The impact of electron exchange-correlation term on the linear and nonlinear quantum ion (QIA) acoustic drift waves in a highly degenerate plasma is investigated. An analytical approach is employed to derive the differential equation which is later on turned into Sagdeev energy integral equation that can be utilized to get drift solitons under existence conditions. It is noted that phase speed/frequency of the linear drift quantum ion acoustic (QIA) waves increases with electron exchange-correlation effect, but the amplitude of the corresponding solitons decreases with inclusion of these effects. Present study is carried out with reference to highly dense plasma environments like fast ignition inertial confinement fusion and white dwarfs etc.  相似文献

The problem of two-dimensional arbitrary amplitude low-frequency electrostatic oscillation in a quasi-neutral quantum plasma is solved exactly by elementary means. In such quantum plasmas we have treated electrons quantum mechanically and ions classically. The exact analytical solution of the nonlinear system exhibits the formation of dark and black solitons. Numerical simulation also predicts the possible periodic solution of the nonlinear system. Nonlinear analysis reveals that the system does have a bifurcation at a critical Mach number that depends on the angle of propagation of the wave. The small-amplitude limit leads to the formation of weakly nonlinear Kadomstev–Petviashvili solitons.  相似文献

We study analytically the properties of the optical absorption and the spatial weak-light solitons in a quantum dot molecule system with the interdot tunneling coupling (ITC). It is shown that, for the linear case, there exists tunneling induced transparency (TIT) in the context of a weak ITC, while the TIT can be replaced by Autler-Townes splitting in the presence of a strong ITC. For the nonlinear case, it is probable to realize the spatial optical solitons even under weak light intensity. Interestingly, we find that there appears transformation behavior between the bright and dark solitons by properly turning both the ITC strength and the detuning of the probe field. Meanwhile, the transformation condition of the bright and dark solitons is obtained. Additionally it is also found that the amplitude of the solitons first descends and then rises with the increasing of ITC strength. Our results may have potential applications for nonlinear optical experiments and optical telecommunication engineering in solid systems.  相似文献

In order to investigate the propagation characteristics of linear and non-linear ion acoustic waves (IAWs) in electron–positron–ion quantum plasma in the presence of external weak magnetic field, we have used a quantum hydrodynamic model, and degenerate statistics for the electrons and positrons are taken into account. It is found that the linear dispersion relation of the IAW was modified by the externally applied magnetic field. By using the reductive perturbation technique, a gyration-modified Korteweg-de Vries equation is derived for finite amplitude non-linear IAWs. Time-dependent numerical simulation shows the formation of an oscillating tail in front of the ion acoustic solitons in the presence of a weak magnetic field. It is also seen that the amplitude and width of solitons and oscillating tails are affected by the relevant plasma parameters such as quantum diffraction, positron concentration, and magnetic field. We have performed our analysis by extending it to account for approximate soliton solution by asymptotic perturbation technique and non-linear analysis via a dynamical system approach. The analytical results show the distortion of the shape of the localized soliton with time, and the non-linear analysis confirms the generation of oscillating tails.  相似文献

The nonlinear ion-acoustic wave excitation and its stability analysis are investigated in a magnetized quantum plasma with exchange-correlation and Bohm diffraction effects of degenerate electrons in the model. Using reductive perturbation technique, the Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived for two dimensional propagation of ion-acoustic wave in a magnetized quantum plasma. It is found that the phase speed, amplitude and width of the nonlinear ion-acoustic wave structures are affected in the presence of exchange-correlation potential in the model. The stability analysis of the 2D ion-acoustic wave pulse is also presented. It is found that growth rate of the first and second order instabilities of 2D ion acoustic wave soliton is enhanced with the inclusion of exchange-correlation potential effect in the model.  相似文献

In this paper, we have studied the propagation of non-linear ion-acoustic waves in a plasma comprising of (r, q) -distributed electrons and kappa-distributed positrons. We have investigated the effect of complete electron distribution profile on the propagation of small, as well as arbitrary, amplitude solitons (via pseudopotential technique) by using generalized (r, q) distribution, which exhibits a spiky and flat top nature at low energies and a super-thermal tail at high energies. Interestingly, for negative values of r , solitons are formed with both polarities, positive (compressive) and negative (rarefactive), separately within a small amplitude limit and exist simultaneously in an arbitrary amplitude limit. We also found that the propagation of solitons has been affected by the change in parameters r , q , positron concentration, and electron to positron temperature ratio. The results presented in this study add to the fundamental understanding of the complete profile of the electron distribution function, high- and low-energy parts, and in the formation of compressive and rarefactive small and finite amplitude solitons in both space and astrophysical plasmas.  相似文献

Based on the quantum Magnetohydrodynamic (QMHD) model, the obliquely propagation of electrostatic waves in degenerate magnetized quantum plasmas with electron exchange-correlation effects are theoretically investigated. The modified linear dispersion relations of electrostatic waves are obtained and discussed in some specific cases. The analytical results clearly show that the dispersion properties of the high frequency electron waves (including the Langmuir wave and upper-hybrid wave) and the low frequency ion acoustic wave are modified by the quantum effects together with the electron exchange-correlation effects. The numerical results depict that the Langmuir wave and upper-hybrid wave can be unstable in the presence of the electron exchange-correlation effects, and it is also evidently indicated that the electron exchange-correlation effects can reduce the phase velocity of the waves, especially in the high wave number region. The corresponding results should be of relevance for identifying electrostatic fluctuations which transport in an inhomogeneous and magnetized quantum plasmas.  相似文献

Taking into account the effects of electron exchange-correlation potential, particle collisions, the nonlinear dynamical properties of planar and nonplanar (cylindrical and spherical) electrostatic ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) are investigated theoretically and numerically in quantum plasmas. With the aid of quantum hydrodynamic model and the reductive perturbation technique, the planar and nonplanar dispersive-dissipative equations (modified Kakutani–Kawahara equations) are obtained to elucidate the nonlinear quantum IAW profiles. The influences of the electron exchange-correlation potential, Bohm potential and collisional effects in the wave dynamics are studied. For a typical parametric range, relevant for laboratory and astrophysical environments, it is found that the contribution from exchange-correlation potential to be prominent in comparison to the effect due to the Bohm potential. Also, numerical simulation predicts that the dissipation induced by the particle collisions leads to the evolution of low frequency shock structures in dense quantum plasmas.  相似文献

An analysis, based on the variational approach, is carried out of the interaction between two fully coherent solitons as well as two partially coherent soliton stripes in a medium with logarithmic nonlinearity. For the coherent case, it is found that the interaction can be both attractive and repulsive depending on the relative phase. The different interaction scenarios involve a bound system where the distance between the solitons oscillates with various magnitude of the oscillation amplitude, including total coalescence, and another where the solitons separate asymptotically. The effect of partial coherence on the soliton interaction is also studied by analyzing the interaction between two partially coherent soliton stripes. It is found that the strength as well as the character (attractive/repulsive) of the interaction changes for decreasing coherence. Thus, the general interaction properties of solitons in logarithmic nonlinear media are qualitatively similar to those of solitons in nonlinear Kerr media.  相似文献

We study the effect of a nearby phase-conjugate mirror (PCM) on the gap soliton of a Kerr non-linear periodic structure. We show that phase conjugation of the gap soliton (in the sense of replication of the amplitude profile in the reverse direction) is possible under the condition of PCM reflectivity approaching unity. This is in contrast with the results for linear structures, where the wave profiles can be conjugated for arbitrary values of the PCM reflectivity. The sensitivity of the conjugation of the gap solitons to PCM reflectivity is ascribed to the fine balance of non-linearity with dispersion, necessary for their existence.

Using a Backlund transformation and the variable separation approach, we find there exist abundant localized coherent structures for the (2 + 1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup-Kupershmidt (BKK) system. The abundance of the localized structures for the model is introduced by the entrance of an arbitrary function of the seed solution. For some specialselections of the arbitrary function, it is shown that the localized structures of the BKK equation may be dromions, lumps, ring solitons, peakons, or fractal solitons etc.  相似文献

Arbitrary amplitude dust-acoustic (DA) solitary waves in an unmagnetized and collisionless quantum dusty plasma comprising cold dust particles, kappa (κ)-distributed ions and degenerate electrons are investigated. The influence of suprathermality and quantum effects on the linear dispersion relation of DA waves is investigated. Then, the effect of κ-distributed ions and degenerate electrons on the existence domain of solitons is discussed in the space of (M, f). The comparison of the existence domain for higher and lower values of κ shows that suprathermality results in propagation of solitons with lower Mach number, and the quantum effects, lead to a higher values of Mach number. The existence domain of solitons for nondegenerate κ-distributed electrons is considered for comparison with effect of degenerate electrons. Also, we found that the Sagdeev potential well becomes deeper and wider as ε F???i decreases, as for lower κ values, the influence of quantum effects on the Sagdeev pseudopotential profile is smaller.  相似文献

Ion acoustic dressed solitons in a three component plasma consisting of cold ions, hot electrons and positrons are studied. Using reductive perturbation method, Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation and a linear inhomogeneous equation, governing respectively the evolution of first and second order potentials are derived for the system. Renormalization procedure of Kodama and Taniuti is used to obtain nonsecular solutions of these coupled equations. It is found that electron–positron–ion plasma system supports only compressive solitons. For a given amplitude of soliton on increasing the positron concentration, velocity of the KdV as well as dressed soliton increases. For any arbitrary values of soliton's amplitude and positron concentration, velocity of the dressed soliton is found to be larger than that of the KdV soliton. For small amplitude of solitons, the width of KdV as well as dressed soliton decreases as positron concentration increases and width of dressed soliton is found to be larger than that of the KdV soliton. However, for a large value of soliton's amplitude as concentration of positrons increases, instead of decreasing width of dressed soliton starts to increase.  相似文献

This paper presents a family of soliton solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrdinger equation which describes the dynamics of the dark solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates with an arbitrary x-dependent external potential. The obtained results show that the external potential has an important effect on the dark soliton dynamical characteristics of the condensates. The amplitude, width, and velocity of the output soliton are relative to the source position of the external potential. The smaller the amplitude of the soliton is,the narrower its width is,and the slower the soliton propagates. The collision of two dark solitons is nearly elastic.  相似文献

Large amplitude dust ion acoustic (DIA) solitons as well as double layers (DLs) are studied in a dusty plasma having a high-energy-tail electron distribution. The influence of electron deviation from the Maxwellian distribution and ion streaming on the existence domain of solitons is discussed in the (M, f) space using the pseudo-potential approach. It is found that in the presence of streaming ions and for a fixed f, solitons may appear for larger values of M. This means that in the presence of ion streaming, high values of the Mach number are needed to have soliton. The DIA solitary waves profile is highly sensitive to the ion streaming speed. Their amplitude is found to decrease with an increase of the ion streaming speed. In addition, we find that the ion streaming effect may lead to the appearance of double layers. The results of this axticle should be useful in understanding the basic nonlinear features of DIA waves propagating in space dusty plasmas, especially those including a relative motion between species, such as comet tails and solar wind streams, etc.  相似文献

We present the results of numerical study of the evolution of wave packets and envelope soliton interaction in terms of the third-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation. It is shown that an arbitrary initial pulse evolves to a few solitons and a linear quasiperiodic wave. The interaction of solitons is accompanied by the radiation of part of the wave field in the form of a linear quasiperiodic wave from the interaction region, amplification of the soliton with larger amplitude and attenuation of the soliton with smaller amplitude.  相似文献

The nonlinear dynamics of a vector two-component optical pulse propagating in quasi-resonance conditions in a medium of nonsymmetric quantum objects is investigated for Stark splitting of quantum energy levels by an external electric field. We consider the case when the ordinary component of the optical pulse induces ?? transitions, while the extraordinary component induces the ?? transition and shifts the frequencies of the allowed transitions due to the dynamic Stark effect. It is found that under Zakharov-Benney resonance conditions, the propagation of the optical pulse is accompanied by generation of an electromagnetic pulse in the terahertz band and is described by the vector generalization of the nonlinear Yajima-Oikawa system. It is shown that this system (as well as its formal generalization with an arbitrary number of optical components) is integrable by the inverse scattering transformation method. The corresponding Darboux transformations are found for obtaining multisoliton solutions. The influence of transverse effects on the propagation of vector solitons is investigated. The conditions under which transverse dynamics leads to self-focusing (defocusing) of solitons are determined.  相似文献

We study the extended Korteweg-de Vries equation, that is, the usual Korteweg-de Vries equation but with the inclusion of an extra cubic nonlinear term, for the case when the coefficient of the cubic nonlinear term has an opposite polarity to that of the coefficient of the linear dispersive term. As this equation is integrable, the number and type of solitons formed can be determined from an appropriate spectral problem. For initial disturbances of small amplitude, the number and type of solitons generated is similar to the well-known situation for the Korteweg-de Vries equation. However, our interest here is in initial disturbances of larger amplitude, for which there is the possibility of the generation of large-amplitude "table-top" solitons as well as small-amplitude solitons similar to the solitons of the Korteweg-de Vries equation. For this case, and in contrast to some earlier results which assumed that an initial disturbance in the shape of a rectangular box would be typical, we show that the number and type of solitons formed depend crucially on the disturbance shape, and change drastically when the initial disturbance is changed from a rectangular box to a "sech"-profile.
