We report the results of a search for associated production of charginos and neutralinos using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3 fb−1 collected with the DØ experiment during Run II of the Tevatron proton–antiproton collider. Final states containing three charged leptons and missing transverse energy are probed for a signal from supersymmetry with four dedicated trilepton event selections. No evidence for a signal is observed, and we set limits on the product of production cross section and leptonic branching fraction. Within minimal supergravity, these limits translate into bounds on m0 and m1/2 that are well beyond existing limits. 相似文献

A search was performed for charginos with masses close to the mass of the lightest neutralino in
collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 189-209 GeV recorded by the OPAL detector at LEP. Events were selected if they had an observed high-energy photon from initial state radiation, reducing the dominant background from two-photon scattering to a negligible level. No significant excess over Standard Model expectations has been observed in the analysed data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 570 pb-1. Upper limits were derived on the chargino pair-production cross-section, and lower limits on the chargino mass were derived in the context of the Minimal Supersymmetric Extension of the Standard Model for the gravity- and anomaly-mediated Supersymmetry breaking scenarios.Received: 26 July 2002, Published online: 11 July 2003 相似文献

We consider chargino and neutralino masses in an extension of the supersymmetric standard model to the supersymmetricSU(2)

model. After mixing of gauginos with higgsinos in addition to four charginos there are three neutralinos generated from the first symmetry breaking, and four neutralinos generated from the second symmetry breaking. In the minimal supersymmetry and left-right supersymmetry models, these mixings can be parameterized in terms of a few parameters. We find analytical expressions and numerical solutions for the mass eigenstates with some restrictions on theL-R parameters. 相似文献

The mass spectrum of the chargino–neutralino sector in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) is calculated at
the one-loop level, based on the complete set of one-loop diagrams. On-shell renormalization conditions are applied to determine
the counterterms for the gaugino-mass-parameters and the Higgsino-mass parameter . The input is fixed in terms of three pole masses (two charginos and one neutralino); the other pole masses receive a shift
with respect to the tree-level masses, which can amount to several GeV. The detailed evaluation shows that both the fermionic/sfermionic
loop contributions and the non-(s)fermionic loop contributions are of the same order of magnitude and are thus relevant for
precision studies at future colliders.

A search for stop production in R-parity-violating supersymmetry has been performed in e+p interactions with the ZEUS detector at HERA, using an integrated luminosity of 65 pb-1. At HERA, the R-parity-violating coupling λ’ allows resonant squark production, . Since the lowest-mass squark state in most supersymmetry models is the light stop, , this search concentrated on production of , followed either by a direct R-parity-violating decay, or by the gauge decay to . No evidence for stop production was found and limits were set on λ’131 as a function of the stop mass in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The results have also been
interpreted in terms of constraints on the parameters of the minimal supergravity model. 相似文献

The production and subsequent decay of spin-0 electrons and muons in e+e? annihilation leads to distinctive noncoplanar e+e? or μ+μ? production, with missing energy carried away by photinos or goldstinos. We give the cross section predicted by supersymmetry for creating pairs of these new spin-0 particles. Present e+e? annihilation experiments imply that their masses must be larger than , and in the near future PETRA experiments will either observe them or raise this limit to ~15 GeV/c2. 相似文献

We give explicit formulae for the decays of the Higgs bosons of the minimal supersymmetric model to neutralinos and charginos. The important features of these decays are illustrated and their phenomenological implications discussed. Particular attention is given to the decays of heavy Higgs bosons (with masses larger than mZ) which can only be observed at a future supercollider. When phase-space allowed, Higgs decays into neutralinos and charginos are at least as important as, and often dominate, other types of Higgs decay modes, such as WW, ZZ, and heavy quark (or lepton) pairs. 相似文献

We report the first direct search for the Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes of Randall-Sundrum gravitons using dielectron, dimuon, and diphoton events observed with the D0 detector operating at the Fermilab Tevatron pp(-) Collider at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. No evidence for resonant production of gravitons has been found in the data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately equal to 260 pb(-1). Lower limits on the mass of the first KK mode at the 95% C.L. have been set between 250 and 785 GeV, depending on its coupling to standard model particles. 相似文献

A search for squarks in R-parity violating supersymmetry is performed in
collisions at HERA using the H1 detector. The data were taken at a centre-of-mass energy of 319 GeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 64.3 pb-1 for e
+
p collisions and 13.5 pb-1 for e
-
p collisions. The resonant production of squarks via a Yukawa coupling
is considered, taking into account direct and indirect R-parity violating decay modes. No evidence for squark production is found in the multi-lepton and multi-jet final state topologies investigated. Mass dependent limits on
are obtained in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. In addition, the results are interpreted in terms of constraints on the parameters of the minimal Supergravity model. At the
confidence level squarks of all flavours with masses up to 275 GeV are excluded in a large part of the parameter space for a Yukawa coupling of electromagnetic strength. For a coupling strength 100 times smaller, masses up to 220 GeV can be ruled out.Received: 16 March 2004, Revised: 24 May 2004, Published online: 30 July 2004 相似文献

Supersymmetric theories involve spinorial partners for the gluons of QCD. If the symmetry breaking is such that they are massless or light, they probably combine with quarks to form families of new, relatively low-lying hadrinic states, which decay into ordinary hadrons and a new, neutrino-like particle. We discuss how present experiments can put limits on their production. 相似文献

A search for charginos with masses close to the mass of the lightest neutralino is reported, based on the data collected
with the DELPHI detector at LEP from 1995 to 1997 at centre-of-mass energies between 130 and 183 GeV. The signature of a photon
at high transverse momentum radiated from the initial state reduces the two-photon background to acceptable rates, thus making
the mass differences between a few hundred MeV/c and 3 GeV/c detectable. In very nearly degenerate scenarios, the lifetime of the chargino can be large enough to produce either visible
secondary vertices or decays outside the detector; therefore, quasi-stable heavy charged particles and displaced decay vertices
were also searched for. No excess of events with respect to the Standard Model expectations was observed, and limits in the
plane of chargino-neutralino mass difference versus chargino mass are given.

The Drell-Yan form is proposed for the decay widths of heavy quarks and cross sections for high-energy scattering with the production of charged pions and light leptons including radiative corrections in the final state in the leading logarithmic approximation. The corresponding spectral distributions are given in terms of the convolution of the cross section (decay width) in the Born approximation with the structure functions of pions and leptons. The pion structure function is given in the explicit form. 相似文献

The supersymmetry assumption based on a system of valence interacting bosons and odd nucleons has been checked in the second half of the nuclear sd-shell. The dynamical supersymmetric hamiltonian restricted to the linear combination of chosen second-order Casimir invariants has been applied to energy levels of several nuclei organized in supermultiplets. The supersymmetry predictions for nine nuclei are in accord, to a good approximation, with experimental energy levels up to 4–7 MeV. 相似文献

We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson and a fermiophobic Higgs boson in the diphoton final states based on 8.2 fb(-1) of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. No excess of data above background predictions is observed and upper limits at the 95% C.L. on the cross section multiplied by the branching fraction are set which are the most restrictive to date. A fermiophobic Higgs boson with a mass below 112.9 GeV is excluded at the 95% C.L. 相似文献
