We characterize the exponential dichotomy of difference equations with infinite delay. We apply the results to study the robustness of exponential dichotomy. This kind of dichotomy gives us relevant information about boundedness of solutions for several perturbed quasi linear systems with infinite delay. Applications to Volterra difference equations are shown.  相似文献

In this paper, the eigenvalue problem of a class of linear partial difference equations is studied. The results concern the existence of eigenvalues, their character (real, positive), as well as the behavior of its eigenfunctions (positivity, oscillation). Moreover a theorem is given concerning the existence of a unique solution of an associated non-homogeneous partial difference equation. The results generalize previously known results for ordinary linear difference equations. The method used is a functional-analytic one, which transforms the eigenvalue problem for the difference equation into the equivalent problem of the eigenvalues of an operator defined on an abstract separable Hilbert space.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Recently, Christopher C. Tisdell questions some claims and results that appear in our article [Rivera-Figueroa A, Rivera-Rebolledo JM. A new method to solve the second-order linear difference equations with constant coefficients. Int J Math Educ Sci Technol. 2016;47(4):636–649.] regarding the novelty and simplicity of a method to solve second-order linear difference equations. He argues that our method was not new because the method already appeared in the mathematical literature, neither was simpler than existing ones. After carefully analysing and comparing the references quoted by Tisdell, we confirm that our method differs from that quoted by Tisdell. Moreover, our approach is simpler because it avoids the uniqueness theorem and the method of variation of parameters, in this context, it offers some clear didactic and epistemological advantages.  相似文献

This paper deals with the oscillatory properties of a class of nonlinear advanced difference equations. Sufficient criteria in the form of infinite sum for the equation to be oscillatory are obtained. In the linear cases, our results coincide with those in the literature.  相似文献

A fixed point theorem is used to investigate nonlinear Volterra difference equations that are perturbed versions of linear equations. Sufficient conditions are established to ensure that the stability properties of linear Volterra difference equations are preserved under perturbation. The existence of asymptotically periodic solutions of perturbed Volterra difference equations is also proved.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the complex oscillation problems of meromorphic solutions to some linear difference equations with meromorphic coefficients, and obtain some results about the relationships between the exponent of convergence of zeros, poles and the order of growth of meromorphic solutions to complex linear difference equations. We also study the existence of solution of certain types of nonlinear differential-difference equations, and partially answer a conjecture concerning the above problem posed by Yang and Laine (C.C. In this paper, a class of discrete-time backward non-linear equations defined on some ordered Hilbert spaces of symmetric matrices is considered. The problem of the existence of some global solutions is investigated. The class of considered discrete-time non-linear equations contains, as special cases, a great number of difference Riccati equations both from the deterministic and the stochastic framework. The results proved in the paper provide the sets of necessary and sufficient conditions that guarantee the existence of some special solutions of the considered equations as: the maximal solution, the stabilizing solution and the minimal positive semi-definite solution. These conditions are expressed in terms of the feasibility of some suitable systems of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). One shows that in the case of the equations with periodic coefficients to verify the conditions that guarantee the existence of the maximal or the stabilizing solution, we have to check the solvability of some systems of LMI with a finite number of inequations. The proofs are based on some suitable properties of discrete-time linear equations defined by the positive operators on some ordered Hilbert spaces chosen adequately. The results derived in this paper provide useful conditions that guarantee the existence of the maximal solution or the stabilizing solution for different classes of difference matrix Riccati equations involved in many problems of robust control both in the deterministic and the stochastic framework. The proofs are deterministic and are accessible to the readers less familiarized with the stochastic reasonings.  相似文献

The existance of nontrivial (x=0( periodic solutions of a general class of periodic nonlinear difference equations is proved using bifurcation theory methods. Specifically, the existance of a global continuum of nontrivial periodicsolutions that bifurcates from the trivial solution (x=0) is proved. Conditions are given under which the nontrivial solutions are positive. A prerrequisite Fredholm and adjoint operator theory for linear periodic systems is developed. The dynamical systems considered have scalar state, are multivariate, linear, time-discrete, and time-variable and are described by an initial value problem for a class of evolutionary partial difference equations. The time set is the nonnegative part of the integer lattice in several dimensions. Parts of the asymptotical stability set in the parameter space spanned by the time-variable coefficients are explicitly found. To assess the quality of the sufficient stability criteria, a comparison with the exact stability set is made in an example.  相似文献

An asymptotic approximation theory is developed for some classes of linear second-order difference equations in Banach algebras, subject to “finite moments perturbations.” The special case of linear matrix difference equations (or, equivalently, of second-order systems) is included. The formulations of extended overdetermined systems are given for hydrodynamics equations, magnetohydrodynamics equations, Maxwell equations, and elasticity equations. In this letter we propose a class of linear fractional difference equations with discrete-time delay and impulse effects.
