A series of rare-earth doped BiFeO3 samples, Bi1−xRxFeO3 (x=0-1, R=La, Nd, Sm, Eu and Tb), were prepared in this work. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the structure of rare-earth doped BiFeO3 was transformed from rhombohedral lattice to orthorhombic one by increasing x. The lattice constants and unit-cell volume decreased with the increasing of the doping content, while both the Néel temperature and magnetization were enhanced. A magnetic phase transition was observed at about 35 K for BiFeO3. The variation of the magnetization with temperature depended on applied field strength and magnetizing history, which was explained according to the antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between Fe and R sites in Bi1−xRxFeO3(x>0). The magnetocrystalline anisotropy contributed by Fe sublattice gave rise to a large coercivity in BixNd1−xFeO3 with an orthorhombic structure.  相似文献

The structure and magnetostriction of Tb0.2Pr0.8(Fe0.4Co0.6)1.93−xCx intermetallic compounds were studied by X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. Almost a single cubic Laves phase forms in the alloys for x ≤0.20, and a small amount of C can inhibit the formation of the 1:3 phase. The lattice parameter increases when 0≤x≤0.15, while the Tc and the spontaneous magnetization decreases with increasing x. The lattice parameter decreases slowly when 0.15≤x≤0.30, while the Tc decreases evidently with increasing x. The magnetostriction λa (=λ-λ) is improved at low magnetic fields at room temperature for the compounds with 0.05≤x≤0.10, indicating that these C-containing compounds are promising magnetostrictive materials.  相似文献

The structural, magnetic and electrical transport properties of Zn-doped antiperovskite compounds Ga1−xZnxCMn3 (0≤x≤0.30) have been investigated. After partial substitution of Zn for Ga, the Curie temperature increases monotonously and the ground antiferromagnetic (AFM)-ferromagnetic intermediate (FI) phase transition is gradually suppressed. With increasing the doping level x, the saturated magnetizations decreases gradually firstly for x≤0.20, then increases with increasing x. The electrical transport properties of Ga1−xZnxCMn3 are studied at different magnetic fields. Enhanced giant magnetoresistance (GMR) was observed around the AFM-FI transition. With increasing x, the maximal values and peak widths of GMR increase. Particularly, for x=0.20, GMR reaches a maximum value of 75%, spanning a temperature range of 80 K at 50 kOe and displays the behavior of strongly depending on the magnetization history. The possible origins are discussed.  相似文献

The magnetization and electrical resistivity of Mn3−xFexSnC (0.5≤x≤1.3) were measured to investigate the behavior of the complicated magnetic phase transitions and electronic transport properties from 5 to 300 K. The results obtained demonstrate that Fe doping at the Mn sites of Mn3SnC induces a more complicated magnetic phase transition than that in its parent phase Mn3SnC from a paramagnetic (PM) state to a ferrimagnetic (FI) state consisting of antiferromagnetic (AFM) and ferromagnetic (FM) components, while, with the change of Fe-doped content and magnetic field, there is a competition between the AFM component and FM component in the FI state. Both the Curie temperature (TC) and the saturated magnetization Ms increase with increasing x. The FM component region becomes broader with further increasing Fe-doped content x. The external magnetic field easily creates a saturated FM state (and increased TC) when . Fe doping quenches the negative thermal expansion (NTE) behavior from 200 to 250 K reported in Mn3SnC.  相似文献

We report the effects of Al doping on the structure, magnetic properties, and magnetocaloric effect of antiperovskite compounds Ga1−xAlxCMn3 (0≤x≤0.15). Partial substitutions of Al for Ga enhance the Curie temperature (from 250 K for x=0.0 to 312 K for x=0.15) and the saturation magnetization. On increasing the doping level x, the maximum values of the magnetic entropy change (−ΔSM) decreases while the temperature span of ΔSM vs. T plot broadens. Furthermore, the relative cooling power (RCP) is also studied. For 20 kOe, the RCP value tends to saturate at a high doping level (for x=0.12, 119 J/kg at 296 K). However, at 45 kOe, the RCP value increases quickly with increasing x (for x=0.15, 293 J/kg at 312 K). Considering the relatively large RCP and inexpensive raw materials, Ga1−xAlxCMn3 may be alternative candidates for room-temperature magnetic refrigeration.  相似文献

Fe-doped (Ba1−xSrx)TiO3 ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction, and ferromagnetism was realized at room temperature. The microstructure and magnetism were modified by the Sr concentration control (0≤x≤75 at%) at a fixed Fe concentration, and the relevant magnetic exchange mechanism was discussed. All the samples are shown to have a single perovskite structure. When increasing the Sr concentration, the phase structure is transformed from a hexagonal perovskite into a cubic perovskite, with a monotonic decrease in lattice parameters induced by ionic size effect. The room-temperature ferromagnetism is expected to originate from the super-exchange interactions between Fe3+ on pentahedral and octahedral Ti sites mediated by the O2− ions. The increase in Sr addition modifies two main influencing factors in magnetic properties: the ratio of pentahedral to octahedral Fe3+ and the concentration of oxygen vacancies, leading to a gradually enhanced saturation magnetization. The highest value, obtained for Fe-doped (Ba0.25Sr0.75)TiO3, is an order of magnitude higher than that of the Fe-doped BaTiO3 system with similar Fe concentration and preparation conditions, which may indicate (Ba1−xSrx)TiO3 as a more suitable matrix material for multiferroic research.  相似文献

La and Co co-doped BiFeO3 ((Bi1−xLax)(Fe0.95Co0.05)O3 (x=0, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30)) ceramics were prepared by tartaric acid modified sol–gel method. The X-ray diffraction patterns indicate a transition from rhombohedral structure to tetragonal structure at x=0.20, which has been confirmed by the Raman measurements. The band gap increases with increasing x to 0.20, and then decreases with further increasing x to 0.30. The structural transition has significant effects on the multiferroic properties. The remnant magnetization and saturate ferromagnetic magnetization decrease abruptly with increasing x to 0.10, and then gradually increase with further increasing x up to 0.30. The coercivity is significantly reduced with increasing La doping concentration. The ferroelectricity has been improved by La doping, and the polarization increases with increasing x to 0.10, then decreases with further increasing x up to 0.30. The simultaneous coexistence of soft ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity at room temperature in tetragonal Bi0.70La0.30Fe0.95Co0.05O3 indicates the potential multiferroic applications.  相似文献

In this study, effect of lanthanum substitution on the phase composition, lattice parameters and magnetic properties of barium hexaferrite has been studied in samples synthesized in ammonium nitrate melt. Samples, prepared with different lanthanum amount and having various initial Fe/(Ba+La) ratios in between 12 and 2 {(Ba1−xLaxn Fe2O3, where 0≤x≤1 and 1≤n≤6)}, are sintered at temperatures from 800 to 1200 °C. The lattice parameters, both a and c, decreases with increasing La amount which results in a decrease of the unit cell volume. The scanning electron microscope micrographs show that the pure and La-substituted sample with x=0.3, both calcinated at 1000 °C, have grain sizes smaller than 1 μm. The coercivities of the La-substituted samples increase with increasing La amount and reaches to a maximum value of 5.73 kOe, when x=0.3. Sintering at higher temperatures (above 1000 °C) decreases the coercivity, resembling a transition from single to multi-domain behavior of the particles, while saturation magnetization of the samples continues to increase due to the increasing grain size. Magnetization measurements of the samples prepared with different Fe/(Ba+La) molar ratios, n's, revealed that the specific saturation magnetization slightly increases with decreasing n, while coercivities fluctuates around 5.5 kOe. However, a sharp increase in the saturation magnetization has been observed in the sample having n=1 and washed in HCl. It was measured as 59.2 emu/g at 15 kOe, which is higher than that of the pure sample (57.5 emu/g). Thus, the magnetic parameters are optimized in the sample Ba0.7La0.3Fe12O19 so as to maximize both coercivity and specific saturation magnetization in the HCl-washed sample synthesized by starting with an unusually low Fe/(Ba+La) molar ratio of 2 (or n=1).  相似文献

Single-phase M-type hexagonal ferrites Sr1−xLaxFe12O19 (0≤x≤1) were prepared by a ceramic route. The stability limits of the ferrite phases were determined with a combination of various microscopy techniques, electron-probe micro-analysis, powder X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis. SrFe12O19 (x=0) is stable up to 1420 °C, whereas LaFe12O19 (x=1) exists between 1360 and 1400 °C only. The lattice parameters of Sr1−xLaxFe12O19 exhibit a linear variation with x, i.e. a0 slightly increases and c0 decreases with x, leading to a decrease of the unit cell volume with x. The saturation magnetization at T=5 K decreases with increasing La concentration. Room temperature Mössbauer analysis shows that the Fe3+/Fe2+ valence change occurs in the 2a sites for the whole composition range.  相似文献

The structure and magnetic properties of La1−xTbxMn2Si2 (0≤x≤0.3) were studied by X-ray powder diffraction and DC magnetization measurements. All the compounds crystallize in ThCr2Si2-type structure. Substitution of Tb for La led to a linear decrease in the lattice constants and the unit-cell volume. A ferromagnetic phase for x≤0.15, and an antiferromagnetic phase for x=0.3 have been observed at about room temperature, whereas the compounds with x=0.2 and 0.25 exhibit a magnetic phase transition from ferromagnetism to antiferromagnetism.  相似文献

The structure and magnetostriction of the (Tb1−xDyx)0.2Pr0.8(Fe0.4Co0.6)1.88C0.05 intermetallic compounds (0≤x≤1) were studied by X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. The formation of an approximate single Laves phase with a MgCu2-type cubic structure was observed in this series of compounds. It was found that the Curie temperature and the saturation magnetization of the compounds would decrease with increase in the Dy content up to x=1. The magnetostriction λa (λa=λ-λ) gently rises when x≤0.6, and follows with a precipitous fall when x exceeds 0.6, with the highest value of λa being reached in the compounds with x=0.6. The magnetostriction of all the samples was observed to approach their own saturation in the magnetic fields higher than 4 kOe. This indicates that the addition of a small amount of Dy could effectively improve the low-field magnetostriction of the Tb0.2Pr0.8(Fe0.4Co0.6)1.88C0.05 compounds, which could become a kind of promising magnetostrictive material.  相似文献

Nano-sized NiFe2−xLaxO4 ferrites (x=0.00, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, 0.5, 0.07 and 0.09) were synthesized for the first time by using metal nitrate and egg-white extract in aqueous medium. The ferrites were characterized by DTA-TG, XRD, TEM, FT-IR and VSM techniques. The thermal decomposition behavior revealed that the precursors were completely decomposed at about 420 °C. TEM image shows agglomerated nanoparticles with crystallite sizes agrees well with that estimated by XRD measurement. XRD patterns show a secondary phase of LaFeO3 besides the cubic structure of the La-substituted ferrites. The lattice parameters, X-ray density and crystallite size were found to increase with the increasing La content. The VSM measurement exhibited a ferromagnetic property for all the samples at room temperature. With increasing La, Ms was found to decrease while Hc increased. The decrease in the saturation magnetization is attributed to the paramagnetic properties of lanthanum, which prefer to substitute iron present in the octahedral sites. The increase in the coercivity is due to either the stronger magnetocrystalline anisotropy induced by La substitution or the change in the crystallite size.  相似文献

The effects of Mn substitutions on the crystal structure, magnetic properties, and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of antiperovskite Sn1−xCMn3+x (0≤x≤0.40) have been investigated detailedly. Both the Curie temperature (TC) and the magnetizations at 40 kOe decrease with increasing x firstly for x≤0.10, and then increase with increasing x further. The type of magnetic transition changes from first-order to second-order around x=0.10 with increasing x. Chemical composition-dependent MCE is also studied around TC. With increasing x, the maximal magnetic entropy changes decrease and the magnetic phase transitions broaden. Accordingly, the relative cooling power (RCP) increases with increasing x, reaching the largest values of ∼0.56 J/cm3 (∼75 J/kg) and ∼1.66 J/cm3 (∼221 J/kg) with the magnetic changes of 20 kOe and 48 kOe, respectively. Considering the large RCP, inexpensive, and innoxious raw materials, these serial samples Sn1−xCMn3+x are suggested to be potential room-temperature magnetic refrigerant materials.  相似文献

The structural, magnetic and transport properties of La1+xK1−xFe1−yCoyMoO6 (0.0≤x≤0.1 and 0.1≤y≤0.2) series are studied. At room temperature, the crystal structure is a monoclinic system with space group P21/n. The antisite defect lowers with Co doping in LaKFe1−yCoyMoO6 series. However, it increases with the substitution of K by La. Magnetizations increase with the increase in Co content (x=0) and with the La substitution for K, respectively. All compounds demonstrate semiconducting behavior. Their electrical resistivities increase with Co content for LaKFe1−yCoyMoO6 and also increase with La for La1+xK1−xFe1−yCoyMoO6. For the LaKFe1−yCoyMoO6 the electrical transport behavior can be described by Mott variable range hopping model in the studied temperature range, whereas for the La1+xK1−xFe1−yCoyMoO6 (x≠0 and y≠0) the electrical transport behavior follows the Mott and ES variable range hopping model in high and low temperature ranges, respectively. Each sample exhibits a large magnetoresistance effect.  相似文献

The photoluminescence properties of Y1−x(PO3)3:xEu3+ (0<x≤0.2) are investigated. The excitation spectrum of Y0.85(PO3)3:0.15Eu3+ shows that both the (PO3)33− groups and the CT bands of O2−-Y3+ can efficiently absorb the excitation energy in the region of 120-250 nm. Under 147 nm excitation, the optimal emissive intensity of Y1−x(PO3)3:xEu3+ (0<x≤0.2) is about 36% of the commercial phosphor (Y,Gd)BO3:Eu3+, which hints that the absorbed energy by the host matrix could be efficiently transferred to Eu3+. We try to study the concentration quenching mechanism of Y1−x(PO3)3:xEu3+ (0<x≤0.2) under 147 and 172 nm excitation.  相似文献

ZrW2O8 displays the unusual property of an isotropic bulk contraction in volume as a function of temperature. We report here on the positive thermal expansion (PTE) property caused by substituting Mo for W sites in ZrW2O8 at room temperature. The room temperature crystal structure of ZrW2−xMoxO8 compounds, which were synthesized using a low temperature route, could be divided into ordered phase with α-ZrW2O8 structure (0≤x≤0.5) and disordered phase with β-ZrW2O8 (0.5<x≤1.5) and c-ZrMo2O8 structure (1.5<x≤2). ZrW2−xMoxO8 adopting β-ZrW2O8 structure shows abnormal PTE property at room temperature due to the existence of water molecules, while ZrW2−xMoxO8 adopting the other two structures (α-ZrW2O8 and c-ZrMo2O8) shows negative thermal expansion (NTE) property from room temperature until decomposition for α-ZrW2O8 structure or trigonal phase transition for c-ZrMo2O8 structure. The reason lies in the fact that the oxygen migration caused by the Mo substitution leads to the re-arrangement of W(Mo)O4 tetrahedra lying along the 3-fold axis, only particular W/Mo ratio (0.5<x≤1.5) produces a special crystal structure, which allows the entrance of water molecules.  相似文献

Ferrite samples of the composition Cu0.5−xNi0.5ZnxFe2O4 (0.0≤x≤0.5) were synthesized by chemical co-precipitation. The samples exhibited a single phase cubic spinel structure, and the saturation magnetization of the samples was found to increase with increasing Zn content. Using a quantum mechanical method proposed by our group, the cation distributions in the samples were estimated. Estimated cation distributions obtained by fitting the magnetic moments of the samples were then used to perform Rietveld fitting for X-ray diffraction patterns. The acceptable error parameters in the Rietveld fitting indicate that the estimated cation distributions in the samples are reasonable.  相似文献

Pure Li6CaB3O8.5 and Li6Ca1−xPbxB3O8.5 (0.005≤x≤0.04) materials were prepared by a solution combustion synthesis method. The phase of synthesized materials was determined using the powder XRD and FTIR. The synthesized materials were investigated using spectrofluorometer at room temperature. The emission and excitation bands of the synthesized phosphors were observed at 307 and 268 nm, respectively. The dependence of the emission intensity on the Pb2+ concentration for the Li6Ca1−xPbxB3O8.5 (0.005≤x≤0.04) was studied and observed that the optimum concentration of Pb2+ in phosphor is 0.01 mol. The Stokes shift of the synthesized phosphor was calculated to be 4740 cm-1.  相似文献

Using density-functional calculations, we investigate the special properties of SrFe1−xCoxO3. The results show that the ground states have A-type antiferromagnetic order for x=0.1 and ferromagnetic order for x≥0.2 with Co ions distributed averagely. SrFe1−xCoxO3 exhibits half-metallic nature for 0.2≤x≤0.7 and full-metallic nature for other values of x, and the half-metallic gap decreases with increasing x. The tunneling between the half-metallic ferromagnetic phases drives the large magnetoresistance. In addition, the Co cations are in the intermediate-spin state, while the Fe cations are in the intermediate-spin state for x≤0.5 and the high-spin state for x≥0.6.  相似文献

We report an investigation of the nature of room-temperature ferromagnetism enhancement in Ce1−xCrxO2−δ nanoparticles (0.00≤x≤0.05), synthesized by a sol–gel-based method. Energy-dispersed X-ray spectrometry (EDS) analysis was used to estimate the dopant concentrations. The average crystallite sizes and particle size were estimated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), respectively. Both studies showed a gradual decrease in the size of the crystallites and particles for x>0.01. Cr can substitute for Ce in the crystal lattice, and the Raman measurements indicated that structural defects in the samples increased as a function of the Cr content in the CeO2 crystal lattice. The surface topography, examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), showed that the undoped sample has a porous and loosely organized structure, whereas the Cr-doped samples exhibited a dense and compact structure. Magnetic measurements of the Ce1−xCrxO2−δ samples at 27 oC showed a maximum remanent magnetization value of 0.01 emu/g for x=0.05. The nature and enhancement of room-temperature ferromagnetism was interpreted by taking into account the exchange interaction between Cr3+ ions and oxygen vacancies in CeO2.  相似文献
