The vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser pulsed field ionization photoelectron (PFI-PE) spectrum of cis-dichloroethene (cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl) has been measured in the energy region of 77 600-79 500 cm(-1). On the basis of the semiempirical simulation of the origin PFI-PE band, we have obtained the IE(cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl) to be 77 899.5+/-2.0 cm(-1) (9.658 39+/-0.000 25 eV). The assignment of the vibrational bands resolved in the VUV-PFI-PE spectrum are guided by high-level ab initio calculations of the vibrational frequencies for cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl(+) and the Franck-Condon factors for the ionization transitions. Combining the results of the present VUV-PFI-PE measurement and the recent VUV-infrared-photoinduced Rydberg ionization study, the vibrational frequencies for eleven of the twelve vibrational modes of cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl(+) have been experimentally determined: nu(1) (+)(a(1))=181 cm(-1), nu(2) (+)(a(2))=277 cm(-1), nu(3) (+)(b(2))=580 cm(-1), nu(4) (+)(b(1))=730 cm(-1), nu(5) (+)(a(1))=810 cm(-1), nu(6) (+)(a(2))=901 cm(-1), nu(8) (+)(a(1))=1196 cm(-1), nu(9) (+)(b(2))=1348 cm(-1), nu(10) (+)(a(1))=1429 cm(-1), nu(11) (+)(b(2))=3067 cm(-1), and nu(12) (+)(a(1))=3090 cm(-1)). These values are compared to theoretical anharmonic vibrational frequencies obtained at the MP2/6-311G(2df,p) and CCSD(T)/6-311G(2df,p) levels. The IE prediction for cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl has also been calculated with the wave function based CCSD(T)/CBS method, which involves the approximation to the complete basis set (CBS) and the high-level correlation corrections. The theoretical IE(cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl)=9.668 eV thus obtained is found to have a deviation of less than 10 meV with respect to the experimental IE value.  相似文献

The preparation of methyl iodide (CH(3)I) in selected rovibrational states [nu(7)=1 (C-H stretch); J] by infrared (IR) excitation prior to vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) photoionization has greatly simplified the observed pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) spectra, allowing the direct determination of the rotational constants B(+)(C(+))=0.254+/-0.003 cm(-1) for CH(3)I(+)(X (2)E(3/2);nu(7) (+)) and the ionization energy (76 896.9+/-0.2 cm(-1)) for CH(3)I(+)(X (2)E(3/2);nu(7) (+)=1,J(+)=3/2)<--CH(3)I(X (1)A(1);nu(7)=1,J=0). The IR-VUV-PFI-PE and IR-VUV-photoion measurements also provide relative state-to-state (nu(7) (+)=1, J(+)<--nu(7)=1, J) cross sections for the photoionization process.  相似文献

By using a high-resolution single mode infrared-optical parametric oscillator laser to prepare CH(3)I in single (J,K) rotational levels of the nu(1) (symmetric C-H stretching) =1 vibrational state, we have obtained rovibrationally resolved infrared-vacuum ultraviolet-pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (IR-VUV-PFI-PE) spectra of the CH(3)I(+)(X(2)E(32);nu(1)(+)=1;J(+),P(+)) band, where (J,K) and (J(+),P(+)) represent the respective rotational quantum numbers of CH(3)I and CH(3)I(+). The IR-VUV-PFI-PE spectra observed for K=0 and 1 are found to have nearly identical structures. The IR-VUV-PFI-PE spectra for (J,K)=(5,0) and (7, 0) are also consistent with the previous J-selected IR-VUV-PFI-PE measurements. The analysis of these spectra indicates that the photoionization cross section of CH(3)I depends strongly on DeltaJ(+)=J(+)-J: but not on J and K. This observation lends strong support for the major assumption adopted for the semiempirical simulation scheme, which has been used for the simulation of the origin bands observed in VUV-PFI-PE study of polyatomic molecules. Using the state-to-state photoionization cross sections determined in this IR-VUV study, we have obtained excellent simulation of the VUV-PFI-PE origin band of CH(3)I(+)(X (2)E(32)), yielding more precise IE(CH(3)I)=76 930.7+/-0.5 cm(-1) and nu(1) (+)=2937.8+/-0.2 cm(-1).  相似文献

By using a high-resolution infrared (IR) laser to prepare propyne (C(3)H(4)) in selected rotational levels of the excited nu(1) (acetylenic C-H stretching) vibration mode prior to vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) measurements, we have obtained rotationally resolved VUV-PFI-PE spectra for the C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12),nu(1) (+)=1) band. The analysis of these PFI-PE spectra leads to the determination of the spin-orbit constant of A=-13.0+/-0.2 cm(-1) for the C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12),nu(1) (+)=1) state. Using this A constant and the relative rotationally selected and resolved state-to-state photoionization cross sections thus measured, we have obtained an excellent simulation for the VUV-PFI-PE origin band of C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12)), yielding a value of 83 619.0+/-1.0 cm(-1) (10.367 44+/-0.000 12 eV) for the adiabatic ionization energy of C(3)H(4) [IE(C(3)H(4))]. The present two-color IR-VUV-PFI-PE study has also made possible the determination of the C-H stretching frequencies nu(1) (+)=3217.1+/-0.2 cm(-1) for C(3)H(4) (+)(X (2)E(32,12)). The spectral assignment and simulation were guided by high-level ab initio calculations on the IE(C(3)H(4)), Franck-Condon factors for photoionization transitions, and rotational constants and vibrational frequencies for C(3)H(4) (+).  相似文献

We have demonstrated the two-color vacuum ultraviolet (VUV)-infrared (IR) photoinduced Rydberg ionization (PIRI) experiment. Trichloroethene (ClCH=CCl2) and trans-2-butene (trans-CH3CH=CHCH3) were prepared in Rydberg states in the range of effective principal quantum number n* approximately 7-93 by VUV excitation prior to IR-induced autoionization. The observed VUV-IR-PIRI spectra are found to be independent of n*, suggesting that the electron Rydberg orbital is conserved, i.e., the Rydberg electron is behaving as a spectator during the excitation process. The observed IR active C-H stretching vibrational frequencies nu12+ = 3072+/-5 cm(-1) for ClCH=CCl2+ and nu23+ =2908+/-3 cm(-1), nu25+ =2990+/-10 cm(-1) and nu30+ =3022+/-10 cm(-1) for trans-CH3CH=CHCH3+ are compared with predictions based on ab initio quantum-chemical procedures and density functional calculations.  相似文献

Infrared photodissociation (IRPD) spectra of carbon dioxide cluster ions, (CO(2))(n) (+) with n=3-8, are measured in the 1000-3800 cm(-1) region. IR bands assignable to solvent CO(2) molecules are observed at positions close to the vibrational frequencies of neutral CO(2) [1290 and 1400 cm(-1) (nu(1) and 2nu(2)), 2350 cm(-1) (nu(3)), and 3610 and 3713 cm(-1) (nu(1)+nu(3) and 2nu(2)+nu(3))]. The ion core in (CO(2))(n) (+) shows several IR bands in the 1200-1350, 2100-2200, and 3250-3500 cm(-1) regions. On the basis of previous IR studies in solid Ne and quantum chemical calculations, these bands are ascribed to the C(2)O(4) (+) ion, which has a semicovalent bond between the CO(2) components. The number of the bands and the bandwidth of the IRPD spectra drastically change with an increase in the cluster size up to n=6, which is ascribed to the symmetry change of (CO(2))(n) (+) by the solvation of CO(2) molecules and a full occupation of the first solvation shell at n=6.  相似文献

A supersonic beam of metastable He(*) atoms and He(2) (*) a (3)Sigma(u) (+) molecules has been generated using a pulsed discharge at the exit of a pulsed valve prior to the gas expansion into vacuum. Pulsed-field-ionization zero-kinetic-energy photoelectron spectra of the He(2) (+) X(+) (2)Sigma(u) (+) (v(+)=0-2)<--He(2) (*) a (3)Sigma(u) (+) (v(")=0-2) transitions and photoionization spectra of He(2) (*) in the vicinity of the lowest ionization thresholds have been recorded. The energy level structures of (4)He(2) (+) X(+) (2)Sigma(u) (+) (v(+)< or =2,N(+)< or =23) and (3)He(2) (+) X(+) (2)Sigma(u) (+) (v(+)=0,N(+)< or =11) have been determined, and an accurate set of molecular constants for all isotopomers of He(2) (+) has been derived in a global analysis of all spectroscopic data reported to date on the low vibrational levels of He(2) (+). The analysis of the photoionization spectrum by multichannel quantum defect theory has provided a set of parameters describing the threshold photoionization dynamics.  相似文献

The vacuum-ultraviolet (VUV) pulsed-field ionization-photoelectron (VUV-PFI-PE) spectra of trans-1-bromopropene (trans-CH(3)CH[Double Bond]CHBr) and cis-1-bromopropene (cis-CH(3)CH[Double Bond]CHBr) have been measured in the energy region of 74 720-76 840 cm(-1). The simulation of fine structures observed in the origin VUV-PFI-PE vibrational bands of these molecules has provided the ionization energies (IEs) of trans-1-bromopropene and cis-1-bromopropene to be 74 779.3+/-2.0 cm(-1) (9.2715+/-0.0002 eV) and 75 140.2+/-2.0 cm(-1) (9.3162+/-0.0002 eV), respectively. The vibrational bands resolved in these VUV-PFI-PE spectra at energies 0-1700 cm(-1) above the IEs of trans-1-bromopropene and cis-1-bromopropene have been assigned based on theoretical vibrational frequencies and calculated Franck-Condon factors for the ionization transitions.  相似文献

Optical-optical-optical triple-resonance spectroscopy of (11)BH isolates high Rydberg states that form series converging to rotational state specific ionization potentials in the vibrational levels of (11)BH(+) from nu(+)=0 through 4. Limits defined by a comprehensive fit of these series to state-detailed thresholds yield rovibrational constants describing the X (2)Sigma(+) state of (11)BH(+). The data provide a first determination of the vibrational-rotational interaction parameter alpha(e)=0.4821 cm(-1) and a more accurate estimate of omega(e)=2526.58 cm(-1) together with the higher-order anharmonic terms omega(e)x(e)=61.98 cm(-1) and omega(e)y(e)=-1.989 cm(-1). The deperturbation and global fit of series to state-detailed limits also yield a precise value of the adiabatic ionization potential of (11)BH of 79 120.3+/-0.1 cm(-1), or 9.810 33+/-1x10(-5) eV. High precision is afforded here by the use of graphical analysis techniques, narrow-bandwidth laser systems, and an analysis of newly observed, high principal quantum number Rydberg states that conform well with Hund's case (d) electron-core coupling limit.  相似文献

A potential energy surface for trans-formanilide (TFA)-H2O is calculated and applied to study energy flow in the complex as well as the kinetics of water shuttling between hydrogen bonding sites on TFA. In addition to the previously identified H2O-TFA(C[Double Bond]O) and H2O-TFA(NH) minima, with the water monomer bound to the C[Double Bond]O and NH groups, respectively, the new surface reveals a second local minimum with the water bound to the C[Double Bond]O group, and which lies energetically 310 cm(-1) above the previously identified H2O-TFA(C[Double Bond]O) global minimum. On this surface, the energy barrier for water shuttling from H2O-TFA(C[Double Bond]O) global minimum to H2O-TFA(N-H) is 984 cm(-1), consistent with the experimental bounds of 796 and 988 cm(-1) [J. R. Clarkson et al. Science 307, 1443 (2005)]. The ergodicity threshold of TFA is calculated to be 1450 cm(-1); for the TFA-H2O complex, the coupling to the water molecule is found to lower the ergodicity threshold to below the isomerization barrier. Energy transfer between the activated complex and the vibrational modes of TFA is calculated to be sufficiently rapid that the Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus (RRKM) theory does not overestimate the rate of water shuttling. The possibility that the rate constant for water shuttling is higher than the RRKM theory estimate is discussed in light of the relatively high energy of the ergodicity threshold calculated for TFA.  相似文献

The infrared (IR) spectrum of propyne in the region of 2934-2952 cm(-1) has been recorded by the IR-vacuum ultraviolet (VUV)-photoion method. The spectrum is shown to consist of two near-resonant, but noncoupled vibrational bands: the nu2 symmetric methyl C-H stretching vibrational band and a combination vibrational band nucs. The previously unobserved Q line of the nucs band is observed. The rotational transition lines of the nu2=1 band produces IR-VUV-pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (IR-VUV-PFI-PE) signal at the C3H4+ (nu2+=1) photoionization threshold. The rotational transition lines associated with the nucs band do not produce IR-VUV-PFI-PE signal. Rotational transition lines of both vibrational bands are assigned and simulated; and ab initio calculations further confirm the assignment.  相似文献

The dissociation of energy-selected ND(3) (+) to form ND(2) (+)+D near its threshold has been investigated using the pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE)-photoion coincidence method. The breakdown curves for ND(3) (+) and ND(2) (+) give a value of 15.891+/-0.001 eV for the 0 K dissociation threshold or appearance energy (AE) for ND(2) (+) from ND(3). We have also measured the PFI-PE vibrational bands for ND(3) (+)(X;v(2) (+)=0, 1, 2, and 3), revealing partially resolved rotational structures. The simulation of these bands yields precise ionization energies (IEs) for ND(3) (+) X(0,v(2) (+)=0-3,0,0)<--ND(3) X(0,0,0,0). Using the 0 K AE (ND(2) (+)) and IE(ND(3))=10.200+/-0.001 eV determined in the present study, together with the known 0 K bond dissociation energy for ND(3) [D(0)(D-ND(2))=4.7126+/-0.0025 eV], we have determined the D(0)(ND(2) (+)-D), IE(ND(2)), and 0 K heat of formation for ND(2) (+) to be 5.691+/-0.001 eV, 11.1784+/-0.0025 eV, and 1261.82+/-0.4 kJ/mol, respectively. The PFI-PE spectrum is found to exhibit a steplike feature near the AE(ND(2) (+)), indicating that the dissociation of excited ND(3) (+) at energies slightly above the dissociation threshold is prompt, occurring in the time scale 相似文献

By preparing ethylene [C2H4(X1Ag)] in selected rotational levels of the nu11(b1u), nu2+nu12(b1u), or nu9(b2u) vibrational state with infrared (IR) laser photoexcitation prior to vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) laser photoionization, we have recorded rotationally resolved pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) spectra for C2H4+(X2B3u) in the energy region of 0-3000 cm(-1) above the ionization energy (IE) of C2H4(X1Ag). Here, nu2(ag), nu9(b2u), nu11(b1u), and nu12(b1u) represent the C-C stretching, CH2 stretching, CH2 stretching, and CH2 bending modes of C2H4(X1Ag), respectively. The fully rovibrationally resolved spectra have allowed unambiguous symmetry assignments of the observed vibrational bands, which in turn have provided valuable information on the photoionization dynamics of C2H4. The IR-VUV photoionization of C2H4(X1Ag) via the nu11(b1u) or nu2+nu12(b1u) vibrational states is found to predominantly produce vibrational states of C2H4+(X2B3u) with b1u symmetry, which cannot be observed in single-photon VUV-PFI-PE measurements of C2H4(X1Ag). The analysis of the observed IR-VUV-PFI-PE bands has provided the IE(C2H4) = 84,790.2(2) cm(-1) and accurate vibrational frequencies for the nu4+(au)[84.1(2) cm(-1)], nu12+(b1u)[1411.7(2) cm(-1)], nu4+ +nu12+(b1g)[1482.5(2) cm(-1)], nu2+(ag)[1488.3(2) cm(-1)], nu2+ + nu4+(au)[1559.2(2) cm(-1)], 2nu4+ + nu12 +(b1u)[1848.5(2) cm(-1)], 4nu4+ + nu12 +(b1u)[2558.8(2) cm(-1)], nu2+ + nu12 +(b1u)[2872.7(2) cm(-1)], and nu11+(b1u)[2978.7(2) cm(-1)] vibrational states of C2H4+(X2B3u), where nu4+ is the ion torsional state. The IE(C2H4) and the nu4+(au), nu2+(ag), and nu2+ + nu4+ (au) frequencies are in excellent accord with those obtained in previous single-photon VUV-PFI-PE measurements. The other ion vibrational frequencies represent new experimental determinations. We have also performed high-level ab initio anharmonic vibrational frequency calculations for C2H4(X1Ag) and C2H4+(X2B3u) at the CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pVQZ level for guidance in the assignment of the IR-VUV-PFI-PE spectra. All theoretical vibrational frequencies for the neutral and ion, except the ion torsional frequency, are found to agree with experimental vibrational frequencies to better than 1%.  相似文献

Molecular beam cooled HCl was state selected by two-photon excitation of the V (1) summation operator(0(+)) [v=9,11-13,15], E (1) summation operator(0(+)) [v=0], and g (3) summation operator(-)(0(+)) [v=0] states through either the Q(0) or Q(1) lines of the respective (1,3) summation operator(0(+))<--<--X (1) summation operator(0(+)) transition. Similarly, HBr was excited to the V (1) summation operator(0(+)) [v=m+3, m+5-m+8], E (1) summation operator(0(+)) [v=0], and H (1) summation operator(0(+)) [v=0] states through the Q(0) or Q(1) lines. Following absorption of a third photon, protons were formed by three different mechanisms and detected using velocity map imaging. (1) H(*)(n=2) was formed in coincidence with (2)P(i) halogen atoms and subsequently ionized. For HCl, photodissociation into H(*)(n=2)+Cl((2)P(12)) was dominant over the formation of Cl((2)P(32)) and was attributed to parallel excitation of the repulsive [(2) (2)Pi4llambda] superexcited (Omega=0) states. For HBr, the Br((2)P(32))Br((2)P(12)) ratio decreases with increasing excitation energy. This indicates that both the [(3) (2)Pi(12)5llambda] and the [B (2) summation operator5llambda] superexcited (Omega=0) states contribute to the formation of H(*)(n=2). (2) For selected intermediate states HCl was found to dissociate into the H(+)+Cl(-) ion pair with over 20% relative yield. A mechanism is proposed by which a bound [A (2) summation operatornlsigma] (1) summation operator(0(+)) superexcited state acts as a gateway state to dissociation into the ion pair. (3) For all intermediate states, protons were formed by dissociation of HX(+)[v(+)] following a parallel, DeltaOmega=0, excitation. The quantum yield for the dissociation process was obtained using previously reported photoionization efficiency data and was found to peak at v(+)=6-7 for HCl and v(+)=12 for HBr. This is consistent with excitation of the repulsive A(2) summation operator(12) and (2) (2)Pi states of HCl(+), and the (3) (2)Pi state of HBr(+). Rotational alignment of the Omega=0(+) intermediate states is evident from the angular distribution of the excited H(*)(n=2) photofragments. This effect has been observed previously and was used here to verify the reliability of the measured spatial anisotropy parameters.  相似文献

The photofragmentation of propyne-d(3), D(3)C-C[Triple Bond]C-H, following approximately 243.1 nm photodissociation of rovibrationally excited molecules promoted to the second (3nu(1)) and third (4nu(1)) acetylenic C-H overtone and to the third (4nu(CD)) methyl overtone has been investigated. The resulting H and D photoproducts were detected via (2+1) resonantly enhanced multiphoton ionization. The measured room-temperature photoacoustic and jet-cooled action spectra allowed derivation of the molecular parameters of the C-H overtones and the Doppler profiles revealed the translational energies associated with the H(D) photofragments and the H to D branching ratios. Propensities toward the latter were encountered, while the translational energy disposal in both photofragments was essentially identical for a given preexcitation. This behavior agrees with that found for the almost isoenergetic 193.3 nm photolysis of propyne [Qadiri et al., J. Chem. Phys. 119, 12842 (2003)], but contradicts previous findings. The bond fission of C-H and C-D is preceded by internal conversion to, and isomerization on, the ground-state potential energy surface (PES), followed by extensive intramolecular vibrational redistribution. For molecules preexcited to 3nu(1) and 4nu(1) an additional minor channel opens, where elimination of H occurs directly on the accessed excited PES, while that of D on the ground state.  相似文献

A two-state vibrational wave packet is prepared in a low-lying 4d[12](1 or 2) Rydberg state of jet cooled Br(2) (4d, v(')=3 and v(')=4) by two-photon excitation with 266.5 nm pulses from an ultrafast laser. The wave packet is detected by autoionization following excitation with time-delayed 800 nm pulses to the n=8 (v(+)=4) and n=9 (v(+)=3) Rydberg states in the (2)Pi(12) angular momentum core state. Autoionization of each state occurs to the (2)Pi(32) state of the ion through spin-orbit ionization. Photoelectron spectroscopy is used to differentiate between the n=8 and n=9 ejected photoelectrons. Detection of the wave packet recurrences via the n=8 and n=9 Rydberg states reveals a pi phase-shift difference of the recurrences between the two final states. In each case, Delta v not equal 0 transitions are observed since wave packet recurrences are detected. By fitting the observed phase change of the recurrences with a simple model for the overlap amplitudes and assumptions about the potentials, we estimate, within the context of the model, that approximately 0.6% of the transitions may be attributed to Delta v= +/- 1 transitions between the initial Rydberg superposition state and the final Rydberg detection state.  相似文献

Vacuum ultraviolet pulsed-field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) spectra of H(2)S have been recorded at PFI-PE resolutions of 0.6-1.0 meV in the energy range of 10-17 eV using high-resolution synchrotron radiation. The PFI-PE spectrum, which covers the formation of the valence electronic states H(2)S(+) (X (2)B(1), A (2)A(1), and B (2)B(2)), is compared to the recent high-resolution He I photoelectron spectra of H(2)S obtained by Baltzer et al. [Chem. Phys. 195, 403 (1995)]. In addition to the overwhelmingly dominated origin vibrational band, the PFI-PE spectrum for H(2)S(+)(X (2)B(1)) is found to exhibit weak vibrational progressions due to excitation of the combination bands in the nu(1) (+) symmetric stretching and nu(2) (+) bending modes. While the ionization energy (IE) for H(2)S(+)(X (2)B(1)) obtained here is in accord with values determined in previously laser PFI-PE measurements, the observation of a new PFI-PE band at 12.642+/-0.001 eV suggests that the IE for H(2)S(+)(A (2)A(1)) may be 0.12 eV lower than that reported in the He I study. The simulation of rotational structures resolved in PFI-PE bands shows that the formation of H(2)S(+)(X (2)B(1)) and H(2)S(+)(A (2)A(1)) from photoionization of H(2)S(X (1)A(1)) is dominated by type-C and type-B transitions, respectively. This observation is consistent with predictions of the multichannel quantum defect theory. The small changes in rotational angular momentum observed are consistent with the dominant atomiclike character of the 2b(1) and 5a(1) molecular orbitals of H(2)S. The PFI-PE measurement has revealed perturbations of the (0, 6, 0) K(+)=3 and (0, 6, 0) K(+)=4 bands of H(2)S(+)(A (2)A(1)). Interpreting that these perturbations arise from Renner-Teller interactions at energies close to the common barriers to linearity of the H(2)S(+) (X (2)B(1) and A (2)A(1)) states, we have deduced a barrier of 23,209 cm(-1) for H(2)S(+)(X (2)B(1)) and 5668 cm(-1) for H(2)S(+)(A (2)A(1)). The barrier of 23 209 cm(-1) for H(2)S(+)(X (2)B(1)) is found to be in excellent agreement with the results of previous studies. The vibrational PFI-PE bands for H(2)S(+)(B (2)B(2)) are broad, indicative of the predissociative nature of this state.  相似文献

(P)-(+)-Hexaspiro[2.0.0.0. 0.0.2.1.1.1.1.1]pentadecane [(P)-17] as well as (M)-(-)- and (P)-(+)-octaspiro[2.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.2.1.1.1.1.1.1.1]nonadecanes [(M)- and (P)-25]-enantiomerically pure unbranched [7]- and [9]triangulanes-have been prepared starting from racemic THP-protected (methylenecyclopropyl)methanol 6. The relative configurations of all important intermediates as well as the absolute configurations of the key intermediates were established by X-ray crystal structure analyses. This new convergent approach to enantiomerically pure linear [n]triangulanes for n=7, 9 was also tested in two variants towards [15]triangulane. Some of the most prominent and unexpected features of the newly prepared compounds are the remarkable modes of self-assembly of the diols (P)-14, (E)-(3S,3'S,4S,4'S,5R,5'R)-21, (P)-(+)-22, and (E)-31 in the solid state through frameworks of intermolecular hydrogen bonds leading to, depending on the respective structure, nanotube- [(P)-14, (P)-(+)-22, and (E)-31], honeycomb-like structures [(E)-(3S,3'S,4S,4'S,5R,5'R)-21] or a supramolecular double helix [(P)-(+)- and (M)-(-)-22]. Liquid crystalline properties of the esters and ethers of the diols (P)-14, (P)-, and (M)-22 have also been tested. Although all of these [n]triangulanes have no chromophore which would lead to significant absorptions above 200 nm, they exhibit surprisingly high specific rotations even at 589 nm with [alpha](20)(D)=+672.9 (c=0.814 in CHCl(3)) for (P)-(+)-17, +909.9 (c=0.96 in CHCl(3)) for (P)-(+)-25, -890.5 (c=1.01 in CHCl(3)) for (M)-(-)-25, and -1302.5 (c=0.36 in CHCl(3)) for (M)-(-)-39, and the specific rotations increase drastically on going to shorter wavelengths. This outstanding rotatory power is in line with their rather rigid helical arrangement of sigma bonds, and accordingly these helically shaped unbranched [n]triangulanes may be termed "sigma-[n]helicenes", as they represent the sigma-bond analogues of the aromatic pi-[n]helicenes. Density functional theory (DFT) computations at the B3 LYP/6-31+G(d,p) level of theory for the geometry optimization and time-dependent DFT for determining optical rotations with a triplet-zeta basis set (B3 LYP/TZVP) reproduce the optical rotatory dispersions (ORD) very well for the lower members (n=4, 5) of the sigma-[n]helicenes. For the higher ones (n=7, 9, 15) the computed specific rotations turn out increasingly larger than the experimental values. The remarkable increase of the specific rotation with an increasing number of three-membered rings is proportional neither to the molecular weight nor to the number of cyclopropane rings in these sigma-[n]helicenes.  相似文献

(2+1) resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization spectra of jet-cooled trans-1,2-dibromoethylene are reported for the first time. The two-photon spectral region between 149.7 and 141.2 nm was examined. A 4p(z)<--pi Rydberg transition between 66,800 and 68,000 cm(-1) with A(g) excited state symmetry was analyzed, as well as two 4f<--pi Rydberg transitions with B(g) excited state symmetry and one 4f<--pi Rydberg transition with A(g) excited state symmetry between 68,000 and 70,800 cm(-1). All Rydberg transitions observed in this work belong to series that converge to the first ionization potential of the molecule. The short vibrational progressions observed involve two totally symmetric in-plane normal modes: C=C-H bending (nu(3)) and C=C-Br bending (nu(5)) with average excited state frequencies of 829 and 226 cm(-1), respectively.  相似文献

We describe a series of molecular dynamics computations that reveal an intimate connection at the atomic scale between difference stress (which resists stretches) and pressure (which resists volume changes) in an idealized elastomer, in contrast to the classical theory of rubber elasticity. Our simulations idealize the elastomer as a "pearl necklace," in which the covalent bonds are stiff linear springs, while nonbonded atoms interact through a Lennard-Jones potential with energy epsilon(LJ) and radius sigma(LJ). We calculate the difference stress t(11)-(t(22)+t(33))/2 and mean stress (t(11)+t(22)+t(33))/3 induced by a constant volume extension in the x(1) direction, as a function of temperature T and reduced density rho(*)=Nsigma(IJ) (3)/nu. Here, N is the number of atoms in the simulation cell and nu is the cell volume. Results show that for rho(*)<1, the difference stress is purely entropic and is in good agreement with the classical affine network model of rubber elasticity, which neglects nonbonded interactions. However, data presented by van Krevelen [Properties of Polymers, 3rd ed. (Elsevier, Amsterdam, 1990), p. 79] indicate that rubber at standard conditions corresponds to rho(*)=1.2. For rho(*)>1, the system is entropic for kT/epsilon(LJ)>2, but at lower temperatures the difference stress contains an additional energy component, which increases as rho(*) increases and temperature decreases. Finally, the model exhibits a glass transition for rho(*)=1.2 and kT/epsilon(LJ) approximately 2. The atomic-scale processes responsible for generating stress are explored in detail. Simulations demonstrate that the repulsive portion of the Lennard-Jones potential provides a contribution sigma(nbr)>0 to the difference stress, the attractive portion provides sigma(nba) approximately 0, while the covalent bonds provide sigma(b)<0. In contrast, their respective contributions to the mean stress satisfy Pi(nbr)<0, Pi(nba)>0, and Pi(b)<0. Analytical calculations, together with simulations, demonstrate that mean and difference stresses are related by sigma(nbr)=-APi(nbr)P(2)(theta(b)), sigma(b)=BPi(b)P(2)(theta(b)), where P(2)(theta(b)) is a measure of the anisotropy of the orientation of the covalent bonds, and A and B are coefficients that depend weakly on rho(*) and temperature. For high values of rho(*), we find that [sigma(nbr)]>[sigma(b)], and in this regime our model predicts behavior that is in good agreement with experimental data of D.L. Quested et al. [J. Appl. Phys. 52, 5977 (1981)] for the influence of pressure on the difference stress induced by stretching solithane.  相似文献
