Glauber theory is applied to ${{\bar p} d}$ scattering at beam energies 20?C300?MeV using the ${{\bar N} N}$ amplitudes of the Jülich models. The available data for unpolarized differential and total cross section are well described within this approach. The polarized total ${{\bar p} d}$ cross sections are calculated within the single-scattering approximation using the optical theorem.  相似文献

The $D_{s0}^{*}(2317)$ meson which was discovered at BaBar in 2003 has the interesting properties of a surprisingly narrow width and a mass just below the DK threshold. Different theoretical models try to explain the nature of its properties. A precise knowledge of the width is an important criterion to evaluate these models. However, only an upper limit of 3.8?MeV is known so far. A suitable method to determine the width of particles which are significantly narrower than the experimental mass resolution is to measure the production cross section as a function of the center of mass energy. The shape of this excitation function allows to deduce the width. At PANDA, the measurement of the production cross section will be possible in antiproton-proton collisions. The PANDA experiment at the future FAIR facility is designed to combine precisely adjustable beam momenta and high luminosities which make it an excellent tool for this kind of measurement. In the following we will describe the experimental procedure to carry out this measurement with the PANDA detector in order to achieve a resolution in the order of 0.1?MeV for the width of the $D_{s0}^{*}(2317)$ .  相似文献

An ionization beam profile monitor relying on a supersonic gas-jet shaped into an extended, thin curtain is proposed for operation in an ultra high vacuum environment for very low perturbation on the accelerated beam, as requested for the in-ring profile monitoring at the Ultra low energy Storage Ring (USR) at the Facility for Low-energy Antiproton and Ion Research (FLAIR), in Darmstadt. In this paper, we describe the working principle of the monitor, as well as providing an analysis of sensitivity and resolution dependence on geometrical design and gas curtain thickness.  相似文献

The charged hyperon beam at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) has been used to collect data on semileptonic decays of Σ?, Ξ?, andΛ. A magnetic channel selected 100 GeV/c negatively charged particles produced in the forward direction by interaction of a 210 GeV/c proton beam on a BeO target. The Σ? and Ξ? hyperons were concurrently identified in a DISC ?erenkov counter, and their decay products were analysed by a magnetic spectrometer. Electron-hadron discrimination was achieved by the combined use of lead glass and lead/scintillator counters, transition radiation detectors, and a ?erenkov counter. In this article we report results on the \(\Xi \to \Lambda \pi (\Lambda \to pe\bar v), \Xi \to \Lambda e\bar v(\Lambda \to p\pi ),\) and \(\Xi \to \sum ^0 e\bar v(\sum ^0 \to \Lambda \gamma ) (\Lambda \to p\pi )\) decay modes. Samples of 7,111 \(\Lambda \to pe\bar v, 2,608 \Xi \to \Lambda e\bar v\) , and \(154 \Xi \to \Sigma ^0 e\bar v\) were used in our analysis. The branching ratio measurements gave values of (8.57±0.36)×10?4, (5.64±0.31)×10?4, and (0.87±0.17)×10?4 for \(\Lambda \to pe\bar v, \Xi \to \Lambda e\bar v\) , and \( \Xi \to \sum ^0 e\bar v\) , respectively. Measurements of the Λ polarization and of the centre-of-mass distributions yield the axial vector to vector form factor ratio,g 1/f 1=+0.70±0.03 for \(\Lambda \to pe\bar v\) , andg 1/f 1=+0.25±0.05 for \(\Xi \to \Lambda e\bar v\) . The effects ofq 2-dependence off 1 andg 1 and of radiative corrections, the measurement of the weak magnetism termf 2, and the effect of possible second-class current terms are discussed. Results on the \(\sum \to \Lambda e\bar v\) and \(\sum \to ne\bar v\) decay modes are reported in separate articles.  相似文献

We present measurements of the Gouy phase accumulation for the fundamental mode of an astigmatic Fabry–Perot cavity over 70?% of its stability range. The method is based on simultaneous measurement of the resonant frequencies of the fundamental mode and the $\text{TEM}_{11}$ Hermite–Gauss mode of the cavity. We achieve an uncertainty of $2.7\times 10^{-6}$ ?rad, which, in the context of displacement metrology, is sufficient to enable measurements over 50?mm with relative uncertainty below $10^{-10}$ .  相似文献

A precise measurement of the Dalitz plot parameter, $ \alpha$ , for the $ \eta$ → 3 $ \pi^{0}_{}$ decay is presented. The experiment was performed with the Crystal Ball and TAPS large-acceptance photon detectors at the tagged photon beam facility of the MAMI-B electron accelerator in Mainz. High statistics of 1.8 · 106 $ \eta$ → 3 $ \pi^{0}_{}$ events were obtained, giving the result $ \alpha$ = - 0.032±0.002stat±0.002syst .  相似文献

Antiproton-deuteron scattering is analyzed within the Glauber theory, accounting for the full spin dependence of the underlying \({\bar{N}N}\) amplitudes. The latter are taken from the Jülich \({\bar{N}N}\) models and from a recently published new partial-wave analysis of \({\bar{p}p}\) scattering data. Predictions for differential cross sections and the spin observables \({A_y^d}\) , \({A_y^{\bar{p}}}\) , A xx , A yy are presented for antiproton beam energies up to about 300 MeV. The efficiency of the polarization buildup for antiprotons in a storage ring is investigated.  相似文献

The medium-length (215 m) bending-magnet beamline 20B2 is allocated to medical applications and various X-ray micro imaging techniques (e.g., angiography, computed tomography, phase contrast imaging and diffraction topography) [1 S. Goto, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A 467–468, 682685 (2001).[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]]. The unique properties of BL20B2 are high spatial coherence (large coherent length) and its wide beam cross-section, which come from its long beam transport path and bending magnet light source. The horizontal angular aperture of BL20B2 is 1.5 mrad, as in all bending magnet beamlines at SPring-8. The horizontal beam width at the end station is larger than 300 mm for a 215 m beamline length.  相似文献

The mass-separator MASHA built to identify Super Heavy Elements by their mass-to-charge ratios is described. The results of the off- and on-line measurements of its separation efficiency are presented. In the former case four calibrated leaks of noble gases were used. In the latter the efficiency was measured via 284 MeV $^{40}$ Ar beam and with using the hot catcher. The ECR ion source was used in both cases. The $\alpha $ -radioactive isotopes of mercury produced in the complete fusion reaction $^{40}$ Ar+ $^{144}$ Sm $\rightarrow ^{184-xn}$ Hg+xn were detected at the mass-separator focal plane. The half-lives and the separation efficiency for the short-lived mercury isotopes were measured. Potentialities of the MEDIPIX detector system have been demonstrated for future use at the mass-separator MASHA.  相似文献

The electromagnetic probe is an excellent tool to investigate the structure of the nucleon. The nearly 4π detector PANDA, to be installed on the FAIR accelerator complex at Darmstadt, will allow to make a precise determination of the electromagnetic form factors of the proton in the time-like (TL) region with unprecedented precision. In the framework of the one-photon exchange, the center of mass unpolarized differential cross section of the reaction $\overline{p} p \rightarrow e^+ e^- $ is a linear combination of the squared moduli of the electric $G^{p}_E$ and magnetic $G^{p}_M$ proton form factors. The precise measurement of the angular distribution over almost full angular range then directly gives these quantities. Only two experiments have provided the ratio $R = {|G^{p}_E|/|G^{p}_M|}$ but with very large statistical uncertainties. Within PANDA, there is a unique opportunity to measure separately the moduli of these two proton form factors $G^{p}_E$ and $G^{p}_M$ in good conditions, up to around q 2 = 14 GeV2 .  相似文献

Prompt lepton production in proton beam dump experiments has been critically analysed within the general frame work of \(A_c \bar D\) and \(D\bar D\) production and their subsequent semileptonic decays. Realistic decay modes based on recent experiments are used. We have investigated the effect of using differentx dependences for the charm particles obtained either from simple quark counting rules or as inferred from strange particle production data. The \(D\bar D\) production is assumed to have a linearA dependence and for the \(A_c \bar D\) process bothA 1 andA 2/3 dependence is used. We show that by a simultaneous fit to the energy and angular distributions of prompt leptons in all the experiments the ratio of \(A_c \bar D\) to \(D\bar D\) production cross section can be determined. A comparison of this fit with these experimental distributions indicates that thex dependences based on strange particle data are strongly favoured. AnA 2/3 dependence for \(A_c \bar D\) production, which corresponds to a quasi-diffractive process, is favoured although within existing errorsA 1 dependence cannot be ruled out. Putting together the cross section results from our analysis with other results at similar energies (p 1ab ~400GeV/c) the production cross sections ( \(A_c \bar D\) ) and ( \(D\bar D\) ) are estimated to be ~25 and ~20 μb/nucleon respectively leading to a total inclusive charm cross section of ~90 μb/nucleon.  相似文献

Experiments using polarized \(^{3}\) He atom beams to search for short range spin dependent forces are proposed. High intensity, high polarization, small beam size \(^{3}\) He atom beams have been successfully produced and used in surface science researches. By incorporating background reduction designs as combination shielding by \(\upmu \) -metal and superconductor and double beam paths, the precision of spin rotation angle per unit length could be improved by a factor of \(\sim \!10^{4}\) . By this precision, in combination with a high density and low magnetic susceptibility sample source mass, and reversing one beam path if necessary, sensitivities on three different types of spin dependent interactions could be improved by as much as \(\sim \!\!10^{2}\) to \(\sim \!\!10^{8}\) over the current experiments at the millimeter range.  相似文献

We study the production of charmed mesons (D) and baryons (?? c ) in antiproton-proton ${(\bar{p}p)}$ annihilation close to their respective production thresholds. The elementary charm production process is described by either baryon/meson exchange or by quark/gluon dynamics. Effects of the interactions in the initial and final states are taken into account rigorously. The calculations are performed in close analogy to our earlier study on ${\bar{p}p \to \bar{\Lambda} \Lambda}$ and ${\bar{p} p \to \bar{K} K}$ by connecting the processes via SU(4) flavor symmetry. Our predictions for the ${\bar{\Lambda}_c \Lambda_c}$ production cross section are in the order of 1 to 7 mb, i.e. a factor of around 10?C70 smaller than the corresponding cross sections for ${\bar{\Lambda} \Lambda}$ However, they are 100 to 1000 times larger than predictions of other model calculations in the literature. On the other hand, the resulting cross sections for ${\bar{D} D}$ production are found to be in the order of 10?2 ?C 10?1 ??b and they turned out to be comparable to those obtained in other studies.  相似文献

We show that there are three regions in the half-plane { ( x , t ) | ? ∞ < x < ∞ , t > 0 } $\{(x,t) | -\infty <x<\infty , t>0\}$ , on which the asymptotics has qualitatively different forms: a slowly decaying self-similar wave of Zakharov-Manakov type for x > ? 4 tB $x>-4tB$ , a plane wave region: x > ? 4 t B + 2 A 2 B + A 2 4 $x<-4t\left (B+\sqrt {2A^{2}\left (B+\frac {A^{2}}{4}\right )}\right )$ , an elliptic region: ? 4 t B + 2 A 2 B + A 2 4 > x > ? 4 tB $-4t\left (B+\sqrt {2A^{2}\left (B+\frac {A^{2}}{4}\right )}\right )<x<-4tB$ . Illuminance uniformity and illuminating efficiency are always the key problems of light emitting diode (LED) lighting system design. Based on the new design of the reflection optical module, illuminance uniformity and illuminating efficiency are investigated simultaneously in this paper. At the first stage, a reflector with various profile designs is installed to improve the uniformity and efficiency of irradiances collected through the receiver. Using the macro commands, an effective process is presented through the optimal design of the reflector geometries, and the merit function is used as the optical quality objective to find the optimal design value of $K2$ K 2 and $R2$ R 2 parameters of the reflector. At the second stage, based on the optimal design result, the displacement between LED source and reflector is further adjusted automatically by the macro commands too. The results from the ray tracing simulation indicate that the optimal design can be achieved through the compromise of Illuminance uniformity and illuminating efficiency. Finally, we obtain the merit function value of $1.81$ 1.81 with $K2=-1.09, R2=1.11\,\hbox {mm}$ K 2 = - 1.09 , R 2 = 1.11 mm , and the source position $Z1= 1.68\,\hbox {mm}$ Z 1 = 1.68 mm . The results shown in this paper could be beneficial for machine vision systems which are heavily demanded in the light source applications for the uniform and efficient illuminance.  相似文献

A single longitudinal mode micro-electro-mechanical system-tunable vertical cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) was used to measure H $_{2}$ O and HF absorption spectra in the 1,321–1,354?nm range at 55?kHz repetition rate ( $\sim $ 740?MHz/ns tuning rate). Pulse delay referencing was used to achieve an absorbance noise level of 0.004 (RMS), within a factor of 2.6 of the shot noise limit. The measured linewidths approach the low-pressure feature linewidths ( $\sim$ 790?MHz) characteristic of the gases studied, highlighting the single-mode nature of the VCSEL throughout each rapid wavelength sweep. At even higher tuning rates, molecular features became asymmetric and broad, consistent with rapid passage and Fourier effects.  相似文献

Understanding of the production processes of the η meson will strongly rely on the precise determination of spin observables. So far these observables have been determined only for few excess energies and with low statistics (Winter et al. Eur. Phys. J. A18, 355 2003; Czyzykiewicz et al. Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 122003 2007; Balestra et al. Phys. Rev. C69, 064003 2004). In the year 2010 WASA detector was used for the measurement of the \(\overrightarrow {p}p\rightarrow pp\eta \) reaction with the polarized proton beam of COSY (Moskal and Hodana J. Phys. Conf. Ser 295, 012080 2011). The measurement was done for the excess energy of Q = 15 MeV and Q = 72 MeV. In total about 106 events corresponding to the \(\overrightarrow {p}p\rightarrow pp\eta \) reaction have been collected.  相似文献

We study the mixings and CP violations in the \(B^0 - \bar B^0 \) system together with the \(K^0 - \bar K^0 \) one in the four-generation model, taking into account the ARGUS data for the \(B_d^0 - \bar B_d^0 \) mixing. We take typical six cases of the mixing hierarchy and search for the allowed regions of three phases in the 4×4KM matrix. The CP violating parameter ? K in the \(K^0 - \bar K^0 \) system gives a severe constraint for the phases, and the smaller mixing than that in the three-generation model is predicted for the \(B_s^0 - \bar B_s^0 \) system. The asymmetry parameters for the two-body non-leptonic decays of theB 0 and \(\bar B^0 \) mesons are also predicted.  相似文献

Inclusive and semi-inclusive production of Λ and \(\bar \Lambda\) inK + p interactions is studied at an incident momentum of 70 GeV/c. Cross sections and single particle distributions are presented and compared with data at lower energies. Scaling is observed between 32 and 70 GeV/c in the Feynmanx variable in the target and the beam fragmentation regions for Λ and \(\bar \Lambda\) inclusive production respectively. An increase of Λ ( \(\bar \Lambda\) ) production is observed in the beam (target) fragmentation regions, whereas the data at 70 and 32 GeV/c are reasonably close in the central region. The dependence of the Λ( \(\bar \Lambda\) ) polarization as a function ofx is measured and found to be in general agreement with the results at 32 GeV/c. The (Λ \(\bar \Lambda\) ) pair production cross section increases significantly from 32 to 70 GeV/c. The Λ and \(\bar \Lambda\) production associated with an identified proton is also studied.  相似文献

High-spin states of 216Ra ( $\emph{Z}=88$ , $\emph{N}=128$ ) have been investigated through 209Bi(10B, 3n) reaction at an incident beam energy of 55?MeV and 209Bi(11B, 4n) reaction at incident beam energies ranging from 65 to 78?MeV. Based on ??? coincidence data, the level scheme for 216Ra has been considerably extended up to ~ 33 $\hbar$ spin and 7.2 MeV excitation energy in the present experiment with placement of 28 new ??-transitions over what has been reported earlier. Tentative spin-parity assignments are done for the newly proposed levels on the basis of the DCO ratios corresponding to strong gates. Empirical shell model calculations were carried out to provide an understanding of the underlying nuclear structure.  相似文献
