The effect of low-frequency disturbances of the three-dimensional separation zone formed in supersonic flow over a sphere with a capped spike on the flow in the forward separation zone has been systematically analyzed on the basis of a large series of experiments. The separation zone was disturbed by rotating the spike about its own axis at various angular velocities. The investigation was carried out using motion-picture records of the flow pattern around the model and the pressure and heat flux distributions on the surface of the sphere.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No.2, pp. 185–188, March–April, 1992.  相似文献

The early stage of separation flow formation on a cylindrical surface immediately after the onset of jet exhaust from the base is investigated numerically for various values of the jet-to-ambient pressure ratio on the basis of the complete time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations, the energy equation and the equations for the transfer and diffusion of the exhaust gas concentration. The time dependence of the geometrical and gasdynamic parameters in the separation flow region is obtained for various flow regimes. It is found that the process is periodic with transition from the flow regime with an open separation zone to that with a closed zone, and vice versa, until the final flow regime is attained, which may be open, closed, or periodic.Moscow. Some results of experimental studies are shown concerning subsonic flow in separation zones of three-dimensional turbulent boundary layers formed in front of cylindrical weirs and rectangular parallelepipeds or dashboards. The width to height ratio of the weirs was varied from 0.25 to 24, and the boundary layer thickness to weir height ratio at separation was varied from 0.2 to 2.0. Flow patterns are shown along with the effects of the setup ge-ometry, of the weir width to height ratio, of the boundary layer parameters, and of the Euler and Reynolds numbers on the flow pattern and on the coordinates of characteristic points in the separation zone. Data are furnished for determining the dimensions of three-dimensional separation zones in front of weirs. The flow and the heat transfer in three-dimensional separation zones at subsonic velocities have not yet been explored adequately. The separation data published in [1, 2, 3] are not sufficient for determining the flow pattern, the static pressure distribution, and the characteristic dimensions of a separation zone — all of which are needed for calculating the heat transfer in the separation zone [4].Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 1, pp. 50–54, January–February, 1972.The authors thank V. In longitudinal supersonic flow over spiked cylinders nonsteady regimes can occur in which a separation zone is periodically generated at the spike, grows vigorously in size, and then vanishes. Several authors [1–6] have investigated the physical pattern of flow with separation zone fluctuations (using shadowgraphs) and have determined the boundaries of existence of the nonsteady regime as a function of the ratio between the spike length and diameter of the cylinder. The authors, however, did not systematically study the dependence of the pulsation frequency on the freestream Mach and Reynolds numbers or on the relative diameter and tip angle of the spike. We have undertaken such an investigation. We are concerned primarily with the influence of the dimensionless parameters on the Strouhal number Sh of the separation zone pulsations at a spike attached to the front of a flat-ended cylinder. Earlier investigations [4–6] have been carried out using motion pictures with film speeds up to 32·103 frames/sec. In the present study we used high-speed motion pictures with a speed of 6.25· 105 frames/sec. This speed allowed us to determine the precise sequence of phases of the pulsations and their relative durations, as well as the speed at which the boundaries of the separation zone move.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 118–124, September–October, 1976.  相似文献

The conditions of nonsymmetric trailing edge flow with separation are investigated. Solutions of the equations for the interaction zone in the neighborhood of the trailing edge of a thin profile at an angle of attack of the order O(Re–1/16) in the separated flow regime are constructed numerically. It is shown that for this zone a solution exists up to a certain angle of attack. In all the regimes the value of the friction on the upper surface at the very end of the trailing edge remains a positive quantity. The solution of the equations in the separated flow regimes is found to be nonunique. The flow over the leading edge is assumed to be unseparated, and the separation at the trailing edge, if present, is assumed to be localized in the interior of the boundary layer. The flow over a Kutta profile at zero angle of attack is taken as an example. In this case the satisfaction of the Chaplygin-Joukowsky condition at the trailing edge ensures smooth flow over both the trailing and leading edges.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 55–59, July–August, 1989.  相似文献

The problem of calculating the nonstationary aerodynamic characteristics of a cascade of thin lightly loaded airfoils in a subsonic flow with the formation of thin separation zones of finite extent is solved approximately. As in [1–5], an approach based on a linear small-perturbation analysis, within which the flow is assumed to be inviscid, is employed and the boundaries of the unsteady separation zones are simulated by oscillating lines of contact discontinuity. However, instead of the requirement of a given fixed pressure at the boundary of the separation zone, used in [1–5], this study proposes a more general condition according to which on each element of length of the thin separation layer the pressure oscillates with an amplitude proportional to the local value of the amplitude of its thickness oscillations. The problem is reduced to a system of two singular integral equations which can be solved numerically.Moscow. The development of the reverse flow structure in the neighborhood of a corner in a viscous incompressible laminar flow at high Reynolds numbers is investigated numerically. It is found that as the angle of inclination increases the internal structure of the reverse flow zone becomes more complex as a result of secondary separation. The effect of the curvature of the surface is investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 180–182, January–February, 1991.  相似文献

We consider the flow formed by the interaction of a supersonic flow and a transverse sonic or supersonic jet blown at right angles to the direction of the main flow through a nozzle whose exit section is in a flat wall. When a gas jet is blown through a circular opening [1] the pressure rises in front of the jet because of the stagnation of the oncoming flow. This leads to separation of the boundary layer formed on the wall in front of the blowing nozzle. The resulting three-dimensional separation zone leads to a sharp increase in the pressure and the heat fluxes to the wall in front of the blowing nozzle, which is undesirable in many modern applications. The aim of the present investigation was to find a shape of the exit section of the blowing nozzle for which there is no three-dimensional separation zone of the boundary layer in front of the blowing nozzle.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 162–165, May–June, 1979.  相似文献

Flow taking place in the three-dimensional region of separation formed by the interaction of a subsonic stream with a single subsonic jet emerging from a circular hole in a plate perpendicular to the stream is considered. The aim of the investigation is to discover the physical characteristics of the flow in the three-dimensional separation zone in front of a subsonic jet obstacle and to determine the principal laws governing the geometrical and hydrodynamic characteristics of the flow as functions of the parameters of the driving stream and jet.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 34–41, May–June, 1973.  相似文献

Steady-state viscous incompressible fluid flow past an axisymmetric slender body is considered at high Reynolds numbers in the regime with vanishing surface friction in a certain cross-section. In a small neighborhood of this cross-section interaction between the boundary layer flow and the external irrotational stream develops. In order to study the structure of the three-dimensional flow with local separation zones it is assumed that there is three-dimensional roughness on the surface of the body with the scale of the interaction zone. For this zone a numerical solution of the problem is obtained and its nonuniqueness is established. The surface friction line (limiting streamline) patterns with their inherent features are constructed.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 67–79, May–June, 1995.Thus, on the basis of the asymptotic marginal separation theory it is possible to obtain fairly simple solutions describing flows with a complex surface friction line structure.  相似文献

The shadow and interferometric methods and the laser probe method are used to investigate crossflow past a cylinder on the free-stream Mach number interval M a =0.5–1.2 for subcritical Reynolds numbers Re d and various initial steam states. Detailed pressure distributions are obtained and the pressure fluctuations on the cylinder surface are measured. The dependence of the Strouhal number on the velocity and thermodynamic parameters of the flow are determined. In single-phase steam flow past a cylinder the greatest fluctuations occur in the separation zone in regimes corresponding to transonic drag crisis. It is shown that spontaneous condensation in the turbulent wake and local supersonic zones may cause an increase in the periodic pressure fluctuations in the separation zone, the maximum increase in the fluctuations being noted when the critical pressure ratio is reached at the rear of the cylinder. The initial wetness of the steam has the greatest effect on the periodic separation characteristics at subsonic flow velocities, and in the case of supersonic flow leads to a substantial increase in the level of the low-frequency pressure fluctuations at the front of the cylinder.(deceased)Moscow. Supersonic flow past a step preceded by longitudinal grooves cut in the plane surface upstream of it is studied experimentally in the presence of a turbulent boundary layer. It is shown that the grooves affect both the shape and the size of the flow separation zone and generate longitudinal vortex cores in the latter.Moscow. The mechanism of turbulent boundary layer separation under the influence of a positive pressure gradient is analyzed. The process of turbulent separation from a smooth wall in a plane diffuser channel has been experimentally investigated. It is shown that separation is determined by the nature of the flow in a certain inner part of the boundary layer, where the friction effect is unimportant. This region of the boundary layer is most exposed to the action of the positive pressure gradient and it is there that the stagnant zone primarily appears.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 69–77, November–December, 1990.  相似文献

An experimental study is made of the turbulent boundary layer in its interaction with a shock wave, the purpose being to clarify questions connected with the increase in the fullness of the velocity profiles. New systematic data are obtained on the development of the boundary layer, and its structure and asymptotic behavior beyond the interaction region. These results are for axisymmetric flow in the range of Mach numbers M=2–4 and angles of rotation of the flow 10–25°. Conditions of developed separation are included. Extensive information about the general properties of flows with separation has been obtained in a number of studies. A survey of these may be found, for example, in [1, 2]. Certain questions about the separation and reattachment of the boundary layer are clarified. The dimensions of the separation region are determined and its structure studied in detail for various shapes of the surface around which the flow takes place. Nevertheless it has not yet proved possible to reach a complete understanding of this complex phenomenon. Usually plane models have been used for the investigations, but in this case it is evidently impossible to exclude completely the influence of end effects on the flow in the interaction zone. Therefore it is preferable to study such flows in axisymmetric models; this considerably eases the task of analyzing and interpreting the results.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 75–82, September–October, 1985.  相似文献

The flow structure behind the separation point of a laminar boundary layer in a supersonic stream has been investigated. Analytic and numerical solutions are obtained for simple semiinfinite separation zones starting from the leading edge or a point on the smooth surface. The question of the pressure plateau in a separation zone of finite length is discussed and its value is calculated on the basis of asymptotic theory. The asymptotic theory of flow [1, 2] in the neighborhood of the separation point of the laminar boundary layer in a supersonic gas stream (region of free interaction) is employed. The local solution obtained is subsequently used to construct the flow pattern in the separation zone [3]. An analysis is made of the behavior of the solution for the free-interaction region on transition to the region of reverse flows. The results make it possible actually to compute (in the first approximation) the pressure in the plateau region after establishing the mathematical significance of this concept, previously introduced on the basis of the experimental results. At the same time relatively simple solutions are obtained for semiinfinite separation zones.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 19–25, May–June, 1971.  相似文献

An approach known from the theory of matched asymptotic expansions involving the isolation of subregions with different scales is used to study flows which are assumed to be described by the boundary layer equations almost everywhere near the surface except for a fairly narrow zone in which the inflowing boundary layers interact. Two characteristic types of interaction are identified. An approximate theory describing the flow in the interaction zone, which makes it possible to locate the position of the interaction zone on the surface, is proposed. The interaction flow on the end wall of a vane channel is calculated subject to certain simplifications. The results of an experimental investigation of this flow are presented and it is shown that the theoretical model proposed describes the three-dimensional corner separation which occurs in the neighborhood of the line of intersection of the end wall and the convex edge of the vane.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 116–123, May–June, 1988.  相似文献

In previous papers, e.g., [1, 2], boundary-layer separation was investigated by analyzing solutions of the boundary-layer equations with a given external pressure distribution. In general, this kind of solution cannot be continued after the separation point. Study of the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations [3–5] shows that, in boundarylayer separation in supersonic flow over a smooth surface, the main effect on the flow in the immediate vicinity of the separation point is a large local pressure gradient induced by interaction with the external flow. The solution can be continued beyond the separation point and linked to the solutions in the other regions, located downstream [5]. Similar results for incompressible flow were recently obtained in [6]. We can assume that in general there is always a small region near the separation point in which separation is self-induced, and where the limiting solution of the Navier-Stokes equations does not contain unattainable singular points. However, this limiting slope picture can be more complex and can contain more regions where the behavior of the functions differed from that found in [3–6]. The present paper investigates separation on a body moving at hypersonic speed, where the ratio of the stagnation temperature to the body temperature is large. It is shown that both. for hypersonic and supersonic speeds the flow near the separation point is appreciably affected by the distribution of parameters over the entire unperturbed boundary layer, and not only in a narrow layer near the body, as was true in the flows studied earlier [3–6]. Regions may appear with appreciable transverse pressure drops within the zone occupied by layers of the unperturbed boundary layer. Similarity parameters are given, the boundary problems are formulated, and the results of computer calculation are presented. The concept of subcritical and supercritical boundary layers is refined, and the dependence of pressure coefficients responsible for separation on the temperature factor is established.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 99–109, November–December 1973.  相似文献

Starting with the experiments carried out by Reynolds in 1894, the flow in Venturi tubes has traditionally been used to study and demonstrate various forms of cavitation. Numerous authors have carried out experimental research on the various flow regimes in diffuser channels [1–7] or have investigated theoretical models of such flows [6, 8]. The occurrence and development of cavitation is closely associated with the phenomenon of turbulent separation complicated by the presence of two-phase flow in the dissipation zone. For a long time these effects were considered separately, until Gogish and Stepanov [9] proposed a single model of cavitation and separation based on the theory of intense interaction of an incompressible potential flow and a turbulent cavitation layer of variable density and embracing the various stages of cavitation. The object of this study is to demonstrate the possibilities of this model with reference to the simple example of flows accompanied by cavitation and separation in plane and axisymmetric diffuser channels of the Venturi tube type with straight and curved walls. The dissipative flow near the walls is described by a quasihomogeneous model of turbulent two-phase flow, in which the presence of two phases is taken into account only by varying the mean density. The potential core of the flow is considered in the one-dimensional formulation. The displacement thickness serves as the flow interaction parameter. The conditions of ocurrence and development of circulatory flows are determined. Examples of symmetrical and nonsymmetrical flows are presented.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 47–54, September–October, 1986.  相似文献

The propagation of an underexpanded sonic jet over a flat end face has been experimentally investigated. As distinct from previous studies, the object of investigation is not a free jet, but a jet flowing from a nozzle along a horizontal surface. The total separation of the jet from the surface and its attachment to the end wall are related to the propagation characteristics of underexpanded wall jets. The effect of the total pressure in the jet and the height of the step on the separation of the jet and its attachment to the wall and, moreover, on the principal characteristics of the flow — the pressure in the base region, the extent of the circulation zone, the jet trajectory — is examined. The associated hysteresis effects are studied.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 61–66, July–August, 1991.  相似文献
