We report on double-differential inclusive cross-sections of the production of secondary protons, charged pions, and deuterons, in the interactions with a 5% λ int thick stationary lead target, of proton and pion beams with momentum from ±3 GeV/c to ±15 GeV/c. Results are given for secondary particles with production angles 20°<θ<125°. Cross-sections on lead nuclei are compared with cross-sections on beryllium, copper, and tantalum nuclei. 相似文献

Hadron generation in the Geant4 simulation tool kit is compared with inclusive spectra of secondary protons and pions from
the interactions with beryllium nuclei of +8.9 GeV/c protons and pions, and of −8.0 GeV/c pions. The data were taken in 2002 at the CERN Proton Synchrotron with the HARP spectrometer. We report on significant disagreements
between data and Monte Carlo simulation especially in the polar-angle distributions of secondary protons and pions.

Data on fast protons and antiprotons produced byπ ± incident on hydrogen and nuclear targets at 30 GeV/c are presented. The results covering the kinematic range 0.32 F <0.54 andp T >0.2 GeV/c, complete our previous paper. We give results on inclusive cross-sections as a function ofx F , ofp T 2 and on cross-section ratios. Inclusive production of∑ ±(1385) resonances is studied in \(\bar pp\) interactions at 12 GeV/c. The cross sections for∑ +(1385)+cc and∑ ? are determined to be 251±38 μb and 123±30 μb, respectively. The inclusive spectra are presented as a function of Feynman x, c.m. rapidity and the squared transverse momentump T 2 . Significant differences with the correspondingpp data are found in the longitudinal momentum distributions. The qualitative features of the production can be explained by simple quark ideas. 相似文献

New data on the production of protons, anti-protons and neutrons in p+p interactions are presented. The data come from a sample of 4.8 million inelastic events obtained with the NA49 detector at the CERN SPS at 158 GeV/c beam momentum. The charged baryons are identified by energy loss measurement in a large TPC tracking system. Neutrons are detected in a forward hadronic calorimeter. Inclusive invariant cross sections are obtained in intervals from 0 to 1.9 GeV/c (0 to 1.5 GeV/c) in transverse momentum and from ?0.05 to 0.95 (?0.05 to 0.4) in Feynman x for protons (anti-protons), respectively. p T integrated neutron cross sections are given in the interval from 0.1 to 0.9 in Feynman x. The data are compared to a wide sample of existing results in the SPS and ISR energy ranges as well as to proton and neutron measurements from HERA and RHIC. 相似文献

We present results of an investigation of diffraction dissociation in exclusive channels inK ± p interactions at 32 GeV/c. Total cross sections are determined forK ±→K ±π+π?,K ±2π+2π?,K 0π±π± K ±2π+π?,K ± K + K ?,K ±p \(\bar p\) , \(\bar \Lambda \) p, andp→pπ +π?,p2π+2π?,pK +K?,ΛK +,ΛK +π+π? dissociation modes, ranging from a high of ? 300 μb to ~ 3 μb. Thedσ/dt′ differential cross sections of most of the systems studied exhibit structure, with breaks of slope att′ ~ 0.2 to 0.5 GeV2; some modes have a sharp forward spike with a slope exceeding 10 GeV?2. A systematic investigation of two-body dissociation modesK→A+B andp→A′+B′ shows that these cross sections decrease with increasing threshold massM A+M B, that they are comparable for kaon and proton dissociations at similar diffractive excitation masses and are systematically suppressed by a factor 3–4 for dissociations requiring an \(s\bar s\) quark pair creation when compared to \(u\bar u\) pair creation indicating a breakdown ofSU 3 symmetry for the \(q\bar q\) sea. 相似文献

Results are presented on the inclusive production of π± mesons and protons in \(\bar p\) p interactions at an incident antiproton momentum of 32 GeV/c in the MIRABELLE bubble chamber, based on a sample of 55,000 inelastic events. The spectra of π+(π?) andp( \(\bar p\) ) are separated in the whole kinematically admitted region of phase space by a statistical method. The semi-inclusive and inclusive cross sections and the main average characteristics of π andp production are calculated. The invariant differential cross sections are studied as functions of the Fevnman scaling variablex, the rapidity and the transverse momentum. Thex distribution of π± mesons in the proton fragmentation region does not show any significant contribution from quark exchange or annihilation processes. A possible contribution of hard quark scattering on mesons or baryons is observed for large transverse momenta. 相似文献

by an incorrect implementation of old features at the programming level, and by a lack of the nucleon Fermi motion in the
simulation of quasi-elastic scattering. These drawbacks are not due to the physical models used. They do not manifest themselves

The WA97 experiment has measured the transverse mass spectra for negative hadrons () and strange particles produced at mid–rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions. The increased statistics of analysed data samples allowed
us to perform a study of the spectra of , , , and as a function of the collision centrality. The data, which correspond to the most central 40% of the total inelastic cross
section, have been divided into four centrality classes according to the estimated number of nucleons taking part in the collision.
The spectra, analysed separately for each centrality bin, exhibit only weak ( 15%) centrality dependence. The deviation of the inverse slope from the linear dependence on the particle mass is confirmed even for the most central Pb–Pb collisions.

We have analyzed theK 1 0 K ± π? system in the reactions π+/pp→π+/p(K 1 0 K ± π?)p. A spin-parity analysis of theK 1 0 K ± π? system in the “4C” channel confirms the existence of the 1++ E meson which decays mainly throughK * \(\bar K\) . The data allow the presence of a 0?+ wave at a level of 14% of theE/ι signal. The production ofD andE mesons in the channels where theK 1 0 K ± π? system is produced along with a π0 or π+π? system is suppressed. 相似文献
