We report on a laser diode end-pumped Nd:YAG blue laser using a three-mirror-folded cavity. Three different crystals cut for type-I critical phase matching are used for the intra-cavity frequency doubling of the laser: 10-mm-long LiB3O5 (LBO), 15-mm-long LBO, and 10-mm-long BiB3O6 (BIBO). Up to 2.41 W of continuous wave output power in the blue spectral range at 473 nm is achieved with BIBO crystal (1.89 W with LBO) at the incident pump power of 16 W, the light-to-light conversion efficiency is about 15.1%.  相似文献

A folded four-mirror cavity with a composite Nd:YAG rod is optimized to obtain high efficient cw 473nm blue output. The laser could operate stably in the region of the thermal-lens focal length from 20mm to 70mm. LBO is used for intracavity frequency doubling of the 946nm transition of Nd:YAG and the optimum LBO length is investigated. A maximum output power of 2.1 Win the blue spectral range at 473nm is achieved with 30-mm-long LBO, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 9.1%.  相似文献

从理论上分析了准三能级系统946 nmNd:YAG全固态激光器运转的条件,并比较了几种不同的倍频晶体的特性,给出内腔倍频获得473 nm蓝光发射的方案。用波长808 nm、输出功率为2.2 W的半导体激光器泵浦Nd:YAG,采用内腔倍频的方法,在一定的温度下,用Ⅰ类临界相位匹配B IBO晶体倍频获得了473 nm 26.5 mW的单模连续蓝色激光输出,功率波动小于±5%。  相似文献

Efficient cw intracavity frequency doubling of a diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG laser operating on 4 F 3/24 I 9/2 transitions at 946 nm has been demonstrated. A symmetrical cavity with two composite laser rods was designed, which divides the pump power between the two composite laser rods, allowing for greater power scalability. A 30-mm-long LiB3O5 (LBO) crystal, cut for critical type I phase matching at 57 °C, was used for the intracavity frequency doubling of the laser. A maximum output power of 3.8 W in the blue spectral range at 473 nm has been achieved at 39 W of pump power. The beam quality M2 value is 2.3 in both horizontal and vertical dimensions. A compact and simple design for an LDA-end-pumped intracavity doubling high-power blue laser with a composite Nd:YAG laser on the 4F3/2 to 4I9/2 laser transition in a flat-curved cavity is demonstrated. The nonlinear crystal used in the experiment is an LBO crystal cut for phase-matching type I. Through the thermo-lensing effect of the laser crystal at high-pumped power, the optimum mode-matched and efficient intracavity doubling are realized at the same time. The maximum output power at 473 nm was 600 mW when the absorbed, pumped power of 15 W, and the optical-to-optical conversion efficiency is 4%. The stability of blue output power is 3.2% within 2 h.  相似文献

We report on a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser with 4.6 W of linear polarized continuous-wave (cw) output power on the 4F3/2 --> 4I9/2 transitions at 946 nm. Three different crystals, cut for critical type I phase matching at room temperature, are used for the intracavity frequency doubling of the laser: 10-mm-long LiBaO5 (LBO), an 8-mm-long beta-BaB2O4 (BBO), and a 10.4-mm-long BiB3O6 (BiBO) grown by FEE GmbH. We report for the first time a continuous-wave (CW) blue-green radiation at 504 nm by intracavity sum-frequency generation of 946 nm Nd:YAG laser and 1080 nm Nd:YAlO3 (Nd:YAP) laser. Using type-I critical phase matching LiB3O5 (LBO) crystal, 504 nm blue-green laser was obtained by 946 and 1080 nm intra-cavity sum-frequency mixing, and output power of 215 mW was demonstrated. At the output power level of 215 mW, the output power stability is better than 4.7% and laser beam quality M2 factor is 1.21.  相似文献

Output performances of passively Q-switched, composite Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG lasers that consisted of bonded, all-poly-crystalline ceramics Nd:YAG and Cr4+:YAG are reported. Laser pulses at 1.06 μm with 2.5-mJ energy and 1.9-MW peak power are obtained from a 1.1-at % Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG ceramics that was quasi-continuous-wave (quasi-CW) pumped with a diode laser. Single-pass frequency doubling with LiB3O5 (LBO) nonlinear crystal at room temperature yielded green laser pulses at 532 nm of 0.36-mJ energy and 0.3-MW peak power, with a conversion efficiency of 0.27.  相似文献

The continuous-wave high efficiency laser emission of Nd:YAG at the fundamental wavelength of 1319 nm and its 659.5-nm second harmonic obtained by intracavity frequency doubling with an LBO nonlinear crystal is investigated under pumping by diode laser at 885 nm (on the 4 F 3/24 I 13/2 transition). An end-pumped Nd:YAG crystal yielded 9.1 W at 1319 nm of continuous-wave output power for 18.2 W of absorbed pump power. The slope efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power is 0.55. Furthermore, 5.2 W 659.5 nm red light is acquired by frequency doubling, resulting in an optical-to-optical efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power of 0.286. Comparative results obtained for the pump with diode laser at 808 nm (on the 4 F 5/24 I 13/2 transition) are given in order to prove the advantages of the 885 nm wavelength pumping.  相似文献

A passively Q-switched a-cut Nd:GdVO4 self-Raman solid-state laser with Cr:YAG saturable absorber was firstly demonstrated. The first Stokes at 1173 nm was successfully obtained. At the maximum incident pump power, the pulse width was about 1.8 ns and the repetition rate was 27.5 kHz. 586.5 nm yellow laser output was also realized by use of an LBO frequency doubling crystal.  相似文献

It is reported that efficient blue laser generation at 473 nm in a BIBO crystal at type-I phase matching direction of (θ,)=(18.3°,90°) performed with a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser. With incident pump power of 1.6 W, output power of 183 mW at 473 nm has been obtained using a 5.0 mm-long BIBO crystal. The optical conversion efficiency was up to 11.4%. It was found that the intracavity frequency doubling efficiency is about 50% greater than that obtained with a 10 mm-long type-I phase-matching LBO crystal.  相似文献

Efficient room-temperature operation of 4 F 3/24 I 9/2 transitions in diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG lasers at 946 nm and 938.5 nm is reported. 7.0-W continuous-wave output power at 946 nm and 3.9 W at 938.5 nm have been obtained. An analytical model has been developed for the quasi-three-level laser including the influence of energy-transfer upconversion. Frequency doubling of these transitions in periodically poled KTP generated blue light at 473 nm and 469 nm. Both single-pass extra-cavity as well as intracavity schemes have been investigated. A compact 500.9 nm laser was realized using doubly resonant intracavity sum–frequency mixing. An Nd:YAG crystal and an Nd:YVO4 crystal were employed as the gain crystals. In two sub-cavities, 946 nm radiation from the Nd:YAG and 1064 nm radiation from the Nd:YVO4 were mixed to generate 500.9 nm. In the overlapping of the two cavities, sum–frequency mixing was achieved in a type-II critical phase-matched KTP crystal. An output power of 78 mW at a wavelength of 500.9 nm was generated using a total incident pump power of 4 W and the output light exhibited low noise, with the root-mean-square value being 0.3%.  相似文献

a high repetition rate and high power 532 nm green laser generated by intracavity frequency doubling of a 808 nm laser diode side-pumped ceramic Nd:YAG laser based on BBO electro-optical Q-switch has been demonstrated. in the simple V-folded cavity, the maximum green laser average power 32.6 W was obtained with a pulse width of 58.5 ns at a repetition rate of 10 kHz by using a LBO crystal for frequency doubling, corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 10.9% from diode pumping power to green laser power. An instability of 1.9% was measured over a period of 30 minutes and the beam quality factors were measured to be M x 2 = 3.55, M y 2 = 3.89 at the maximum output power.  相似文献

A continuous-wave high-power Nd:YAG laser operating on the 4F3/24I9/2 transition at 946 nm and intracavity frequency-doubled to 473 nm by a KNbO3 nonlinear crystal at room temperature is reported. The Nd:YAG laser outputs a randomly polarized beam of 3.8 W maximum power (38% optical-to-optical efficiency and 44% slope efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power) at the 946 nm fundamental wavelength. Intracavity frequency-doubling with a 2.0-mm thick KNbO3 crystal in a linear resonator yielded 159-mW single-ended blue-output with 4.8% optical-to-optical conversion efficiency versus the absorbed pump power. The 473-nm maximum power of 418 mW with 11.6% optical-to-optical conversion efficiency in absorbed power was obtained from a V-type resonator; the overall optical-to-optical conversion efficiency was 6.7%, while the conversion of the available infrared power reached 50%.  相似文献

We report multiwatt, diode-pumped cw operation on the (4)F(3/2)-(4)I(9/2) laser transition at 914.5 nm in Nd:YVO(4), for which an output power of 3.0 W and a slope of efficiency of 22.8% were achieved. For the corresponding laser transition of Nd:YAG at 946 nm an output power of 5.35 W and a slope efficiency of 40.2% were measured. An active Q-switched diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG laser is reported with 2.9 W output power on the 4F3/2 → 4I9/2 transitions at a pump power of 24 W. With intracavity frequency doubling using a 20-mm-long LBO, a maximum blue output power of 2.25 W is achieved at a repetition rate of 23 kHz. The conversion efficiency from the corresponding Q-switched fundamental output to blue output is 96%. The peak power of the Q-switched blue pulse is up to 610 W with 160 ns pulse width. We report the efficient compacted deep-blue laser at 456 nm generation by intra-cavity frequency doubling of a continuous-wave (cw) laser operation of a diode-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser on the 4 F 3/24 I 9/2 transition at 912 nm. The different long LiB3O5 (LBO) crystals, cut for critical type I phase matching at room temperature, are used for second harmonic generation (shg) of the laser. We demonstrate the generation of 515 nm green laser with diode-pumped Yb:YAG thin disk by intracavity frequency doubling of type-I phase-matched LiB3O5(LBO) in a V-type cavity at room temperature. A continuous-wave (CW) output power of 4.44 W at 515 nm was obtained. Optical-optical efficiency of 515 nm green laser is 14.6%. The fluctuation of green laser was 1.6% at the maximum output power in 0.5 h. Thermal lensing effects in Yb:YAG thin disk are investigated too.  相似文献
