Norm inequalities for fractional powers of positive operators   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
It is shown that ifA, B andX are operators on a Hilbert space such thatA andB are positive andX belongs to a norm ideal associated with some unitarily invariant norm |·|, then for 0 r 1 we have |A r XB r | |X|1-r |AXB| r . This is an extension of the classical Heinz-Kato inequality which was originally proved for the usual operator norm. Other related inequalities are also discussed.  相似文献

We give a simplified construction of twist eating configurations, based on a theorem due to Frobenius. These configurations are defined through the equation:U U U + U + =exp(2in /N) withU SU(N), =1 tod andn an antisymmetric matrix with integer entries. In the (Twisted)-Eguchi-Kawai model they yield extrema some of which survive forN. Comparison is made with the Monte Carlo data of the internal energy in the small coupling region.  相似文献

Let be an action of a compact abelian groupG on aC*-algebraA, and assume that the fixed-point subalgebraA is an AF-algebra. We show that if is a closed *-derivation onA commuting with , and the restriction of toA generates a one-parameter group of *-automorphisms, then itself is a generator. In particular, the result applies if is an infinite product action ofG on a UHF algebra. Furthermore, if in this situation 1 and 2 are two derivations both satisfying the hypotheses on , and 1 and 2 have the same restriction toA , then there exists a one-parameter subgroup of the action with generator 0 such thatD(1)D(2)D(0) is a joint core for the three derivations, and 2=1+0 on this core.  相似文献

A study is made of instability at frequencies close to the electron cyclotron frequency B and its multiples, subject to the presence of two different groups of electrons. It is shown that a mixture of hot and cold electrons ( ph 2 pc 2 ) in the region of frequencies s B, s2 can be unstable with respect to waves of the flute type (k z=0) with maximum increment max ( ph/pc). B, if there exists an interval of transversal velocities in whichF/ >0. When the curvature of the magnetic field is taken into account, even waves with B can be unstable in such a plasma. The effect of spatial inhomogeneity of the hot component on flute-type instability and on two-beam cyclotron instability is also examined.The author extends his thanks to A. B. We study theE-dependence of the Lyapounov exponent <(E)> of an electron with energyE in the one dimensional Anderson model with off diagonal disorder. In the neighbourhood of the band centre we find for nonzero disorder E)>log–1 E0 forE0, but all even moments of Re(E) diverge logarithmically. As the probability of Re (E)=0 decreases to zero forE0 we conclude that the electron is always exponentially localised.  相似文献

The stability of the three-dimensional multiple-charged soliton solutions to the nonlinear field equations is studied by Lyapunov's method. It is proved that an absolutely stable soliton solution can not exist in any field model. By imposing the subsidiary condition pQi=0 (fixation of charges) we find a sufficient condition for stability of the stationary soliton which includes the inequality k i (Q i / k <0. A collection of new and already known correlation inequalities is found for a family of two-component hypercubic 4 models, using techniques of duplicated variables, rotated correlation inequalities, and random walk representation. We derive asymptotic properties of the propagatorp(r,t) of a continuous-time random walk (CTRW) in which the waiting time density has the asymptotic form(t)T /t +1 whentT and 0<<1. Several cases are considered; the main ones are those that assume that the variance of the displacement in a single step of the walk is finite. Under this assumption we consider both random walks with and without a bias. The principal results of our analysis is that one needs two forms to characterizep(r,t), depending on whetherr is large or small, and that the small-r expansion cannot be characterized by a scaling form, although it is possible to find such a form for larger. Several results can be demonstrated that contrast with the case in which t= 0 ()d is finite. One is that the asymptotic behavior ofp(0,t) is dominated by the waiting time at the origin rather than by the dimension. The second difference is that in the presence of a fieldp(r,t) no longer remains symmetric around a moving peak. Rather, it is shown that the peak of this probability always occurs atr=0, and the effect of the field is to break the symmetry that occurs when t. Finally, we calculate similar properties, although in not such great detail, for the case in which the single-step jump probabilities themselves have an infinite mean.  相似文献

We give a model of the basic Jauch-Piron (JP) approach to quantum physics, i.e., of preparation-question structure (with four basic axioms and without axioms C, P, A), in terms of Ludwig's selection structure; in the latter structure the primitive notion of individual sample of a physical entity is formally described (without making reference to any probability concept). Once we interpret Piron's concept of question in Ludwig's context of a selection structure, we find that there is no difficulty in formalizing notions such as performable together questions; moreover, results such as = or ()= can be formally proved. We develop the theory along the lines of the JP approach; the set of JP propositions is derived and it turns out to be a complete lattice, as happens in Piron's theory, but with a different physical interpretation of the lattice operations. Finally, we study some connections between the standard Ludwig foundation and our approach.  相似文献

Nuclear emulsions were used to study the energy spectrum and forward-backward asymmetry of neutrons from the Co59(p,n) reaction forE p 6·5 MeV. It was found that the decay of the compound nucleus makes a maximum contribution of 50% to the reaction yield. Energies of some excited states of the Ni59 nucleus were also determined.

Among our results we show that forF0, (,e H ) decays exponentially at a rate governed by the positions of the resonances ofH. Let exp(-tA) and exp(-tB) be C 0 contraction semigroups on both K and , where K is a Hilbert space and is a reflexive Banach space such that the linear space K is dense both in K and . Let * be a dual pair of Banach spaces. In this paper we study some properties of infinitesimal operators of these semigroups. We show that under suitable assumptions there is some connection between the form-sum A+B and a closure of A 1+B1, where -A 1 is an infinitesimal operator of C 0 contraction semigroup exp(-tA 1) which is the extension by continuity on of C 0 contraction semigroup exp(-tA) Kin . In particular we give some criterion of an m-accretive closability A 1+B 1 which may be applied for example to the Schrödinger operators acting in suitable L p-spaces. Also this criterion together with properties of semigroups under consideration results in the establishment of the Lie-Trotter formulae.  相似文献

Successive band-splitting transitions occur in the one-dimensional map xi+1=g(xi),i=0, 1, 2,... withg(x)=x, (0 x 1/2) –x +, (1/2 <x 1) as the parameter is changed from 2 to 1. The transition point fromN (=2n) bands to 2Nbands is given by=(2)1/N (n=0, 1,2,...). The time-correlation function i=xix0/(x0)2,xi xi–xi is studied in terms of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Frobenius-Perron operator of the map. It is shown that, near the transition point=2, i–[(10–42)/17] i,0-[(102-8)/51]i,1 + [(7 + 42)/17](–1)ie–yi, where2(–2) is the damping constant and vanishes at=2, representing the critical slowing-down. This critical phenomenon is in strong contrast to the topologically invariant quantities, such as the Lyapunov exponent, which do not exhibit any anomaly at=2. The asymptotic expression for i has been obtained by deriving an analytic form of i for a sequence of which accumulates to 2 from the above. Near the transition point=(2)1/N, the damping constant of i fori N is given by N=2(N-2)/N. Numerical calculation is also carried out for arbitrary a and is shown to be consistent with the analytic results.  相似文献

A new expression e is obtained for resonance in the reaction e+e ar + with allowance for the radiative corrections, which also contain the emission of hard photons by the final leptons and the final value of the energy resolution E. An expression is obtained for the total probability of radiative lepton decay. We consider lattice classical ferromagnetic spin systems at high temperature (1) with nearest neighbor interactions and even single-spin distributions (ssd). Associated with each system is an imaginary time lattice quantum field theory. It is known that there is a particle of mass m–ln in the energy-momentum spectrum. If s 4–3s 22<0, where s k is the kth moment of the ssd, and is sufficiently small, we show that in the two-particle subspace there is no mass spectrum up to 2m. For >0 we show that the only mass spectrum in (m, 2m) is a bound state of mass m b=2m+ln(1–)+O(), where =(+2s 22)–1. A bound on the decay of the kernel of a Bethe–Salpeter equation is obtained and used to prove these results.  相似文献

Rates of particle-emitting decay of the resonant state of the muonic molecular ion (dHe) J=1 lying below the (d)1s-He threshold can decay to the d-He scattering state. The resonant state is estimated by scattering calculations with the non-adiabatic coupled-rearrangement-channel method. Strong isotope dependence of the decay rates of (d3He) J=1 and (d4He) J=1 is predicted, though the calculated radiative decay rates of the states are almost the same. In (d3He) J=1, the particle decay width is three times larger than the radiative decay width, while the two types of decay widths are almost the same in (d4He) J=1. This results in a strong hindrance of the branching ratio of the radiative decay of (d3He) J=1 compared with the case of (d4He) J=1. This is consistent with a recent observation of the radiative decay of the two molecular states.  相似文献
