Poly(N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrolidone) protected Pt‐core bimetallic Pt/Au‐shell (Pt@Pt/Au) nanoparticles were prepared by multi‐step reduction of HAuCl4 and H2PtCl6 alternately by hydrogen adsorbed on platinum atom. Transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) and x‐ray diffraction (XRD) were used to characterize Pt@Pt/Au nanoparticles. The structure of the shell of the nanoparticles seems to be the Au‐Pt solid solution.  相似文献

Au core Ag shell composite structure nanoparticles were prepared using a sol method. The Au core Ag shell composite nanoparticles were loaded on TiO2 nanoparticles as support using a modified powder–sol method, enabling the generation of Au @ Ag/TiO2 photocatalysts for photocatalytic decomposition and elimination of ozone. The sols were characterized by means of ultraviolet–visible light (UV–Vis) reflection spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The activity of the Au @ Ag/TiO2 photocatalysts for photocatalytic decomposition and elimination of ozone was evaluated and the effect of Cl? anions on the photocatalytic activity of the catalysts was highlighted. Results showed that Au @ Ag/TiO2 prepared via the modified powder–sol route in the presence of an appropriate amount of NaCl solid as demulsifier had better activity in the photocatalytic decomposition and elimination of ozone. At the same time, Au @ Ag/TiO2 catalysts had better ability to resist poisonous Cl? anions than conventional Au/TiO2 catalyst. The reasons could be, first, that NaCl was capable of reducing the concentration of free Ag+ by adsorption on the surface of Ag particles forming AgCl and enhancing the formation of Au core Ag shell particles, leading to a better resistance to Cl? anions of the catalysts, and, second, AgCl took part in the photocatalytic decomposition of ozone together with Au @ Ag/TiO2 catalysts and had a synergistic effect on the latter, resulting in better photocatalytic activity of Au @ Ag/TiO2 catalysts.  相似文献

Core–shell nanoparticles containing plasmonic metals(Ag or Au) have been frequently reported to enhance performance of photo-electrochemical(PEC) devices. However, the stability of these particles in water-splitting conditions is usually not addressed. In this study we demonstrate that Ag@SiO_2 core–shell particles are instable in the acidic conditions in which WO_3-based PEC cells typically operate, Ag in the core being prone to oxidation, even if the SiO_2 shell has a thickness in the order of 10 nm. This is evident from in situ voltammetry studies of several anode composites. Similar to the results of the PEC experiments, the Ag@SiO_2 core–shell particles are instable in slurry-based, Pt/ZnO induced photocatalytic water-splitting. This was evidenced by in situ photodeposition of Ag nanoparticles on the Pt-loaded ZnO catalyst, observed in TEM micrographs obtained after reaction. We explain the instability of Ag@SiO_2 by OH-radical induced oxidation of Ag, yielding dissolved Ag+. Our results imply that a decrease in shell permeability for OH-radicals is necessary to obtain stable, Ag-based plasmonic entities in photo-electrochemical and photocatalytic water splitting.  相似文献

We report the plasmonic enhancement of the photocatalytic properties of Pt/n-Si/Ag photodiode photocatalysts using Au/Ag core/shell nanorods. We show that Au/Ag core/shell nanorods can be synthesized with tunable plasmon resonance frequencies and then conjugated onto Pt/n-Si/Ag photodiodes using well-defined chemistry. Photocatalytic studies showed that the conjugation with Au/Ag core/shell nanorods can significantly enhance the photocatalytic activity by more than a factor of 3. Spectral dependence studies further revealed that the photocatalytic enhancement is strongly correlated with the plasmonic absorption spectra of the Au/Ag core/shell nanorods, unambiguously demonstrating the plasmonic enhancement effect.  相似文献

Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles were synthesized via a two‐step route using NaBH4 as a reducing agent. The nanoparticles are characterized by UV‐vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and powder X‐ray diffraction (XRD). The results indicate that the as‐synthesized Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles have a disordered face centered cubic (fcc) structure, whereas the annealed Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles exhibit an ordered face centered tetragonal (fct) structure. Superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) studies reveal that the coercivity of the annealed Pt/Co‐core Au‐shell nanoparticles increases to 510 Oe after heat treatment at 500 °C for 2 h.  相似文献

A high‐efficiency nanoelectrocatalyst based on high‐density Au/Pt hybrid nanoparticles supported on a silica nanosphere (Au‐Pt/SiO2) has been prepared by a facile wet chemical method. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy are employed to characterize the obtained Au‐Pt/SiO2. It was found that each hybrid nanosphere is composed of high‐density small Au/Pt hybrid nanoparticles with rough surfaces. These small Au/Pt hybrid nanoparticles interconnect and form a porous nanostructure, which provides highly accessible activity sites, as required for high electrocatalytic activity. We suggest that the particular morphology of the Au‐Pt/SiO2 may be the reason for the high catalytic activity. Thus, this hybrid nanomaterial may find a potential application in fuel cells.  相似文献

Gold (Au) plasmonic nanoparticles were grown evenly on monolayer graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) nanosheets via a facile oil-bath method. The photocatalytic activity of the Au/monolayer g-C3N4 composites under visible light was evaluated by photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and environmental treatment. All of the Au/monolayer g-C3N4 composites showed better photocatalytic performance than that of monolayer g-C3N4 and the 1% Au/monolayer g-C3N4 composite displayed the highest photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate of the samples. The remarkable photocatalytic activity was attributed largely to the successful introduction of Au plasmonic nanoparticles, which led to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect. The SPR effect enhanced the efficiency of light harvesting and induced an efficient hot electron transfer process. The hot electrons were injected from the Au plasmonic nanoparticles into the conduction band of monolayer g-C3N4. Thus, the Au/monolayer g-C3N4 composites possessed higher migration and separation efficiencies and lower recombination probability of photogenerated electron-hole pairs than those of monolayer g-C3N4. A photocatalytic mechanism for the composites was also proposed.  相似文献

Core-shell nanostructures of silicon oxide@noble metal have drawn a lot of interest due to their distinctive characteristics and minimal toxicity with remarkable biocompatibility. Due to the unique property of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), plasmonic nanoparticles are being used as surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) based detection of pollutants and photothermal (PT) agents in cancer therapy. Herein, we demonstrate the synthesis of multifunctional silica core – Au nanostars shell (SiO2@Au NSs) nanostructures using surfactant free aqueous phase method. The SERS performance of the as-synthesized anisotropic core-shell NSs was examined using Rhodamine B (RhB) dye as a Raman probe and resulted in strong enhancement factor of 1.37×106. Furthermore, SiO2@Au NSs were also employed for PT killing of breast cancer cells and they exhibited a concentration-dependent increase in the photothermal effect. The SiO2@Au NSs show remarkable photothermal conversion efficiency of up to 72 % which is unprecedented. As an outcome, our synthesized NIR active SiO2@Au NSs are of pivotal importance to have their dual applications in SERS enhancement and PT effect.  相似文献

In this work, we utilize the galvanic displacement synthesis and make it a general and efficient method for the preparation of Au? M (M=Au, Pd, and Pt) core–shell nanostructures with porous shells, which consist of multilayer nanoparticles. The method is generally applicable to the preparation of Au? Au, Au? Pd, and Au? Pt core–shell nanostructures with typical porous shells. Moreover, the Au? Au isomeric core–shell nanostructure is reported for the first time. The lower oxidation states of AuI, PdII, and PtII are supposed to contribute to the formation of porous core–shell nanostructures instead of yolk‐shell nanostructures. The electrocatalytic ethanol oxidation and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) performance of porous Au? Pd core–shell nanostructures are assessed as a typical example for the investigation of the advantages of the obtained core–shell nanostructures. As expected, the Au? Pd core–shell nanostructure indeed exhibits a significantly reduced overpotential (the peak potential is shifted in the positive direction by 44 mV and 32 mV), a much improved CO tolerance (If/Ib is 3.6 and 1.63 times higher), and an enhanced catalytic stability in comparison with Pd nanoparticles and Pt/C catalysts. Thus, porous Au? M (M=Au, Pd, and Pt) core–shell nanostructures may provide many opportunities in the fields of organic catalysis, direct alcohol fuel cells, surface‐enhanced Raman scattering, and so forth.  相似文献

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a mild and green oxidant widely employed in organic syntheses, medical sector, disinfection, pulp bleaching, environmental remediation and biological processes. However, its production via the expensive, multistep and energy intensive anthraquinone process renders it less sustainable. Photocatalysis is a viable, sustainable and promising strategy to produce H2O2 from green sources: water and molecular O2. This article presents key developments of photocatalytic H2O2 generation using gold (Au) nanoparticles supported on semiconductor photocatalysts. Several photocatalytic systems containing Au nanoparticles and the roles of Au nanoparticles in enhancing photocatalytic H2O2 generation including increasing the visible light absorption, facilitating the charge carrier separation and transfer, and as catalytic active sites are discussed. Factors defining the photocatalytic activity such as the effects of Au particle size and loading, localised surface plasmon resonance, mixed-gold component, and the design of photocatalysts are reviewed. Finally, the challenges and prospects for further developments of Au photocatalysis in sustainable H2O2 synthesis as well as other related applications are highlighted.  相似文献

Au/Pt core shell nanoparticles (NPs) have been prepared via a layer‐by‐layer growth of Pt layers on Au NPs using underpotential deposition (UPD) redox replacement technique. A single UPD Cu monolayer replacement with Pt(II) yielded a uniform Pt film on Au NPs, and the shell thickness can be tuned by controlling the number of UPD redox replacement cycles. Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in air‐saturated 0.1 M H2SO4 was used to investigate the electrocatalytic behavior of the as‐prepared core shell NPs. Cyclic voltammograms of ORR show that the peak potentials shift positively from 0.32 V to 0.48 V with the number of Pt layers increasing from one to five, suggesting the electrocatalytic activity increases with increasing the thickness of Pt shell. The increase in electrocatalytic activity may originate mostly from the large decrease of electronic influence of Au cores on surface Pt atoms. Rotating ring‐disk electrode voltammetry and rotating disk electrode voltammetry demonstrate that ORR is mainly a four‐electron reduction on the as‐prepared modified electrode with 5 Pt layers and first charge transfer is the rate‐determining step.  相似文献

We have synthesized hollow Au nanocages embedded within thick porous shells of cuprous oxide (Cu2O). The shell causes a significant redshift of the localized surface plasmon resonance of Au into the near‐IR. Electron–phonon coupling in the Au nanocage is 3–6 times faster in the core–shell structure due to the higher thermal conductivity of Cu2O compared to water. Coherent phonon oscillations within the Au lattice are characterized by a breathing mode of the entire structure for both bare and core–shell nanocages, an assignment made through the use of structural mechanics simulations. The experimental frequencies are obtained through simulations by selectively applying a force to the shell of the core–shell structure. We interpret this as rapid thermal expansion of the gold leading to a mechanical force that acts on the shell.  相似文献

M‐doped NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti) (M=Pt and Au) were prepared by using the wetness impregnation method followed by a treatment with H2 flow. The resultant samples were characterized by powder X‐ray diffraction (XRD), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X‐ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) analyses, N2‐sorption BET surface area, and UV/Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The photocatalytic reaction carried out in saturated CO2 with triethanolamine (TEOA) as sacrificial agent under visible‐light irradiations showed that the noble metal‐doping on NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti) promoted the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Unlike that over pure NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti), in which only formate was produced, both hydrogen and formate were formed over Pt‐ and Au‐loaded NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti). However, Pt and Au have different effects on the photocatalytic performance for formate production. Compared with pure NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti), Pt/NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti) showed an enhanced activity for photocatalytic formate formation, whereas Au has a negative effect on this reaction. To elucidate the origin of the different photocatalytic performance, electron spin resonance (ESR) analyses and density functional theory (DFT) calculations were carried out over M/NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti).The photocatalytic mechanisms over M/NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti) (M=Pt and Au) were proposed. For the first time, the hydrogen spillover from the noble metal Pt to the framework of NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti) and its promoting effect on the photocatalytic CO2 reduction is revealed. The elucidation of the mechanism on the photocatalysis over M/NH2‐MIL‐125(Ti) can provide some guidance in the development of new photocatalysts based on MOF materials. This study also demonstrates the potential of using noble metal‐doped MOFs in photocatalytic reactions involving hydrogen as a reactant, like hydrogenation reactions.  相似文献

Photocatalytic water splitting for H2 evolution is regarded as the most promising way to overcome the energy and environmental crisis. Pt clusters as a cocatalyst can efficiently enhance the performance of H2 generation in most photocatalysts, but the activity is still unsatisfied. By tuning the electronic structures of materials, one can develop catalysts with enhanced activity. Here we synthesize a Pt–Au alloy with subnano size as cocatalyst on TiO2 nanosheets for photocatalytic H2 generation that shows an outstanding activity with a H2 generation rate of 80.1 μmol h?1 for at least 100 h. The activity is twice than the pure Pt cocatalyst, mainly because the optimized hydrogen adsorption energy on Pt cluster is tuned by Au atoms.  相似文献

Core–shell structured Fe3O4/SiO2/TiO2 nanocomposites with enhanced photocatalytic activity that are capable of fast magnetic separation have been successfully synthesized by combining two steps of a sol–gel process with calcination. The as‐obtained core–shell structure is composed of a central magnetite core with a strong response to external fields, an interlayer of SiO2, and an outer layer of TiO2 nanocrystals with a tunable average size. The convenient control over the size and crystallinity of the TiO2 nanocatalysts makes it possible to achieve higher photocatalytic efficiency than that of commercial photocatalyst Degussa P25. The photocatalytic activity increases as the thickness of the TiO2 nanocrystal shell decreases. The presence of SiO2 interlayer helps to enhance the photocatalytic efficiency of the TiO2 nanocrystal shell as well as the chemical and thermal stability of Fe3O4 core. In addition, the TiO2 nanocrystals strongly adhere to the magnetic supports through covalent bonds. We demonstrate that this photocatalyst can be easily recycled by applying an external magnetic field while maintaining their photocatalytic activity during at least eighteen cycles of use.  相似文献

The synthesis of silica‐based yolk–shell nanospheres confined with ultrasmall platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs) stabilized with poly(amidoamine), in which the interaction strength between Pt NPs and the support could be facilely tuned, is reported. By ingenious utilization of silica cores with different surface wettability (hydrophilic vs. ‐phobic) as the adsorbent, Pt NPs could be confined in different locations of the yolk–shell nanoreactor (core vs. hollow shell), and thus, exhibit different interaction strengths with the nanoreactor (strong vs. weak). It is interesting to find that the adsorbed Pt NPs are released from the core to the hollow interiors of the yolk–shell nanospheres when a superhydrophobic inner core material (SiO2?Ph) is employed, which results in the preparation of an immobilized catalyst (Pt@SiO2?Ph); this possesses the weakest interaction strength with the support and shows the highest catalytic activity (88 500 and 7080 h?1 for the hydrogenation of cyclohexene and nitrobenzene, respectively), due to its unaffected freedom of Pt NPs for retention of the intrinsic properties.  相似文献

CdS nanoparticles were prepared by the precipitation method. Pt was loaded on CdS by photodeposition. SiO2-Pt-CdS was synthesized via hydrolysis of tetraethylorthosilicate in the presence of Pt-CdS. The samples were characterized by XRD, BET, PL and UV-Vis techniques. The photocatalytic activity of the samples for hydrogen evolution was investigated under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm). The stability and activity of CdS was improved by coating SiO2.
