The communication using chaotic synchronization between two multi-mode Nd:YAG lasers has been investigated numerically.The digital communication using multi-mode chatoic lasers is quite different from that using single mode lasers.By introducing a short break between two adjacent bits in the communication shceme,the digital signals can besuccessfully encoded into the spiky pulses and decoded through the subtraction of receiver output from the transmitted.Even when the two multi-mode lasers are not synchronized perfectly with certain deviations,the encoded digits can still be decoded correctly.  相似文献

The digital communication in a system of two multi-mode solid state chaotic lasers is investigated theoretically. If the usual method working well in a single-mode laser system is applied to a multi-mode laser system, the memory effect of the two nearest digits can cause high rate of mistakes when the digits are decoded through the subtraction of receiver output from the transmittal. By introducing the deviations of two nearest maximum and minimum fluctuations of the signal to decode the digit, the message can be decoded correctly. Also, this communication method does not critically depend on the quality of the chaotic synchronization of the two multi-mode lasers.  相似文献

Chaotic wavelength division multiplexing for optical communication   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We demonstrate wavelength division multiplexing with chaotic subcarriers in two pairs of one-way-coupled Nd:YVO4 microchip lasers. Two individual digital messages are encoded on two chaotic carriers with different wavelengths in two transmitters by the chaotic masking method, and the mixed signals are sent to two receivers. Dual synchronization of chaos is used to obtain the original chaotic waveforms in the receivers. Two messages are decoded by filtering the difference of the laser outputs between the transmitter and the receiver by use of a low-pass filter for each pair of lasers. The message recovery can be achieved more easily when messages with small amplitude and low frequency are used.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel chaotic relay system, based on cascaded synchronization in optoelectronic negative feedback chaotic semiconductor lasers, is presented. Synchronization characteristics and the influence of parameter mismatches on synchronization performances are investigated. The results show that the complete synchronization can be achieved under suitable system parameters; internal parameter mismatches of the lasers have influence on synchronization quality, but the system possesses more robustness to parameter mismatches compared with cascaded synchronization based on coherent optical feedback. Moreover, communication related issues are also investigated. Under the additive chaos modulation (ACM) encryption scheme, encoded messages can be successfully extracted at both mediator laser (ML) and receiver laser (RL) parts; parameter mismatches of the lasers will affect messages decoding, but the influence is not strong.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel approach to extract the periodic signals masked by a chaotic carrier. It verifies that the driven Duffing oscillator is immune to the chaotic carrier and sensitive to certain periodic signals. A preliminary detection scenario illustrates that the frequency and amplitude of the hidden sine wave signal can be extracted from the chaotic carrier by numerical simulation. The obtained results indicate that the hidden messages in chaotic secure communication can be eavesdropped utilizing Duffing oscillators.  相似文献

基于同一混沌信号光注入下两个1550 nm垂直腔面发射激光器 (VCSELs) 中两对应线性偏振模式之间的混沌同步, 提出了一种可实现信息的长距离双向双信道光纤混沌保密通信的系统模型, 并对该系统的同步、双向双信道通信以及光纤信道对信息传输的影响等性能进行了相关仿真研究. 结果表明: 在由驱动混沌激光器所产生的同一混沌光注入下, 两响应激光器中对应的两线偏振模式之间均可实现高质量的等时混沌同步, 且驱动激光器与两响应激光器间的同步系数较低; 基于两响应激光器之间对应线偏振模式的高质量混沌同步, 可实现双向双信道混沌通信; 采用单模保偏光纤 (或色散位移保偏光纤) 作为通信信道, 2.5 Gbit/s信息在传输60 km (或200 km) 后解调信息的Q因子能保持在6以上. 关键词: 垂直腔面发射激光器 (VCSELs) 双向双信道 混沌通信 光纤  相似文献

Ultrafast pulse sources based on multi-mode optical fibers are discussed. High-power passively mode-locked fiber lasers based on multi-mode rare-earth-doped optical fibers greatly exceed the power limitations of single-mode oscillators. Ultrafast multi-mode fiber amplifiers operating in conjunction with multi-mode oscillators provide even higher power levels, where nonlinear propagation effects enable pulse compression to below 100 fs. Multi-mode fiber oscillators can be combined with single-mode Raman-shifting fibers to produce widely wavelength-tunable sources of femtosecond pulses. Further amplification in Yb fibers allows for the generation of sub-100-fs pulses with W-level average powers.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate a chaotic on-off keying method for secure communications by using chaos synchronization in two microchip lasers. The output of the microchip laser in the transmitter is externally modulated with an acousto-optic modulator at ~4 MHz . One encodes a digital message in the chaotic carrier by turning the modulation on and off at 100 kHz. Because the accuracy of synchronization for the slave laser in the receiver tends to be degraded in the presence of external modulation in the injection laser signal, one can distinguish two binary states. The digital message can be recovered as an envelope of the chaotic oscillation when the difference between the two laser outputs of the transmitter and the receiver is calculated.  相似文献

研究了外部光注入对光反馈垂直腔表面发射半导体激光器(VCSEL)混沌载波基频的影响.研究结果表明:当外部注入光频率与VCSEL自由运行的振荡频率失谐一定时,随着外部光注入强度的增加,混沌载波基频总体呈现上升的趋势;通过调整失谐频率和注入强度大小,外部光注入可以使混沌载波基频得到大幅度的提高;当归一化的注入系数K=330, 失谐频率为42 GHz,可得到基频位于47.3 GHz的混沌信号输出. 关键词: VCSEL 光注入 光反馈 混沌载波基频  相似文献

Modeling theoretically the chaotic behaviors of semiconductor lasers, the carrier lifetime is usually treated as a constant (in this paper, it is called as the constant carrier lifetime assumption (CCLA)). In this paper, after considering the actually recombination mechanism of the carriers in the semiconductor, the variation of the carrier lifetime with the time has been obtained, and the chaotic characteristics of semiconductor laser with optical feedback have been investigated numerically. The obtained results have been compared with those obtained with CCLA, and the obvious differences can be observed.  相似文献

We numerically analyze the effect of an injection current on the synchronization and communication features of two chaotic external cavity semiconductor lasers in a closed-loop configuration. The simulation results demonstrate that, by moderately increasing the injection current, the efficient bandwidth of the chaotic carrier would be broadened, high quality chaos synchronization can be preserved, and the communication performance can be enhanced.  相似文献

The synchronization of chaotic lasers was studied considering the coupling scheme with the intensity of light pulses from one laser saturating the other one. The experimental synchronization of two single mode CO2 lasers with saturable absorber is reviewed. Numerical simulations are presented for diode lasers made chaotic by optical feedback. Optical intensity saturation coupling was introduced in Lang-Kobayashi equations. Parameters were chosen such that both lasers were uncorrelated and chaotic before coupling and partially synchronize after coupling. Correlation functions for the numerical solutions were used to characterize the properties of the synchronism. They show partial in-phase and antiphase synchronism for the pulse intensities, depending on the coupling mechanism. These synchronisms are independent of optical interferometric effects and so, relevant for communication applications.  相似文献

The message filtering characteristics of the receiver in closed-loop chaotic optical communication system are numerically studied based on laser rate equations. A pair of external cavity semiconductor lasers was employed as the chaotic carrier transmitter and the synchronized chaos receiver. We examined the filtering properties of the semiconductor laser receiver for message encoded with chaos masking. Our results demonstrate that, the lower the message frequency, the more easily the receiver filters out the message from chaotic carrier. We also analyzed the effects of each parameter mismatches between the transmitter and the receiver on the quality of the recovered message. Comparing the synchronization quality with the signal-to-noise ratio affected by parameter mismatches, we find that the quality of the recovered message depends not only on the synchronization quality but also on the filtering characteristics of the receiver. The filtering characteristics of receiver will be playing an important role on the quality of the recovered message in the case of large mismatches.  相似文献

A compact hybrid TEA CO2 laser has been developed which, when operated with the low pressure section well below oscillation threshold, demonstrates that little cw gain is necessary to ensure single longitudinal mode (SLM) output pulses with peak power, energy and pulse shape approaching those of normal multi-mode operation. This has allowed reliable SLM operation to be obtained with a very short, wide bore rf-excited low-pressure section, making feasible simple single-mode, large-aperture TEA lasers with high peak powers and energies.  相似文献

A linear array of N mutually coupled single-mode lasers is investigated. It is shown that the intensities of N lasers are chaotically synchronized when the coupling between lasers is relatively strong. The chaotic synchronization of intensities depends on the location of the lasers in the array. The chaotic synchronization appears between two outmost lasers, the second two outmost lasers, etc. There is no synchronization between nearest neighbors of the lasers. If the number of N is odd, the middle laser is never synchronized between any lasers. The chaotic synchronization of phases between nearest lasers in the array is examined by using the analytic signal and the Gaussian filter methods based on the peak of the power spectrum of the intensity. It can be seen that the message of chaotic intensity synchronization is conveyed through the phase synchronization.  相似文献

It is shown that identical synchronization of two chaotic semiconductor lasers can be achieved by injection of a common optical signal with randomly varying phase. An optical signal with randomly modulated phase is injected into two semiconductor lasers which have chaotic oscillations due to optical feedback. Strong correlation between complex intensity oscillations of the two lasers is observed even though the intensity of the common injection signal is constant. Characteristic properties of this type of synchronization are shown, in particular, the dependence of the synchronization threshold on the injection strength and the rate of phase modulation, and the dependence of the intensity correlation on the difference in phase of optical feedback.  相似文献

构建了一种在混沌噪声背景下检测并恢复微弱脉冲信号的模型.首先,基于混沌信号的短期可预测性及其对微小扰动的敏感性,对观测信号进行相空间重构、建立局域线性自回归模型进行单步预测,得到预测误差,并利用假设检验方法从预测误差中检测观测信号中是否含有微弱脉冲信号.然后,对微弱脉冲信号建立单点跳跃模型,并融合局域线性自回归模型,构成双局域线性(DLL)模型,以极小化DLL模型的均方预测误差为目标进行优化,采用向后拟合算法估计模型的参数,并最终恢复出混沌噪声背景下的微弱脉冲信号.仿真实验结果表明本文所建的模型能够有效地检测并恢复出混沌噪声背景中的微弱脉冲信号.  相似文献

This work aims to demonstrate the effect of synchronization phenomena in chaotic laser systems described by modified Lang-Kobayashi's (L-K) delay differential equations. The synchronized system considered for numerical simulations and for cryptography consists of identical semiconductor lasers operating in single longitudinal mode. The two lasers are bidirectionally coupled by linear optical feedback. As this is essential in simultaneous transmission of messages, we have applied the corresponding coupled chaotic dynamics to secure communications. An investigation of the system together with a novel scheme for digital cryptography and visual recurrence analysis (VRA) of the chaotic time series are presented. Extended statistical tests with the proposed two phase scheme demonstrate the efficiency of these infinite dimensional systems in being tolerant to different types of statistical attacks. The result emphasizes the merits of the uncertainty and high dimensionality of optical chaos system in duplex high speed secure communications.  相似文献

We numerically investigate the synchronization performance of unidirectionally and bidirectionally coupled chaotic semiconductor lasers subject to multiple modulated time delays optical feedbacks. Moreover, by studying the autocorrelation function of the coherent feedback semiconductor laser output, we find that the signatures of time delays can be erased in systems incorporating modulated feedback time delays, which largely improve the system security. Finally, chaos masking switching (CMS) is utilized to examine the communication ability. Numerical results indicate that the messages could be successfully recovered both in unidirectionally and bidirectionally coupled lasers, which confirms the possibility of applying multiple modulated delay system in optical chaos secure communication.  相似文献
