Koszul Duality Patterns in Representation Theory   总被引:20,自引:0,他引:20  
The aim of this paper is to work out a concrete example as well as to provide the general pattern of applications of Koszul duality to representation theory. The paper consists of three parts relatively independent of each other. The first part gives a reasonably selfcontained introduction to Koszul rings and Koszul duality. Koszul rings are certain -graded rings with particularly nice homological properties which involve a kind of duality. Thus, to a Koszul ring one associates naturally the dual Koszul ring. The second part is devoted to an application to representation theory of semisimple Lie algebras. We show that the block of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category that corresponds to any fixed central character is governed by the Koszul ring. Moreover, the dual of that ring governs a certain subcategory of the category again. This generalizes the selfduality theorem conjectured by Beilinson and Ginsburg in 1986 and proved by Soergel in 1990. In the third part we study certain categories of mixed perverse sheaves on a variety stratified by affine linear spaces. We provide a general criterion for such a category to be governed by a Koszul ring. In the flag variety case this reduces to the setup of part two. In the more general case of affine flag manifolds and affine Grassmannians the criterion should yield interesting results about representations of quantum groups and affine Lie algebras.

The aim of this article is to give a criterion, generalizing the criterion introduced by Priddy for algebras, to prove that an operad is Koszul. We define the notion of Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis in the context of operads. Then we show that an operad having a Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis is Koszul. Besides, we obtain that the Koszul dual operad has also a Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis. We check that the classical examples of Koszul operads (commutative, associative, Lie, Poisson) have a Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt basis. We also prove by our methods that new operads are Koszul.  相似文献

In a paper from 2002, Bruns and Gubeladze conjectured that graded algebra retracts of polytopal algebras over a field k are again polytopal algebras. Motivated by this conjecture, we prove that graded algebra retracts of Stanley–Reisner rings over a field k are again Stanley–Reisner rings. Extending this result further, we give partial evidence for a conjecture saying that monomial quotients of standard graded polynomial rings over k descend along graded algebra retracts.  相似文献

We compute the Nakayama automorphism of a Poincaré–Birkhoff–Witt (PBW)-deformation of a Koszul Artin–Schelter (AS) Gorenstein algebra of finite global dimension, and give a criterion for an augmented PBW-deformation of a Koszul Calabi–Yau algebra to be Calabi–Yau. The relations between the Calabi–Yau property of augmented PBW-deformations and that of non-augmented cases are discussed. The Nakayama automorphisms of PBW-deformations of Koszul AS–Gorenstein algebras of global dimensions 2 and 3 are given explicitly. We show that if a PBW-deformation of a graded Calabi–Yau algebra is still Calabi–Yau, then it is defined by a potential under some mild conditions. Some classical results are also recovered. Our main method used in this article is elementary and based on linear algebra. The results obtained in this article will be applied in a subsequent paper (He et al., Skew polynomial algebras with coefficients in AS regular algebras, preprint, 2011).  相似文献

The toric fiber product is an operation that combines two ideals that are homogeneous with respect to a grading by an affine monoid. The Segre product is a related construction that combines two multigraded rings. The quotient ring by a toric fiber product of two ideals is a subring of the Segre product, but in general this inclusion is strict. We contrast the two constructions and show that any Segre product can be presented as a toric fiber product without changing the involved quotient rings. This allows to apply previous results about toric fiber products to the study of Segre products. We give criteria for the Segre product of two affine toric varieties to be dense in their toric fiber product, and for the map from the Segre product to the toric fiber product to be finite. We give an example that shows that the quotient ring of a toric fiber product of normal ideals need not be normal. In rings with Veronese type gradings, we find examples of toric fiber products that are always Segre products, and we show that iterated toric fiber products of Veronese ideals over Veronese rings are normal.  相似文献

Let K be a field of characteristic 0 and consider exterior algebras of finite dimensional K-vector spaces. In this short paper we exhibit principal quadric ideals in a family whose Castelnuovo–Mumford regularity is unbounded. This negatively answers the analogue of Stillman's Question for exterior algebras posed by I. Peeva. We show that, via the Bernstein–Gel'fand–Gel'fand correspondence, these examples also yields counterexamples to a conjecture of J. Herzog on the Betti numbers in the linear strand of syzygy modules over polynomial rings.  相似文献

We develop a curved Koszul duality theory for algebras presented by quadratic-linear-constant relations over unital versions of binary quadratic operads. As an application, we study Poisson n-algebras given by polynomial functions on a standard shifted symplectic space. We compute explicit resolutions of these algebras using curved Koszul duality. We use these resolutions to compute derived enveloping algebras and factorization homology on parallelized simply connected closed manifolds with coefficients in these Poisson n-algebras.  相似文献

Gauss’ lemma is not only critically important in showing that polynomial rings over unique factorization domains retain unique factorization; it unifies valuation theory. It figures centrally in Krull’s classical construction of valued fields with pre-described value groups, and plays a crucial role in our new short proof of the Ohm-Ja?ard-Kaplansky theorem on Bezout domains with given lattice-ordered abelian groups. Furthermore, Eisenstein’s criterion on the irreducibility of polynomials as well as Chao’s beautiful extension of Eisenstein’s criterion over arbitrary domains, in particular over Dedekind domains, are also obvious consequences of Gauss’ lemma. We conclude with a new result which provides a Gauss’ lemma for Hermite rings.  相似文献

Let R be a positively graded algebra over a field k. We say that R is Hilbert-cyclotomic if the numerator of its reduced Hilbert series has all of its roots on the unit circle. Such rings arise naturally in commutative algebra, numerical semigroup theory and Ehrhart theory. If R is standard graded, we prove that, under the additional hypothesis that R is Koszul or has an irreducible h-polynomial, Hilbert-cyclotomic algebras coincide with complete intersections. In the Koszul case, this is a consequence of some classical results about the vanishing of deviations of a graded algebra.  相似文献

Following a construction of Stanley we consider toric face rings associated to rational pointed fans. This class of rings is a common generalization of the concepts of Stanley-Reisner and affine monoid algebras. The main goal of this article is to unify parts of the theories of Stanley-Reisner and affine monoid algebras. We consider (non-pure) shellable fan’s and the Cohen-Macaulay property. Moreover, we study the local cohomology, the canonical module and the Gorenstein property of a toric face ring.  相似文献

We establish doubly-exponential degree bounds for Gröbner bases in certain algebras of solvable type over a field (as introduced by Kandri-Rody and Weispfenning). The class of algebras considered here includes commutative polynomial rings, Weyl algebras, and universal enveloping algebras of finite-dimensional Lie algebras. For the computation of these bounds, we adapt a method due to Dubé based on a generalization of Stanley decompositions. Our bounds yield doubly-exponential degree bounds for ideal membership and syzygies, generalizing the classical results of Hermann and Seidenberg (in the commutative case) and Grigoriev (in the case of Weyl algebras).  相似文献

We study associative graded algebras that have a “complete flag” of cyclic modules with linear free resolutions, i.e., algebras over which there exist cyclic Koszul modules with any possible number of relations (from zero to the number of generators of the algebra). Commutative algebras with this property were studied in several papers by Conca and others. Here we present a noncommutative version of their construction.We introduce and study the notion of Koszul filtration in a noncommutative algebra and examine its connections with Koszul algebras and algebras with quadratic Grobner bases. We consider several examples, including monomial algebras, initially Koszul algebras, generic algebras, and algebras with one quadratic relation. In this paper we describe operads encoding two different kinds of compatibility of algebraic structures. We show that there exist decompositions of these in terms of black and white products and we prove that they are Koszul for a large class of algebraic structures by using the poset method of B. Vallette. In particular we show that this is true for the operads of compatible Lie, associative and pre-Lie algebras.  相似文献

We introduce a generalization of the notion of a Koszul algebra, which includes graded algebras with relations in different degrees, and we establish some of the basic properties of these algebras. This class is closed under twists, twisted tensor products, regular central extensions and Ore extensions. In this paper we define an equivalence relation of operators on Hilbert spaces which we call absolute equivalence. Two operators are called absolutely equivalent if both the absolute value of the operators and their adjoints are unitarily equivalent. We then use the properties of this equivalence relation to study the Koszul complex of a commuting tuple of operators through the Dirac operator of the tuple.  相似文献

We study generic toric rings. We prove that they are Golod rings, so the Poincaré series of the residue field is rational. We classify when such a ring is Koszul, and compute its rate. In this paper we study a class of algebras having n-dimensional pyramid shaped quiver with n-cubic cells, which we called n-cubic pyramid algebras. This class of algebras includes the quadratic dual of the basic n-Auslander absolutely n-complete algebras introduced by Iyama. We show that the projective resolutions of the simples of n-cubic pyramid algebras can be characterized by n-cuboids, and prove that they are periodic. So these algebras are almost Koszul and (n?1)-translation algebras. We also recover Iyama’s cone construction for n-Auslander absolutely n-complete algebras using n-cubic pyramid algebras and the theory of n-translation algebras.  相似文献
