We investigate theoretically the electronic transport through a parallel-coupled double quantum dot (DQD) molecule attached to metallic electrodes, in which the spin-flip scattering on each quantum dot is considered. Special attention is paid to the effects of the intradot spin-flip processes on the linear conductance by using the equation of motion approach for Green’s functions. When a weak spin-flip scattering on each quantum dot is present, the single Fano peak splits into two Fano peaks, and the Breit–Wigner resonance may be suppressed slightly. When the spin-flip scattering strength on each quantum dot becomes strong, the linear conductance spectrum consists of two Breit–Wigner peaks and two Fano peaks due to the quantum interference effects. The positions and shapes of these resonant peaks can be controlled by using the magnetic flux through the quantum device.  相似文献

In this Letter, we studied the electronic transport through a parallel-coupled double quantum dot (DQD) molecule including impurity effects at zero temperature. The linear conductance can be calculated by using the Green's function method. An obvious Fano resonance arising from the impurity state in the quantum dot is observed for the symmetric dot-lead coupling structure in the absence of the magnetic flux through the quantum device. When the magnetic flux is presented, two groups of conductance peaks appear in the linear conductance spectra. Each group is decomposed into one Breit-Wigner and one Fano resonances. Tuning the system parameters, we can control effectively the shapes of these conductance peaks. The Aharonov-Bohm (AB) oscillation for the magnetic flux is also studied. The oscillation period of the linear conductance with π, 2π or 4π may be observed by tuning the interdot tunneling coupling or the dot-impurity coupling strengths.  相似文献

Based on the nonequilibrium Green' function method, the spin-dependent Fano effect through parallel-coupled double quantum dots has been investigated by taking account of both Rashba spin-orbit interaction and intradot Coulomb interaction. It is shown that the quantum interference through the bonding, antibonding states and through their Coulomb blockade counterparts may result in two Breit-Wigner resonances and two Fano resonances in the conductance spectra. Moreover, the Fano lineshape of the two spin components can be modulated by Rashba spin-orbit interaction when the magnetic flux is switched on.  相似文献

The influence of Rashba spin-orbit coupling on the Fano lineshape of the conductance spectrum in a T-shaped double quantum dot structure is theoretically studied. By second-quantizing the electron Hamiltonian in this structure, it is found that the Rashba interaction brings about a spin-flip interdot hopping term. With the enhancement of the Rashba interaction, this term separates the two resonant peaks in the conductance spectrum from each other. More importantly, it causes the broadening of the narrow Fano peak, and the narrowing of the broader peak. Finally, the asymmetric Fano lineshape changes into a symmetric profile in the global conductance spectrum.  相似文献

利用非平衡格林函数方法,理论研究每臂中嵌有一个平行耦合双量子点分子的A-B干涉仪(平行耦合双量子点分子A-B干涉仪)的电荷及其自旋输运性质.无外磁场时,与每臂中嵌有一个量子点的A-B干涉仪相比较,平行耦合双量子点分子A-B干涉仪中电子隧穿变得更加容易发生.当平行耦合双量子点分子A-B干涉仪中引入外磁场时,能够在电导能谱中观察到一个Fano共振和一个反共振,这两种输运状态在磁场取适当数值时能够同时消失.此外,通过调节左右两电极间的偏压、磁通和Rashba自旋轨道相互作用,可以对体系自旋输运进行调控.  相似文献

理论上研究了含stubs的Rashba自旋轨道耦合(spin-orbit coupling, SOC)量子波导系统的自旋极化输运性质. 利用晶格格林函数方法,发现由于stubs和SOC产生的势阱使系统中出现束缚态,这些束缚态与传播态之间相互干涉导致电导中出现Fano共振结构,同时在对应的自旋极化率中也出现Fano共振或反共振结构. 此外,由于系统结构的突变使电子被反向散射和量子干涉效应,电导中出现一系列的共振峰. 但是,当系统加上外磁场后,所有这些效应都被抑制, 系统重新出现量子化电导, 同时自旋电导也出 关键词: 量子波导 自旋极化输运 自旋轨道耦合  相似文献

We study the splitting of the Fano resonance in a Aharonov–Bohm interferometer with a quantum dot in each of its arms. Both intra- and inter-dot Coulomb repulsions are taken into account by employing the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green’s function technique. The single narrow Fano resonance in the noninteracting case is split into two in the presence of either intra- or inter-dot Coulomb interaction. We find that four Fano peaks emerge in the conductance or local density of states spectra when the two kinds of interactions exist simultaneously. Such behavior holds true for the accompanying broad Breit–Wigner type resonance. We also show that the positions of the Fano peaks can be tuned with the aid of the magnetic flux penetrating through the ring, which might have practical applications in device design or quantum computation.  相似文献

设计一个两端线型双量子点分子Aharonov-Bohm (A-B)干涉仪. 采用非平衡格林函数技术, 理论研究无含时外场作用下的体系电导和引入含时外场作用下的体系平均电流. 在不考虑含时外场时, 调节点间耦合强度或磁通可以诱导电导共振峰劈裂. 控制穿过A-B干涉仪磁通的有无, 实现了共振峰电导数值在0与1之间的数字转换, 为制造量子开关提供了一个新的物理方案. 同时借助磁通和Rashba自旋轨道相互作用, 获得了自旋过滤. 当体系引入含时外场时, 平均电流曲线展示了旁带效应. 改变含时外场的振幅, 实现了体系平均电流的大小与位置的有效控制, 而调节含时外场的频率, 则可以实现平均电流峰与谷之间的可逆转换. 通过调节磁通与Rashba自旋轨道相互作用, 与自旋相关的平均电流亦得到有效控制. 研究结果为开发利用耦合多量子点链嵌入A-B 干涉仪体系电输运性质提供了新的认知. 上述结果可望对未来的量子器件设计与量子计算发挥重要的指导作用.  相似文献

The effects of an ac electric field on the Fano resonance in a parallel-coupled double quantum dot system are investigated theoretically. The field can induce the photon-assisted Fano resonances for both symmetrical and asymmetrical parallel configurations. The magnitude and position of the photon-assisted Fano peak can be tuned by the ac field strength and frequency, respectively. Furthermore, the Fano resonance can appear with increasing the field frequency for both the symmetrical and asymmetrical configurations. This provides an efficient mechanism to control the Fano resonance. The photon-electron pumping effects for the symmetrical and asymmetrical cases are also studied in the weak- and strong-coupling regime.  相似文献

Nonequilibrium electron and spin transport properties in a parallel double quantum dot (QD) Fano interferometer are theoretically studied. With the shift of gate voltage around the chemical potential of either lead, we find the Fano lineshapes in the differential conductance spectra, which is sensitively determined by the bias voltage strength and appropriate QD level distributions. The intradot Coulomb interactions modulate the Fano interference in a substantial way and can induce the emergence of negative differential conductance, because of its nontrivial role in splitting the QD levels. In the presence of a local Rashba spin-orbit coupling, the interplay between the magnetic and Rashba fields induces the occurrence of the nonequilibrium spin-related Fano interference, different from the linear-transport results. Furthermore, the striking Coulomb-driven spin accumulation in the ‘resonant-channel’ QD appears.  相似文献

We study the spin-polarized transport and Fano resonance in an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) interferometer with an embedded quantum dot, where the dot is irradiated by continuous circularly polarized light. Compared with the conventional Fano form, the resonance line shape is found to be deformed by the interplay between the external irradiation and the Coulomb repulsion. The Fano resonance peaks are split due to the shift of the effective energy level in the dot by Rabi oscillation of electron-heavy hole pairs. The direction and magnitude of spin current polarization can be modulated by the device parameters. Furthermore, the direct tunneling between two leads can induce a sharp sign reversal of spin polarization, the system thus operates as a rectifier for spin current polarization.  相似文献

We report our studies of zero-frequency shot noise in tunneling through a parallel-coupled quantum dot interferometer by employing number-resolved quantum rate equations. We show that the combination of quantum interference effect between two pathways and strong Coulomb repulsion could result in a giant Fano factor, which is controllable by tuning the enclosed magnetic flux.  相似文献

By employing non-equilibrium Green's function method, the mesoscopic Fano effect modulated by Rashba spin–orbit (SO) coupling and external magnetic field has been elucidated for electron transport through a hybrid system composed of a quantum dot (QD) and an Aharonov–Bohm (AB) ring. The results show that the orientation of the Fano line shape is modulated by the Rashba spin–orbit interaction kRLkRL variation, which reveals that the Fano parameter q will be extended to a complex number, although the system maintains time-reversal symmetry (TRS) under the Rashba SO interaction. Furthermore, it is shown that the modulation of the external magnetic field, which is applied not only inside the frame, but also on the QD, leads to the Fano resonance split due to Zeeman effect, which indicates that the hybrid is an ideal candidate for the spin readout device.  相似文献

We investigate a tunable Fano interferometer consisting of a quantum dot coupled via tunneling to a one-dimensional channel. In addition to Fano resonance, the channel shows strong Coulomb response to the dot, with a single electron modulating channel conductance by factors up to 100. Where these effects coexist, line shapes with up to four extrema are found. A model of Coulomb-modified Fano resonance is developed and gives excellent agreement with experiment.  相似文献

In the presence of direct trajectories connecting source and drain contacts, the conductance of a quantum dot may exhibit resonances of the Fano type. Since Fano resonances result from the interference of two transmission pathways, their line shape (as described by the Fano parameter q) is sensitive to dephasing in the quantum dot. We show that under certain circumstances the dephasing time can be extracted from a measurement of q for a single resonance. We also show that q fluctuates from level to level, and we calculate its probability distribution for a chaotic quantum dot. Our results are relevant to recent experiments by G?res et al. [Phys. Rev. We investigate transport through a perfect quantum wire with a side-coupled quantum dot under an ac field. Time-averaged complex conductance is formulated by using the nonequilibrium Green function (NGF) method. We find that the electron-photon interaction together with the quantum interference of electron wave function can lead to anti-resonance in the conductance, which is then useful for tuning coherence and phases of electrons. Meanwhile, we study the temperature dependence of the conductance. Interestingly, a peak-structure can be developed at the Fano resonance levels with increasing temperatures.  相似文献

We present quantum magneto-conductance simulations, at the quantum low energy condition, to study the open quantum dot limit. The longitudinal conductance G(E,B) of spinless and non-interacting electrons is mapped as a function of the magnetic field B and the energy E of the electrons. The quantum dot linked to the semi-infinite leads is tuned by quantum point contacts of variable width w. We analyze the transition from a quantum wire to an open quantum dot and then to an effective closed system. The transition, as a function of w, occurs in the following sequence: evolution of quasi-Landau levels to Fano resonances and quasi-bound states between the quasi-Landau levels, followed by the formation of crossings that evolve to anti-crossings inside the quasi-Landau level region. After that, Fano resonances are created between the quasi-Landau states with the final generation of resonant tunneling peaks. By comparing the G(E,B) maps, we identify the closed and open-like limits of the system as a function of the applied magnetic field. These results were used to build quantum openness diagrams G(w,B). Also, these maps allow us to determine the w-limit value from which we can qualitatively relate the closed system properties to the open one. The above analysis can be used to identify single spinless particle effects in experimental measurements of the open quantum dot limit.  相似文献

Our series of recent work on the transmission coefficient of open quantum systems in one dimension will be reviewed. The transmission coefficient is equivalent to the conductance of a quantum dot connected to leads of quantum wires. We will show that the transmission coefficient is given by a sum over all discrete eigenstates of the Hamiltonian, without a background integral. An apparent “background” is in fact not a background but generated by tails of various resonance peaks. By using the expression, we will show that the Fano asymmetry of a resonance peak is caused by the interference between various discrete eigenstates. In particular, a broad resonance can strongly skew the peak of a nearby sharp resonance.  相似文献

The conductance across a quantum dot can be influenced by levels localized in the dot and having little hybridization with the conduction channel. Fano lineshapes arising in resonant transmission measurements, imply interference between the localized and extended states. By applying a magnetic orthogonal field, the total spin of a quantum dot can be tuned. Electron correlations drive the dot through level crossings to higher spin states. Such crossings can give rise to Kondo conductance when the dot is at Coulomb blockade close to a magnetic field induced level degeneracy. In a previous work [P. Stefański, A. Tagliacozzo, B.R. Bulka, Phys. Rev. Lett. 93 (2004) 186805] we have shown that a Fano-like pattern also appears when the continuum of the conduction states originates from a broad Kondo resonance. A bunch of localized core levels, weakly coupled to the Kondo resonance, imprints the broad Kondo peak with Fano lineshapes. A signature of the presence of correlations in the quantum dot is discussed.  相似文献
