We demonstrate that the quality of the as-grown single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) can be effectively improved by the addition of the B ingredient in the Fe/MgO catalyst. The as-grown SWCNTs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and Raman spectroscopy. The SWCNTs prepared by the pure Fe/MgO catalyst have relatively low graphite crystallinity and are coated by much amorphous carbon. The intensity ratio of the D- and G-bands (ID/IG) in Raman spectra is relatively high (0.098 for laser 532 nm and 0.075 for laser 785 nm). The SWCNTs grown from the Fe/MgO catalyst doped with 0.1 part of B have more regular graphite structure with little amorphous carbon. The ID/IG values reduced remarkably (0.041 for laser 532 nm and 0.040 for laser 785 nm). The effect would be attributed to the inhibitory action of the doped B on the formation of radical hydrocarbon species for the formation of SWCNTs.  相似文献

A novel continuous process is used for production of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of methane on iron floating catalyst in situ deposited on MgO in a fluidized bed reactor. In the hot zone of the reactor, sublimed ferrocene vapors were contacted with MgO powder fluidized by methane feed to produce Fe/MgO catalyst in situ. An annular tube was used to enhance the ferrocene and MgO contacting efficiency. Multi-wall as well as single-wall CNTs was grown on the Fe/MgO catalyst while falling down the reactor. The CNTs were continuously collected at the bottom of the reactor, only when MgO powder was used. The annular tube enhanced the contacting efficiency and improved both the quality and quantity of CNTs.The SEM and TEM micrographs of the products reveal that the CNTs are mostly entangled bundles with diameters of about 10-20 nm. Raman spectra show that the CNTs have low amount of amorphous/defected carbon with IG/ID ratios as high as 10.2 for synthesis at 900 °C. The RBM Raman peaks indicate formation of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) of 1.0-1.2 nm diameter.  相似文献

The growth of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) was successfully achieved in the channels of three dimensional (3D) iron loaded mesoporous matrices (KIT-6) by employing catalytic chemical vapour deposition (CCVD) technique. The synthesised MWNTs, which were characterised by SEM, TEM and Raman spectroscopy, consist of thick graphene layers of about 10 nm composed of 29 graphene sheets with inner and outer diameter of ∼17 nm and ∼37 nm, respectively. The Raman spectrum showed the formation of well-graphitised MWNTs with significantly higher IG/ID ratio of 1.47 compared to commercial MWNTs. Comparatively, 2 wt% Fe loaded KIT-6 material produced a better yield of 91%, which is also highest compared with the report of MWNTs synthesis using mesoporous materials reported so far.  相似文献

Upconversion (UC) emissions at 360 ((5F, 3F, 5G)2 → 5I8), 392 (3K7/5G4 → 5I8), 428 (5G5 → 5I8), 554 (5S2/5F4 → 5I8), 667 (5F5 → 5I8) and 754 (5S2/5F4 → 5I7) nm were obtained in 0.1 mol% Ho3+/x mol% Yb3+:Y2O3 (x = 2, 5, 8, 11, 15) bulk ceramics under infrared (IR) excitation at 976 nm. The intensity of the UC luminescence centered at 554 and 754 nm increased with Yb3+ concentration from 2 to 5 mol% and decreased from 5 to 15 mol%, while the UC luminescence centered at 392, 428 and 667 nm increased with Yb3+ concentration from 2 to 11 mol%, then started to reduce with Yb3+ concentration until 15 mol%. This comes from the competition between the energy back transfer (EBT) process [5S2/5F4(Ho) + 2F7/2(Yb)  5I6(Ho) + 2F5/2(Yb) as well as 5F5(Ho) + 2F7/2(Yb)  5I7(Ho) + 2F5/2(Yb)] and spontaneous radiation process. The intensity of the UC luminescence centered at 360 nm always increases with Yb3+ concentration from 2 to 15 mol%. We believe that it may come from the cooperation of energy transfer process from Yb3+ ions in the 2F5/2 state and the cross energy transfer process 5S2/5F4 + 5I6 → (5F, 3F, 5G)2 + 5I8.  相似文献

The effects of surface preparation and illumination on electric parameters of Au/InSb/InP(100) Schottky diode were investigated, in the later diode InSb forms a fine restructuration layer allowing to block In atoms migration to surface. In order to study the electric characteristics under illumination, we make use of an He-Ne laser of 1 mW power and 632.8 nm wavelength. The current-voltage I(VG), the capacitance-voltage C(VG) measurements were plotted and analysed. The saturation current Is, the serial resistance Rs and the mean ideality factor n are, respectively, equal to 2.03 × 10−5 A, 85 Ω, 1.7 under dark and to 3.97 × 10−5 A, 67 Ω, 1.59 under illumination. The analysis of I(VG) and C(VG) characteristics allows us to determine the mean interfacial state density Nss and the transmission coefficient θn equal, respectively, to 4.33 × 1012 eV−1 cm−2, 4.08 × 10−3 under dark and 3.79 × 1012 eV−1 cm−2 and 5.65 × 10−3 under illumination. The deep discrete donor levels presence in the semiconductor bulk under dark and under illumination are responsible for the non-linearity of the C−2(VG) characteristic.  相似文献

The site-selective and time-resolved fluorescence laser spectroscopy and kinetic measurements with high spectral and nanosecond temporal resolution was applied to analyze the high-energy wing of the M and N absorption bands of the 4I9/2(1)→4G5/2(1) crystal-field (CF) transition in a CaF2:Nd3+ (0.6 wt%) crystal at 4.2 K. It was found that at helium temperatures the dynamically split spectral line assigned as the 4I9/2(1)→4G5/2(1) (CF) transition of coherently coupled Nd3+ ions in the pair M- and quartet N-centers of CaF2:Nd3+ (0.6 wt%) is inhomogeneously broadened. It consists of the pair M- and quartet N-centers with at least 0.1 A variation of the positions of the fluorescence-excitation spectral lines registered at the 4F3/2(1)→4I9/2(1) CF transition. Small fluorescence-lifetimes variation of the 4F3/2 and 4D3/2 levels from the small variation of the distances R between Nd3+ ions in the pair is found. At least 2.7% variation of the value of the Nd-Nd distance R in the pair M-center was determined from the lifetime variation of the 4F3/2 manifold with the assumption of a dipole-dipole interaction between the ions in the pair. The energy transfer up-conversion process responsible for the UV fluorescence observed when pumping the 4I9/2(1)→4G5/2(1) transition has been determined.  相似文献

The solid-state synthesis of magnetically soft phase FePd3 in epitaxial Pd(0 0 1)/Fe(0 0 1)/MgO(0 0 1) film systems was studied experimentally. The system had a Fe to Pd ratio of 1:3. An increase to 450 °C leads to the formation of three variants of ordered L10-FePd crystallites. At 500 °C, the solid-state reaction of unreacted Pd with L10-FePd crystallites initiates the growth of an ordered epitaxial L12-FePd3(0 0 1) layer. When annealing at 650 °С, a gradual disordering is observed. The magnetic anisotropy (K1=−2.0×103 erg/cm3) and the saturation magnetization (MS=650 emu/cm3) of the disordered FePd3 phase were determined.  相似文献

Reflection absorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS) has been used to investigate the adsorption of CO on CeO2−x-supported Pd nanoparticles at room temperature. The results show that when CeO2−x is initially grown on Pt(1 1 1), a small proportion of the surface remains as bare Pt sites. However, when Pd is deposited onto CeO2−x/Pt(1 1 1), most of the Pd grows directly on top of the CeO2−x(1 1 1). RAIR spectra of CO adsorption on 1 ML Pd/CeO2−x/Pt(1 1 1) show a broad CO-Pd band, which is inconsistent with a single crystal Pd surface. However, the 5 ML and 10 ML Pd/CeO2−x/Pt(1 1 1) spectra show vibrational bands consistent with the presence of Pd(1 1 1) and (1 0 0) faces, suggesting the growth of Pd nanostructures with well defined facets.  相似文献

The effects of H2 plasma pretreatment on the growth of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by varying the flow rate of the precursor gas mixture during microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD) have been investigated in this study. Gas mixture of H2 and CH4 with a ratio of 9:1 was used as the precursor for synthesizing CNTs on Ni-coated TiN/Si(1 0 0) substrates. The structure and composition of Ni catalyst nanoparticles were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy (XTEM). Results indicated that, by manipulating the morphology and density of the Ni catalyst nanoparticles via changing the flow rate of the precursor gas mixture, the vertically aligned CNTs could be effectively controlled. The Raman results also indicated that the intensity ratio of the G and D bands (ID/IG) is decreased with increasing gas flow rate. TEM results suggest H2 plasma pretreatment can effectively reduce the amorphous carbon and carbonaceous particles and, thus, is playing a crucial role in modifying the obtained CNTs structures.  相似文献

Upconversion (UC) luminescence in monodisperse NaYF4:Yb3+/Tb3+ nanocrystals was observed under diode laser excitation of 970 nm, which were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. UC emissions at 380, 413, 436 nm and at 488, 542, 584, 620 nm arise from transitions 5D3(5G6) → 7FJ(J = 6, 5, 4) and 5D4 → 7FJ(J = 6, 5, 4, 3) of Tb3+ ions, respectively. UC mechanisms are proposed based on spectral, kinetic, decay time measurements, and pump power dependence analyses. Blue, green and red emissions originate from the same long-lived (milliseconds) upper 5D4 state, which promises the potential applications of these monodisperse Yb3+/Tb3+-codoped NaYF4 nanocrystals in the field of photonics, lasers and biomedicine.  相似文献

The surfaces of untreated and helium plasma-based ion implantation (He PBII) treated poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) samples were characterised by reflectance colorimetry, contact angle studies and measurements of surface electrical resistance. The results were related to the structural and compositional data obtained by the authors earlier on parallel samples by XPS and Raman spectroscopy. Inverse correlations between lightness and ID/IG ratio and between chroma and ID/IG ratio were obtained, suggesting that the PBII-treated PET samples darken and their colourfulness decreases with the increase of the portion of aromatic sp2 carbon rings in the chemical structure of the modified layer. Direct correlation between water contact angle and the ID/IG ratio and inverse correlations between surface energy and ID/IG ratio and between dispersive component of surface energy and ID/IG ratio were found, reflecting that surface wettability, surface energy and its dispersive component decrease with the formation of surface structure, characterised again by enhanced portion of aromatic sp2 carbon rings. The surface electrical resistance decreased with the increase of the surface C-content determined by XPS and also with the increase of the surface concentration of conjugated double bonds, reflected by the increase of the π → π* shake-up satellite of the C 1s peak.  相似文献

We have used X-ray diffraction, volume magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant and resistance measurements to study solid-state synthesis in Ni(0 0 1)/Fe(0 0 1), Ni/Fe(0 0 1) and Ni/Fe thin films with the atomic ratio between Fe and Ni of 1:1 (1Fe:1Ni), and 3:1 (3Fe:1Ni). We have found that the formation of Ni3Fe and NiFe phases in the 1Fe:1Ni films takes place at temperatures ∼620 and ∼720 K, correspondingly. In the case of the 3Fe:1Ni films the solid-state synthesis starts with Ni3Fe and NiFe phase formation at the same temperatures as for the 1Fe:1Ni films. The increasing of annealing temperature above 820 K leads to the nucleation of a paramagnetic γpar phase at the FeNi/Fe interface. The final products of solid-state synthesis in the Ni(0 0 1)/Fe(0 0 1) thin films are crystallites which consist of the epitaxially intergrown NiFe and γpar phases according to the [1 0 0](0 0 1)NiFe||[1 0 0](0 0 1)γpar orientation relationship. The crystalline perfection and epitaxial growth of the (NiFe+γpar) crystallites on the MgO(0 0 1) surface allow to distinguish (0 0 2)γpar and (0 0 2)NiFe X-ray peaks (the cell parameters are: a(γpar)=0.3600±0.0005 nm and a(NiFe)=0.3578±0.0005 nm, correspondingly). At low temperatures the paramagnetic γpar phase undergoes the martensite γpar→αγparα phase transition which can be hindered by thermal and epitaxial strains and epitaxial clamping with a MgO substrate. On the basis of the studies of the thin-film solid-state synthesis we predict the existence of two novel structural phase transformations at the temperatures of about 720 and 820 K for alloys of the invar region of the Fe–Ni system.  相似文献

We report the variation of yield and quality of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of methane on iron oxide-MgO at 900-1000 °C for 1-60 min. The catalyst was prepared by impregnation of MgO powder with iron nitrate, dried, and calcined at 300 °C. As calcined and unreduced catalyst in quartz reactor was brought to the synthesis temperature in helium flow in a few minutes, and then the flow was switched to methane. The iron oxide was reduced to iron nanoparticles in methane, while the CNTs were growing.TEM micrographs, in accordance with Raman RBM peaks, indicate the formation of mostly single wall carbon nanotubes of about 1.0 nm size. High quality CNTs with IG/ID Raman peak ratio of 14.5 are formed in the first minute of CNTs synthesis with the highest rate. Both the rate and quality of CNTs degrades with increasing CNTs synthesis time. Also CNTs quality sharply declines with temperature in the range of 900-1000 °C, while the CNTs yield passes through a maximum at 950 °C. About the same CNTs lengths are formed for the whole range of the synthesis times. A model of continuous emergence of iron nanoparticle seeds for CNTs synthesis may explain the data. The data can also provide information for continuous production of CNTs in a fluidized bed reactor.  相似文献

Magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity, thermoelectric power and X-ray photoemission measurements were performed on a polycrystalline sample of CeCuIn. This compound crystallizes in a hexagonal structure of the ZrNiAl type. The magnetic data indicate that CeCuIn remains paramagnetic down to 1.9 K with a paramagnetic Curie temperature of −13 K and an effective magnetic moment equal to 2.5 μB. The electrical resistivity has metallic character, yet in the entire temperature range studied here, it is a strongly nonlinear function of temperature. The temperature dependence of the thermoelectric power is dominated by a small positive maximum near 76 K and a deep negative minimum at about 16 K. Above 150 K the thermopower exhibits a Mott's type behavior. The positive sign of the Seebeck coefficient in this temperature region indicates that the holes are dominant charge and heat carriers. The structure of Ce 3d5/2 and Ce 3d3/2 XPS spectra has been interpreted in terms of the Gunnarsson-Schönhammer theory. Three final-state contributions f0, f1 and f2 are clearly observed, which exhibit a spin-orbit splitting ΔSO≈18.7 eV. The appearance of the 3d9f0 component is a clear evidence of the intermediate valence behavior of Ce. From the intensity ratio I(f0)/[I(f0)+I(f1)+I(f2)] the 4f-occupation number is estimated to be 0.95. In turn, the ratio I(f2)/[I(f1)+I(f2)]=0.08 yields a measure of the hybridization energy that is equal to 45 meV.  相似文献

The irradiation of graphite surfaces with a simultaneous Fe supply have resulted into the development of various types of carbon nanocomposites. Their morphologies - diameter, density, length and apex angle strongly depend on the ratios of Fe deposition rate (DFe) to ion sputtering rate (Sion). By optimizing the ratio of DFe/Sion (2.40%), the denser and well-aligned Fe-carbon nanocomposite fibers (Fe-CNFs) could be obtained, whose average length and diameter were 0.95 μm and 17 nm, respectively. As confirmed by energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, the Fe-CNFs with amorphous-like or fine-polycrystalline phase were surely composed of carbon and Fe. Two types of growth models have been employed to explain the formation of metal-carbon nanocomposites.  相似文献

The borohydride reduction method was used to synthesize the Fe-based alloy nanoparticles in an aqueous medium for MR fluids. The effect of ethanol content in the reaction medium on the synthesis of Fe–Co–B nanoparticles was studied first. With increasing the ethanol content from 0 to 40 vol%, the average diameters of Fe–Co–B nanoparticles were decreased from 170 to 35 nm. The possible mechanism for the effect of ethanol has been proposed. Among the four types of Fe-based alloys particles synthesized in this work, Fe–B had the highest magnetization saturation Ms, while Ms decreased in an order of Fe–B>Fe–Co–B>Fe–Cr–B>Fe–Ni–B. A magnetic field of 3000 Oe was able to increase Ms by about 5–6% for each type of iron-based alloy. Under a magnetic field, chain structures of nanoparticles were always formed. When a strong magnetic field such as 3000 Oe was applied, the particles were “squeezed” into chains.  相似文献

Iron-oxypnictide superconductor NdFeAs(O0.9F0.1) was studied using both low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) and tunnel break junction (BJ) methods. STM topography showed granular and spot structures with a typical size of several nanometers, most probably governed by fluorine atom distribution. The majority of STS conductance, G, versus voltage, V, curves revealed V-shaped structures, whereas some of G(V) dependences possessed coherent gap peaks or kinks at gap energies. At the same time, G(V) dependences obtained by the BJ technique showed clear-cut coherence peaks with peak-to-peak distances Vpp = 4Δ/e ∼ 25 mV at 4.2 K, where Δ is the superconducting energy gap, > 0 is the elementary charge. This yields Δ(0) = 6–7 meV, so that the ratio 2Δ(0)/kBTc is about 3–4, kB being the Boltzmann constant. This value is consistent with the conventional weak-coupling s-wave Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer theory.  相似文献

Electrical conductivity dependence of thin metallic films of Au and Pd over the different perovskites was investigated. It is found from electrical properties that crystallographic growth orientation of Au and Pd thin layers attained from X-ray diffraction results indicate the slop of current (I)-voltage (V) plots. Besides, surface morphology and topography was considered using Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy, respectively. Obtained results showed the Stranski-Krastanov growth of the Pd and Au. Indeed, diminishing of the root-mean-square roughness of Pd/BiMnO3/SrTiO3 following by Au deposition should be concerned due to growth of Au onto the crack-like parts of the substrate. These crack-like parts appeared due to parasitic phases of the Bi-Mn-O system mainly Mn3O4 (l 0 l) and Mn3O4 (0 0 4 l).The different response in the electrical properties of heterostructures suggests that electrical conductance of the Au and Pd thin metallic films have the crystallographic orientation dependence. Furthermore, polycrystallinity of the thin metallic films are desired in electrode applications due to increase the conductivity of the metallic layers.  相似文献

The Pd-Ce interaction was studied over CeO2 (0.3-2.5 wt.%)-Pd (1 wt.%)/α-Al2O3 catalysts used in the reforming reaction of CH4 with CO2. The samples were characterized by using high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The activity and selectivity behavior was in good agreement with that of other supported metal catalysts (Ni and Pd) modified with different promoters. The preliminary results of HRTEM would indicate that the CeOx forms small crystallites around the Pd particle. The XPS analysis for the regions of Ce 3d and Pd 3d, gives an account of Ce being present mostly as Ce3+ and a high binding energy for Pd 3d5/2 (335.3 eV), an evidence of Pd-Ce chemical interaction. The Pd/Al XPS intensity ratios vs. the Pd average particle size, determined by TEM, show an excellent correlation for fresh and used catalyst. These results indicate that the diminution of the Pd/Al ratios was due to Pd sintering. Consequently, the small amounts of CeOx species do not cover the Pd particle, in agreement with the HRTEM results. The overall results stand for the promoter action mechanism of the CeOx for the reforming reaction with CO2.  相似文献

Enhancement spectra of the collision-induced absorption in the first overtone region 5500-6750 cm−1 of D2 in the D2-Ar, D2-Kr, and D2-Xe binary mixtures were studied at 298 K for base densities of D2 in the range 55-251 amagat and for partial densities of Ar, Kr, and Xe in the range 46-384 amagat. The observed spectra consist of the following quadrupolar transitions: O2(3), O2(2), Q2 (J), J = 1-5 and S2 (J), J = 0-5 of D2. Binary and ternary absorption coefficients were determined from the integrated absorption coefficients of the band. Profile analyses of the spectra were carried out using the Birnbaum-Cohen (BC) lineshape function and characteristic lineshape parameters were determined from the analyses.  相似文献
