.9 kA m−1 on water dispersions of the samples, and the generated heat was deduced from their warming rate taking into account experimentally determined thermal losses into surroundings. The experiments demonstrate that the heating efficiency of the coated nanoparticles is generally higher than that of the bare magnetic cores. It is also shown that the aggregation of the bare nanoparticles increases heating efficiency at least in a certain concentration range.  相似文献

Single-crystal (100) and (001) TiO2 rutile substrates have been implanted with 40 keV Fe+ at room temperature with high doses in the range of (0.5–1.5) × 1017 ions/cm2. A ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) signal has been observed for all samples with the intensity and the out-of-plane anisotropy increasing with the implantation dose. The FMR signal has been related to the formation of a percolated metal layer consisting of close-packed iron nanoparticles in the implanted region of TiO2 substrate. Electron spin resonance (ESR) signal of paramagnetic Fe3+ ions substituting Ti4+ positions in the TiO2 rutile structure has been also observed. The dependences of FMR resonance fields on the DC magnetic field orientation reveal a strong in-plane anisotropy for both (100) and (001) substrate planes. An origin of the in-plane anisotropy of FMR signal is attributed to the textured growth of the iron nanoparticles. As result of the nanoparticle growth aligned with respect to the structure of the rutile host, the in-plane magnetic anisotropy of the samples reflects the symmetry of the crystal structure of the TiO2 substrates. Crystallographic directions of the preferential growth of iron nanoparticles have been determined by computer modeling of anisotropic ESR signal of substitutional Fe3+ ions.  相似文献

A comparative investigation of the magnetic properties of amorphous nanogranular composites (Co41Fe39B20) x (SiO n )100 − x and (Co86Nb12Ta2) x (SiO n )100 − x has been performed in the subpercolation region at temperatures in the range 4.2–300 K. The thermomagnetic dependences in the range 4.2–300 K and the processes of magnetization reversal and remanent magnetization relaxation at liquid-helium temperatures have been studied. It has been established that the average anisotropy constants of amorphous nanograins are equal to 3.6–7.0 kJ/m3 for the (Co41Fe39B20) x (SiO n )100 − x composites and 5–8 kJ/m3 for the (Co86Nb12Ta2) x (SiO n )100 − x composites. The fundamental differences in the concentration dependences of the anisotropy constant K eff and the coercive force H C have been revealed for the two systems under investigation. It has been demonstrated that, as the concentration of the metal phase increases, the quantities K eff and H C increase for the (Co86Nb12Ta2) x (SiO n )100 − x composites and decrease for the (Co41Fe39B20) x (SiO n )100 − x composites.  相似文献

In this work, we report on the magnetic properties of nickel nanoparticles (NP) in a SiO2–C thin film matrix, prepared by a polymeric precursor method, with Ni content x in the 0–10 wt% range. Microstructural analyses of the films showed that the Ni NP are homogenously distributed in the SiO2–C matrix and have spherical shape with average diameter of ~10 nm. The magnetic properties reveal features of superparamagnetism with blocking temperatures T B ~ 10 K. The average diameter of the Ni NP, estimated from magnetization measurements, was found to be ~4 nm for the x = 3 wt% Ni sample, in excellent agreement with X-ray diffraction data. M versus H hysteresis loops indicated that the Ni NP are free from a surrounding oxide layer. We have also observed that coercivity (H C) develops appreciably below T B, and follows the H C ∝ [1 – (T/T B)0.5] relationship, a feature expected for randomly oriented and non-interacting nanoparticles. The extrapolation of H C to 0 K indicates that coercivity decreases with increasing x, suggesting that dipolar interactions may be relevant in films with x > 3 wt% Ni.  相似文献

The layered LiNi0.5Mn0.47Al0.03O2 was synthesized by wet chemical method and characterized by X-ray diffraction and analysis of magnetic measurements. The powders adopted the α-NaFeO2 structure. This substitution of Al for Mn promotes the formation of Li(Ni0.472+Ni0.033+Mn0.474+Al0.033+)O2 structures and induces an increase in the average oxidation state of Ni, thereby leading to the shrinkage of the lattice unit cell. The concentration of antisite defects in which Ni2+ occupies the (3a) Li lattice sites in the Wyckoff notation has been estimated from the ferromagnetic Ni2+(3a)–Mn4+(3b) pairing observed below 140 K. The substitution of 3% Al for Mn reduces the amount of antisite defects from 7% to 6.4–6.5%. The analysis of the magnetic properties in the paramagnetic phase in the framework of the Curie–Weiss law agrees well with the combination of Ni2+ (S = 1), Ni3+ (S = 1/2) and Mn4+ (S = 3/2) spin-only values. Delithiation has been made by the use of K2S2O8. According to this process, known to be softer than the electrochemical one, the nickel ions in the (3b) sites are converted into Ni4+ in the high spin configuration, while Ni2+(3a)–Mn4+(3b) ferromagnetic pairs remain, as the Li+(3b) ions linked to the Ni2+(3a) ions in the antisite defects are not removed. The results show that the antisite defect is surrounded by Mn4+ ions, implying the nonuniform distribution of the cations in agreement with previous NMR and neutron experiments.  相似文献

High-energy ball milling has been shown to be a promising method for the fabrication of rare earth—transition metal nanopowders. In this work, NdCo5 nanoflakes and nanoparticles have been produced by a two-stage high-energy ball milling (HEBM), by first using wet HEBM to prepare precursor nanocrystalline powders followed by surfactant-assisted HEBM. NdCo5 flakes have a thickness below 150 nm and an aspect ratio as high as 102–103; the nanoparticles have an average size of 7 nm. Both the nanoparticles and nano-flakes exhibited high coercivities at low temperatures, with values at 50 K of 3 and 3.7 kOe, respectively. The high values of coercivity can be attributed to the large surface anisotropy of nanoparticles that leads to an effective uniaxial-type of behavior in contrast to the planar anisotropy of the bulk samples. Angle-dependent magnetization measurements at different temperatures were used to determine the spin reorientation transitions in the nanopowders and nanoparticles. The nanoparticles showed spin reorientation temperatures, T SR1 = 276 and T SR2 = 237 K which are lower when compared with the values of 290 and 245 K, respectively for bulk.  相似文献

Magnetic and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) properties of EuFe3(BO3)4 single crystals have been studied over the temperature range of 300–4.2 K and in a magnetic field up to 5 T. The temperature, field and orientation dependences of susceptibility, magnetization and EPR spectra are presented. An antiferromagnetic ordering of the Fe subsystem occurs at about 37 K. The easy direction of magnetization perpendicular to the c axis is determined by magnetic measurements. Below 10 K, we observe an increase of susceptibility connected with the polarization of the Eu sublattice by an effective exchange field of the ordered Fe magnetic subsystem. In a magnetic field perpendicular to the c axis, we have observed an increase of magnetization at T < 10 K in the applied magnetic field, which can be attributed to the appearance of the magnetic moment induced by the magnetic field applied in the basal plane. According to EPR measurements, the distance between the maximum and minimum of derivative of absorption line of the Lorentz type is equal to 319 Gs. The anisotropy of g-factor and linewidth is due to the influence of crystalline field of trigonal symmetry. The peculiarities of temperature dependence of both intensity and linewidth are caused by the influence of excited states of europium ion (Eu3+). It is supposed that the difference between the g-factors from EPR and the magnetic measurements is caused by exchange interaction between rare earth and Fe subsystems via anomalous Zeeman effect.  相似文献

Optical absorption spectra of trigonal crystal TbFe3(BO3)4 have been studied in the region of 7F65D4 transition in Tb3+ ion depending on temperature (2–220 K) and on magnetic field (0–60 kOe). Splitting of the Tb3+ excited states, both under the influence of the external magnetic field and effective exchange field of the Fe-sublattice, have been determined. Landé factors of the excited states have been found. Stepwise splitting of one of the absorption lines has been discovered in the region of the Fe-sublattice magnetic ordering temperature. This is shown to be due to the abrupt change of equilibrium geometry of the local Tb3+ ion environment only in the excited state of the Tb3+ ion. In general, the magnetic ordering is accompanied by temperature variations of the Tb3+ local environment in the excited states. The crystal field splitting components have been identified. In particular, it has been shown that the ground state (in D 3 symmetry approximation) consists of two close singlet states of A 1 and A 2 type, which are split and magnetized by effective exchange field of the Fe-sublattice. Orientations of magnetic moments of the excited electronic states relative to that of the ground state have been experimentally determined in the magnetically ordered state of the crystal. A pronounced shift of one of absorption lines has been observed in the vicinity of the TbFe3(BO3)4 structural phase transition. The temperature interval of coexistence of the phases is about 3 K.  相似文献

The electrical properties of a lithium heptagermanate (Li2Ge7O15) crystal have been studied in DC and AC measuring fields at temperatures from 500 to 700 K. In a DC field, a substantial decrease of electrical conductivity σ with time has been detected. On the basis of kinetic dependences σ(t), estimates of the charge carrier diffusion coefficient D have been obtained. In the frequency range 101–105 Hz, the spectra of complex impedance ρ*(f) have been measured. The analysis of diagrams in the complex plane (ρ″–ρ′) has been performed within the equivalent circuit approach. It has been shown that, in the considered temperature and frequency intervals, the electrical properties of Li2Ge7O15 crystals have been determined by the hopping conduction of interstitial lithium ions A Li and accumulation of charge carriers near the blocking Pt electrodes.  相似文献

The crystal and magnetic structure of the perovskite-like, oxygen deficient cobalt oxide YBaCo2O5.5 has been studied by means of neutron and X-ray diffraction in the 10–300 K temperature range. The magnetic ground state is characterized by a coexistence of two distinct antiferromagnetic phases. In the first one, the ionic moments of high-spin Co3+ ions in the pyramidal sites are ordered in a spiral arrangement, while octahedral sites are non-magnetic due to presence of low-spin Co3+ ions. The arrangement in the second phase is collinear of the G-type, with non-zero moments both in pyramidal (high-spin Co3+ ions) and octahedral sites (presumably a mixture of the low- and high-spin states). With increasing temperature, at 260–300 K, the system develops a gradual structural transformation, which is associated with appearance of spontaneous magnetic moment. This process is related to a thermally induced reversion of low- and high-spin states at the octahedral sites to the intermediate-spin Co3+ states, resulting in an insulator-metal transition at TC ≈ TIM ≈ 295 K.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the electrical conductivity and the permittivity of TlInSe2 and TlGaTe2 crystals unirradiated and irradiated with 4-MeV electrons at a doze of 1016 cm−2 have been investigated. It has been established that electron irradiation leads to a decrease in the electrical conductivity σ and the permittivity ɛ over the entire temperature range under study (90–320 K). It has been revealed that the TlInSe2 and TlGaTe2 single crystals undergo a sequence of phase transitions characteristic of crystals of this type, which manifest themselves as anomalies in the temperature dependences σ = f(T) and ɛ = f(T). Electron irradiation at a doze of 1016 cm−2 does not affect the phase transition temperatures of the crystals under investigation.  相似文献

Several weak absorption bands have been observed in the optical absorption spectra of pure and rare-earth-doped YAl3(BO3)4 single crystals in the 3350– 3650 cm−1 wave number region. Two of them, peaking at about 3377 cm−1 and 3580 cm−1 in the 8 K spectra, appear in most of the samples. They are tentatively attributed to the stretching mode of OH ions incorporated in the crystal during the growth. An additional absorption band at about 5250 cm−1 at 8 K has also been detected in almost all samples. The temperature and polarization dependences of these bands, and their possible origin, are discussed.  相似文献

Spectral dependences of the relative permittivity ɛ = ɛ1iɛ2 of a uniaxial weak ferromagnet FeBO3 are measured for two principal polarizations in the energy range 0.6–5.6 eV. The positions have been determined for the charge-transfer transitions that make the main contribution to absorption above the bandgap and determine the refractive-index dispersion below the bandgap. The isotropic magnetic contribution to the refractive index has been detected by studying the temperature dependence of the refractive index in the range 100–700 K; its value (≈2 × 10−2) is found to be record high for magnetic dielectrics. The energy shift of the effective oscillator, which characterizes the shift of the positions of the charge-transfer transitions due to magnetic ordering, is determined from these data within the framework of a single-oscillator model. The value of the exchange striction in FeBO3 is determined from optical measurements.  相似文献

The results of neutron diffraction studies of the La0.70Sr0.30MnO2.85 compound and its behavior in an external magnetic field are stated. It is established that in the 4–300 K temperature range, two structural perovskite phases coexist in the sample, which differ in symmetry (groups R[`3]cR\bar 3c and I4/mcm). The reason for the phase separation is the clustering of oxygen vacancies. The temperature (4–300 K) and field (0–140 kOe) dependences of the specific magnetic moment are measured. It is found that in zero external field, the magnetic state of La0.70Sr0.30MnO2.85 is a cluster spin glass, which is the result of frustration of Mn3+-O-Mn3+ exchange interactions. An increase in external magnetic field up to 10 kOe leads to fragmentation of ferromagnetic clusters and then to an increase in the degree of polarization of local spins of manganese and the emergence of long-range ferromagnetic order. With increasing magnetic field up to 140 kOe, the magnetic ordering temperature reaches 160 K. The causes of the structural and magnetic phase separation of this composition and formation mechanism of its spin-glass magnetic state are analyzed.  相似文献

Single crystals of gadolinium orthosilicate Gd2SiO5 containing 0.5 at% and 5 at% of Sm3+ were grown by the Czochralski method. Optical absorption spectra, luminescence spectra and luminescence decay curves were recorded for these systems at 10 K and at room temperature. Comparison of optical spectra recorded in polarized light revealed that the anisotropy of this optically biaxial host affects the intensity distribution within absorption and emission bands related to transitions between multiplets rather than the overall band intensity. It has been found that among four bands of luminescence related to the 4G5/26HJ (J=5/2–11/2) transitions of Sm3+ in the visible and near infrared region the 4G5/26H7/2 one has the highest intensity with a peak emission cross section of 3.54×10−21 cm2 at 601 nm for light polarized parallel to the crystallographic axis c of the crystal. The luminescence decay curve recorded for Gd2SiO5:0.5 at% Sm3+ follows a single exponential time dependence with a lifetime 1.74 ms, in good agreement with the 4G5/2 radiative lifetime τ rad=1.78 ms calculated in the framework of Judd-Ofelt theory. Considerably faster and non-exponential luminescence decay recorded for Gd2SiO5:5 at% Sm3+ sample was fitted to that predicted by the Inokuti-Hirayama theory yielding the microparameter of Sm3+–Sm3+ energy transfer C da=1.264×10−52 cm6×s−1.  相似文献

The local structure of the chemical bond of iron ions implanted into SiO2 glasses (implantation energy, 100 keV; fluence, 1 × 1016 cm?2) is investigated using x-ray emission and absorption spectroscopy. The Fe L x-ray emission and absorption spectra are analyzed by comparing them with the corresponding spectra of reference samples. It is established that iron nanoparticles implanted into the SiO2 vitreous matrix are in an oxidized state. The assumption is made that the most probable mechanism of transformation of iron nanoparticles into an oxidized state during implantation involves the breaking of Si-O-Si bonds with the formation of Si-Si and Fe-O bonds.  相似文献

With a view to study the structural, electronic, magnetic, and electrical properties of Zn0.9Ni0.1O diluted magnetic semiconductor nanoparticles, systematic investigation has been undertaken. Samples were prepared for the first time by hydrazine-assisted polyol method, and the powders were annealed at various temperatures in order to obtain the samples with different grain sizes. From the Rietveld refined XRD data, lattice parameters, the average crystallite size values, and r.m.s micro-strain values were computed. From the AFM and TEM studies, the average particle sizes were obtained and are found to be in the range 12–46 nm. XPS measurements clearly indicate that the chemical states as +2 for both Zn and Ni ions and are stable with varying annealing temperature. Further, using XPS and optical studies, the electronic structure of the materials was analyzed. A careful phase analysis of the Rietveld refined XRD data (at logarithmic scale) selected area electron diffraction patterns, FTIR, Raman, and XPS studies; it was concluded that all the samples are having hexagonal wurtzite structure without any detectable impurity phases. The optical band gap values are found to exhibit a clear blue shift. The influence of oxygen vacancies on the emission spectra was studied by Photo Luminescence measurement. The magnetization studies were undertaken by VSM, MFM, and FMR techniques and confirmed the presence of clear room temperature ferromagnetism without any magnetic clusters. The carrier concentration (n) values obtained from the thermo power studies are found to decrease with increasing annealing temperature and depend on the local defects which are critically influenced by the annealing temperature and crystallite size of the nanomaterials.  相似文献

The dependences of the electrical resistivity ρ and the Hall coefficient R on the magnetic field have been measured for single-crystal samples of the n-Bi0.93Sb0.07 semiconductor alloys with electron concentrations in the range 1 × 1016 cm−3 < n < 2 × 1018 cm−3. It has been found that the measured dependences exhibit Shubnikov-de Haas quantum oscillations. The magnetic fields corresponding to the maxima of the quantum oscillations of the electrical resistivity are in good agreement with the calculated values of the magnetic fields in which the Landau quantum level with the number N intersects the Fermi level. The quantum oscillations of the Hall coefficient with small numbers are characterized by a significant spin splitting. In a magnetic field directed along the trigonal axis, the quantum oscillations of the resistivity ρ and the Hall coefficient R are associated with electrons of the three-valley semiconductor and are in phase with the magnetic field. In the case of a magnetic field directed parallel to the binary axis, the quantum oscillations associated both with electrons of the secondary ellipsoids in weaker magnetic fields and with electrons of the main ellipsoid in strong magnetic fields (after the overflow of electrons from the secondary ellipsoids to the main ellipsoid) are also in phase. In magnetic fields of the quantum limit ħω c /2 ≥ E F, the electrical conductivity increases with an increase in the magnetic field: σ22(H) ∼ H k . A theoretical evaluation of the exponent in this expression for a nonparabolic semiconductor leads to values of k close to the experimental values in the range 4 ≤ k ≤ 4.6, which were obtained for samples of the semiconductor alloys with different electron concentrations. A further increase in the magnetic field results in a decrease of the exponent k and in the transition to the inequality σ22(H) ≤ σ21(H).  相似文献

We have studied photoluminescence and thermoluminescence (PL and TL) in CaGa2Se4:Eu crystals in the temperature range 77–400 K. We have established that broadband photoluminescence with maximum at 571 nm is due to intracenter transitions 4f6 5d–4f7 (8S7/2) of the Eu2+ ions. From the temperature dependence of the intensity (log I–103/T), we determined the activation energy (E a = 0.04 eV) for thermal quenching of photoluminescence. From the thermoluminescence spectra, we determined the trap depths: 0.31, 0.44, 0.53, 0.59 eV. The lifetime of the excited state 4f6 5d of the Eu2+ ions in the CaGa2Se4 crystal found from the luminescence decay kinetics is 3.8 μsec. The [N(CH3)4][N(C2H5)4]ZnCl4 compound has been synthesized by a solution-based chemical method. The X-ray diffraction study at room temperature revealed an orthorhombic system with P21212 space group. The complex impedance has been investigated in the temperature and frequency ranges 420–520 K and 200 Hz–5 MHz, respectively. The grain interior and grain boundary contribution to the electrical response in the material have been identified. Dielectric data were analyzed using the complex electrical modulus M * for the sample at various temperature. The modulus plots can be characterized by full width at half height or in terms of a non-exponential decay function ϕ(t) = exp[(−t/τ) β ]. The detailed conductivity study indicated that the electrical conduction in the material is a thermally activated process. The variation of the AC conductivity with frequency at different temperatures obeys the Almond and West universal law.  相似文献
